4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: September 13 | Eater LA

"Inside this noodle specialist that opened its first store in San Gabriel in 2010, the streamlined menu at the Pasadena outpost still delivers compelling flavors: the Central Vietnamese noodle soup bun bo Hue is a main draw and comes with a highly chewable pork trotter, while the bun bo xao — stir-fried beef and onions over cool vermicelli noodles — is terrific, especially when it’s too warm for slurping hot broth." - Eater Staff

This place is a pho lover's dream! The Pho dac biet broth was incredibly flavorful, and the generous meat portions were impressive. The Bún bò Huế was also delicious, with a perfect balance of spice for those who like a little heat. The rocket shrimp were a standout - fresh, crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Service was top-notch - fast, friendly, and attentive. Overall, this spot exceeded my expectations for authentic pho, and I'll definitely be back for more!

I recently tried Nha Trang in Old Town Pasadena and thought it was okay overall. I ordered the Bún Bò Huế and my boyfriend got the chicken phở and egg rolls. My Bún Bò Huế was decent, but I’ve definitely had better. I added the blood cakes, which were unfortunately too soft and mushy — they could’ve been cooked a bit longer. Also, the bowl had a lot of meat, which some might like, but it felt a little overwhelming for me. The egg rolls were really good — crispy, flavorful, and probably my favorite part of the meal. My boyfriend wasn’t too impressed with his chicken phở, saying it needed more flavor, though he did mention the chicken itself was nicely cooked and tender. Overall, the food was just okay for us. I appreciated the portion sizes and service, but flavor-wise, there’s room for improvement.

Google
The food is the same like their original location in San Gabriel. Their Signature Bun Bo Hue is great as always. If you are in Pasadena you don’t need to drive down to San Gabriel anymore 😄 Their new item Pho Dac Biet is also very good. A lot of meat and I don’t feel thirsty after drinking their soup. The service is friendly. You can also order by scan QR code at your table. The menu on the website is very easy to order and good for first time customers. The have all the information about the dish you going to order. Their tables are clean, the chairs is comfortable, the ceiling is high and bright, the ac is cold. 👍

was feeling sick and needed pho to heal me but i instead opted for their bun bo hue. instantly felt better. who needs medicine when you can go here?

Google
A great addition to Old Town Pasadena and an amazing spot for Vietnamese food. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant I have been to that had the side veggies already ready to just be thrown into the pho. Usually you have to hand pick the mint but this place you can just put it all in directly. Delicious, clean, great service, overall really great.

Google
Best Vietnamese restaurant in Pasadena, Hands Down!! Our waitress Connie was so sweet and welcoming. It was our first time so she gave us some recommendations and they did not disappoint! The Vietnamese Ice coffee was so delicious! We started off with Shrimp Spring Rolls & Shrimp and Taro egg rolls. The spring rolls were so light and fresh. The mint really brightened up each bite. The egg rolls were crunchy, savory and so delicious! For our main course we ordered the spicy filet mignon pho and filet mignon rice. The filet was so tender and flavorful!! The spicy broth and noodles in the pho were the perfect pairing for such a fine cut of meat. The rice dish was excellent and came with a perfectly fried egg. Already thinking about my next meal at Nha Trang!

Steph C.

Google
Decent pho tai with lots of meat and noodles. It came with the usual sprouts, basil and jalapeno. The grilled pork summer rolls were really tasty, with a great peanut sauce. Honestly just wish any restaurant with pho would spring for birds eye chilies instead of jalapeno. The atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly.

Google
This is not pho… the broth was not fresh, and the “rare beef” came out tasting and looking like it was cooked 2 days ago. I never leave a bad review (despite bad food), but what prompted me to write this is the attitude of the staff. When I politely asked them to take back my order, I was given dirty looks and no apology. The servers looked like they just rolled out of bed and when serving me, held the side veggie dish OVER TOP the pho bowl causing the bottom of the dish to dip into the soup. Absolutely horrific. I’m disappointed but not surprised — there is a dearth of good Asian restaurants in Pasadena.

Yelp
Authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Pasadena. I was craving pho, saw the reviews, and wanted to try it for myself--and was pleasantly delighted. Both the pho dac biet and bun bo hue (one of their speciality) taste authentic and delicious. The broth is light but flavorful, and the portion size is just right for me. I was actually able to finish the bowl and feel satisfied afterwards. The meat in the pho wasn't particularly memorable, but the soup made up for it. Parking was easy to find on the street on a Saturday for lunch. There's also a parking structure right next door as well. Service was pretty good, and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot!

Yelp
Was in the mood for soup and was surprised to see Nha Trang location in Pasadena. I've had their food at another location before, so i was familiar with it. What i wasn't familiar with, were the prices. lol I mean, it's not that I didn't see the prices before hand, but for just two bowls of noodles , came out to 50$ after tip. To me, that is a bit inflated. Food tasted fine but I wouldn't be rush to come back or ever. If your pockets can justify the price, more power to you, but you can definitely drive a little further and get something much more affordable and tastier.

Yelp
My wife and I had a positive first experience dining here at Nha Trang. We were walking around Old Town Pasadena and decided on some Vietnamese food. Upon arrival we were greeted immediately and staff allowed us to sit where we pleased. We felt welcome the entire time. The location has memorable artwork and designs along the walls. The menu is minimal and straight to the point. They offer pho, noodle salads, traditional Vietnamese appetizers and drinks. We decided on trying the Bun Bo Hue soup. It's priced at $16.99. We had never tried this dish before and we were throughly satisfied. Their BBH soup was flavorful and not too spicy. The broth was savory and aromatic. I would love to try more BBH soup moving forward after trying Nha Trang's version. Nha Trang is a solid choice for traditional Vietnamese cuisine if you find yourself in Old Town Pasadena.

Yelp
Got here on a Saturday around 5:30pm and got seated right away! First of all, love the interior - vibrant and colorful wall that celebrates the restaurant's cultural heritage. Got the Bun Bo Hue and added blood cakes - asked for non spicy! Very flavorful and I absolutely love the beef - so tender but retains the meaty flavor! The portion is very decent and I was craving for thick noodles and this one definitely delivers! Service was amazing! If you are in old town Pasadena, this is a great Vietnamese spot to try!
google avatar

Gus Z.

Yelp
A truly authentic Vietnamese hole in the wall that pays homage to some traditional dishes that you don't see in other restaurants. If you're up for some adventure then this is your place. Excellent people, excellent service, amazing food. Highly recommend in every respect!

Yelp
Stopped by here after a cold day and the pho was delicious and great service was fast and friendly. I saw other reviews and i had no issues with the pho even the meet was cooked to perfection in my book. I had the beef pho and I truly enjoyed.
google avatar

Lauryn T.

Yelp
You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Service was great and super fast. The place was very clean and organized. They have the hot sauce, napkins, and utensils on the table easy access. We both got the Bún Bó Hué. Which is the beef spicy noodle soup. The soup was seriously so good! Definitely going to be my go to now! The flavor was phenomenal. I will absolutely be back to eat inside and also order togo. Worth it!

Yelp
Located in Old Town Pasadena, Nha Trang Vietnamese restaurant is a popular spot for Vietnamese soups. I came here specifically during Dine LA week, when they had a generous $25 pre fixe menu. Had their crab and pork eggrolls, their bun bo hue soup, and passion fruit tea. The passion fruit tea was refreshing on a 98 degree day. Compared to pho, bun bo hue is a richer, spicier broth with nice beef, pork, lemongrass flavor. Add in the herbs that they give on the side for some extra bumps of flavor. My friend went with their pho and he really enjoyed it. I also ordered their nem nuong spring roll and I like that it was full of herbs and they had a little bit of the fried egg roll wrapper on the inside for a textural crunch. I think the value of their dine LA menu was unmatched and, overall, I feel that Nha Trang is a good option for Vietnamese food. I would definitely come back for their spring rolls and their teas; however, my preferred Vietnamese spots have more assertive flavor in their broths and nuoc mam/sauces.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Since I was craving die Vietnamese food for lunch and this place was as close to authentic as I can find in Pasadena. I will take it. This place was busy and crowded during lunch hours! Which is good, this is the 3rd Nha Trang I have been to. The original one is at Monterey Park and still has the best Bun Bo Hue (in my opinion); 2nd location at San Gabriel is good too! Overall, their selections are pretty good.
google avatar

Eliseo R.

Yelp
We were all wondering what to get for dinner in the area, and this Vietnamese spot totally delivered!! This is their second location, and it definitely lives up to the hype!! I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, which is their spicy beef noodle soup and is a family specialty. It was so good. It comes with both beef and pork in a spicy lemongrass broth. The noodles were thick vermicelli and cooked just right. The broth was definitely a little spicy for me, but still very flavorful and totally manageable. The meat was super tender and just added more flavor and depth to the meal. We also got the eggrolls, which is the best appetizer to get with pho. They came out hot and crispy so you'll want to let them cool down before digging in!! Prices are pretty decent for what you get, and the portions are solid. I'd definitely give this place a 5 stars. Great spot if you're looking for a hearty, satisfying Vietnamese pho meal!!
google avatar

Jess C.

Yelp
This Vietnamese spot felt fairly average to me. Its high ratings might be due to a lack of other options in downtown Pasadena. I was genuinely impressed by the free noodle refills, and the broth itself was decent. Also, I though the pork spring roll with the crunchy egg roll (in the center) was another highlight! However, I was disappointed with the lime soda. It tasted quite watery, and the sugar crystals hadn't dissolved, so I had to crunch them at the bottom to get any sweetness.
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
Modern restaurant. Seems quite new. Staff very attentive and it's great to finally have Vietnamese food in Pasadena. Wasn't too busy on a weekday for lunch. Shrimp eggrolls were good to start and their house made fish sauce was a hit for me. It wasn't overly salty or fishy. I can't speak for the food our friends had but we were all satisfied and fairly pleased. My filet mignon vermicelli noodles were good. I appreciate it all being less greasy than most. And I'm glad there's a good spot in Pasadena. Yes, I'd come back. Metered street parking or paid parking structures all around. Clean restaurant with a good ambience for a casual yet refreshing dining experience.

Yelp
i'm so happy nha trang has another location because the bun bo hue from here is top tier status! i go to the san gabriel location at least twice a month and all i can say is that they're generally pretty consistent. this location does give you a little side of extra chili oil sauce to add to the broth, the dish does not come with pork blood by default (which i prefer!!!), AND you get unlimited noodle refills... the only thing that would be a downside is having to find and pay for street parking but otherwise, the service and food here is so so wonderful :*
google avatar

Celine K.

Yelp
i think this is a great neighborhood spot for pho. i loved the broth and the quality of the beef. the passionfruit tea was good too
google avatar

Travis P.

Yelp
I actually enjoyed this location more than the original spot in San Gabriel! Definitely the best bun bo hue spot, anything else isn't too bad but definitely get the bun bo hue here. This spot is MUCH nicer than that of the original location in SG. They have a good amount of tables and I didn't have to wait at all on a Friday night. Food wise I felt the flavors were better than I remembered. They make authentic bun bo hue and I would recommend paying extra for the blood because it is super fresh. I would totally be back at this location for quality BBH. Parking - Many parking structures nearby or limited street parking around.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Great service for a party of 7 kids and 4 adults. Food was good. Parking isn't too bad being in old town Pasadena. We'd return, esp with a big group.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Fantastic pho and filet mignon noodles. Fresh and high quality ingredients, ample portions, delicious deep flavors and great service.
google avatar

Mariko F.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after work and all the usual spots were closed. So glad that we were able to try this place out. Not only were the staff friendly, and the tables, floors and everything clean, the food was delicious. The sauces are all made in house and the broth for the pho was so clean tasting and flavorful.
google avatar

Carrie M.

Yelp
I ordered the bun bo hue and pork egg rolls. The egg rolls are great and the bun bo hue is filling with a good amount of meat. Something to note: if you dine in and end up getting a refill of noodles, that voids your chance of taking any leftovers home. They advertise free unlimited noodle refills but read the fine print because once you opt in, the "not available for takeout" applies to your entire meal lol even egg rolls (this was not super clear imo)
google avatar

Cynthia P.

Yelp
Spring rolls were good. Thoughtful of them to include scissors on the plate. Heard the pho was tasty but I didn't try any. Free noodle refills are a plus too. My filet mignon vermicelli was kinda whatever. I did not like the flavor of the meat at all. Had to douse the beef in fish sauce. Maybe they need a different meat or method of cooking it. Self serve to go boxes available. Ask staff for sauce containers. Parking garages nearby.

Yelp
Authentic Pho and Bun Bo Hue! You'll be welcome into their open dining room. They offer the essentials for a Pho restaurant. Their staff are all friendly and nicely caring each bowl of noodles to you. Both Pho or Bun Bo Hue broth was pure yet tasteful. You won't taste any Msg or need to chug down a cup of water. Each bowl is fully stacked with slices of well-balanced meat. It was not just lean, but tender with marble lines of fat. Side toppings also included a great wedge of lime with sprouts, jalapeño, radish, lettuce, shrimp paste and basil. This helped added more flavors to the overall bowl.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I were craving some delicious Pho on a cold winter night and stopped in to discover the amazing Nha Trang culinary delight. We were welcomed by a friendly woman, whom we later found out was the owner, in a very light, bright spacious interior decorated for the holidays. When we entered around 6pm, there were about four people inside. Once we sat and looked over the menu, the place slowly filled up with 15-20 more patrons. The menu is straight forward and full of Vietnamese classics. On this occasion, my girl went with the Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle with Beef Soup), while I went with the Pho Bo Vien (Meatball Beef Noodle Soup). We also ordered a three-piece starter, the Cha Gio Cua (Pork and Crab Egg Rolls). For drinks, we kept it simple with water and hot black tea. As the restaurant quickly filled to near capacity, we noticed other employees, some of which were family, jump in to assist the rush. Our egg rolls were delivered within 10 minutes of ordering and came out very hot and very fresh. We had to wait several minutes for the temperature to go down, or else risking a visit to the ER with upper mouth skin burns. Once I was able to nibble a small amount and confirm a manageable temperature, we were met with an outstanding egg roll. Great outer crunch, crispy, with the inside ingredients totally delicious and without any kind of sogginess. The accompanying sweet and sour was also quite yummy, not too sweet, with a slight amount of heat. A few minutes later, two very large bowls were delivered to our table. The presentation was amazing, very large bowls of noodles, perfectly seasoned broth, and all of the traditional vegetable additions featured in any Vietnamese restaurant. My girlfriend said her soup was quite delicious. As far as my Pho Bo Vien goes, it was outstanding. The meatballs were tender and delicious and the noodles were amazing! Also, little pro tip - you can ask for free refills on noodles while you dine in! Pace your noodle and broth ratio, however, as there is no refills on the broth. A free refill on noodles is a definite perk on top of very reasonable prices. Overall, Nha Trang is a great Pho spot in Downtown Pasadena. Conveniently located near a parking garage, this spot is great to enjoy individually or with a small group. Wonderful staff, great food, clean restrooms.

Yelp
Nha Trang Vietnamese Cuisine is bringing some authentic Vietnamese flare to the Pasadena area! This family-owned spot has its original location in San Gabriel and recently opened another location in Old Town Pasadena. To get here, there are some parking garages nearby or street parking all around. Inside, they have a nice and clean modern interior with about 8-10 tables for seating. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner around 7pm and were seated right away. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different appetizers, noodle, and rice dishes. We opted to get a spread of the Nem Cuon (Pork Sausage Spring Rolls), Pho Dac Biet (Combination Pho), and the Bun Bo Hue. Everything we had was authentic, delicious, fragrant, and hit the spot! Overall, this spot is definitely a welcome addition to the area! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Another plus is that they also give free refills for their soup noodle dishes. Come stop by and support this awesome AAPI family-owned business whenever you are in the area. Nha Trang Vietnamese Cuisine is Viet gang approved!

Yelp
My friend recommended this place for lunch and I recall seeing social media posts of this location when it first opened. First off, staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, which I really appreciated. We ordered the Pork and shrimp rolls, along with a bun bo hue. The bun bo hue came with raw vege to be added, giving a nice texture to the meal. The broth was savory and delicious, and very welcoming on a cold day. The meat was also tender and hearty. An enjoyable meal that's worth a visit if you are lost on where to grab a bite to eat. Interior was spacious and clean. Will return!

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
We've been eyeing this spot so close to us in Pasadena and finally made the walk over! It's bright and clean inside. The artwork and decor is really nice and I think they may have gotten new menus but it was really easy to read/understand. Simple menu with soup noodles like pho and BBH, dry vermicelli noodles, broken rice, and some spring roll for apps. I opted for the BBH. Something to note is that pork blood is extra $1.50 to add to your BBH. The menu also says there is unlimited noodle refills if you'd like. Price is reasonable at $17. The bowls are pretty large and they give you the paste on the side. We loved the paste and added probably like 3 of them to give our broth some deeper flavor. The pork feet piece is on the smaller side but cooked really well where it's super gelatinous and tender. Overall, a good bowl of BBH and we're happy to have a spot to go to in Pasadena!
google avatar

Nicole I.

Yelp
I haven't dined in here yet, but I've ordered from here multiple times when I'm craving Vietnamese food. To me, there aren't many good Vietnamese spots in Pasadena and when I first moved here I was sad about it! I'm happy that Nha Trang opened up because it's now my go-to! I've ordered the Beef Pho and the Chicken Pho. I really enjoy the broth that they have even on its own without all the typical pho fix-ins. The Chicken Pho comes with this I believe ginger sauce? I'm not too sure what it is but it's really good and I like the tang it adds when I dip the chicken in it! Definitely need to dine-in eventually and want to try their drinks as well!

Yelp
We went to the Kidspace Museum and afterwards wanted some Vietnamese food. Yelped for restaurants near me, and this location popped up! We kept it simple and ordered 2 Bun Bo Hue and one vegetable pho for my DIL. She loved hers and commented on how rich the broth tasted despite it being vegetarian. My hubby and I both loved the broth of our Bun Bo Hue. The lemon grass flavor came crashing through and that, in my humble opinion makes the soup!! As a side note, I tried their salty/sweet plum drink and loved it! Additionally, the employees/owners were all so welcoming and friendly. Although not from the area, we will definitely return to try the other items on the menu.
google avatar

Ves S.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner! On a Sunday night was pretty full but people were seated and served quickly. Each table has the condiments and utensils much like other Vietnamese hole in the wall noodle shops. You can choose the disposable bamboo or reusable hard plastic chopsticks. We got the brisket pho and filet mignon cold noodles. The pho soup had a clean taste and was great slurping to the last drop and meat was tender. The cold noodles were refreshing but could use more veggies! Prices are around $17 per entree so on the higher end for Vietnamese but it's priced right for Old Pasadena.
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
Really happy this location opened in Old Town. I've been going to their other location in Monterey Park for a while now. There is a parking structure right next door to the restaurant, but might be more of the pricier lots. Max price to park is $14 or $4 every 20 mins. The restaurant itself was very nice, welcoming and clean. Service was superb. There are a good amount of seats inside. My go to every time I eat here is Bun Bo Hue - Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and the portion size is good. Their menu ranges from Pho, Spring Rolls, Rice Dishes to Vermicelli. A little bit for everyone. My only thing is the restaurant echos, so if it gets loud it's really hard to hear what someone is saying across from you, other than that I'm just happy this place exists. Enjoy!
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
service was amazing and everything was pretty standard. I thought the broth could be more flavorful. I don't usually add sriracha and hoisen to my soup but needed to at this location. I never miss a comforting bowl of pho so it really helped hit the spot. The service as i mentioned was really great. the staff are super friendly and gave my child a child sized bowl, utensils and a pair of scissors to cut her noodles. this was so thoughtful and I love when they take special attention to details like this!

Yelp
Found this spot and OMG I am so glad we found it. For starters the place is super clean and the lady assisting us whose name is Joanne was so friendly and welcoming. I must say the chicken pho in the traditional beef broth was amazing and the dipping sauce she gave me for the chicken was so delicious. We tried this pork sausage Nem Cuon and to my surprise was so good. Now the Bun Bo Hue yikes! We substituted the thick vermicelli noodle for pho noodle and got it without the trotter. I must be very specific when I say the flavor profile is so packed with flavor that it is a must try! Another lady came over to check in on us and we had a brief conversation and later I found out it was one of the owners. Nha Trang thank you for the service, delicious food and providing a great overall experience. We will be back when we return to Pasadena.
google avatar

Eduardo V.

Yelp
The service was very good at this restaurant with them being very attentive. The food was very tasty and the presentation was very good. I really like what I ordered in the ambience was nice as well being in downtown Pasadena.
google avatar

Kit T.

Yelp
I'm already a fan of the San Gabriel location of Nha Trang and was excited to try the new location in Pasadena. This location is more modern and spacious compare to the SG location. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and my bf ordered the Bun Bo Xao along with eggrolls as the appetizers. The Bun Bo Hue is my favorite noodle dish to order because of how flavorful and umami the broth is. Usually, the noodles come with pork blood but this location charges extra. The Bun Bo Xao was such a refreshing dish to have with all the lettuce and herbs. The fish sauce that comes with the dish was just right not too sweet and salty. The eggrolls were so fresh and crispy to eat. It's best if you eat it wrapped with lettuce and dipped it into the fish sauce. Highly recommend this place for authentic Vietnamese food in Pasadena.
google avatar

Yelp
Nha Trang Pasadena, the little sister of the San Gabriel and Monterey Park locations! NT Pasadena may be the little sister, but she holds the same great flavorful tastes as the other Nha Trang locations. If you love pho, Vietnamese appetizers, vermicelli, rice, and other drinks and dishes, Nha Trang doesn't disappoint! You're in for a treat here. You get authentic, flavorful, fresh dishes. It's delicious. I love their pho (ask for more noodles if you want, it's free refills on noodles), their neum cuon (pork meatball spring rolls), and fried egg rolls. Thanks to Connie (the owner) and team, you all always provide that exceptional customer service. They're always checking on us, filling up the waters, checking to see if we're okay. I like how the owner is boots on the ground and doing all the wait-staff work. The parking can be a bit of a pain, there's a parking structure next door that charges $5 for an hour so that's my go to lot (side note: be careful of the 3rd floor self-pay machine as they charged me $10 and I had to dispute it with the company). All in all, Nha Trang is very clean, modern, and welcoming. Definitely be back soon! Thanks Connie! ;)

Yelp
I have been here a couple times. But this is the first time I tried their vegetarian pho. I am not a vegetarian so I had it with beef broth. It was a wonderful array of vegetables like squash, acorn squash, different types of mushrooms, cabbage it was excellent. So happy it wasn't just broccoli and carrots like you usually get. There are so many great vegetables out there, I appreciate that the variety was different than what you normally get. The service and the staff is also super great they are friendly and very attentive.

Yelp
The papaya salad was the best I've had! Bun Bo hue was alright, lacking flavor profile. Service was good!

Yelp
Loved their bun bo hue, which is their speciality. Broth is really flavorful from the lemongrass and other seasonings. Priced at $16.99, which is on par with the price of pho at other restaurants around SGV, the sliced beef is pretty tender and the portion is pretty generous. Noodles weren't overcooked. Definitely something I would get again. Passionfruit black tea was a good choice too - super refreshing to have on a warm day and not too sweet, and they even give free refills. However, the grilled pork rice paper rolls were kind of a letdown, especially when it was priced at 12.99 for just 2 medium sized rolls. This was a bit surprising to me because they sell it for about $8 at their San Gabriel location. Also, I've seen places like Nem by Summer Rolls sell their pork rolls for the same price, but they include 4 large rolls that it's almost a meal. The flavor was just okay. I didn't think there was anything that really stood out about it for the price, so I'd rather get this somewhere else. Service was excellent and speedy. We ordered 4 things and everything came out all at once within 2 minutes after ordering.
google avatar

Haena S.

Yelp
Pho tai was okay. Broth was a bit bland. Noodles were cooked well. They had all the fixings for pho. The rocket shrimp was fried fresh and piping hot!

Miranda C.

Yelp
FOOD: Bun Bo Hue [9/10]: Their Bun Bo Hue is the best I've ever tasted. The soup is so flavorful and just cooked so well. The meat could be a bit more tender though. Spring roll [9/10]: I got the pork and shrimp spring roll and it tasted so fresh. Also liked how there was a thin egg roll inside, it really added a nice crunch to the spring roll. Also that peanut sauce is divine. SERVICE: great and attentive service. Food came out fast.

Yelp
Finally!! Authentic pho and BBH! I work nearby and used to literally try every pho place within 12 mins driving radius to find a decent pho place... I was so happy when these guys opened. SO Delicious!! My one bad experience, one time I rushed here to eat pho because I was starving, my earphone broke so I listened to a work call on speaker but kept it low and near my ears. Nobody was in the restaurant, the lady came and told me to take my phone off speaker. I apologized, and followed directions. I just don't want cell phone radiation right next to my head so it's rare I do this, but the music was also loud lol so I couldn't hear the call. Again no one else was in the restaurant at this moment. I felt like a kid who got scolded. The pho didn't taste good anymore... I finished and rushed to finish my day at work... and was a little sad lunch wasn't as good that day. Parking, be careful... it's only $5 (in small print) if you stay for I think less than ten or fifteen mins... otherwise I think the ramp is $10+ even if you eat real fast for a 30 min lunch. I wish they had parking validation. Street parking is cheap and nice, so if you are meeting someone and want to do street parking then just come early so you can take your time looking for a close and decent spot. But yes... for the most part the lady and employees are very nice.... The food is very good and authentic. I'd recommend... it will probably become your new favorite spot too.

Yelp
Very tasty and fresh. I would recommend because it also recommended to me. Price range was great. One entry was enough for 2.

Yelp
Finally, a legit Viet restaurant in Old Town Pasadena!! Tiffany (niece of the owners of the San Gabriel location) spent multiple years building this location, and they were finally able to open just a week ago. The food - fire. Legit BBH, flavorful pho. And get this: free noodle refills! Decor is modern a fresh, and there's awesome oldies music playing out of the kitchen. Staff is friendly , and Tiffany is active in helping and greeting guests herself. They even have a hand wash station - how thoughtful! Definitely will be coming back.

Yelp
On my recent last minute trip to LA to see the Rose Parade, I got the chance to stop by this wonderful spot in Pasadena. This spot looked really clean and modern. When we arrived, there was only one other party there, but it quickly filled up within 30 minutes. There was one girl working and she was doing a phenomenal job! As food started coming out, more staff popped up. I ordered the beef vermicelli noodles and though they were fantastic! I loved all of the veggies and peanuts that were in it to give it a great fresh taste. The umami sauce that it came with really tied the whole dish together. This spot is part of the busy downtown area so I imagine parking would be difficult on a regular day.

Yelp
We just discovered this location, so we decided to give it a try. For a Friday night, we were surprised to be seated immediately. The food was delicious and much more convenient than driving to SGV or OC when you want a Vietnamese fix. We will definitely be returning again soon

Yelp
2 stars for friendly service, but I wasn't a fan of the food. Chicken pho: the texture of the chicken pieces were weird to me, they had a note of fishiness as well. I ended up fishing them all out. Egg rolls: unseasoned, bland, even with side sauces Vietnamese iced coffee: decent. I was bummed through the experience.

Yelp
I came for the dinela and it was a wonderful experience. We were seated immediately. The waitress was very nice. The food was really delicious. I got the pork and shrimp egg rolls, passion fruit tea, and spicy beef soup. I was very satisfied with the meal, especially for the price. You should definitely support this business.

Yelp
We came here for lunch with a large group of coworkers. We each placed our orders in and our drink orders. Most of us wanted just water. The water didn't come until after we had finished half our food and asked for it again. The service lacked but the food was pretty good. I got the spicy beef soup with thin noodles and no pork. The soup wasn't spicy but it comes with extra chili paste you can add in it or sriracha.

Hello K.

Yelp
I'm Asian and lived nearby about 20 years ago, back when most of the food catered to white tastes and the Asian options were pretty bad. That's definitely not the case anymore. It's not the cheapest spot, but the Vietnamese aunties really know what they're doing. The beef pho is absolutely deliciou

Yelp
I'm so glad they opened a new location in Pasadena! Their bun bo hue is delicious, with generous portions and a lot of meat. The best part is they offer noodle refills. For all soup noodle dishes, if you dine in, you get refills on noodles! The menu is extensive with so many different options, and everything is freshly made. The service was great, and the vibes are cute. There's a parking garage right next door and street parking available if you get lucky. They have great drinks, too--passion fruit black tea (with free refills), Vietnamese coffee, pennywort, and more. Highly recommend checking this place out!
