I recently tried Nha Trang in Old Town Pasadena and thought it was okay overall. I ordered the Bún Bò Huế and my boyfriend got the chicken phở and egg rolls.
My Bún Bò Huế was decent, but I’ve definitely had better. I added the blood cakes, which were unfortunately too soft and mushy — they could’ve been cooked a bit longer. Also, the bowl had a lot of meat, which some might like, but it felt a little overwhelming for me.
The egg rolls were really good — crispy, flavorful, and probably my favorite part of the meal. My boyfriend wasn’t too impressed with his chicken phở, saying it needed more flavor, though he did mention the chicken itself was nicely cooked and tender.
Overall, the food was just okay for us. I appreciated the portion sizes and service, but flavor-wise, there’s room for improvement.
