Nick the Greek Opens in Houston, Plus Black Restaurant Week Continues | Eater Houston

"I'm excited that restaurateur Nick Tsigaris is bringing more gyros, pitas, and Greek plates to Kingwood with the Houston area's first Nick the Greek; to celebrate the grand opening, the chain offered free lunch on Tuesday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Established in 2014 in San Jose, CA by “Baby” Nick Tsigaris and cousins Big Nick and Little Nick (all named after their grandfather), Nick the Greek is known for gyro meats cooked on a traditional vertical rotisserie, charbroiled souvlaki skewers, zesty sauces and fresh vegetables, and Greek sweets including loukoumades—divinely sweet honey puffs prominent throughout the Mediterranean." - Kayla Stewart

First time trying Nick the Greek, and I’m honestly disappointed. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl, and they really played in my face — I could count how many pieces of steak I got (about five), which is wild for a $16 meal. I went through the drive-thru, and the staff was cool — I mentioned it was my first time, and she even gave me some pita bread to try, which I appreciated. But for the price and portion, it just wasn’t worth it.

Good flavor, modest value. I ordered the beefteki pita which both tasted great. The beefteki was a fair portion for the price, and also properly cooked, and well flavored. The fries were not particularly crispy, but were still solid and had for seasoning. The main issue I have is that the order was beefteki wrap cake with fries, and while I technically got what I ordered the portion of fries was pretty small. It came with perhaps a dozen fries, which was just enough to tease me into getting a full order. Touché. You win this round Nick.

Love the Greek food! I had the Mediterranean steak bowl and I was very suprised at how much I enjoyed it as ive not had much Greek food in the recent past so it was great to have something that impressed me from a fast food restaurant. The steak was very tender and mouthwatering! The rice went well with the dish also all around awesome meal and healthy! 10/10 in my book highly reccomend.

It’s my first time trying this place. I ordered the beefteki pita, was very delicious and healthy, it was the perfect late night craving. The girls that took my order were very sweet and patient as well. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Our food came out semi warm, however the cashier was awesome. The food was re-prepared and served. It has a unique flavor but not flavorful. The French fries were tasty to me however my husband did not like the flavor or overall food. My husband had the beef/ lamb gyro and I had the pork. If I ever visit again I will try the chicken. Please remember these are my experiences and only my options. Restaurant was very clean from what my eyes could see. Didn't see the restroom. There's also an outside eating area. Please stop by and give it a try...

I thought this place was great. Food was delicious and portions generous, including kid’s plate and “froyo.” Lots of protein options, too. All of the reviews here say the food is great, so not sure why it doesn’t have 5-star average. Staff was super friendly the day I went. I’ll definitely be back, especially for the Mediterranean bowl.

Update: Seems to have reopened! Oh joy! 😁 I am so excited to have a good Mediterranean restaurant near by! I went last week and got the chicken bowl. I took it home and gave my daughter a portion before taking the pic. It was a very generous portion and everything was amazing! I'm not really a gyro meat fan so was pleasantly surprised when I bit into a moist and flavorful piece of chicken! The whole thing was so good! I also ordered the soup, which was decent, but that was after I bit into the amazing bowl. So I was more focused on that. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much for coming to the Kingwood/Humble area! We'll do our best to help keep you in business!

we went today for the grand opening, Waited in line for about two hours from 11 AM to about 1 PM and scored a $40 meal for free, which was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food flavorful and filling. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit and plan to go back. Also, we got samples of their frozen custard/frozen yogurt, which was to die for, excellent. On our experience today, I would highly recommend you check out this place.
