"The North Oakland pizza spot specializes in damn good thin-crust sourdough pies. And they're serving them in a bigger space just up the street from their original location. You can order them in two different sizes (12 and 16 inches) and build your own with toppings like homemade pork sausage and pickled cherry peppers. Other reasons that'll keep you coming back: Nick’s housemade bread, spacious patio, and pretty solid deli sandwiches." - Lani Conway

Outdoor seating and self cleaning so there isn't much service. We ordered two pizzas and a salad. They ran out of the hot coppa. Quite pricey for pizza, but the economy isn't doing well so it makes sense. Overall, pizza represents affordable, comfort food; but this place is neither affordable nor comforting.

It was my grandpa's birthday and he loves pizza plus it's a rare treat. Decided to try Nick's and paid $40 for a combo pizza but it was so disappointing. It had burnt crust all around (top and bottom) and the flavor was average. Fam agreed that it was not worth the price ratio. By the way I did not tip for the take out pizza and don't know if that had a factor in how it turned out.

I've had been all over the country and I've been to high-end spots and low and spots and I've had the tragedy of pain for a slice of pizza for 14 bucks and I've done the questionable thing I've paid for a slice of pizza for a buck. So I saw this spot and told the kids. This is where we're going to eat lunch now. There is no parking so we had to park in the residential street parking which wasn't that difficult. We just got lucky I think because it was a cold afternoon but there was tons of outdoor seating and let me tell you when I saw the prices. I was kind of skeptical but the place is super clean, super organized and everything is really well labeled. But when we got our pizzas we ordered probably like five slices. But they ended up giving us like double the slices and you know my partner never questions the price of anything. So he thought paying 40 bucks for five slices or whatever it was was fair and I just thought well we'll take these slices home and this will be our dinner. These slices were phenomenal. I sat here outside in the cold eating it and thinking to myself. I could have my son's birthday party here. These slices are so good. I could convince my family who lives 100 miles away to come here to have a slice of pizza outside on a patio table and you know what they're going to b**** about it until they have that slice and when they eat it, they're going to be like. Yep, it was worth the 100 mile drive. I've been to New York and had pizza. I've been to Chicago and had pizza. I've been to Detroit and had pizza and let me tell you I'm just so baffled and just blinded and so excited that there is a place that has such good pizza and it is so close to my work that I'm literally like shaking and crying because like I have the opportunity to have good pizza in my life and it's such a good price like a slice of pepperoni was like four bucks. I took a picture of it. I don't remember it right now as I'm writing but all the prices were fair. Bottom line, this is good pizza. You need to come fight the parking come walk. Do what you got to do to come here but this is good pizza.

I have been dying to try this pizza with the sourdough crust and it did not disappoint. It was so delicious. I don’t want regular crust pizza again. I ordered the Guajillo Mushroom (Sept. special) every topping mattered and made sense, it even had pickled onions and a cilantro salsa as a finish. We had asked to add pepperoni to half of it but the cashier said they wouldn’t because the weight would be off. Husband was disappointed but once we got the pizza we understood why and appreciate that everything is thought of. He loved it even without the pepperoni. The crust was crispy on the outside, airy and light on the inside, seasoned well, just perfect! I’m hungry thinking about it and wish I wasn’t working so I could go and eat there right now. The patio is very spacious and dogs are allowed outside. They also had baguettes and pastries which look great, looking forward to trying them all.

Google
Excellent bagels! The onion bagel was very good: great bite and chew. It's remarkable for a pizza place. Also, there's no long line. The Philly brand cream cheese is in a small container. The potato pizza, finished baking when ordered, had a perfect thin crust, great topping-to-cheese ratio, and was finished with house-made pesto. The staff are very nice and friendly.

Google
Beautiful day deserves a beautiful lunch so my friend and I trekked to nick’s. We shared a sandwich: turkey and mortadella and Swiss cheese on a delish Dutch crunch. Good sized, $12.50. We shared a slice of pizza - fantastic crust . Would love it to be a wee bit bigger but it was priced at $3.85 so reflects. There were some YUMMY LOOKING sweets, but I already had to restrain myself. Service was friendly, food came quickly. We sat outside under a table with an umbrella and life was good!

Google
Evolved over the years into the best pizza shop in Oakland. First rate crust and sauce; their cheesecake was out of control good. Excellent baguettes & pull-apart cheese bread. A+ service!

Google
A great place to buy a good solid breakfast or lunch / dinner food. They have great recipes, excellent locally sourced ingredients and good service. They are one of the better restaurants with regard to marking the ingredients / characteristics of each dish / item. Gluten free bread and pizza crust that actually are readily available and used in many of the pre-configured pizzas and other dishes. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also well marked. I definitely recommend the thin sourdough pizza crust with any number of the different pre-configurations of inventive flavors, utilized by the chefs each week depending on what fresh ingredients are in season and available from the local farmers who are selling directly to the restaurant. Pizza slices are large and filling without being greasy at all. This restaurant has the added benefit of being able to purchase pizza by the slice in addition to whole pies. They heat each piece in the oven right before serving, so you would never know that it was made a few hours previously and then held in status in anticipation of the constant string of guests. If their is a line, do not worry - it always moves forward quickly and service is definitely fast, friendly and reliable. Their baked goods are top notch as well. The olive loaf is a definite must try. And they consistently have the most amazing dark molasses ginger cookie! I am not usually a sweets person, but their ginger molasses cookies are criminally excellent. Not too sweet, perfectly chewy / crisp and a good strong flavor of both the ginger and the molasses. In addition, their breakfast sandwiches are very satisfying and well made. The business is a worker owned collective and the pride / happiness level is definitely evident. I always feel good about my interactions with the several people behind the front counter. They are very knowledgeable about every item (because they all have helped in the development process for each recipe) and they are patient when faced with so many yummy choices. Check the website for a current pizza menu including the special combinations for each month. Daily combinations are also available but not announced in advance or online. However, each one I have tried is both surprisingly delicious and inventive. Definitely not toppings I would ever think of trying myself! Large outdoor dining area is great for small groups, people with pets on leashes and customers who ride bicycles and need secure parking while eating. They are not open 7 days a week unfortunately, so check their hours before swinging by for a bite. Happy dining!

Yelp
If I could, I'd eat Nick's Olive and Herb pizza everyday! Pizzas are delicious, that crust especially, as are the other baked goods and bagels! Staff are always so friendly, and it's simply such a cool spot in North Oakland.

Sophia X.

Yelp
Nick's is the GOAT. We had seen this place for years while living in Oakland but for whatever reason we never went. Now it's the only place we'll go. Their crust is amazing, and I never feel bad after eating it. We had the sausage, pesto, potato, and onion pizza tonight and it was probably the best pizza we've ever had. So good every time.

Russ S.

Yelp
Good pizza, tasty and hot. Quite spendy however, as the smallest pizza available was $38 plus gratuity. Nice people, but no parking.

Alex Auto Repair A.

Yelp
Good people Good and quality bakery Good place to grab some good bagel / sandwich/ pizza I try them all good worth to try

Mollie L.

Yelp
Excellent sourdough pizza! I love that you can get a custom pizza. The staff is really friendly. My husband ordered a snickerdoodle. They brought him an extra for free because they said the cookies came out a little crispy that day. How nice! Parking is a little tricky. We luckily found close by street parking but just be aware. Plenty of tables outside.

Lindsay S.

Yelp
I placed an online order 2/6 for two sandwiches $36.80,paid and was immediately notified via phone that they were cancelling my order and refunding my money because they aren't making sandwiches today. This actually happened to me twice the other time on 1/15. Why offer a product if you can't fill the order. They never refunded my $36.80 from 2/6 and I have reached out to them 4 times through email for the refund and first they said they would be refunding the order right away but that never happened. I've reached out several more times and been ignored. What a horrible business model. Now I have to call my credit card company and dispute this transaction. What a waste of my time. Never going back to the disappointing place.

Anya T.

Yelp
I drove by this place and had never been. They have multiple flavors of pizza by the slice. Their puzza is very good. The crust taste like the best, freshest San Francisco sourdough but very tiny crust which I love. Their perocini pizza was my favorite followed by the white pue which is without sauce. The only thing that would make it better is fresh spinach. I just don't care for frozen spinach even I can't cook that and make it taste right.

Felinn A.

Yelp
Loved everything about this place! Such a cool daytime spot to visit. With lots of outdoor seating, friendly staff, and delicious pizza slices. We can for an early lunch and beat the rush! Food came out fast, place started to get packed, and everyone was chowing on different types of pizza. First time trying sourdough pizza and it was soooo good! Nice balance of crunch and chew for a thin pizza. They also have desserts, coffee and baked goods! Definitely a gem of Oakland, where you can relax and enjoy eating right by the street. Check this place out for food to go or to have a nice meal outside.

Rob M.

Yelp
I always laugh at this because "Nick's Pizza" was the name of the place that came up on 'The Blacklist' when Reddington called. I think their pizzas are very good, and their prices are reasonable except for the side salads which are like $14.50--srsly people?

Chad P.

Yelp
Almost missed the place but Anh Phoong turned us around and we found the Grand Entrance. We were happy to find out that this place is Queer owned and operated and also Minority owned and operated and All Are Welcome. They allow NO ANIMALS (with the) EXCEPT (ion of some - read small print) animals. We would have accepted and we expected no less. Happy to see they have Free Palestine but I think they were out that day. Nick's has outdoor seating only. What a great beer garden type setting to drink a stein of pale ale but alas the sign said "no liquor license". A beer and wine license is all they need to take this place to the moon. As it was raining, I carried the best tasting deliciously crusted piping hot pizza over the threshold of our car and it was love at first to last bite. The only negative? The Check Please review on TV said they have pastrami. We drove there 20 miles for a pastrami sandwich AND a pizza and Apparently Nick's hasn't had pastrami for so long the young cashier didn't know that pastrami is ! CHECK IT OUT.

Yelp
solid all around pizza! the perfect amount of crunch, dough sauce, and flavour! was so enjoyable

Yelp
My neighbor said this is the best pizza they ever had. Like they ate it all in the car on their way home good. So we decided to try it. It was good, kind of different, not amazing, IMO. Pizza - nice thin and chewy sourdough crust. If you don't like sourdough this is not the place for you. Needed more sauce. We had two different kinds of pizzas with meat - very salty. I think the cheese mix had Parmesan in it. On the expensive side but what isn't. They had some typical Cali weird pizzas with peaches and stuff like that. Personally not into that but if that's your jam, they get creative. Other food - there were a couple other things on the menu - salads boxed up to go looked decent. Ambience - nonexistent. This is primarily a to go place with the parking area turned into seating - there were maybe 10 tables. They don't serve beer or wine. There is a ramp to go inside so it's ADA accessible. Service - fine. Pizza took about 25 min on a relatively slow Friday - it came out when they said it would. Free water and you can buy a slice if you're starving. Which I did. If you're in the area give it a go, or if you're dying for sourdough crust, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

Yelp
Really great pizza! Gourmet style. Fantastic local business. And I love the Mexican chocolate muffin.

Mark H.

Yelp
Great pizza. Nice people. Good to takeout but also kind of a cool patio if one wants to eat there.

Briana V.

Yelp
They had such a good variety that suited a whole car full of soccer moms and soccer girls. From pastries , pizza and sandwich's everything was so tasty for the ride home. I purchased to slices of pizza, for focaccia bread, and a sandwich. Pizza was not greasy and flavorful, only complaint is I wish the sandwich has a tad more meat. The service was extremely friendly and helpful with a big group and really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was in a cozy neighborhood. I definitely recommend and will be returning.

Maileen M.

Yelp
New York style pizza with California flavors. I love seeing the staff cook the pizza as I'm ordering. Customer service is amazing as the staff represents the business values to be inclusive as possible. They have a free palestine poster too in front. The pizza itself is delicious. They have unique flavors that are seasonal like vodka, mushroom, etc. The cookies are huge like the size of Costco. Outdoor seating with lighting only. The only con I can think of is the street parking. Other than that, it's a good place to check out if you're in the area.

Yelp
After moving to Oakland almost two years ago from montara, I have ran, biked, Driven past Nicks and today I finally ate lunch there! I went with the daily slice special featured for 7/27; that was the " Greek Heirloom" and "tasty peach" I just got the Greek and it was yummy, and we'll balanced featuring cheese, crumbled feta, heirloom tomatoes and Kala olives, with a crispy yummy finish of Nicks Sourdough! My buddy got the pepperoni (2x slices for under 10$!) and enjoyed them. The service was great, the other food and bread, baked goods looked really good, as well as this sando I saw a girl eating. Go visit! And #pizzayoself'

Yelp
WOW!!! I'm an ex-new yorker who loves his pizza and though this isn't NY pizza (not that they claimed it was), it's outstanding pizza and the crust is amazing! We stumbled across Nick's driving to Berkeley and literally u-turned and stopped for lunch. It was one of the best decisions possibly in my life! Fun little parklet with seating outside, we ordered the White Pie and Asparagus Leek. The white pie was definitely the solid favorite by everyone (that's a must have), we liked the asparagus leek but the capers added maybe a little too much briney-ness. The crust though was fabulous! Real good crunch throughout the whole pie, I think it's sourdough base and the edge crust was fantastic. We loved the crust so much we also bought a sourdough batard to go and it's literally one of the best artisan loaves of bread I've had in the bay area. Great crust and flavor! I love the Pizza Coop in Berkeley, but the line for their 1 pie a day is insane. I think the pizza at Nick's is at least as good, possibly better and no line!!! And you can order what you want from multiple pies, not just the 1 they are making that day. No brainer...and I will make the detour any time to get pizza there. I'm literally thinking of swinging by this weekend again to pick up a couple more pies!

Lin L.

Yelp
I read that they did a vegan slice, but when I went in and asked, the counter guy said that there are no vegan options.

Michael E.

Yelp
I grabbed a slice of veggie pizza and a savory pesto bun here recently for lunch. It was alright, not the best flavor combinations. I'd try something different if i came back.

Craig G.

Yelp
All my respected elite peeps dig this zah. Apparently the sourdough crust is to die for. On a rainy Saturday afternoon I ventured forth. Not a lot of parking nearby but got lucky. Parked in to go slot. Nobody was eating in the lot as the rain was falling, a totally funk hippy vibe. I also got the date salad along with combo 2-go. Don't know if it was Nick but the pizza chef was hella friendly and appreciated my coming out. Upon arrival at home, Wasn't feeling the fresh kale on top of combo as it sent the zah to a bitter place. Plus traffic was crazy and it was a tad cold. So with more half left I'll have to heat it up in a skillet and try again. However i pulled all the kale off so we shall see!

Seth P.

Yelp
Nicks Pizza , the heirloom bacon Gorgonzola slice was okay. The peach scone and cheese scone are tasty. The service left a lot to be desired. Repeating my order four times and still being incorrect made me feel less than served. The parking is nonexistent. The locals must love Nick's and or accept the service I would entertain trying again .

Mabel C.

Yelp
First time here and customer service is exceptional! Parker and Dwight are so friendly and welcoming! Same with the staff who cooked the pizza when I picked up. We got two slices, four bagels, two Diet Cokes and a sourdough baguette to go. We decided to sit outside to enjoy our pizzas and the sun. After devouring the delicious pizzas, I decided to go back in line and ordered a slice of cheese and a 12" Midnight Special to go.

Magda M.

Yelp
Yummmm! Finally went for the first time and picked up a few pizzas for my friends family and me. The crust was awesome - I don't think I've ever had sourdough pizza before. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

Grace T.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure to stop by Nick's Pizza for lunch and it did not disappoint. The employees made me feel welcomed and provide me with suggestions on what their best seller was. We ordered the classic pepperoni and each slice was baked perfectly with that golden crust. The pizza was bursting with flavor as I took each bite. We also purchased a chocolate chip cookie and it smelled amazing. The warm chocolate chip melts in your mouth. One thing I like about Nick's pizza is their use of high quality ingredients and it's locally sourced. It's a slice of heaven making you want to keep going back.

Austin W.

Yelp
If you're looking for a good sourdough crust pizza, Nick's delivers a solid product. If you've had Arizmendi before, you'll already have a good sense of what you can expect in terms of texture for the crust. For a group of 6, we ended up ordering three large pizzas: Midnight Special - Pepperoni, Crimini Mushrooms, Side of Ranch, LHB -Melted Leeks, Heirloom Tomatoes, Brown Butter, Capers, and Figgy Piggy - Fresh Black Mission Figs, Shallots, Goat Cheese, Bacon, Fresh Arugula. We ended up with a half pizza for leftovers so it was the perfect amount. I enjoyed the fig pizza the most, as I love the contrast of sweet and savory, and the pepperoni one the least, since that pizza wasn't anything particularly special. Nick's gets insanely busy at dinner rush so expect wait times of over an hour. Overall, solid pizza for a premium price.

Edward S.

Yelp
Very friendly service... owners are doing something right as the staff seems enthusiastic and caring. First time visiting, blown away by the White Pie - contest worthy pizza. Appreciate the inclusive atmosphere as well. Looking forward to the next visit, don't forget the chocolate chip cookies!

Aron R.

Yelp
This was once a 5 star place when it came to bagels. Apparently now an afterthought only available on weekends. The hours have always been a problem and they moved from 5 days a week making bagel sammies, only until 11am, now to only 2 days. Pizza is great but there are lots of pizza places and it is easier to make them at home. Sad really, this was once my go to for bagel n lox classic, I told everyone about it. Shame. Closed for Mothers Day and Fathers day. I went 6 last times to be turned away for one reason or another (closed, new hrs, or no bagels) This one really hurt. Its not the quality, it is the lack of availability, the inability to form a habit.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Great thin and yummy flavors I had the pesto potato - out side eating only so take out is best on a cold day

Stephanie M.

Yelp
We were super hungry and always seemed to pass this place until we decided to give it a shot! I got a plain cheese pizza and my bf got some weird type of pizza. I couldn't remember the name to save my life lol. Our pizza was decent not very memorable tbh but I liked the customer service and the outside seating! But the one thing I can take away from this place would have to be the lemon bars!!! I absolutely am in love with lemon bars so when I seen they had some I had to buy them! Plus my bf said he never had one before, like what!?! Let my put you on real quick! He took one bite and was in love! So now every time we pass this place he asks me if I want some lemon bars!

Dmitri N.

Yelp
I love Nicks Period what else to say Which I could easily make last minute orders. That's my only beef.

Morgan Z.

Yelp
I drive by Nick's Pizza all the time and finally decided to stop in last week. The pizza we had was SO good, which we paired with the caesar salad. We tried the classic pepperoni pizza as well as a slice of the small potatoes. I really liked both of them but probably likes the small potatoes a bit more, but that's because I love white pizza. They had a ton of outdoor seating available when we were there, but no indoor seating. Currently, they are asking that you wear your mask when you come inside to order too. I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a slice or ordering a full pie to go.

Kyle M.

Yelp
Another day, another pie was ordered. Pictured are the only 2 slices left after we devoured a large pepperoni in 10 minutes lol. Nick's is the real deal! There was a $4 price bump, but still worth it IMO. Their dough is like nothing else and is always cooked perfectly. The flavor is on point! I never get sick of it! Top 3 favorite Za in the Bay for sure.

May Z.

Yelp
I drove by this place almost everyday all of last year and finally stopped in two weeks ago. I immediately loved the environment, the service, the options, the prices, and the quality! I have already been back. It is basically impossible to find a sandwich for $10. But at Nick's you can absolutely build your own sandwich, with cheese and choose your home made bread for TEN DOLLARS. Insane. Amazing. They clearly also specialize in pizza which always looks great but is not my go to food. They are essentially also a bakery, so I felt like I needed to try the pumpkin cream cheese muffin. It was so freaking good omg. They nailed it. I saw in their dessert case a chocolate mousse drenched in caramel... WOW be careful if you allow yourself to indulge in that heavenly treat because you will definitely want more. There is also a ton of outside seating. I love this place.

michelle r.

Yelp
Finally made it here . I got pizza and bagels. Delicious pizza. I just felt like it needed a bit more sauce. Will pick up a whole pie next time. Hope they have bialy's. Love them and miss them. I am from the east coast and those are my favorite. I made a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted plain bagel. The other a sesame bagel with cream cheese. Both were delicious.

Kamryn W.

Yelp
Pizza score: 5/10 If the pH 7.0 could be a pizza, it would be this pizza. Perfectly neutral. Neither great, nor bad. The sourdough crust aspect is interesting and was what ultimately brought us here. My husband loves sourdough and he loves pizza. Perfectly match. We did a motorcycle pizza adventure day and jumped around the East Bay trying out recommended za's. We both got the pepperoni slice, which was the only available slice with meat. The cheese and sauce wasn't really present, in neither a good way or bad. It just was there. The pepperoni was just fine. Since we rode in, parking wasn't an issue for us. Looking around, I have no idea how you could manage coming here in a car. No parking spots around to be seen. Would I come back? No. Would I tell someone to try this spot? No. Would I tell someone to not try this spot? No. pH 7.0.

Alexandra D.

Yelp
My favorite pizza place in Oakland! They really know how to make a fantastic sourdough crust and they have such a great variety of red and white pizzas! Everyone working there is so friendly and we've never had to wait too long for a pie to come out. My husband and I love grabbing a pie and enjoying it in their outdoor area, or we'll order from the website for pick up for a night in. You can't go wrong with Nick's!

Kate M.

Yelp
I mainly go here for the bagels and pastries, which I love. Coffee is not my fave but still drinkable and it's convenient to grab a cup with my bagel. I've gotten pizza here a few time and found the meat slices a bit greasy but the vegetarian slices have all been delish. It's a nice neighborhood joint and there's a good amount of outdoor seating. Counter service has always been friendly when I've been there. I hope more Oakland businesses explore the co-op model, it seems to be working well here.

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Updating my Nick's review! They moved to a larger space with a great outdoor area to get your eat on. So happy for them and for us in the neighborhood! The main reason for this review upgrade: They added sandwiches (at lunch time) to the mix and they are fantastic. Only 2 namesake sandwiches, the rest are build your own, but I'm ok with that. Although I'd love for them to make an Italian speciality sandwich, but maybe in the future? They make their own bread and they consist of quality ingredients and are impressive. I went with a turkey, fresh motz and all the fixings and I was like "yep, nailed it." So simple, yet so delicious. The sandwiches remind me more of the delis back on the East Coast, which I mean, should always be the goal when chatting about deli's. You can't order them online, so you have to roll up and place your order and wait, but all good. The pizza is still good, thinner sour dough crust. Pricey, but pizza is pricey these days, what can I say? Overall Nick's, the upgrades both in space and menu are super appreciated and enjoyed. Thanks!

Sammy T.

Yelp
My new favorite spot for pizza!! This place is INCREDIBLE. Sourdough pizza is the way to go if you don't want to feel that lethargic bloat after a meal. Maybe i was hungry, but i easily finished half the pizza myself. I loved that the pizza base was thin but crispy. Also love that they have seasonal specials (on top of their regular pizzas). I tried their seasonal special (the peaches and prosciutto one) and it was divine. I would 200% come back again and make this my go-to for pizza. Controversial thought: I think it's better than sliver or cheeseboard combined!

Linda N.

Yelp
WOW. I'm a simple girl and when it comes to pizza, the basic the better. We got the white pie and boy did it smell good. How did it taste? Amazing. The sourdough crust was crispy , not greasy, and soft but a sturdy foundation for the topping. Easy on the sauce and right amount of cheese. I had three slices but could've gone for 4-5 but had to make room for dessert. The strawberry cake (which is similar to Bakesale Betty) was delicious! It would be selfish of me to keep this place a secret but sharing the love because mi pizza su pizza. Definitely coming back.

Daniel O.

Yelp
Great foood !! Some of the best thin crust I have ever had ! The service is phenomenal everyone's nice polite. Very aware that your there and doesn't give you the customer cold shoulder ! I thinkAnd a food came out in such a great decent time 10 minutes or less ! they will just

Susan P.

Yelp
Everything here is way beyond amazing. No matter what you get it is handcrafted goodness !! This is good down home food done gourmet all the way!! We are always amazed each time we enjoy such refined high level food preparation techniques and unique bakery items so pleasing to sight and palette . We love the relaxed casual atmosphere and the wonderful ambiance! Always a five star experience!!

Ricca Cathrina E.

Yelp
We had a wonderful Friday pizza night with the family. Kids had cheese and adults had pepperoni and veggie pizzas. The place is nice and the staff are very pleasant. It was our first time and it is best to order online ahead. We ordered online and arrived 2 hours after ordering, when pizzas were ready. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Been coming here since they first started up in their old location. Has been consistently one of our favorites for so many years. Unfortunately they are slipping and the last few times the pizza has been too thin, burned and the flavor isn't as good. Saying this in hopes that they'll get back to their magic recipe that has made Nicks top notch for many years.

Yelp
We're here visiting from AZ saw on the local news that this place was great and they did not disappoint the sour dough pizza was amazing as was the staff service. If you're near the area I highly recommend Nick's Pizza and don't forget to try their desserts.

Yelp
I finally had a chance to try out Nick's Pizza after a few years of living in Berkeley. I ordered online to celebrate the end of the first full week of 2021 (we all needed it...) and got a 16" sausage and rapini and and a 12" Japanese sweet potato. The order estimate was quite long (100+ minutes at 5:30pm) but that was my fault for not planning ahead earlier--you can schedule an order ahead of time online. Overall pickup experience was so-so only because the order was 30min late and had to wait outside until 7:45pm. It sounds like that night they were especially slammed due to a sudden uptick of orders--it happens, so I won't harp too much on that. The staff was still courteous and apologetic and moving as quickly as they could. As far as the pizza goes, Nick's definitely has its own distinct style (to which they call it "Oakland style" themselves). The crust is a little chewier, and it is sourdough. The pizza is also a lot less "heavy": I demolished five and a half slices of the sausage rapini. I probably would attribute it to the lack of greasiness--even after the meal, the box was noticeably absent of grease from underneath the pizza box. My s/o did remark that while the Japanese sweet potato pizza was really tasty, it could've used a bit more cheese--she's also used to more East Coast style pizza. The sausage rapini itself had a nice balance of spicy, sweet, and bitter between the sausage, rapini, chili flakes, and caramelized onions. Overall, very solid pizza--definitely wouldn't mind having Nick's Pizza again!

Yelp
Came by for lunch, I got myself a pepperoni small. It was alright. I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10. I just wish they had a Hawaiian option. Will be coming back for lunch again.
