I would have preferred the option to rank 3.5 stars, but since I can't do that, I rounded up.
We were greeted immediately upon arrival, but waited a bit to be seated, even though there was no one ahead of us in line and there appeared to be several open tables.
Once seated, we waited longer than normal to be greeted by a server and offered a beverage. This set the tone for what was an evening of waiting.
I had the wild mushroom pizza and my boyfriend had the chicken parm. I am usually one to photograph my food, but I was so hungry when it arrived that I totally forgot!
My boyfriend's chicken looked and tasted good. His review: "I'd order it again." Fair enough.
My pizza had so much potential, but fell flat due to lack of seasoning. I felt the bechemel lacked flavor.
I know the difference between bechamel and Alfredo. Bechamel is a simple white sauce consisting of flour, milk and butter, Alfredo sauce is made using heavy cream, butter, garlic, fresh parsley, and parmesan or cream cheese.
While I don't think the pizza needed the full flavor of Alfredo, I would have preferred a hybrid, as I felt the sauce needed salt and maybe a little garlic. I literally sprinkled my pizza with salt at the restaurant and that is just WEIRD!!
I loved the textures of the mushrooms, roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts, and the smokiness of the crust was nice. However, because of the lack of seasoning, it just didn't hit the mark for me.
Our server was very friendly and once our drinks and food finally arrived (we waited a long time for both), she was very attentive.
I am not sure if I will go back. There are lots of places to eat in Fort Collins and since I don't live there, I only repeat when the food/service is above and beyond.
