Google
This is a regular spot for my husband and I for our anniversary, and it hits the mark every single time! The short menu means everything is made at an impeccable standard, and it shows. We started with the fried mozzarella then had the lasagna and chicken piccata & it was so delicious - as expected. Thank you, Nick’s and all of the great staff, for always taking such great care of us!

Google
How are you gonna miss this place? Nick has worked so hard to keep this place a float in one of the hardest restaurant markets in the country. That right there should be an award. The great food, the great atmosphere, the great staff is what makes this place the nugget that it is in Fort Collins. Love this place and I’m sure you will too, swing on in for some really great food and good times!!

Google
The lunch offerings are amazing for the price and what you get. The sandwiches are huge and filling. The potato chips are to die for. Love the salted chocolate chip cookies. The service is great. I’m REALLY looking forward to dining in for dinner sometime as the burgers and carbonara are calling me. Seriously I don’t know why people would go to a chain sandwich shop with Nick’s around. Delicious Italian, Cubano, turkey club! Thank you for existing!!!

Google
First time in and overall was a good experience, staff was friendly, The booth we sat in felt like the cushions were worn out. The food was good I didn't care for the garlic bread it was more like toasted butter bread but good just not garlic ( it's miner but I like garlic) Food was a little slow to come out but again miner

Google
Busy Wednesday night at Nick's. The food is great but not cheap very reasonable for the quality.. 18 for a 10 pizza is not cheap..... But it's a great pizza. Went with a large group from out of town and they were all happy. A place to take a date or good friends. This is the kinda place you wish you had in your neighborhood.

Google
Very nice restaurant and our server was very attentive and helpful. For the price for the chicken parm, I wish they had given us more pasta. Some of the portions felt just a little small for what we paid. Overall though really nice atmosphere and excellent price for beers

Google
This is my second time having their chicken piccata, and it was so out of the park good once again. Way better than anything I could make at home, and is honestly probably my fav meal in town. Nick’s is our favorite Italian, the restaurant has such a nice vibe, the food is great and the servers (we had Ava this time) are so friendly, prompt, and communicative. Bonus points for playing Tame Impala and MGMT

Google
I’m a little confused at the good reviews for this restaurant. I get the impression it’s a locally owned place ran by good people so I do appreciate that. That said, I am pretty disappointed in the food. For example, we were served a pizza that was covered in burned Brussel sprouts that were also soaked in nasty fry oil. So it was a mediocre greasy cheesy pizza covered in extremely greasy burned black Brussels sprouts. Salads are ok. Plain and a bit boring. I just think they need to put a little more attention into the execution of their ideas. If you want to make a pizza with crispy Brussels sprouts on it, don’t burn them in the deep fryer. If you want to offer a nice salad, throw some fun fresh veggies in there and make it a little more exciting. We went a different time and had the chicken piccata and the dish overall was just meh, and the orzo was totally under cooked and crunchy. Another chicken dish came with latkes that were also very greasy. Will not be back to Nick’s.

Yelp
Ate at Nick's last weekend. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Attention to detail as each dish was presented beautifully. The calamari, fried mozzarella and wings were amazing! The pizza crust is perfect. I had spaghetti and meatball with their zesty sauce. So delicious! So glad we stopped in. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Great food but even better ownership and staff. My wife and I got out wedding catered from Nicks a few years back. We always try to eat here when in town, service keeps getting better and food is great as always. Recommend for a night out or catering!

Yelp
NOTE: WE WENT HERE FOR LUNCH WHEN THEY ONLY SERVE SANDWICHES And goddamn was it delicious. I had the Reuben and my fiance had the cold beef sandwich (can't remember what it's called) either way it was delicious and fresh. The service was very friendly, giving us enough time to order and the restaurant was clean and looked extremely nice. We will be coming back.

Yelp
Despite the great reviews recently, I was disappointed with Nick's. I'll start with the positives. Fun atmosphere in a converted Village Inn and conveniently located. The negatives are too much for me to go back. Our waitress wasn't unfriendly but not really friendly and had a "I don't like my job" attitude. Wife and I had salad and pizza. The Caesar salad tasted fine but the lettuce was all rusted. Old lettuce should never be served; especially when paying 12.50. Plus, the croutons are basically dried cubes of white bread. The pizza was not very flavorful and had burnt edges. Crust was so over cooked it crumbled into dried shards. Sorry Nick's. Lots of potential but with all the choices in the Fort, you have some work to do.

Yelp
Had the chicken parm. It was very very good - Great service as well! Everyone had a smile in their face but maybe it was the weather - dont know .

Tasnim A.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the chicken piccata. Made for a light but filling meal, the sauce was really good and the chicken was moist and flavorful.

Yelp
Mother-daughter dinner. We popped out to Nick's before the dinner rush. We were welcomed and seated quickly. We both love Italian food. It smelled heavenly in this place. They were already cranking to go pizza orders for the evening. We decided to start with the garlic bread with marinara. It was crispy with a tasty marinara for dipping. I went old school and ordered spaghetti with meatballs. What a treat! The meatballs are knife and fork worthy. I even had enough to bring home for lunch the next day. My daughter loves Carbonara so there was only one choice. The presentation was beautiful. The bucatini pasta studded with ham, bacon, and peas was swirled into a nest for the egg yolk on top. Pecorino Romano shaved across the top and a hint of mint provided the final layers of flavor. I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
Fun spot for a date night! Right next to CSU. We love their take on carbonara with a hint of mint. They're known for their burger and this was our first time trying it! Juicy and delicious with hand cut fries. Also tried the calamari which was delicious! I'm not usually a fan so this was a pleasant surprise. Solid contain and wine list, reservation recommend!

Yelp
Real Italian food w flavor. Tried Carbonara Chicken, Lasagna and Chicken Parmesan. Delicious Panacotta for desert. Very nice waitress. Located around CSU campus.

Yelp
Really loved going to Nicks. Our waitress ironically named Nikki was amazing. Good happy hour deals and great food.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and the food was absolutely fabulous! It's the best pizza we've ever had in our entire life My wife and I split a Greek salad and the local sausage pizza. We switched out the Fonteno cheese for the pecorino cheese, and it was unbelievably delicious at the top of our list for sure. Prices are fair for the quality of food that you get. It is definitely worth it.

Yelp
I miss the olden days when they were open during lunch with their full menu. We returned for dinner post-COVID and noticed a decline in the quality that used to be there. We were greeted at the door and made our way to the bar where the bartender took his time to acknowledge us even though the space was completely empty except for one regular at the bar. I ordered a wine on tap and my husband got a beer while we looked over the shrunken menu. I ordered the pesto pasta that desperately needed salt and added some of their meatballs to the top, and my husband got a relatively flavorless sandwich (it doesn't appear to be on the menu anymore). While I'll always have good memories of what this used to be, the service was lacking and the food was missing seasoning and fell flat. If not for my husband's sandwich, I would've given their new sandwich shop a visit for lunch, but I don't think we'll be back.

Yelp
If you come for anything, come for the calamari. SO GOOD. I get calamari everytime it's available, and this is the best I've EVER had. I got the chicken piccata and it was some of the best chicken I've ever had. Had a lot more vegetable than I anticipated, not that it was bad, just a word of warning. I would however skip the Bucatini Carbonara. Maybe it just wasn't what I was used to, but there was far too little sauce to justify the price. Service was quick, waiter spoke very little which i enjoyed. We sat in a booth in the corner, very nice, secluded and dark.

Yelp
This chicken picatta is easily one of my new favorite meals around town. I hope they never do away with it

Yelp
My boyfriend and I ate here after a strenuous hike at Lory's. The food and drinks were both phenomenal. Our server, Andrea, was welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and personable. Andrea even gave us a great gelato recommendation nearby, we went after dinner and it was also 10/10! We sat outside in the patio area, and the ambiance was pleasant, everything was clean, and the service was super fast! You can't go wrong coming to this place! We can't wait to come back next time we visit Fort Collins.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
Ordered the calamari kale Caesar salad. The portion was smaller than what you would expect for a child's portion.

Harlee S.

Yelp
Italian was on the menu for dinner and let me just say it was not what we expected. The actual menu is pretty cut and dry with a few pasta dishes and pizza options. I liked the space and use of the restaurant. Service was alright, a bit slow, but our waitress was nice and got us everything we needed. The food is shockingly lackluster. All of the dishes were negligent of salt and really seasoning of any kind. Cheesy Bread. Honestly, this was the best thing we had. The bread was soft and had just the right amount of everything. That marinara was the bomb! Penne Pesto. A hefty serving, but lacking in pesto flavor and pretty dry all around. Lasagna. The sunday gravy was great, but they cooked it a little too long and there was hardly any ricotta to counter the lasagna noodles. And it was pretty small, like only two layers of lasagna noodles is not a lasagna. Chicken Picatta. Beautiful presentation, but again, was lacking in flavor and needed salt to get it going. All in all, with such a small menu you'd think the dishes would be perfection. Sadly, don't think I'll be stopping by again.

Yelp
The absolute best service and food I've had in Fort Collins. Pasta and Pizza were amazing. Service was what you expect at a 5 star restaurant. Although labeled as a bar/restaurant I felt I was fine dining with bar food prices. Just great quality all around. Will be coming back.

Yelp
When I lived in Fort Collins 5 years ago, this was one of my favorite places to come. This past weekend, I was in town and decided to drop in and bring my partner. The staff was very friendly just as I remember. That's about it. The food isn't the same level as it used to be which is so sad. The pizza was mediocre at best. The meatball slider had a copious amount of pesto and I had to scrap majority of it off. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.

Kennedy L.

Yelp
excellent vibe, food, staff and ownership! Sundays are always a day to head over to have " Sunday Gravy ".
google avatar

Lara B.

Yelp
I can't believe this was my first time visiting Nick's! We went for happy hour and tried their meatball sliders, chicken parmesan hoagie, cheese and pepperoni slices. The melted cheese on the sliders and hoagie were on point! We decided to split the bucatini carbonara and not only did they split the pasta on two plates, each one of our plates had its own egg yolk (which totally makes the dish). From the amazing service we received at the bar with Luke, overall fun, lively ambience to the food, we will definitely be returning soon!
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Nick's is awesome! We take our family here when they visit for a good meal. The food is always great. The staff is excellent. Our favorite item on the menu is the Bucatini. Surprisingly though, the burger is one of the best we've ever tried! The wings are really good too. Sounds strange for an Italian place to have great burgers and wings, I know. But give them a try and you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Lara S.

Yelp
I'm sad to write this. Not the same place since we were there before. No more lunch service (unless you just want a sandwich) and it appears they no longer have a lot of the menu from before C19. Including the bolognese. We stopped in Ft Collins just to come eat here. Didn't want a sandwich so we had to go elsewhere. I really hope the next time we're in Ft Collins this place is back to normal. It was awesome.

Paige H.

Yelp
Great experience for this couple from Georgia. Super nice and friendly service, and the food.... the food was delicious! We got the chicken parm and the mushroom pizza... can't say enough! Thank you for your lovely hospitality! We will be back on our next trip to Fort Collins!
google avatar

Alan Michael K.

Yelp
The food is great. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. Went on a Sunday night and it was not too packed. Highly recommend if you are in Fort Collins.

Laurel M.

Yelp
Was visiting family in November and was VERY optimistic when my grandson stated "Nick's has real great pizza". Being from New York I was very doubtful and am quite happy to say Nick's raised the bar 110% on that optimism!!! The food was DELICIOUS, every signal appetizer and entrée, as I tasted them all, and our waitress was awesome and so attentive (sorry I forgot her name!!!). The family feel in this establishment was over the moon making for a great dining experience and loved the local feel of the bar. When we are back visiting Fort Collins this will be our must go to place for dinner!!!

Nicolas W.

Yelp
Awesome pizza and. Burger! Nicest service from front to back of the house! We sat right by the kitchen and watched the cook make pizzas all night. Great ambiance and the nicest owner ever! Thank you Nick!!!! My son loves his shirt!

Alex C.

Yelp
beware!!! first time and last time here! the only thing good about this place was the waitress. the meatballs were dry and flavorless, I ordered the chicken parmesan and it was dry n over cooked! the sauce was soo watered down, worse then hospital food! and then there were the fly's! the couple in the next booth asked to be moved because of the fly's. I couldn't finish my meal thinking about what the kitchen must be like with all the fly's in this place!! then the real kick in the teeth were the prices!! two orders of chicken?? salad side order meatballs and a glass of wine. $85+tip!!! stay away!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, people love it - always full. Bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and staff for the most part are really helpful. I just can't get excited about the food. Menu really lacks creativity (in my opinion) - many obviously disagree. And that's ok. I will say the pizza is pretty good I definitely recommend Nicks...just not a place I'd having anything other than pizza

Yelp
I would have preferred the option to rank 3.5 stars, but since I can't do that, I rounded up. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, but waited a bit to be seated, even though there was no one ahead of us in line and there appeared to be several open tables. Once seated, we waited longer than normal to be greeted by a server and offered a beverage. This set the tone for what was an evening of waiting. I had the wild mushroom pizza and my boyfriend had the chicken parm. I am usually one to photograph my food, but I was so hungry when it arrived that I totally forgot! My boyfriend's chicken looked and tasted good. His review: "I'd order it again." Fair enough. My pizza had so much potential, but fell flat due to lack of seasoning. I felt the bechemel lacked flavor. I know the difference between bechamel and Alfredo. Bechamel is a simple white sauce consisting of flour, milk and butter, Alfredo sauce is made using heavy cream, butter, garlic, fresh parsley, and parmesan or cream cheese. While I don't think the pizza needed the full flavor of Alfredo, I would have preferred a hybrid, as I felt the sauce needed salt and maybe a little garlic. I literally sprinkled my pizza with salt at the restaurant and that is just WEIRD!! I loved the textures of the mushrooms, roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts, and the smokiness of the crust was nice. However, because of the lack of seasoning, it just didn't hit the mark for me. Our server was very friendly and once our drinks and food finally arrived (we waited a long time for both), she was very attentive. I am not sure if I will go back. There are lots of places to eat in Fort Collins and since I don't live there, I only repeat when the food/service is above and beyond.

Yelp
Came in just to try the wings thanks to locality. We ordered a double portion. It took forever to get the food. Despite the restaurant being empty we were sat in the hot sun on the patio on a hot day. We always have wings with ranch. We ordered at least one for each of us three. The server did not warn that they charge $0.75 per ramekin of ranch. We basically paid for a bottle of ranch. Small portions in addition to poorly trained servers.

Yelp
It was not a Joyus weekend in Fort Collins as we were attending a funeral. But, the evening came and we needed a good dinner! After searching Yelp we found Nick's and OH what a find it was! We quickly made a reservation. We went a little early and found Nick's was a very popular place on a Saturday night! My hubby found me a seat in the bar while he stood alongside. The bartenders put on a show and I quickly found out from the regulars that they just let the bartender have a free hand at making their drinks. It was fun and passed our time away while waiting for our table. It was hustle bustle everywhere. We were finally seated and ordered right away. Hubby wanted ravioli, and I could not pass up the special of the evening Pasta Carbonara, and we split a delightful salad. Everything was amazing! The cheeses in the ravioli were fresh with tastes of herbs and the sauce was fresh tomatoes and wine. My carbonara was silky, garlicky, lots of fresh crispy Bacon, hmmmm I want it again! See you again Nick's!

Helen W.

Yelp
I had never tried Nick's but the reviews were good so decided to try it. I was shopping so ordered takeout. App said the carbanara would be ready at 7:10. Got there at 7:05 and it wasn't ready until 7:25. The person that brought to me practically threw it at me and rushed away, saying sorry for the wait, not allowing me to say anything. I got home and sat down to eat. It was a very small portion. There wasn't any sauce on it and if there was it had absorbed into the pasta and the description said it would have bacon, it was more like little chunks of ham or pork belly and a tiny amount of peas. How cheap can you get on an order but still charge 18.95. I don't feel I even got 10.00 worth of food. The place was busy and I don't understand why? Doubt I will try it again.

Yelp
Located near Colorado State University the restaurant offers a variety pizza and beverages. The service was good and the restaurant was very clean.

T K.

Yelp
First time here and had heard good things, but the food was subpar. Burnt lasagna with black edges and blackened mozzarella topping hidden by covering this with parmesan and parsley. This was tasteless and not Sunday gravy which is our version of tomato sauce made with just the right ingredients. I make a sauce that always has my guests asking for the recipe and my lasagna is usually 3-4" high topped with lovely cheeses. We should have sent it back. This was sadly our first and last visit - the pizza looked tasty on surrounding tables.

Lucia L.

Yelp
I love this place! Service is always very friendly. Pizza is great and thin. The meatballs are very tasty and portions are just right!

Yelp
It'd been a few years since I'd been to Nick's Italian so I went there recently for a dinner service. Given COVID, they now have a much more limited menu from what they've had in the past. As a vegetarian, of course, the options are even more limited. Ended up getting fresh mozzarella as an appetizer along with a margherita pizza. The fresh mozzarella was very good. An excellent appetizer selection. I don't know why but I felt like Nick's pizza in the past was different than what I had this time around. I thought it had a much thicker crust. Then again, my memory is foggy and I've eaten so much pizza since then. Regardless, it's a more thinner, wood-fired stove kind of feel to it. Still enjoyable but at roughly $18 for a pie, perhaps a bit much for some. Service was very kind and an enjoyable experience sitting on the patio. For whatever it's worth, everyone who works at Nick's (including Nick) is attractive and adorable and leaves you feeling positive. Anyway, happy to see Nick's has gotten itself through the pandemic and is still here serving quality Italian food to this community.

Yelp
Good food not great but good. Service at the bar is generally attentive. Hours of business are a little different for fort Collins but not the end of the world.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
Just moved to Fort Collins and found this place online! Absolutely the most flavorful chicken piccata My wife and I have ever had! Wonderful!

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Food was average for an Italian place. You're better off going to Olive Garden if you want to try Italian at a reasonable price and a good portion. Service was unprofessional. Server forgot to order our bread and salad, and admitted it. Her and the manager decided to bring this out AFTER 15 minutes of finishing our meal. No discount or "on the house" was offered. This place was better off years ago. It's sad to see the downwards trend of the place.

Yelp
Nicks Italian is always a top choice for us. We've been in the Fort Collins area for several years now and we always enjoy going to Nicks whether for date night, game night, or some sort of celebration we always leave happy. Jillian is a wicked awesome waitress and it's refreshing to see someone who enjoys their job during a time where the service industry is struggling. She was personable, knowledgeable about the whole menu, and a pleasure to have in our company. 10/10 recommend. Great food and great service! Thank you! It's also clear to see that Debra A. from a previous review hadn't dined at Nicks pre-pandemic and doesn't realize that times are hard right now for the restaurant industry. I, for one, love the dish selections that Nicks has provided given their limited staff options as it gives an option for nearly everyone's taste when planning on going to an Italian restaurant, and then some. The prices are complementary to the quality of food and service you receive.

A B.

Yelp
3.5 food 4 service 4 drink It would be nice it they can let us know the last order before they serve our order in a to go box. Also I don't appreciate when they add additional mandatory kitchen tip in the receipt. Not that I don't wanna pay, I think they should be included in the food price and not sneakily added in the receipt.

Elliot J.

Yelp
I love Nick's!! I would beg to differ that they have the best wings in town, and their crispy calamari is definitely worth trying. The only issue I've ever had, is being too full to eat more.
google avatar

Kendall L.

Yelp
Great food!!! Gluten free here- best gf pasta I've ever had!!! Cocktails great also . Waitress and hostess a little frazzled but super kind! Will comeback if we're ever in Fort Collins.

Kayla M.

Yelp
The main issue was the food. The marinara sauce had no flavor. The salad and salad dressing had no flavor. The meatballs were under done. The cheesy bread was soggy. It was a waste of $65.
google avatar

Patty L.

Yelp
Tasty scratch made Italian fare. Don't let the description of Sunday gravy on lasagna scare you away- it's rich and flavorful,

Yelp
By far this has been on of the best experiences at a restaurant since visiting Fort Collins, CO. As you may or may not know, Fort Collins has a plethora of eateries to choose from. I mean seriously, if you leave this city starving there is a problem! I'm so glad that a family friend recommended we choose Nicks for dinner because it did not disappoint! First off the decor of the place is a mixture of modern and old school which I adored! I loved the red leather chairs we sat in and the Batman/Robin pin ball machine! Talk about a blast in the past! Then while seated, our waitress Taetra was just as beautiful outside as she was inside. She was so bubbly and welcoming, making us smile and laugh the whole time there, even offering her own person recommendations. She said they were voted the best burgers in town, and I know what you're thinking, "best burgers at an Italian restaurant?" But YES! My mom had the burger and said it was one of the best she's ever had! I took her other recommendation and got the chicken parmigiana. Can you say DELISH?! With our foods we got a Moscow Mule and Sangria that was made with real fruit juices and not the concentrated crap in a carton! I love that they are a made-from-scratch restaurant and it shows in the food's taste and presentation. Overall me and my Mom had a wonderful time dining there and look forward to going back when we are in town next. Definitely go check them out!

Yelp
Just ate at Nick's for the first time in 5 years and will never return--the food was terrible and way overpriced. The calamari was worse than you could get frozen in a supermarket. The only positive was the great service by our waitress but nothing could make up for such poor food quality!
google avatar

Christian K.

Yelp
We came in for a visit to CSU and were incredibly happy with both the attentive service and the great food! The hostess was able to give some great advice about the school as she is a student there. This kind of kind, thoughtful, and gracious service goes a long way to speaking about the character of the restaurant and the City itself. Thank you!!
