Busy but for a good reason!! They mix your fruit choices with the custard right on the spot and the topping choices are perfect. Not too overwhelming but solid! The perfect sweet treat!!! So so yummy. Will definitely be back.

So delicious on a hot sunny day! I got the marionberry with toasted coconut, so good. Definitely going back to try the pineapple when they have it. Got a very sweet message from the owner on instagram asking about my experience. Love seeing those kind of business owners.

I got the marionberry with graham cracker dust. The line was fairly long and was about a 45 minute wait. It was very tasty ice cream nonetheless, but be aware there is a line. The employee who took our order was kind and attentive.

This is the first time I've been to their brick and mortar location. The inside is pretty simple and has a few seats. The main thing here is one thing and one thing only - some great ice cream. We tried a couple cones today - strawberry one and a blueberry one. Both of them were pretty good and definitely worth it on a nice day. The service is as fast as they can be, with only one mixing machine in use.

We hired Nico’s for a school graduation event and it went seamlessly! Everyone, of course, loved the ice cream. But Nico and Micah service was great! Delivered on time and was very communicative up until the event. Can’t wait to hire them again!

This location is great because there is more room to sit down and enjoy your ice cream inside regardless of the elements. I took my mom there for the first time a couple months back and she loved it. The fresh berries swirled in with the ice cream makes for a super creamy soft serve! It has also been great to see little local Maker’s Vendor pop ups here. Definitely a must visit in Portland!

overall: 4/5 food: 4/5 service: 3.5/5 ambiance: 4/5 Nico's Ice Cream advertises that they use fresh fruit in their ice cream, and they did not disappoint! i asked the worker what they recommended to get as flavors, and they recommended getting the marion berry / raspberry mix. this flavor was so good! i can truly taste the fruit and enjoyed the textured seeds within the ice cream. i got to try the strawberry flavor (my friends order), and it tasted really good and fresh too! toppings were an additional cost, so we didn't add those on. overall, i am glad to have tried Nico's!

Came here after grabbing dinner from Hat Yai that's next door. Great treat and dessert. It's my first time trying Nico's where you can see them make the fruit ice cream. I've had their pints before and I definitely like it being freshly made more. First taste reminded me of a creamy frozen yogurt, it's a little thicker not soft serve but really good. I got the Marionberry kids cone size. This was good size for me. Definitely busy here during weekends and you may need to wait to up to 15 mins to get your order. They have one machine that blends the vanilla ice cream base with their frozen berries. Cute interior, very simple and there's seating inside and outside. There's neighborhood parking around the area but can be hard to find.

It's a healthy ice cream since real fruits are used and it's not that sweet. It's soft and creamy just like a soft serve should be. I think the staff needs to be trained better or hire one more person during peak season. They shut down the store for a break. I got the soft serve on a waffle cone ($6) and the amount of ice cream she gave me was half of everyone else, and it looked so sloppy and crooked.

I like Nico's. I enjoy Nico's. I'd go to Nico's again. But I hate their stamp policy. Nico has this great texture and fruit flavor that separates itself from other spots. It's simple flavor is solid. I suggest the marionberry over all. I don't suggest any toppings but you do you boo. The price is reasonable and the wait if there is one. There's barely any space to sit or if you want any private conversations, but there's room for... 4 people in the shop. 1 bench for 2 outside. Good luck. As for the stamp rule, I thought I'd make it easier for the worker by combining 4 people into one tab so they can ring it up once. I assumed we'd get 4 stamps since we bought 4 cups and she said it's one per visit. Okay.. but yknow how people share and give others' their stamps? You see how I made your life easier by doing 1 transaction? Is it just me? Should we have just done 4 separate transactions?

Just go you won't be disappointed. Dropped in on our last day before going back home and was lucky to get a free ice cream for my birthday! Probably the best ice cream in Portland. The flavors are limited but I'd happily get the blueberry every time and never get bored of it. Made with real fruit and the texture alone is addicting

Super creamy, rich and smooth! On Saturdays, they only do cereal flavored -- which was the only downside since we were hoping for a fruity ice cream. But the Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor was pretty good. We are not huge fans of ice cream, but this one was pretty darn tasty; quality!

Third time wasn't a charm.. I live a block from here and have attempted to give them a try three times, first time was on a walk back home from Alberta park but had my dog and they don't allow dogs in.. second time went about 8 pm when they close at 9 and they were sold out.. third time went over and they don't accept cash but accept cash tips.. I probably won't try again

Northeast Portland is lucky to have Nico's - two ice cream shops, a cafe, and a taco restaurant?! I stopped by this location's grand opening this past weekend. At 1615 NE Killingsworth, it's near Mis Tacones, Rabbits Cafe, Podnah, Hat Yai, and more. Neat block! The shop serves the same real fruit ice cream as folks have come to know and love. The main difference is there's more room here - counter seating and a couple of tables. But you can also het your ice cream to go and take the short walk over to Alberta Park to enjoy! Keep an eye out for special flavors, collaborations, and pop-ups on Nico's Ice Cream's social media.

I've enjoyed Nico's ice cream since the first days he had a cart on Mississippi, then buying cartons from Miss Delta, and now finally made it to his brick and mortar on Killingsworth. Let's skip to what counts - this is some of Portland's best ice cream. While they make not have all the wacky flavors of other popular spots in town, their machine that mixes the fruit of your choice directly into your ice cream somehow produces a magical result. The base ice cream they use is fantastic, and when mixed with fruit, gets even better. Frankly I'd forgotten how good it is since it'd been a few years since I'd had it. The location is pretty sparse, and feels like they don't need as big a space, with a lot of emptiness toward the back, and not a lot else to make it feel cozy. The location is great though and makes for a tasty treat after dinner at any of the very nearby restaurants. If you like fresh, quality ice cream, I highly recommend adding this spot to your regular treat yo' self rotation.

Went here for the first time! The ice cream was amazing and not overly sweet (desirable to me). Watching them make the iced cream is cool. The iced cream Is more refreshing and less heavy. Cute little local spot. Service was quick, even though she was busy!

I walked over to get ice cream 2 hours before they were supposed to close, but when I got there they were completely sold out. How do you run out 2 hours early?

A tasty, simple concoction of berries and ice cream. Put in the berries, put in the vanilla ice cream, twist it all together into a fresh mix. The screw machine doesn't get cleaned between twists so I imagine all the ice cream end up tasting kinda the same, but there's nothing unsafe in that and it all comes out good. I got a generous sprinkling of toasted coconut, recommended. I won't exactly crave this ice cream like I do others, but it is a nice treat nonetheless.

Super cute ice cream shop with a unique and delicious concept- the marionberry was super flavorful and I personally loved the seeds in it, since it gave it texture and reinforced the fact that this is real fruit ice cream. We were the only people in there when we came in, so we were helped right away and served within a minute or two. Will be back often. I also love looking at all the collabs they do, although I rarely have the opportunity to make it to any of these pop ups. That being said, their passionfruit and marionberry s'mores are dream flavors for me to try.

I hate to say this because I love the concept of Nico's but I just wasn't very impressed. I'm leaving it at 4 because I know they're a new spot and have lots of potential but given how overwhelmingly positive the rest of the reviews are I wanted to add my opinion. I got the Marion Berry flavor, and this could just be totally my personal preference and not something that would bother others but it was SO seedy. The flavor was fine, very mild, but I just couldn't get past the texture. I do want to go again, and when I do I'll either be trying the blueberry or strawberry flavor or go on a Thursday for their tropical varieties. I've also heard they do cereal flavor on the weekends which sounds yummy. At the end of the day though mine tasted a lot like vanilla ice cream, I would have liked for the berry taste to come through more. The person taking my order was very kind and service was prompt. They took over the old Tea Bar space, and it's very obvious that they just slapped their logo on top of what used to be there. The light fixtures are the same, there is still a bar space where employees were affixing labels to cups, the big space in the back that used to have a communal table is being used for storage. And the lighting is very dark. Overall not an inviting space at all. I don't know if a remodel or makeover is in the works but I hope so. Honestly felt more like an amateur pop up than a permanent ice cream shop.

Nico's is the best for a super hot day or when you want something slightly less heavy than a super decadent dessert. It's almost like an edible smoothie. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself it's healthy. Either way, it's delicious

This ice cream tastes just like soft serve and I like the fact that there are only a couple of flavor and topping options so I don't get bogged down with decision overwhelm. I chose the Marionberry with Graham cracker dust in a bowl which is perfect for sharing even though I didn't want to share at all. The ice cream is amazing and seemed to taste better with each bite. The location is in the old Tea Bar space and they did nothing to revamp the vibe or aesthetic. It's very bare bones and could use a major refresh. Half the shop isn't being adequately used and is an open storage space which seems like a waste and doesn't look very professional. It has so much potential and I really hope they can bring it all together but I guess the main point is the ice cream so for that it is definitely worth checking out!

WOW this was delicious! My sweet tooth was so happy with my marionberry ice cream. The New Zealand ice cream machine seems to grind the fresh berries into a vanilla ice cream (that's what is happening, right??) and out comes a beautiful swirl of ice cream. Nico's is high on my list for future Portland trips, even on the coldest of days.

Berries mixed into your ice cream? YES PLEASE. The choices are simple but so good. The ice cream is sweet, light and refreshing. And you get so much ice cream! I will definitely be coming back here again. And I recommend you check it out as well!

Great little ice cream shop. Limited options (4 different frozen berries) but you can mix and match any or all berries. Shops is a big size for the one machine they have so be prepared to wait a bit if it's peak time on a hot day. Work the wait though.

Nico's is Portland's hidden gem that's not so hidden now. Just perfect if you want something sweet and satisfying but not overly sweet. Simple ice cream with a berry blend, can't go wrong :) Definitely recommend coconut flakes on top. I'm excited for this new location to blow up!

I'm an idiot for trusting this place. Always closed when I show up with my kid after promising her some ice cream. Just go to salt and straw instead and save yourself the hassle.

This is the best ice cream in Portland. However, extremely unfriendly workers who seem pissed off every time people come in. I would not stay to eat in here. Bad ambience, and it smells like chemicals. The ice cream still brings me back every time though.

best ice cream in Portland! the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I went just a couple days ago and these two lovely ladies were the sweetest souls ever. They convinced me to try the Marionberry in a waffle cone with toasted coconut flakes and it was delicious! what I love about Nico's is that the portions are good enough to fill you up and overall the taste is a 10/10! definitely going back, also the merch and just the atmosphere in there is amazing!

Best ice cream, made right there in front of you. Be aware of the really small shop, feels cramped if more than 2 people are in there at a time ordering, but the ice cream is worth it.

They were doing a Nico's at night special for cereal flavors and it was delicious. Interior design is clean and simplistic. Kind staff.
