"A kid takes over his parents’ family Thai restaurant on the Sunset Strip and turns it into one of the best Thai restaurants in LA before proceeding to expand to Venice, Silver Lake, and Las Vegas. Tale as old as time, right? Night + Market is the only party restaurant in LA that we also shortlist for takeout. We like all three Night + Market locations in LA, but Venice currently has our hearts. It’s cramped and loud in a way that forces you to let loose, and even though they don’t have hard liquor (like they do in West Hollywood), the wine list always introduces us to something new. "Now with three locations across the city, Night + Market has grown over the past decade from a scrappy make-shift house party of a restaurant to a household name in LA Thai food. Our favorite things here tend to be the slightly unusual twists, like drunken noodles with thick-cut pastrami or the fried chicken sandwiches topped with papaya salad and ranch. But we’d be just as happy with the fatty grilled pork toro and crispy rice salad, too. "Get to Venice for some of Los Angeles’s best Thai food, made with color and care by chef Kris Yenbamroong. This spot doesn’t skimp on flavors or heat, making it one of the hottest (in many ways) places to dine in all of Venice. Of all the drink-friendly dishes at this Thai spot with locations in Weho, Silver Lake, and Venice, the towering sandwich is a non-negotiable must-order. The shaggy, Thai-style fried chicken is juicy and crunchy, the toasted supermarket-style bun doesn’t get in the way, and the combo of cool-creamy ranch and sour-spicy papaya salad instantly makes sense.
