14 Best Bars in Bali | Condé Nast Traveler

"The wooden look of this 40-seater—across the street from the world-renowned restaurant Locavore, from the same owners—seems unusually approachable for a cocktail bar that’s been taking Bali by storm. Embrace it; after all, The Night Rooster is a refreshing place to enjoy great drinks—without any pretension or fussiness. Yet there’s nothing simple about the 10-item cocktail menu; start with Ashes, a heady number with vodka and whiskey shaken with blowtorched dehydrated fruit, homemade fortified wine, and palm sugar syrup." - Travis Levius

Hip Bartenders Shaking It Up At Singapore Cocktail Festival 2018

"Raka Ambarawan, The Night Rooster, Bali Poison Of Choice: Es Kacang Ijo- a concoction of mung bean powder, aren (palm nectar), fresh coconut milk, Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch Whisky and Angostura bitters. The cocktail is garnished with crispy cinnamon roll and sago pearls. Inspiration: “My lovely grandmother used to serve bubur kacang ijo twice a week to me before I attended kindergarten in the mornings. Bubur kacang ijo is a traditional Indonesian sweet dessert made with mung beans, coconut milk and palm sugar. Sometimes, it gets ‘upgraded’ with additional ingredients such as toasted bread, sago pearls, raisins, cinnamon ice cream, sweet black rice, durian, jackfruit or anything sweet that people fancy. It can be served either warm or cold." - Kenneth Goh

If you're looking for a relaxing night with a great atmosphere and cocktails in Ubud, I highly recommend this bar. It's not too quiet, not too busy. They serve craft cocktails with a thoughtful menu that uses complex ingredients, inspired by Bali’s tropical fruits and creative techniques. The interior isn’t traditional Bali style but modern and clean. They also have a great cigar list at a good price. The staff are very nice and helpful. Be sure to sit at the bar to watch them craft the cocktails, it’s a fascinating experience.

Night rooster is amazing. I would highly recommend. The cocktails are delicious. The staff are helpful and friendly. The cigar list is excellent and affordable. The vibe is relaxed and chilled out, which is my favourite vibe. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of the tourist area of Ubud town.

Nice place, and good cocktails. However, seating and relocation seem to be influenced by your skin color. We were told we could only sit at the bar without a reservation, yet others were seated at tables despite not having reservations either. After stepping out for a smoke, we returned to find our belongings and drinks moved to a corner of the bar by the sink, simply because the bartender's friends wanted our seats. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the waitstaff's only response was that we could find another place if we didn’t like it here.

Such a fun place! The aesthetic is great, very comfy but classy and relaxed. There's a small terrace out front where you could people watch on a busy street. The cocktails are really interesting and often come with a little snack as part of it! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Brilliant bar.

A fancy cocktai bar that comes with a story. Every single cocktai is crafted with the purpose of selling that story. They are unique and perfectly blended. Can only recommend trying at least once. It's an experience. Prices are obviously high. About 12€ for a drink. What's really bad about this is that they add decorations - so if you have an allergy (gluten, milk, or whatever) it's likely that one of those drinks might be a problem for you. For example, the "monkey business" comes with a crunchy snack on top that's dipped into flour. Terrible for someone with a gluten intolerance - especially since the menu doesn't mention it and you wouldn't expect it from a drink.

Astonishing design for the lounge area with incredible selections of cocktail. Friendly service and nice concept. Recommends for chilling time in Ubud.

I dream about this bar 🤤 the drinks are incredible, some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a few 😅) It feels really magical, we stumbled across it so didn’t have any expectations. The presentation and taste are beautiful, the Monkey Business and one with boba and toast were a particular highlight and all the little snacks were yummy. I can’t wait to visit again

A great cocktail bar in Ubud. If you are only going to try one cocktail, I would recommend The Ashes because they give you a sensory experience with the burning of the pine cone & the lighting of the cinnamon that you can optionally use to stir the caramel into the drink. Would not recommend to order the heart of palm snack. Just tastes sour and weird. It will be best if you come after dinner because their snacks portions are tiny. I really like the concept of this bar with relaxing sofas and the music is not too loud so we can still talk with each other. The staff were polite, nice & attentive. Price is cheap for Australian standard with around AUD 17 for a cocktail.
