Where to Drink Cocktails in Nashville Right Now

"Nashville has its very own nightclub dedicated to house music with Night We Met. Located in the former 12th & Porter building in the Gulch, the club is split into two venues: the Vera Lounge and the Club Room, both outfitted with Void Acoustic Sound Systems and art installations. In both rooms, you’ll find a sustainable cocktail program led by mixologists Owen Gibler (Roze Pony, Employees Only) and Harrison Drost featuring their twists on espresso martinis, Palomas, and Old Fashioneds using kegged cocktails and traditional service." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Nashville’s First House Nightclub, Night We Met, Opens in the Gulch | Eater Nashville

"Opening in the former 12th & Porter building in the Gulch, Nashville, this new house music nightclub aims to give the city a dedicated home for pulsing house beats and packed dance floors, launching with a grand-opening lineup that features Kyle Watson and Lux Velour. Backed by Jim and Allison Knight and programmed by their son Austin Knight—who has been active in Nashville’s electronic scene through the Deep Tropics festival, Full Circle Presents, and the Decompress parties—the club grew out of a local house community that needed a consistent outlet. The name was inspired by Fatima Yamaha’s electronic cut “Day We Met,” and Night We Met is intended to evoke memory and nostalgia. The venue is split into two rooms, both outfitted with Void Acoustic Sound Systems and art installations (including a wrought-iron metal face by Nimrod Messeg and a bronze amethyst torso by James Lomax), and it pairs creative booking flexibility with an explicit sustainability mission: a zero-waste program (composting, recycling, no single-use plastics) overseen by head of sustainability Joel Atchison, who will work with third parties and Green Disco Group to measure waste and carbon footprint. The bar program—led by Owen Gibler and Harrison Drost—features kegged cocktails for about 25 percent of the menu (espresso martinis, Palomas, Old Fashioneds) and practices ingredient reuse (for example, using lime peel for cordial, juicing or freezing lime, dehydrating slices for garnish, and composting leftovers). Overall, the club is intended to further develop the Southern dance-music scene while highlighting local, national, and global DJs and producers." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

A friend of a friend recommended this place because I was looking for a spot near downtown that played house or house adjacent music. I'm okay with pretty much any live music, but I'm helplessly in love with house and it's been so long since I've heard a live DJ. Night We Met delivered. More than worth the 20 minute walk from where we were on Broadway. Great crowd, the DJ was super into it, and the call of the music got my even my most shy friends to dance. The speakers definitely could've had a little more volume though. I would love to go back next time I'm here

This was a very nice venue!! I saw Hayden James here and all the music was very good. The dance floor is a nice size and there's a couple bars. The restrooms are also nice and well kept. I would come back for more concerts here.

I rarely lave reviews, but I wanted to let others know about Night We Met. It's definitely a "know-before-you-go" kind of place. We bought tickets for the Tycho show on Dec 6. The calendar said 8 p.m. We arrived and discovered it was "doors open at 8 p.m." No big deal. We came back at 8, only to wait and wait. Tycho didn't go on until midnight. We’re perfectly capable of staying up late, but had we known the the show wouldn’t start until midnight, we would have planned our evening very differently. We expected an opener and assumed Tycho would start around maybe 10 or even 11. The four-hour wait was unexpected. (Though I will say, the opener was amazing). It would be helpful if show listings clearly distinguished between door times and actual set times so that guests can plan ahead. Overall, it was a cool venue, I'll just plan better the next time I go.

This place is a waste of your money and night. We are a group of chill music lovers who were just there to enjoy the music and have a good time but it seems like the majority of the crowd consisted of pretentious out of touch folks. Don’t bother buying tickets in advance, the door guy openly admitted that it is a waste of your money and makes no difference cause you have to wait in line behind people who are buying tickets at the door. If this place focused less on being “elevated” and pretentious and focused more on their music then it might actually be a good time. Way better places to spend your night in Nashville

Security needs an attitude adjustment!!!!!! My college girlfriends and I get together once a year and have for the past 30...which gives you an idea of our ages. "Night We Met" was recommended for some house music and good vibes. Overall we enjoyed the venue. Great mix of people, good drinks and a friendly atmosphere. $35 to get in but had it waived by the ticket man at the door. The only major issue we had was the "Security".....seriously...you are taking your job way too serious. Had I been there alone, I would have left. It started outside while he was checking our itty bitty purses for contraband. Rude, unfriendly and seemed to think he was very important. The tall white security man with his flashlight needs to take a chill pill and recognize that if no one is being hurt, if no one is complaining then it likely means everyone is having a good time and just let them be. Yes, maybe we did not pay for that table but is it possible that the person who did, said we could put our things on it? Are the table paying people complaining? No, they were not complaining....why.... because people are there to have a nice time, to be kind and to enjoy good music. Also, I was pushed twice hard on the back to get me to move out of the bottle service ladies way by this dude. I'm a 50 year plus lady and he is lucky I did not fall. You will definitely be losing business in the future if you continue to let this guy pretend he is in charge or he does not learn how to read a room and smile.

Best EDM club in Nashville. Always delivers and brings very well known DJs year-round

Nashville has an elevated EDM dance club and it is Night We Met! Featuring 2 stages: the lounge and club room: the decor, sound system and vibes are spot on. I’ve seen major DJs there and appreciate the open deck nights that also provides local newbies a chance to develop their skill. All in all, NWM is always a good time and a place to let it go on the dance floor.

I emailed Night We Met before a show I had bought tickets to because I had just broken my foot and needed to know if there was anywhere I could sit that didn’t require buying a VIP table - literally even a barstool would’ve made the show accessible for me. They never replied at all. The ticketing platform wouldn’t refund me but said I could transfer my ticket, and I really wanted to go, but without any response from the venue about accessibility, I didn’t feel safe attending. Pretty disappointing, especially for a small venue, to not reply to a simple accessibility question. I don’t normally write reviews, but they asked for one, so here you go.
