My new fave spot. Everything I ordered was DELICIOUS. The calamari and chicken fried shrimp were my faves. The drinks were also good. Happy hour is where it’s at. The staff was friendly and the music was good. Can’t wait to go back and give my palette what it deserves.

Nice, chill spot to go to. The music was amazing, the staff was friendly and most importantly the food was beyond spectacular! I can not rave more about how delicious the food is! My favorite has to be the crab seafood cakes then the chicken and waffles and I can not forget about the nachos. Let’s just say whatever you order you will not be disappointed!

To Avoid crowd, we arrived just as it opened(Friday morning) Yay! Metered street was Available. Nice Decor and Vibe! Friendly & Helpful Staff! Didn't order Cocktails this time ( next time!) DELICIOUS Hot Coffee Hit the Spot We( 3) shared the plentiful Tots & Candied Bacon! Hot & Crispy tots sweet & Spicy Bacon! Yummy! I enjoyed the Chicken & Biscuit w/country gravy. I usually Don't like white gravy, but this was well seasoned & flavorful. Hubby had The Amigas & he was Happy! Son had the sweet potato pancakes & Chicken, He was Very pleased. Generous portions but Not overwhelming..Perfect! We will be Back!

Google
Such a good spot. Good vibe inside and they open the front windows to the street. We got the candied bacon and tots. The bacon was spicy which went well with the crispy tots. We had sangria, blue cow (blueberry mule), tropical mimosa, and the Vietnamese Iced coffee (spiked). All the drinks were great but the Vietnamese spiked Iced coffee was really really delicious. I wish I lived here so I could come back. The whole menu is really interesting. Do recommend!

We accept the brunch we think we deserve and Nighthawk sure knows how to serve a punch! Despite the pandemic, the restaurant was able to expand onto the sidewalk with various 2- and 4-tops to accommodate varying party sizes. Yelp reservations are strongly recommended if not required to secure your spot here! We started off with their famed Spiked Cereal Milk which had Cocoa Puffs and vanilla vodka and the Holla-peño which my friend subbed with mezcal for no additional cost. Both drinks were $14 and while I appreciated the thought of spiked cereal milk, I found that the vodka was very overpowering and left much to be desired. Hard pass on this one. The holla-peño, however, received positive feedback so I will vouch for this one. I love sweets for breakfast so the Drunken French Toast for $16 was definitely the first thing that came to mind when perusing this money. And boy, was it worth it! The French toast is broken up into shareable square pieces topped with the most delicious mascarpone mousse, brandy-soaked pear bits and pieces, confectionery sugar, and all the syrup that your heart desires. Be warned, you will NOT want to share this after having the first bite! My friend ordered the Pass-tor Tacos and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, it’s a bit overpriced for tacos but what they lacked in value they made up for in quantity and taste. Good thing they came with two tortillas per taco to make it easier to consume! Hot sauce is available at no additional cost upon request. The service here was great and I am so glad I was able to try this place out. There are so many other amazing options on this menu so I know this will not be the last time I visit!

Google
The menu looked impressive but I was not 100% thrilled about the food. I had the candied bacon and tots along with the late night croissant. You can’t go wrong with tots but the sauces were a bit odd to my liking. I was told the “nighthawk sauce” was an aioli, I could not see the comparison. It was also on the croissant as well which may have turned my tastebuds off as well. Chicken on sandwich was a bit overcooked, but in all I would give a second go round if I am in the area. FYI- the bathroom was neat, very clean!

Honestly best shrimp and grits I’ve had in a good while. Definitely very good flavor and not over bearing, good combination of everything on the plate it’s just 🤌🏽🤌🏽. Visiting L.A for the first time from Texas and man im glad my friends chose this place. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
It's one of the best brunch spots I've ever been to. The breakfast beverage menu is legit with rums and cereal milks paired together. I had the Cocoa Old Fashioned that came with these fun little coco puffs on top of the big ice rock- so fun! We started with the benedict fries, which were so decadent. Imagine ham, peppers, swiss cheese, hollandaise sauce and a sunny side-up egg on top! I had the big bird and short stack, which was just a fancy chicken and pancakes. I loved how the pancakes were made out of sweet potato and the butter had hints of cookie dough in it. The decor and music were amazing too!

Yelp
Breakfast for any meal is one of my favorites. We went to Nighthawk in the middle of the day; the doors were open for a nice seaside breeze, it wasn't at all crowded, and the music was really good, so it was a very chill lunch experience. As far as the food and drinks, everything was just TOO sweet. I got the Bigbird & Shortstack: the savoriness of the chicken could not balance out the tart-sweetness of the potato pancakes, the sweetness of the cookie dough butter, and the sweet syrup. Similarly, my partner's Drunken French Toast was also cloying sugary with too many layers of sweet on top of more sweet. And I know it seems ridiculous to say the candied bacon was too candied, but it was! The tapatio was dulled under way too much brown sugar. And while the cocktails were delicious (and strong!), combined with our meal, we thought we were going to walk away with diabetes. The flavors of the food were good, but need far more balance and less sugar. I don't think I'd choose to try Nighthawk again, but if I ever went with some friends, I'd definitely order a different combo of food to balance out the sweet and savory.

Yelp
If you are looking for a decadent breakfast then look no further. We're talking stick to your ribs buttermilk biscuits + gravy or if you're like me and prefer lunch for breakfast who says you can't add tater tots and scrambled eggs to your burger? It certainly isn't stopping anyone here. Portions are generous so if you've got a big appetite you'll certainly find a friend in Nighthawk. We loved how all the front windows opened up, letting in that nice westside breeze. Urban beach vibes all the way.

Yelp
Is there such a thing as too decadent of a breakfast? Okay, maybe. BUT the Shrimp N "Grits" is something I wouldn't skip out on here. I always love trying shrimp and grits when it's offered on the menu and this one was a little different since it had polenta as the base instead of grits. It was slightly put off by the chunky texture at first but I quickly forgot about it after tasting the cajun gravy. It was amazing. The whole plate was covered in the thick, creamy gravy and there was a generous amount of spices which complimented the plump shrimp and juicy sausages. If you're looking for a hearty meal, this is it. As for the Everything Hash, they made the scrambled eggs so well I was shook. It was fluffy and provided a good contrast in texture with the brussels sprouts. It was originally supposed to be a sunny-side up egg but I requested it to be made differently and they were very kind about it. The dish itself had a good amount of salt so every bite was savory and packed with flavor. It's loaded with a lot of ingredients including the aforementioned brussels sprouts and scrambled eggs along with potatoes, tofu, onions, Swiss cheese, and dill breadcrumbs: an amalgam of flavors that blend very well together in one bite. Since it's a bar, I wanted to try out at least one drink. I ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee since it was a familiar drink to me. However, this one had house-spiced rum, condensed coconut milk, organic cold brew and coconut shavings all topped with whipped cream. Man, this stuff was powerful. I thought it'd be a hint of alcohol but it was more like a hint of coffee. If you want a wake-me-up, then here you go. I love that they let us choose our seats because I enjoy natural light a lot. I decided to sit near the entrance but the inside is also nice and spacious with eclectic decorations and bar seating.

Yelp
My bestie and I came for brunch a few weeks back on a Sunday. We made a reservation via Yelp. When we arrived, it was busy which was a good sign. At first glance, the food looked great. We were excited to order. We started with the candied bacon & tots. The flavor was good, but the bacon was too chewy. The fat was not rendered enough, so the bacon was not crispy. To drink, I had the tropical mimosa, which was BOMB. My best friend had coffee and a Champagne or sparkling wine. My entree was the big bird & shortstack. The chicken was bland, & not crispy at all like your typical fried chicken. The sweet potato pancakes were super dense. Flavor was ok. Definitely more on the savory side. My friend ordered the shrimp N grits. There were barely any shrimp, there was way too much gravy, & could've used more grits. Overall, it could've been better. We had high hopes.

Yelp
I wish I had better things to say, but after the experience we received, I am not inclined to come back. Nighthawk Breakfast Bar hosted a pop-up dinner experience with a popular chef. My friends and I (4 of us total) bought tickets to the event as a birthday celebration. A dinner menu curated by a popular cook in beautiful Venice Beach...what could be a better birthday gift? Unfortunately, the general operations and staff at Nighthawk made this an uncomfortable experience. Despite requiring us to select a reservation time (7:15pm) when purchasing tickets for the event, we waited over an hour before we were seated (close to 8:30pm). We checked on our table 3 times and each time the hostess directed us to wait outside until we were called. They were not able to send us a text when our table was ready, and they also had no waiting area for customers. There were several 2-person and 4-person parties that had a 7:45pm reservation that were seated before us. By this time, the chef who curated the menu and their family intervened to help communicate with Nighthawk staff to get us our table. As compensation for the lengthy wait time, we were offered additional plates. When we asked our server, she was (understandably) surprised and had asked the event staff to speak with us...but not without gossiping about our table to several of her coworkers. Needless to say, all the staring eyes made my friends and me extremely uncomfortable and we were VERY ready to leave. Ultimately, while the food was delicious and the opportunity to meet this popular chef is invaluable, it does not outweigh the treatment we received and the experience we had. I will not be back.

Yelp
My GF brought me here for a birthday breakfast before getting my day Started. I walked in and the atmosphere was chill with music playing overhead. As we were seated the first thing you notice is the cleanliness of this place. The tables are all mess up, they look wet but seems that something was sprayed on them that messed up the varnish and making it look dirty and slightly sticky. The wallpaper was dirty with food splatter and the foot of the table had major buildup. At this point I wanted to leave but would've felt horrible since my girl was excited to bring me here due to all the reviews. Well let's go on to the food. For me nothing really seems to my liking but the fried chicken and sweet potato pancakes so that what I got and my girl got the biscuits and gravy. When the food came out my plate looked great but as I took the first bite the chicken had no flavor/seasoning just plain bland and the sweet potato pancakes were fluffy but I didn't care for the taste. The biscuits and gravy was ok. I'll say definitely skip this place unless you want a strong drinks, good tunes or craving breakfast late at night. Chicken & sweet potatoes pancakes : 2.5/5 Biscuits & Gravy: 3/5 Cocoa puff alcohol drink: 3.5/5 Cleanliness of the restaurant: needs improvement Service: ok Will not return.

Yelp
Great food; awesome brunch or late night spot in Venice. We went for a pre-Black Friday shopping brunch and had: --Shrimp and Grits with Cajun Gravy. Hands down best S&G I've ever had. The grits were actually polenta, but it didn't matter. The Cajun Gravy was AMAZING! I need to learn how to make it and slather everything with it! --Late Night Croissant. Fried chicken, bacon, two cheeses, sauce, so good. --Side of Candied Bacon. Sweet, salty, spicy; it has everything. We will be back soon!

Ashley B.

Yelp
First time trying this place and would highly recommend it if you're around the area. Never had a SPIKED Iced Vietnamese Coffee before but I can confidently say I'd choose that over espresso martini's now! It was such a refreshing drink to have with my meal. Both the items we ordered for food were packed with flavor but I'd say the highlight of the dishes were the biscuits on my bf's order & the bacon on mine. The service was quick & everyone was so kind. I absolutely loved the environment, it's nice being inside but having massive windows wide open to enjoy the fresh air. We can't wait to eat here again when we come & visit.

Yelp
This place is very whimsical and fun. Be prepared for childhood favorites like Cinnamon Toast Crunch with an adult spin (they add rum!). Whether you are nursing your body from a big night before or looking to get the party going, this is a great spot to go with friends. One nice thing about dining with a bigger the group, you get to try more dishes. My crew tried a lot of things. Candied Bacon & Tots ($14), Drunken French Toast ($17), All the Breakfast Burger ($18), Chicken & Biscuits ($19), and my dish - Bigbird & Shortstack ($19). Everything was a good balance of salty, sweet, and savory. I was worried that the cookie dough butter and apple-cinnamon gastrique on my sweet potato pancakes would be too much, but it worked. Especially when paired with the buttermilk fired chicken. Of course we had to try the drinks! We got ordered the Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch & Bourbon ($14), Cinnamon Toast Crunch & Spiced Rum ($14), Candied Bacon Mary ($14), and my drink - the Bánh Mìchelada ($13). The mìchelada was a just what the doctor order, salty, sour, spicy, goodness. If you go with a spiked cereal milk be sure to get a spoon to help scoop out the boozy cereal. There is only street parking but the side streets were pretty empty at lunch time. The service was friendly and patient since it took us minute to decide what we wanted.

Yelp
Came here for the first time last month for Sunday brunch. I had this spot bookmarked for awhile, so I was looking forward to trying the food here. It was pretty busy the entire time my friend and I dined here, but we made reservations through Yelp. We tried the Surf & Surf Ceviche, All the Breakfast Burger, Drunken French Toast, and Maple-Espresso Sticky Bun. The breakfast burger was my favorite--so flavorful with good textures between the bacon, eggs, and tater tots! The french toast was soggy, but that could've been because all the food came out at once and we didn't get to it right away. I think it probably would've still been a bit on the soggier side even if we ate that first. The sticky bun sounded amazing, but was the most disappointing dish for me. The flavors were good, but the sticky bun tasted really dry so I think it was old. Service was okay but could've been better. The staff was very friendly, but they seemed too busy/understaffed. We waited a long time for the food, and then all of a sudden everything came out one after the other, including the sticky bun with ice cream so we had to quickly eat everything before the ice cream melted. Our waitress forgot about the drinks my friend and I each ordered, so by the time all our food came out we decided to just cancel our drink orders. Parking isn't the easiest, but we found residential parking a couple blocks away.

Yelp
Yes to all of this and I met a fellow yelper while dining. My friend and I were looking for brunch and found this on Yelp. We immediately loved the atmosphere. Nice music and cozy space. Not sure about parking as we were walking. The host was great and seated us immediately. I do think they take reservations as well. I ordered the pancakes and chicken and my friend got the shrimp and grits. We both truly enjoyed our meal. The chicken was tender and juicy. The pancakes were good but I couldn't eat them all so gave my friend one to try. Had a chance to speak with the couple next to us since it was a cozy spot. That was really nice. Overall great experience. I would come back to support if ever in town.

Monique B.

Yelp
We had a birthday brunch at Nighthawk. It's not that far from the Marina Beach. Great open concept . Outdoor to indoor. We had a nice table. We were able to interact with each other as well as people watch. We like to order multiple dishes when we dine out so we don't miss anything that they are known for, as well as because we are just super greedy lol! On that note though, the food was just ok. No dish or drink overwhelmed or excited any of us. I gave it a 4 star because of the company and because this place plays the best music ever! We partied and sang every song they played.

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: trendy bar style restaurant, very loud and packed inside, not the traditional and classic breakfast and brunch place, street parking only, reservation is suggested during peak hours Service: very friendly and super fast, the water was refiled and food was served fairly well Food & Drink: scan the barcode and online menu, breakfast items available all day Drunken French Toast - **** Krispies-coated brioche, pear brandy, pear compote, cardamom-mascarpone mousse, unique style, fluffy bread, though it should have been toasted longer to taste crispier, apparently the kitchen rushed this order, though would still recommend for first timer Big Bird and Shortstack - **** Buttermilk fried chicken, sweet potato pancakes, cookie dough butter, apple-cinnamon gastrique, scallions and maple syrup, crunchy chicken breast though a bit dry inside, and flavorful pancake tasted with right balance between sweetness and salt, recommend Organic Coffee - *** average taste Price: moderate portions and reasonable prices, about $25 per person for brunch

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Is it breakfast? Is it breakfast for dinner that you can have anytime of the day? All I know is it's delicious. Now this isn't your average eggs and avocado toast breakfast location. It also isn't the over-hyped hipster Instagram spot. Sure you can take amazing food pictures, but buyer beware - the food is as good as it looks. Some amazing eats: BigBird and Shortstack - fried chicken, sweet potato pancakes, cookie dough butter - I can go on, but just picture a mouthful of heaven. Drunken French toast - yes please. Chicken and biscuits- made as they should be. Nighthawk Breakfast Sandwich- might be the lightest thing on the menu. And also delicious. Plus they have breakfast inspired cocktails. Spiked Cereal Milk in multiple flavors (I'd recommend Cocoa Puffs with Vanilla Vodka), coffee cocktails and an amazing Bloody Mary with candied bacon. Their hours are limited, so make sure you check the website so you don't miss out.

Matthew J.

Yelp
I've been to many of the food spots in this area and on Washington especially and I'd have to say Nighthawk ranks right up there with the best of them! One of the only spots that serve breakfast/brunch late and on a weekend that's hard to find! The atmosphere is unique and inviting! The staff was friendly from the moment we set down until the moment we stood up and left! The food there is amazing! They have a great menu with several mouth-watering options! However, my favorites are the Drunken French Toast and the Pancakes! I'd recommend this spot to any and everyone! I'll be back soon!

Nina E.

Yelp
Okie dokie.... Met some friends here and I love this place! And Guy from the food network put his stamp on it. The food is good and drinks are off the chain. First timer here but I'll be back my next visit in Cali. Wish they would move to Tennessee :-) Thanks so much, keep up the good work!!!

Essi H.

Yelp
My first time at this establishment and I must say I will be back. We sat at the bar so we had speedy service with no delays. Service: the bartender was very prompt and efficient with making our drink. Their cocktails were very unique. I had both their Cocoa puff milk cocktail and the captain crunch milk cocktail. Omg. The drinks were really good. If you are a fan of those two cereals then I definitely recommend trying these two cocktails. Food: I ordered the chicken & biscuits, crab & shrimp crab cakes, and the surf & turf ceviche. All items did not disappoint at all! The pancakes were delicious as well. Something different about the big bird stack is that the pancakes were made from sweet potatoes! Definitely a must try. Ambiance: the place is very lowkey. Good vibes, good music, and the workers all had a great attitude. In all, if you are around the area definitely try NightHawk for your brunch selection.

Alexandre K.

Yelp
Breakfast spot that was surely packed when we went! Food was good and I wanted to cross this spot off my list since it was specifically titled a "Breakfast Bar" and I wanted to see what that was all about! To be honest I was thinking a different vibe... this was a bar that serves breakfast dishes so glad I came and experienced! Parking wasn't bad, it was pouring rain the morning my friend and I met. There was a spot right outside across the street at a meter. I'd say your best bet is either metered parking or down a side street. The atmosphere inside was decent and the food was pretty basic and maybe one or two interesting dish titles. My friend ordered Benedict fries and I ordered the Nighthawk breakfast sandwich. Both were good and pretty basic flavoring to what you see pictured. The prices weren't bad either ($18 avg). Enjoy if you stop by!

Kandece B.

Yelp
Nice environment with tasty dishes. Ive had this place on my "hmmm" list and I decided to visit. There is metered parking only but the street does not have much traffic Tues-Thurs. I have not been on the weekend yet, but I was told it gets busy. My first visit (5/19) I met Mr. Lance. He was so personable, attentive and gave great descriptions of some ingredients used in the food items. I ordered shrimp and grits which was savory. It was polenta under a warm flavorful sauce with an du ee(i forgot how to spell it, lol) sausage. I like polenta now I also ordered ceviche which was light and filling, it came with crunchy chips. The shrimp and corn taco was ok, maybe I needed something pickled on it. I had a tropical mimosa which was sweet for me but was a nice blend of juices. I knocked it over by accident trying to add lime to it lol Anywho I settled on a gin and lime which was right up my alley.

Sarah W.

Yelp
Not surprised this place closed. Went there years ago... staff was better, the food was way more concise and had a vision. I also saw the owner being awful to servers. Could have been something but management looked a mess.

Madi H.

Yelp
Went on a Friday Funday because that meant bottomless mimosas The place is cute, but the food is better. My friends got the chicken and short stack combo with sweet potato pancakes and i got the breakfast sandwich with a veggie patty and it was all incredible. I chose the grapefruit mimosa and it was super refreshing, and my friend tried the classic and Tang mimosas and they were both tasty. Happy to have started my Friday here. All of the cravings I didn't even know i had were satisfied.

Amy S.

Yelp
Tried out this place for brunch and overall, I liked it! Food was great: I ordered the drunken French toast and it was delicious. The Rice Krispies engrained into the toast is something I've never seen before and added a nice cronchy texture to the toast. Mascarpone also paired nicely, and I wished there was more! I will say I low key expected it taste like alcohol and it did not. My friend had the breakfast burger and that was a huge generous portion. I tried a bit and that also tasted delish. Drinks were good, although overpriced like most brunch places: I ordered the tangy mimosa and it tasted great. Had a slight buzz too, and didn't taste excessively alcohol-y (in a good way) IT IS REALLY LOUD IN HERE. I COULD BARELY HEAR MY FRIEND TWO FEET IN FRONT OF ME. COVID precautions: as you can see in the pictures, the walls are wide open so plenty of air flow, even though you're technically inside. Employees are all masked. Didn't check for vax card or temp tho. Service was nice and fine. Parking is street metered, I was able to find one pretty easily on a Sunday around noon time. Very close to the Venice canals if you wanted to take a walk after brunch!

Bethany J.

Yelp
We went to this place on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. We didn't have reservations but it wasn't crowded so we got seated as soon as we arrived. The vibe is chill and relax comfortable cozy indoors yet outdoors which was nice. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. It was a little bit bland. I had the chicken and biscuits. The chicken was a little overcooked. My dining companion had the croissant breakfast sandwich which he said was good. The mimosas were good. The waitress could've been a little more attentive as the place was not that crowded. We may be back to try some thing else on the menu. I did like the decor of the restaurant and the cool , chill vibe for rainy Sunday afternoon.

Laura C.

Yelp
Parking: metered street parking along Washington Blvd, or find free neighborhood street parking on Clune Ave, 28th Ave, Grayson Ave, etc. but it will get more crowded later in the day since people park there for the beach Experience: it's a pretty small space, so I wouldn't bring a group bigger than 4. Also, make a reservation if you want to sit at a table! We didn't, so we sat at the bar which was fine, but it didn't have the same brunch vibe if you know what a mean. The music was pretty loud, but the food and drink service was quick and the food was good! Loved the Breakfast Sandwich with bacon and my friend got the Power Up Bowl.

Eddie S.

Yelp
One of the best brunch spots anytime in the area! Food is great, the vibe and atmosphere is chill, and the service is always accepting!

Kaitlyn N.

Yelp
I came here for brunch and it's always been on my bucket list to eat at Nighthawk for indoor dining. I've only had it previously to-go, but it was a pleasant experience and left me wanting more. FLAVOR (3/5): 1. Benedict Fries: These were ok. The sauce was good, but the potatoes had a grainy texture that I didn't enjoy. I also would have preferred the egg to be fried more for that crispy texture on the edges, but this is a personal preference. 2. Drunken French Toast: The french toast was good, although very sweet. They offered syrup on the side, but we didn't end up using it because the french toast as is was sweet enough. SERVICE (5/5): The service was good! AMBIENCE (4/5): I went for brunch on a Friday, so there weren't that many people there. I would recommend coming on a weekend when it's more bustling. TAKEAWAYS: The food was decent. I missed the sliders that I had when I ordered takeout one time - those were definitely the star of the show and it's a shame they're no longer on the menu. I would likely come again, but try different items next time.

Rach M.

Yelp
Let me tell you, the food is so bomb here! I've been like 3 times & never been disappointed. Shoutout to Rodney the bartender! We love you lol great service. The ambiance is pretty as well. 10/10 y'all must try, delish!

Mildred A.

Yelp
The music, the staff, the food- A-1! We went on a Friday Funday! Bottomless mimosas (limited ) was a plus! The Benedict fries were wonderful! ( you should get extra sauce and add hot sauce for an extra kick- you wont regret it!) The breakfast burger was pretty good too! After that you can walk off the calories at the beach!

Bobby G.

Yelp
My first time. Came for a birthday party. There was about six of us. We got there when it opened around 10 or 1030am. They open the door at exactly the time they say they will open. If the door is open for even 10min before opening you still will not be seated. I witnessed a few people walk away to the beach because the door was opened and it was 5min till sign open time and they made the go back out the door instead of just letting them know they aren't open yet and they could have a seat and they would get to them when they open. Maybe they should not open the door before they are open technically. They couple just walked to another establishment closer to the beach. The food must be really good. They officially opened and my group was seated right away. The restaurant filled quickly but it is extremely small. I was surprised there was a restroom because it was so small. The decor was very cool. That by itself made this an experience. There was also 90s and 2000s Hip-Hop and R and B (censured radio edition) playing that was nice. I think it changes from day to day but the was enjoyable. The waitress was good got our order right and smiled during service (hard to get that from servers these days). We were able to bring our own cake and they didn't charge us a cutting or plate fee. That was cool. I ordered something that I wouldn't be too much but sounded really good. It was a site made (homemade) English muffin sandwich with scramble eggs and turkey round sausage inside. Their version of the McMuffin from McDonald's. It was really really dry unfortunately. The waitress was attentive and brought water constantly which was really appreciated. Another party attendee had the Shrimp and grits. He didn't like it much. Another had the Chicken and Pancake. They actually gave the option make the Pancakes buttermilk instead of the Sweet potatoes like advertised. Although he got the buttermilk and said the Pancakes were delicious he said the Chicken was too sweet. The batter it's fried in must have been sweetened. Another guest at out table tasted a piece and agreed. The should give option of batter the chicken is fried in too. It came with apple butter and syrup. He said all together there was too much sweet going on. The other 3 guest had adult drinks the they said were absolutely delicious. One of the ladies at our table need to use the restroom and said the restroom decor was really cool too. This was a fun experience. The food could be better. I would suggest getting appetizers and drinks. Oh and show up when the doors open...wait.. when the sign says they open and get a good seat since it's small and fill up quickly. Loved the music and style.

Yelp
What a special, unique experience. I so agree with people saying that this place isn't just a restaurant/bar but a whole vibe. I've been wanting to check this place out because of the name (I love that Edward Hopper painting) and also because the menu is creative enough to have colorful, boozy cereal milk as part of their breakfast offerings. On my recent visit, I wasn't planning to go but I walked by and saw they were doing happy hour and decided to be spontaneous and finally try it out for a drink and a snack. The staff seemed chill and friendly, the walls/decor made it feel fun, and I loved the music (hip hop/rap/throwback) which was just the right volume of not too loud but not too quiet. My dining partner and I got two clever drinks and decided to share the Nighthawk Nachos, which had some nicely gourmet toppings (like ancho cream, peppadew vinaigrette, and sweet grilled corn) but yet for a pretty affordable price for Venice. Once the HUGE cafeteria platter that is these nachos arrived, I was in love with this place! I definitely want to come back for a full meal (i.e. brunch) and take in all the coolness of this place again.

Yelp
What a yummy dining experience! Saw this place on Yelp and the pictures of all the yummy food drew us in! We had a great experience overall. It's was a hit hot inside, but that's to be expected when they have the front doors open. It just made our drinks melt faster. I would recommend the chicken and biscuits. Make sure to add an egg on top ! The spiked Vietnamese iced coffee will have you feeling good.

Yelp
Got here at Noon &.Closed! Doors Locked! No Signage telling what's going on. Hope everything is OK!

Yelp
Breakfast themed bar and restaurant. Came here on a Wednesday for happy hour and totally forgot that I had a blood test the next day, so I unfortunately could not partake in libations. However, the food is tasty and from the other time I had been here, I remembered liking the spiked cereal milk. Got an order of the loaded tots and a shrimp taco (both off the HH menu). The loaded tots are super heavy and come with a ton of cheese. The shrimp taco had a good kick, though I did wish there was a bit more shrimp. Street parking is available and there was some neighborhood parking as well. Credit cards are accepted. Indoor dining but they have the windows open so it's kind of an outdoor feel. At night, it's a cool vibe with a lot of neon lights and they still serve breakfast bites. The staff was friendly and checked in on us fairly often.

Yelp
Nighthawk is not the type of place I typically visit. I generally dislike brunch places because the food offering is mostly the same, and the waits are usually out of control. On the Sunday morning that I stopped by, I was surprised I was able to secure a table with a same day reservation. I ordered their Bloody Mary to start my meal and though it was really solid. Just the right amount of spice, and I definitely felt a little buzzed after I finished it. The highlight of the Bloody Mary though was the piece of candied bacon that's skewered on top. A bit of sweet and salty perfection. I was very tempted to order a side of more candied bacon but ultimately decided not to. For my entree, I ended up sharing the chicken and biscuit. Very happy I did. The chicken is fried well, the gravy is thick and hearty, but it's definitely way more than I would want to eat by myself for a meal. Things I would pass on on my next visit would be the smothered fries and the ceviche. Nothing too special about these dishes. Overall, pretty good brunch spot. I really like the expansive menu offering both sweet and savory items.

Yelp
This place is really yummy. I have to come back and try the breakfast cereal drinks. The chicken was crispy and had the perfect texture. We really enjoyed all of the food. The drunken french toast is a bit on the soggy side but for some reason it just works!!! Delish

Yelp
Souther kitchen with an LA vibe. The shrimp and "grits" is a perfect example. I'll surely be back to taste the remainder of the menu.

Yelp
Chill vibe with an AMAZING weekend playlist. The music was really setting the mood. Food was delicious and so fresh. Service was great and the bartender especially was on pint and super attentive. If you're in Marina Del Ray, make sure you check them out

Yelp
We came so hungry and honestly left very happy and full stomach! The chicken biscuit was so good with the gravy. So heavy for me, but tastes amazing! The croissant was alright. And the drunken French toast was so yummy, it has some alcohol in it- just an FYI. You love big breakfasts and enjoy that time with some drinks? Then this is your spot!

Yelp
Horrible horrible service. Completely disorganized. NEVER going to go here, staff treats customers like crap and lies to customers. They messed up TWICE at our group's expense. I came with a group of 7 for a friends birthday who had people visiting from out of town, and wanted to try out this spot. Anticipating a long wait (last time I tried I was told an hour and a half), I came a bit earlier than the group to put our name down. I was told it would be a 30 minute wait, which is fine, and we just needed to wait for another party to leave who was at the restaurant's only large table. After 40 minutes I never got a text or call. I checked in and was told my name "disappeared off the list" and it was removed. Ok...? How does that happen. We had to re-add our name but again was told once that same big party left we could sit. She literally pointed to the same table, same party. We waited another 20 min and then our table opened up. That same lady started splitting the tables apart. When I asked her what was going on, she said she "had to seat a reservation", despite arriving an hour before that and being told twice we'd get that table. So she accommodating a group of 2 who brought a kid (so 3) taking their only large table knowing our party couldn't fit the other side. Irritated after waiting an hour for nothing, we got pretty argumentative at that point - and asked why she'd tell us twice we'd get a specific table, plus take us off the list. She never even apologized. Her excuse was that she thought we canceled because my name "disappeared from the list", and told us we could go somewhere else if we don't wanna wait (after waiting an hour already). This was absurd. The lady can't do a basic job. Don't waste your time going here if you're with a group bigger than 4.

Yelp
Service, food, and ambiance was pleasant. I enjoyed their 90s themed hip hop music. The bacon and tator tots were amazing, definitely my favorite. The drunken French toast was good but probably wouldn't order it again. Service was nice, waitress was attentive, food came on time. Overall I would def come back.

Yelp
This place is happening especially if you're younger... loud music, cool drinks... servers were friendly and nice. But if you wanna catch up with an old friend, maybe you should go somewhere else because this is not the place for you!! The loud music will make it difficult for you to hear each other lol. I was mostly disappointed with the food. I ordered the pancakes and fried chicken, my chicken portion was comedy!! It was half of a chicken breast butterflied to make it look bigger! Made me wonder if they ran out of chicken lol It's a classic what I paid for vs what I got!! (See pictures) this place is just all hype, that's all I can say,

Yelp
I went here for my birthday and it was amazing! They have a lot of really good breakfast items and it's a perfect place for brunch! The breakfast burger was really good and the candied bacon was phenomenal. I would highly recommend getting a side of bacon no matter what you get as the bacon here is to die for! Besides the burger, the tots were really good as well and had a nice crunch and sauce on them. I also got the spiked cereal milk and it was not that strong which made it really easy to drink. I would recommend trying the spiked cereal milk at least once as it's something you don't see everyday. In summary, Nighthawk is a great brunch place and has a lot of really unique items such as spiced cereal milk and some of the best candied bacon I've had. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

Yelp
I won't be back and I advise you to save your money, too. THE FOOD The food here is really mediocre. They have a medium size menu, but they decline substitutions, so keep that in mind. They don't have any side dishes, which really is a missed opportunity for a breakfast themed restaurant. A side of eggs, potatoes, fruit even? I ordered the French Toast and they were able to accommodate me with a side of tots. The tots are not on the menu (since they don't really have sides) but you can ask for it. The French toast is super sweet. If your having a cocktail with your brunch, opt for something in the bitter side. The French toast was a really good portion size; I could barely finish it. The tots were a bit too salty. THE DRINKS The drinks are pricey, but average pricing for the area. They're small but STRONG. I paid $14 for Grow a Pear. THE SERVICE And here's the main reason I wouldn't come back. The service is definitely rushed. You will feel rushed eating. Due to COVID, you have one hour to eat. But when the service is a bit slow, is it fair to rush guests out? It took a while for the serve to come back and get my drink order, so I was waiting in that. When our server started to clear our table, she grabbed my drink and I wasn't even done. Wth? THE VERDICT For good food and good service, I don't mind pay above average prices. Nighthawk doesn't have either.

Yelp
I took a photo of the nachos on Yelp but it dissapered‍. Otherwise it was Verry good. A thought the service could have been better. I ordered a cold brew (non-alcoholic) and they do serve a lot of alcoholic coffee but I am Verry clearly under age but they must have messed up at put something in it, the waiter just rudely took it away from me and gave me another one without saying a word. It would have been ok if they apologized or did anything but then she barely checked in on our table compared to others. The inside is cool looking and the food it good.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and it was amazing! We made reservations online and were sea yes right away. The drinks and food came really fast as well. We got the benedict fries which were really good and the breakfast sandwich which came with this candied bacon that was amazing! The english muffin just melted in my mouth. Loved this place!

Yelp
I don't understand why this place was not busier on a Saturday evening, but I'm glad that it wasn't super busy either. The entire staff is so welcoming and have amazing customer service. The food and drinks are so delicious! There were 5 of us and we were seated by the front door with the windows wide open so it seemed like we were seated on the patio. They have a happy hour food and drink menu that is EVERYDAY from 3-7p and all day on Friday. I decided to order one of each of their sliders because, why not? They were so good but I really liked the fried chicken slider. We also ordered calamari, which was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we ordered fried oreos and dough bites. Dough bites were good, but the fried oreos were awesome!!

Yelp
Came in on Friday and my oh my am I glad we did! Friday Funday is just wonderful! There's an ALL DAY happy hour on Friday which includes bottomless mimosas for $20. I love that they kept my glass full! We had a fried chicken slider to start. It was a tad bit dry, but nothing some additional sauce couldn't fix. The all breakfast burger is incredible! But do yourself a favor and get the hotcakes with fried chicken and sweet potato pancakes!!! Whew!!! What an experience! We absolutely loved it! Service was great, food was served hot and delicious, and the music was the icing on the cake! Might just have to go again tomorrow
