This bar is really clean and the vibes are chill. I really like the changing colours and disco theme. I went here to pregame before Subtronics' performance at the Civic Center because my friend was DJ'ing here.Its a great place to meet up with friends.

2 floors. Good cocktails. Had a couple of their signature drinks and a sazerac. Clean gender neutral bathroom. Great decor with fern, mood lighting and a ceiling with slowly moving clouds in a fake sun window.

A great bar in the financial district. It’s a few blocks from my office and a few of my coworkers have gone here for Friday night happy hour. We enjoyed the vibe and the cocktails. They have a great menu and everything we sampled was great.

Overall, it was such a nice experience to come here. The lights and the plants really set the atmosphere. We came at around 7:30 on a Friday and were the only customers there until after we got our first round of drinks. It got way more lively as the night went on. The upstairs was rented out for an event but I hope to come back when it's open, because it looks nice up there.

Enjoyed an awesome cocktail with mezcal and passion fruit, top with sparkling as I read my book in the sunlight - forget the name of the drink so I'll have to go back!

I enjoyed the Wet Mezcal drink a lot. Nearly empty on a rainy Wednesday. Beautiful interior that looks like it’d be a great dance floor and party venue

If you are considering trying this place out, DO IT. Came here on Friday with my group and we loved it. The atmosphere is fun and cozy, the staff are wonderful and the drinks are amazing! They even had a live DJ in the back. Big thanks to Sebastian for making it an extra special experience for us.

What a cool and funky little bar! It's touted as a fern bar, I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean but it did have plenty of indoor plants and greenery in its decor. I would say this also reminds me of a 70s disco lounge. They serve a punch drink that is literally served in a disco ball. If you look at the ceiling, the lights change colors and there's a moving scene. Drinks are refreshing and strong.

Cocktails, no food. Holiday time is decked out and so festive. So many colors, wonderful for pics! Sit anywhere. No server, so order for yourself and bar and bring to your table. Convenient, themed, and lively bar! Stopped by for the christmas pop up bar, and it was a v jolly time Nice upstairs and downstairs seating! Very chill, drinks are more classics and not as experimental, no wait, and didn't have to wait in cold unlike PCH which was a win!

Heard how cool this place was. Showed up and the hostess was extremely rude to us. Told us we couldn't come in said there was no room even though people were leaving. Merriest Bar? Give me a break more like Bitter Betty Bar. Don't waste your time on this place

I stumbled upon this bar when I was walking to a dinner spot, and this place had a Christmas pop up called "The Merriest Bar". My friends & I went here on a Friday night around 8:30pm and it wasn't too crowded yet. But at 9pm, it got really crowded. The decorations was super pretty! There's a bar upstairs and downstairs. There was only one bartender that worked at the upstairs bar and service was a bit slow and the drinks were okay. I thought the stocking stuffer shot was better than the Christmas cocktails itself. Nonetheless, it was still a good time and this bar is pretty close to Montgomery Bart!

Came here for the Merriest Bar Christmas pop up and loved the cute holiday decor and specialty drinks they have. The ambiance is great for the holiday season and the drinks were solid but felt a little heavy with cream and sweet liquor so do be aware of that. It wasn't too crowded when we went around 10pm on a Saturday night but I did see it get busier as the night went on. The location is a bit further out from other bars so luckily it doesn't get as busy here as other Christmas bars.

bartender was rude to us, making comments about our groups IDs ?? we wanted to order this drink in a disco bowl but they didn't have the bowls ? seems like they just didn't want to make that drink for us. they had these bird lights and bar tender went out her way from the bar to tells us not to "fucking" touch them (we were sitting in the back corner too btw) this place was not even a vibe not surprised it was dead on a Saturday night. decor was decent but decorum was not there

Came here for a friend's birthday party and she had reserved the upstairs section for her gathering (cutely called "The Perch" - very fitting to the theme). Sarah (with or without an H) was our bartender for the night and she was absolutely fantastic. I had a pretty large meal prior to coming to the party so I wasn't really up for drinking anything but she made a ginger spritz for me which was so thoughtful of her. It was delicious, refreshing, and just what I needed. There's no food sold at the Nightingale Bar so it is recommended that you eat before you come. The vibes of that place is great and the decorations on both floors are beautiful.

This is a really pretty bar and extremely Insta-ready (honestly not my favorite vibe, but ymmv). It's sort of a fancy tiki look with lots of palms, animals, and plenty of neon. We came on a really quiet night and it ended up being a cool spot to hang and chat. The drinks were solid and service was good. They were mostly slight twists on easygoing classics. Drinks were good, but it would be interesting to see something more experimental.

Run far away from this place!!! unless you like shitty customer service and subpar cocktails. To be fair, the ambience was decent but nothing special. Unfortunately the bartenders (both white) weren't too friendly. I tipped them a bit and they had the audacity to complain that it was a "shitty" amount. I guess they thought they deserved a 25% tip for doing the bare minimum? Maybe they considered pouring a shot of alcohol and soda white glove service? Should've tipped them $0 if I could go back. If that's how much they rely on tips, maybe it's time to consider a 2nd job. Entitled and bitter... pick a struggle

Came to the bar when we saw the cool looking decor. It was Christmas themed. We were all ID'd which was a first as the youngest in our group was 35. They had a Christmas theme going on so they could only make the cocktails on the menu which is fine. Beer was served in Christmas mugs which wasn't great for drinking beer but I guess it was for the theme. Cocktail was fine. Main bartender was kind of rude/weird. But the thing that ruined it for us was that they started blasting really obnoxiously loud metal music a few minutes into getting our drinks. Didn't make sense at all with the Christmas theme and made talking impossible due to how loud it was. Decided to quickly finish our drinks and leave. If not for that would give it a 4/5. The cherry on top: When leaving I told the bartender "Merry Christmas" and he gave a sarcastic "happy HOLIDAYS" back at me instead. Rolling my eyes at this still.

First time going in tonight after walking past it for months and I'm so glad I did! The decor, and music has a very whimsical and chill vibe. The service was great, the bartender was super friendly and nice. The cocktails were also AMAZING. Reasonably priced, tasted great, and came with a great buzz, So glad I stopped in, I will definitely be coming back.

This spot was great! We checked it out on a Thursday night and it wasn't packed. We were able to connect and chat with the bartender-- which my boyfriend and I love to do when we can to get a feel for the drinks and recommendations. Oscar was our bartender and he was able to make us amazing cocktails off the menu based on our spirit choice. The customer service was top tier and made this place amazing. I would rate this place a 4.8 stars.

This place is gorgeous inside, and the vibes are immaculate. I went on a weeknight, and it wasn't too crowded (which typically shoots a bar up to the very top of my "must-return" list) so it was easy to chat with the bartender and order a drink. I'm rarely in this part of the city but whenever my friends working downtown want to grab a drink, I'll be sure to suggest Nightingale as a stop!

Bartender with short Curly hair was extremely rude. Didn't welcome us, had arms crossed the whole entire night. Never asked us once what we wanted we had to drink we had to ask her. Had the nastiest face on her face the whole time, rolling her eyes. A guy came in and went behind the bar and hugged her the whole night. Very bad service wouldn't recommend the service. Ambiance was beautiful but that's all.

We visited this bar a couple weeks ago and it was a delight! The decor is appealing to the eye, ambiance is nice, and the bartenders were amazing! We chatted with Kieran & John, they're great. DJ on Saturday night too!

A solid bar in the fidi area, walkable from a lot of offices nearby. I loved the decor and how clean it was, and it didn't get super crowded but also wasn't lacking in people. Four of us shared a disco ball punch bowl ($50), and it came with plenty of fresh flowers and fun disco cups. The bartender mentioned people can book out the upstairs or the whole bar if they want! A great vibe and time :)

Everyone must try this place is super cool clean they open late and they produce always nice mid upper scale crowd, great affordable drinks

===TL;DR=== - Cocktail: - Rusty nail - Had a live DJ ===TMI=== Let's see.... Mesmerizing motion arts, pretty lights, beautiful bar, you can moon and stargaze in here from a projected ceiling. Lighting? A+++. Drinks: meh. You know when you forgot to take a picture of your food (in this case, drink).. it can only mean 1 of 2 things. Either 1, it was so good you forgot. Or 2, it was bad.... So you didn't bother. I'll let you decide which one that was. I'd say this place was a cool concept, maybe one day I'll come back to explore more drinks.

Nightingale Bar is a lowkey bar with touches of the 70s (disco balls!) and cool lighting for an intimate feel. Alcohol was pretty reasonably priced for being located downtown. Service was just okay, people behind the bar were nice but their security team was a little rude. Our group went upstairs to grab seats and it's definitely a pretty spacious bar. Not too busy on a Saturday night but the group kept it fun and lively.

My friends and I have come here a few times before events at August Hall (in walking distance). Really nice and vibrant decor, good drinks, and the bartender has always been friendly.

We love this place. Nightingale has a unique selection of drinks and the menu is just a start. the bartenders know their mix, they quickly made unique drinks specific to each of our parties palate. If one member didn't like the drink, they quickly made another to serve. very happy with their service. let's talk about ambience and lighting. this bar is perfect for those looking for that cyber punk / psychedelic vibe. music is modern pop mixed with some groove, the lighting is just insane with led backlighting full of yellow, blue, pink, teal, green, and purples. oh and the art pieces, this venue did good. 5/5 overall impression, i give this place a 5 star review. we brought some friends to the city to drink and this place was just a breathe of fresh air.

This might be one of my favorite bars in San Francisco because of the colors, calmness, and laidback yet elegant vibes. I couldn't stop taking pictures -- everything was simple but beautiful! Beware: If you're ordering the Disco Punch in the Disco Ball, it's definitely a lot (especially without food)! I'd come from a different bar earlier in the day where a $50 pitcher didn't get you many drinks, but Nightingale gives a fantastic deal, and you should expect at least six cocktails from the order. I'd highly recommend this place for a small group of friends trying to have a low-key night out.

Don't sleep on Nightingale, this is a dope spot! Met up with a homie here for happy hour after work and decided to sit at the bar. If I remember correctly, I believe I started off with the El Diablo and followed it with the Blue Hawaiian. Both were solid, but that Blue Hawaiian was top notch, so I recommend you try it. After a while, we got to talking to one of the bartenders (Katie?) and she's cool peoples. She's very genuine and friendly. Eventually I had her and the other bartender who was working make a drink for me each. I believe one was a Paper Plane and, unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the other. However, I do remember that both bartenders went in on the drinks and they were fire! All in all, I had a great experience and though there are many bars downtown, I recommend you give Nightingale a try.

I love the relaxing vibe here!! This place is small and not crowded. It's good if you are looking for a place to catch up with a couple friends. The drinks look good, taste good and the prices are genuine! One little thing I like about it is that they have water station next to the bar.

Late post: Thus place is a great hang out after work. Our Bartenders is really good and knows his drinks, liquor and history. On top of that I love the colorful cute decor. I definitely recommend this place if you need an after work relaxing drink.

I was just here with a group last night for the first time and I had a blast! Zach was our bartender - super sweet guy and seemed very passionate about his craft. It wasn't on the menu, but his mezcal negroni was top notch. Really enjoyed the DJ and the music they played. It wasn't so crazy loud that you couldn't have a conversation, but loud enough to Shazaam the songs. Definitely one of my favorite bars in Financial District now :)

Not much to complain about where this bar is concerned. In the somewhat dated FiDi, it sticks out like a technicolor, tropical sore thumb. The space is really narrow, but the interior design has turned it into a trippy wonderland with mirrors and neon birds. There's seating along the bar and upstairs. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the bartender was quick. My friend had the Pink Squirrel ($12) and I had the Savannah Sun Tea ($10). The Pink Squirrel tasted like a spiked milkshake. The Savannah Sun Tea is more of your typical cocktail, but it was nice and refreshing.

Wow! Such a cute little bar! It was so pretty inside and they had a spot upstairs that you could rent out that was our private. Walk in and the decor and esthetic was a huge vibe. The bartender was super friendly and helpful on what to order and background of the place. We got two drinks before out dinner and it was a great start to the night. They aren't super big inside however they have enough space to stand around and it's awesome the sides have a little shelf to place drinks which is really clutch if you don't have a seat!

Rude customer service, discriminatory, poor attendance to customers. The female bartender gave us snarky comments, looked us up and down. The drinks are okay, but the service is very poor. Would not recommend. The ambiance is nice, overall aesthetic, would not come back.

I had been wanting to try this place ever since it first opened. I came a month into opening on a Wednesday after work with a friend and the place was beyond packed, but for good reason! The aesthetic interior design caught my attention and the drinks were equally as amazing. I got the Savannah Sun Tea and my friend got the Freelancer but make it boozy. I love that they have non-alcoholic drinks on the menu (for the friends who prefer it) and that you can make boozy if you'd like. Also love that they have many hooks all around for you to hang your belongings while you chat with friends. Will definitely come back again to try other drinks on the menu!

What a beautiful addition to the Financial District! Interesting tidbit - this is a "fern bar" aka a bar designed for women. They were super popular in the 70s as a contrast to bars that were designed for men. Thus, tons of plants (including dozens of ferns), LOTS OF HOOKS, and a beautiful aesthetic. There is a second bar upstairs with a large comfy couch to hang out with your best gal pals. My new favorite drink in the City is their Pink Squirrel. If you are a chocolate lover, you have to get this drink. It's pretty and it's delicious. They put shaved white chocolate on top. It's heaven. I could drink nine of these and will if I didn't have to pay for them :) I will definitely be heading here again with my female (and male) friends!

Great spot with chill vibes and refreshing beverages. The bartenders make sure you're satisfied. Don't come here expecting quick service but instead quality personnel service with a touch of flair.

looks unassuming from the outside but great vibes inside! we got the disco ball for 3 people to share (two drinks a person) - it tastes pretty strong but worth the value. also comes with fun little disco ball cups to drink out of :)

This bar looks nice and relaxing... but the customer service is absolutely trash. The first encounter I had with the female bartender, I just received attitude from her. If you want to be a bartender, you should be a people person. If you want to be tipped nicely, GIVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Do not spend your money here. There are other bars that'll give you a good time.

DON'T GO TO THIS BAR. Worse experience of my life. There was a Caucasian male bartender wearing a hat and a Caucasian female bartender that night that got mad the amount they were tipped and were yelling at us that we should be tipping $20 every time because they need to pay rent. They ended up arguing across the bar with us in front of everyone for about 15 minutes. The manager ended up closing the bar for the night and kicking everyone out.

What a cute place! I love the decorations and the subtle tiki vibe. I have made it my goal to try Old Fashioned from every bar that I go to so of course I ordered an Old Fashioned! It did not disappoint. Nightingale' Old Fashioned is very simple and clean flavor. The bartenders were very friendly. I love their second floor space as well! I look forward to going back at this place!

Great bar to have a drink with friends/family/coworkers/etc. I was invited here by a friend and he introduced me to one of the cool bartenders named Owen. Owen was phenomenal with service and catered to my drink preferences perfectly! I will for sure visit again.

Super cool bar, the set up is fresh. Plants/succulents are placed everywhere which bring out a nice vibe. I tried the jack Daniels (1st on the menu) which was great but I enjoyed the disco ball the most! It's 10$ for a 1 person drink or 50$ for a huge bowl that has enough for 4-6 people. We managed to finish it with 3 people and still made it to the next bar sooo not too strong but still tasteful. 10/10 recommend checking out this new bar! + the bartender was awesome!!

Bar is cute. Drinks are good. Someone needs to talk to Angel the bartender because he was rude to our entire group of 8. Everyone walked out saying how much they couldn't believe how rude he was. Probably going to stick Rickhouse across the street because his attitude was unnecessary.

I rented the Nightingale out for a private event on a Friday night and it was great event. Fun space, great drinks, central location and they were easy to work with planing my event. Would recommend hosting a party/happy hour/event here, 10/10!

My friend wanted to come here because the ferns drew her in. I'm always hesitant on coming to bars because I'm not much of a drinker, so I'd only be interested in drinks that don't actually taste too much like alcohol. Well, this was the perfect place for me! If you're like me, GET THE PINK SQUIRREL. It tastes like cherries and white chocolate. I downed that so quickly, I felt it right away (whoops). Absolutely delicious, I'm coming back just for that. My friend got the disco punch. I thought the disco ball it was served in was very cute. Hers tasted fruitier. I think ambiance-wise, it's trendy and cute. It's smaller than I imagined, but there's plenty of plants in this place. Not much room to dance, but if you wanted to snag a table and vibe, there you go. When we went, all the tables were taken, only leaving the standing tables available. Luckily, a table cleared up for us. I'm thankful for the abundance of hooks! The bartenders weren't very engaging, but that didn't matter so much to me.

Love this bar!! The owner is awesome and fabulous! He was so nice and respectful! Let us know where to go after and treated me and my visiting friends so well! Highly recommend this amazing place!

The bar is small, and we would have missed it if they didn't have a sign on the sidewalk. The interior is super cute and the drink menu is also very cute and unique. I had a drink that tasted like an adult Sunny D, so no complaints. May be hard with larger parties but a cool spot for 2-4 people.
