New Boston Restaurant Nine Opens With Fine-Dining Menu | Eater Boston

"In the storied Beacon Hill space that housed No. 9 Park for decades, this new fine-dining restaurant from restaurateur Allan Rodriguez is set to open Friday, August 15 with three menus—a seasonal tasting, an a la carte, and a bar menu—and reservations available for August 20 and beyond. Chef de cuisine Andrew Simonich, who started here as an intern in 2019 and later ran No. 9 Park until its 2024 closing, keeps classic French and Italian techniques as the base while broadening influences across the Mediterranean and Europe. Guests can expect beloved staples like steak tartare, a steak, and perfectly cooked duck; a fresh pasta program he prizes (uni spaghetti with squid ink oil and compound uni butter, and chicken tortellini with mushroom ragu); plus new a la carte and bar dishes such as a burger with a foie gras–infused bun for those grabbing a quick bite before a show, alongside a very seasonal, ever-changing $180 tasting menu. Desserts and pastry, including a soufflé, come from Brandon Wells (formerly of Deuxave). The room is lighter and brighter after a redesign by Lorenzo Lorniali and Federica Di Biase of Adige Design, with original brick arches now exposed to bring more light into the back dining space." - Tanya Edwards

We went to Nine with family and friends, and it was an unforgettable dining experience. Our server, John George, was incredibly knowledgeable and personable - he made excellent recommendations and really elevated our evening. The spaghetti carbonara was hands down the best I’ve ever had — perfectly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The wine selection complemented everything beautifully. From start to finish, everything about Nine was top-notch. Can’t wait to go back!

I had the chance to dine at Nine on their opening night, August 15, 2025, and it was a wonderful experience. This new restaurant at 9 Park Street in Beacon Hill has stepped into the old No. 9 Park space and already feels like it belongs there. I was seated in the left-hand dining room, which I’ve always thought is the best one. It’s quieter and more intimate, away from the bustle of the bar and the windowed dining room, and it made the tasting menu feel even more special. I ordered the Chef’s Tasting Menu with the foie gras supplement and a mocktail. The food was generous, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Highlights for me were the carrot blossom pappardelle with lemon and pistachios, the quail with corn purée and greens, and the seared foie gras with cherry and orange. Even though it’s being called a gin palace, my mocktail was given just as much care as a cocktail, citrusy and spiced to pair perfectly across the meal. The portions surprised me—in the best way—because they were much more generous than other tasting menus in the area. My server Mannie was truly grace under pressure—calm, kind, and attentive. At one point I told him something was missing in a drink, and he immediately offered to have it remade, which I gratefully accepted. He made the whole night feel seamless. The only small hiccup was that American Express wasn’t set up yet, but that’s something that will be fixed quickly. Everything else more than made up for it. Overall, Nine already feels refined but not stuffy, modern but still respectful of tradition. I left feeling grateful I got to be there on opening night and I’m excited to come back again.

Nine is a beautiful continuation of what made No. 9 Park special. The food is exquisite—each dish prepared with care, beautifully presented, and as flavorful as it is refined. The service is just as polished, with a warmth that makes the experience feel both elevated and welcoming. Prices are undeniably high, but for a special occasion, it’s worth every detail. I especially loved seeing some of the familiar faces from No. 9 still here, bringing continuity and charm to this new place.

The wait staff was extremely attentive at nine. They were very kind, personable, and checked in at every course. The newly renovated space is light, bright, and had quirky/unique decorations that fit the space well. The food was absolutely incredible as well! Standouts for me and my husband were the quail and the bavette. I highly recommend people visit and get the chef’s tasting menu!

Absolutely gorgeous new interior and design that pays homage to the original restaurant. The team are warm, professional, and extremely attentive. Food was beautifully presented and delicious, of course. Lovely wine program with some amazing hidden gems.

Compliment to the Chef & Team at Nine Restaurant I had the pleasure of enjoying the Chef’s Tasting Menu tonight at Nine, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the amuse-bouche to the freshly baked bread, through each of the six carefully crafted courses, the entire meal was extraordinary. Every dish was beautifully described and executed, with flavors so well-balanced that you could taste every ingredient in perfect harmony. It was an explosion of flavor from start to finish. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the chef and the entire kitchen team for their creativity and passion, as well as to the staff who made the evening smooth and enjoyable. This was more than dinner—it was an experience. Thank you for making it so special!

I had a lovely dinner with friends at Nine! We shared a bunch of fantastic dishes to start including the oysters, brussel sprout salad, octopus and the savory beignets. I also ordered the tagliatelle bolognese which was tremendous. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing with a great view of the lights in the park across the way. The service team was attentive and very helpful with recommendations for wine and menu items. I can’t wait to go back again!

My parents and I just had an absolutely phenomenal meal here—definitely a top meal alongside other places like La Padrona, Deuxave, and restaurants that have since closed such as Menton. We were told a lot of the team was brought over from Menton, including the James Beard nominated chef, which was unsurprising to hear. Everything we ate was phenomenal with few critiques and we will definitely be going back. I would highly recommend the east coast oysters, the pappardelle, and the burger. They are looking to change their menu a couple times per season, so keep an eye out for alterations. Also, a huge shoutout to our server/captain, Matt, for a great experience and also for recommending that 27 years cocktail—it was SO good. Yelp
I had a nice birthday dinner at Nine and was excited to see everything refreshed from the No. 9 Park days. One of my dear friends was in town and took me here for the evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted and the host staff offered to take our coats, which we reclaimed quickly upon departure. I appreciated that the dining room was contemporary without being overly modern--it felt perfect. We were brought a nice, light potato soup as an amuse bouche--finally a Boston restaurant bringing back these touches that elevate a dining experience! We started with the Roasted Arrowhead Cabbage as an appetizer, which I must say is probably the best cabbage I've ever tasted. It came out in a wedge, like a wedge salad, and the chili crisp gave it a kick that I've never seen anyone apply to cabbage before. I might even say it was...fun cabbage?! French Onion Soup has long been a dish that I use to compare different restaurants, and this one was a star. It was full of oxtail and absolutely DELICIOUS! The cheese was the perfect consistency and I just wish everyone everywhere made this unique preparation of French onion soup! I moved on to have the Rohan Duck Breast, which was enjoyable, although it was a bit on the chewy side and the skin could've been crispier for me. I paired this with a glass of the 2020 Cuvee dev Ambassades Côte de Brouilly, a Beaujolais that paired really nicely with the duck. When I scanned the bottle in my Vivino, it was fun to see I had enjoyed the 2015 vintage somewhere else years before. I'll also note they had some inventive mocktails, which I would love to return and sample. My friend enjoyed her carrot cavatelli, and our server was great at explaining which items could be made vegetarian. The standout of the meal, though, was the Cranberry & Ginger Vacherin, which had a sort of matcha reduction around the border of the plate (which worked nicely) and great texture. I LOVED this dessert! They also brought little chocolate bites as an endcap to the meal. Service was quite attentive throughout the evening, and they did a great job accommodating our allergies. The soup and dessert were truly standout dishes, with unique preparations that weren't over the top. There were several other dishes that I'd be interested in trying, so I'll likely be back soon!

Yelp
A great breath of fresh air from No. 9 Park! The space is perfection, the bar was moved from the back to the front of the house and the cocktails are just as good if not better. Food was great. We started with the raw bar platter of oysters, tartare and shrimp cocktails. Then the steak tartare and the seared foie gras and ended with the hand made pasta with bolognese. Excited for this space to reopen!

Yelp
The food is exquisite and the drinks are divine. The service from Manny was over the top. Our entire meal was heavenly but the apple soufflé was out of this world.

Yelp
Amazing experience! Our waiter was so nice and friendly! The food was delicious. May even like this more than No. 9 Park. The French onion soup may have been the best thing I have ever tasted. So excited to come back and have it again!

Yelp
I can't recommend Nine. For a dinner that cost $200/person, I expect an exceptional meal. This wasn't that. For sure it was good, at times very good, but it didn't rise to the level of exceptional. Worse, portions are VERY SMALL across the board. My salmon entree was nice, but it was a small piece of fish, and it didn't have that extra "zing" you can sometimes get when a piece of fish is so exceptional and so well prepared (such as I had in SF at Scoma's earlier this year). The salad was small - why on earth does any restaurant scrimp on lettuce???? The best part of the meal was my dessert - panna cotta, which was actually wonderful, but again, the portion was ungenerous in the extreme. The only saving grace of this meal is that it was a business dinner and I was a client being taken out. But the food needs to be another notch level better - and there needs to be a lot more of it - to justify ever returning to Nine. The place was packed, and obviously the review from Devra First at The Boston Globe (unwarranted, in my opinion) will assure Nine will be busy for a long time to come. Maybe someday the herd will wise up and restaurants like this which put out small portions of very good (but not excellent) food will disappear for good. But unfortunately, it's the norm in the city of Boston. We all deserve better. Thankfully however Montreal is 5 hours away and is there to always remind us of what genuine dedication to their craft by first-rate restaurateurs truly looks like.
