Since I was craving for some authentic Japanese food, I decided to go to Nono and was surprised being told that they had moved to another location few blocks away. Now Ninniku ramen take over, so I gave it try since I could not resist the big, beautiful, welcoming smile from the waitress.
The ambiance is similar to Nono, but it is more spacious now cause they remove some stuffs from the dining area.
For my starter, I got myself a spicy tuna tartar, which I enjoyed so much that it almost took me back to the time when I was in Japan. The tuna was so fresh, hinted with a flavor of spiciness that almost blown my mind, the thin slice of lotus roots that come with it make it perfectly balancing to the dish. The kimchi tofu was so soft and flavorful that I could feel it literally melted in my mouth.
Now come the main dish that I enjoyed the most, of course, the tonkotsu ramen. I have eaten tonkotsu ramen everywhere , from East coast to West coast, from New York to Los Angeles, from North America to Asia, yet the ramen from Ninniku makes me question my own existence for the first time in my life. I wish I could have eaten it way sooner. The broth was so rich and creamy in flavor, that I finished every drop of it. the thin slice of pork belly not too lean, not too fatty was so perfectly cook that it lighten my mood, open my mind, as though I went through the six stages of emotion in 15 mintues while I was eating the tonkotsu ramen. Tear in my eyes, it reminded me of my ex girl friend, Nikita, whom had sadly broken up with me due to some personal circumstances. I wonder if the owner or the chef, whom, undenniable, had mastered the ancient art of ramen cooking technique, has similar experiences.
Overall, this is the best experience that I had have so far, the food and services was so good that I recommend anyone to give it a try. I will be back.
Thanks Ninniku.
