Ninyas, although having a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing restaurant in the Juarez neighborhood, lacks that wow factor when it comes to the food. The dishes were underwhelming at best—nothing special and downright mediocre. The service was good for the most part, we were treated well. But the food was a disappointment, especially given the high prices. I expected much more but felt dissatisfied.
We started with the teriyaki gyozas, which were nothing special, and then had the tempura prawns, which weren’t tasty at all. I found myself eating more of the fried bits than the actual prawn.
Overall, not only did I feel disappointed, but also still hungry. For the high price, underwhelming food, and still being hungry, it was the biggest disappointment I felt.
