Nittis Italian Restaurant and Bar in Hell's Kitchen

This place is amazing. The food, service, and atmosphere are all great. We ordered several things including lamb chops, lasagna, chicken parm, and all of it was delicious. The atmosphere is very cool, with art throughout the space. We had their chocolate chip cookies with steamed milk for dessert and ended up ordering it again the next night. My son spent some time drawing on the paper placemat and then gave it to the owner, Nitti. Nitti was so friendly and kind, and he spent some time sharing with us that all of the artistic elements in the restaurant were designed by his son. Overall, this is a great restaurant run by great people. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Found this gem Walking looking for a cozy place to have date night . Saw the menu and we immediately knew we wanted to step in. The maître d' was so welcoming and hospitable. He ensured that we were comfortable, took our coats and then frequently came to ask if we were ok. I haven't been to a restaurant in years with such great customer service . Even the owner came and asked our meal was ! The food was spectacular ,I was enjoying my dates company so much that I didn't take pics . We got the Bolognese and Caesar and split it. I missed old school NY restaurant service like this . Thank you and I'll be back :)

I came here for dinner with a friend, and was impressed, especially because of the restaurant's unassuming exterior. The interior was sophisticated with a black, red and white color scheme, as well as dim lighting. There was a warm ambiance to the place. We had to ask for it, but were given complimentary garlic bread with olive oil and vinegar. The bread was still warm, crunchy, fluffy, with strong garlic taste. For my entree, I ordered the Veal Sorrentino, consisting of veal layered eggplant prosciutto with fresh mozzarella, served with sautéed veggies and potatoes. The veal was lightly pounded, tender, and well seasoned. The eggplant was cooked perfectly, while the prosciutto added an extra yumminess. The mozzarella was irresistibly melty with tasty sherry sauce. The veggies included zucchini, carrot and squash. They were a nice fresh touch and had just the right consistency. I also enjoyed the potatoes, which had a satisfying crispiness. My friend and I also shared the Truffle Oil and Pecorino Frites, which were oh so addicting and delightfully crispy with authentic truffle flavor and sharp flavor of the cheese dusted all around. I also had to get the Calzone Alla Nutella dessert, which was absolutely huge and beautifully presented. I had to take half of it home. The plate was decorated with strawberry sauce and chocolate sauce, as well as strawberries, blueberries, along with raspberries. The outer shell of the Calzone was satisfyingly crispy, filled with warm, oozing, rich, delicious Nutella. Service was decent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Prices were not too bad, especially considering the Hell's Kitchen location. I would be open to returning to try the Shrimp Parmigiana or Steak & Frites.

Took a road trip up 95 and used Yelp to find dinner when we arrived. The restaurant was beautiful and intimate. And the waitress was so sweet. She was attentive and ensured the birthday girl was taken care of. We ordered the Caesar salad, eggplant, Parmesan, and mushroom ravioli. We topped off the night with a birthday tiramisu and cappuccinos. It was the perfect setting for a 40th birthday and they made us feel so special.

We visited Nittis on a girls trip and this place was really close to our hotel. It was a 2 min walk and we made reservations. Inside was very moody and swanky with red velvet bench seats on many sides of the tables. The service was excellent with many staff who attended to us. They were fast, friendly and informative. Overall great experience

The food was amazing. I only took a photo of the dessert, but both the dessert and meal were very good. The service was good, and our server did a great job of refilling our water (we had 3 bottles of it). As for the ambience, the lighting was very dim, which set up a nice vibe for the night meal.

Before the NYC marathon all Italian restaurants were booked, so we got take out from Nittis and brought it back to the room! We got Nonnas salad (which is like a house salad), a pizza, and pasta! Everything was delicious and while we waited in the restaurant for our food, they let us sit at a table and brought us water which I thought was very thoughtful of them!

Needed to find a place to eat that was open late so found this gem. It was quite a walk from our hotel In Time Square and was in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood but the food and service made up for it. We had the caprese salad, vermicelli vongole which is clams in a white wine sauce and the PAPPARDALE RAGÚ WITH BURRATA which was a Bolognese sauce with a touch of cream, topped with burrata. Portion size was perfect and the taste of each dish was even better. The ambiance was casual and clean, lots of seating. Service was prompt and very friendly and attentive.

This is a bit off the beaten path, but a close walk from Hudson yards and Times Square. They have outdoor seating. The star of the show is the espresso martini DB6... It is a must get. The best espresso martini I've had in a while. Between the salted honey vanilla syrup and the pink salt on top, it had such a nice salt finish and it was delicious. I got it first and the rest of the table ended up getting it afterwards because it was so good. They also give you complimentary bread with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and parsley For my main, I got the Chicken Mamma Mia- breaded cutlet/eggplant parm with vodka sauce. It was good, but not something I'd have to get again The service was really good, they were very attentive.

This is a cute little restaurant and after reading the reviews, we were looking forward to trying it. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty - there was just one other table occupied. The person who seated us still gave us one of the worst tables in the restaurant. We asked to move and she seemed annoyed, but allowed it. Our server arrived and he was friendly and attentive. We ordered Mozzarella Sticks, Bucatini Pomodoro, Eggplant Parmesan sandwiches, Tiramisu, and Miami 1981. The mozzarella sticks arrived hot and they were good. Everyone enjoyed them. My daughter liked her Bucatini Pomodoro. The Eggplant Parmesan Sandwiches were so dry that it was like eating stacked dry toast, but the french fries were very good. The cocktail was sweeter than I expected, but still good. The kids enjoyed the Tiramisu. We enjoyed the ambiance; I just wish the food had been a bit better. Maybe it was an off day.

Very friendly staff, they came over a couple times to check in on us and the owner was super friendly. I could tell the vibe was very intimate and almost felt like family in a way. The food was decent, my friend and I had the ricotta bruschetta that was pretty good. They also do give a small bread basket with olive oil complementary. The bread was really good. We had the fall special pastas, I cannot remember the exact names (i will try to take a look and edit this review if i find it) but they were like half moons! The dessert was so good as well, portions were larger than we expected. Although we stayed late we were not rushed at all as we caught up and drank some prosecco and wine. Will be coming back here!

Hidden gem! We walked by and stopped in simply because my daughter wanted mozzarella sticks.. little did we know the entire dinner would be absolutely amazing! We had mussels, mozzarella sticks, pizza and chicken cannelloni. There was a bit of a blip with service but they gave us a free glass of wine while we waited. It was no problem because everything was delicious.. including the wine. We will definitely return on future NYC visits.

Nittis was a fun late night dinner place to visit while in the city. It was about a mile away from the hotel at Times Square so we enjoyed the walk after an evening at the theater. They offered us complementary bread basket which contained SCRUMPTIOUS garlic bread and twists (10/10). Our meal started with calamari, which was just okay. We shared a burrata ragu parpadelle that was to die for! The star of the show was the tiramisu! It was not too sweet but moist and flavorful. It was a nice touch that they served it with a sparkler and sang happy birthday. I took one star off because on Yelp it says that they were open until 2:00. People we knew recommended this place because they said it was open late, but when we got there at around 10:45, the server told us that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes and that we'd need to order soon. I thought this was strange for a Saturday night so I asked them about it and they said that they close early when there's not a lot of patrons. That seemed strange to me and something that they should clarify on Yelp. Other than that, the experience was pretty good.

Such a fun little corner restaurant! The pasta and wine were great! The best tiramisu I've ever had!

I love the atmosphere but for me the experience ends there. The staff were friendly and attentive. Well, the restaurant was open super late. The egg plant parmesan was all breading. The fried calamari had no flavor. The marinara was fair. The meatball was the shining star but still lacked the flavor you expect at an Italian restaurant in NYC.

Once again lobster, ravioli, angel, hair para, pasta, with garlic, and broccoli, and a phenomenal bottle of wine A+ it's been a year but still amazing food!!!

Had dinner with a co-worker last night kinda as a "pre-game" brainstorming for today's meeting and tomorrow's concept launch at Eataly NYC. We split.... Seafood Salad Meatball with Grilled Bread Eggplant Rotolini Bucatini Pomodoro It was so fresh, light and pure deliciousness! A perfect dinner!

After a Broadway play, my wife, daughter and I were to meet after 10pm near Times Square at a recommended restaurant. When I arrived before them, there was a sign saying they were closed for a private event. I had my wife reroute her Revel driver to Nittis since Yelp had good reviews and indicated they were open until midnight. I walked several blocks in the rain to meet them just as a woman came out and told my wife without explanation the kitchen was closed! It was well before 11 and the sign on the door also said they were open until midnight. Frustrating. We walked several blocks in the rain to finally find a good Italian meal.

I like the place, the veal Sorrentino was good, but could have been more tender. The meatballs were good; the sauce was better. The service was good; the owner was better. It feels pretty historic but after a friendly chat this location is only about 7 years old, they moved from Lexington where they stood for over 30 years! That's a lot of hard work and dedication, you can tell it's part of old NY or at least inspired by it. Old NY is fading out fast and Nittos at least has an undertone you can feel and taste. I wish they had matches, I think maybe they might have back in the day so maybe there's one or two in rotation I can snag one day, here's to hoping. I love a good restaurant matchbook. Very rare these days.

I recommend Nittis! 1. Their res service accepted a last minute request. 2. We walked to Times Square after. No more than 20 minutes. 3. Their service was fast! 4. They were a little too quick and assertive with drinks. We had an open bottle of wine and sparkling water within minutes. Wasn't our plan when we walked in. 5. Atmosphere was just right, a little loud but comfy. This is a smaller place. 6. Food was great, we had the eggplant. 7. Desserts were pricey so we passed.

Not too busy on a Saturday night. They have a pretty good variety of menu items. The bread and oil they bring out is really good, it's almost like a garlic bread. Drink prices are kind of high and a bottle of the house cabarnet was $60. The calamari appetizer was a generous portion and pretty good. Unfortunately most of our entreees were just ok or not good at all. Both people in our party who order fish (salmon and red snapper) said it didn't taste fresh at all. I had a veal dish (veal sorrentino) which was alright but kind of tough and definitely lacking some salt or seasoning. I enjoyed the eggplant parmesan my brother had. Overall probably wouldn't return as we spent $400 and no one really felt satisfied.

We had a delicious dinner here celebrating our son'a bday! The food, service and ambiance were all amazing! Thank you for making our dinner experience one to remember! We will be sure to visit when we return to New York!

Great vibe in the spring, summer and fall. The bread service is divine and prices are affordable. Not a tourist trap!

Fantastic mussels! Got a bottle of Cabernet to enjoy and it was great! My espresso martini was a salted which was GREAT but the balance wasn't quite right. Atmosphere is great - could be casual and intimate, depending on the time or day. Service was good!

Nice restaurant in a good spot away from touristy areas. Great for dates and laying low away from crowded spots. Food is good value overall. I don't think it is a true Italian restaurant just one that serves Italian style dishes but not in the traditional style. Nothing wrong with it of you're looking for a good date meet spot.

I'll start with the service because it was great. They are quick and accommodating. They are experts on what and when to order-including what is best for to-go options which we needed for the person in our party who didn't come to dinner. They brought bread to the table-I didn't try it because I was saving room for my Frutti Di Mare. My dinner mates ordered drinks and enjoyed their Veal and Chicken dishes. They also enjoyed their crème brûlée and cheesecake for dessert. I myself loved my dish and finished with the blueberries and cream from the crème brûlée. It was a steady crowd, I booked a reservation on the website to be sure we could get in. Recommend you do that on high traffic nights for theater. Great vibes and we were seated in a corner booth. The weather was nice so the side was open so we had fresh air coming in. And a great view for people watching of all the passerbys.

Popped in here on a rainy afternoon while walking in Hell's Kitchen. The reviews looked good on the trusty Yelp! App, so we figured it was a pretty safe bet. There was some good and some not-so-good. (+) Cozy, but comfortable little dining area. The bar area was set up very well. It was a nice little respite from the heavy pouring rain in NYC this afternoon (+) They serve Cacio e pepe! The dish was very solid. Not as good as I've had in NYC and Rome, but better than anywhere else I have had it, including a handful of times in Las Vegas. (-) At some point, an order of fries were delivered to the table. They dropped them off and said, "Enjoy!". We told the server we didn't order fries. He jus smiled and said to enjoy. So we did. lol After a handful of bites, they came back and swooped the basket of fries away without any kind of acknowledgement. We just kind of looked at each other like "oooooookay?" lol I'm pretty sure there are a lot of ways that that situation could have been handled better. None of them happened here. (-) Price didn't seem to match what we had. Two pasta dishes and 2 diet sodas ran roughly $75. (We were NOT charged for the French fry sample :P). Seemed a little on the pricey side. (+/-) Service was okay, but the way the fries situation was handled seemed a bit tactless and certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. Nitti's wasn't terrible, I just expected better. 3 stars.

Nittis is a casual spot with a solid menu and good service. While I didn't have a drink, they had an extensive drink menu that sounded great. We ordered the chicken mama Mia and veal saltimbocca. Both were generous portions served nice and hot. My husband and I enjoyed our selections. I even had enough to take home a full portion as leftovers! Service was good, friendly and efficient. Reasonably priced for the area. A solid spot for a low-key lunch or dinner.

Great food and service in Hell's Kitchen! We went as a group of 10 late on a Monday with no reservations. We wanted a quiet place where we could talk as a family after a memorial service. Needless to say, we could not have picked a better place in this busy neighborhood. Everyone enjoyed their food - somewhat traditional Italian done well and reasonably priced. Great drinks. The staff was also amazing - attentive and friendly- and even gave complimentary tiramisu for the table. Thank you, Nittis, for helping make a stressful family event better!

The food is pretty good, but the experience I had here is bad. When I asked the waiter if I can cancel the dessert he said okay, then after the dessert came he said he told me he already put on the order so I can't cancel it? And I sweared he didn't say that to me when I wanted to cancel. I fully understand if my order can not be cancel, but at least have someone who can speak correct English. The tips charged automatically 20%. What a nice dinning experience.

Just a "hidden" gem - currently eating here and couldn't be any more pleased with the experience. The service has been fantastic - food was excellent and even had an opportunity to meet the owner. We'll return next time we're in NY

The food was excellent! Definitely get the puttanesca. We also had eggplant Parmesan and lasagna. All delicious. Very tasty tiramisu! The food came out fast which was great because we were hungry after a full day at the Javits. Service was fast but we never felt rushed. The owner was very hands on helping his staff. Moving tables. Busing dishes. We will definitely be back!

I had some great delivery from here tonight! This was my first time trying their dinner menu. I came for brunch a few months ago and really loved the food. I was excited to try dinner here tonight, especially because they had $5 off on seamless! I ordered the caesar salad and the cacio e pepe pizza. The pizza was the STAR of the meal! It really tasted like cacio e pepe pasta in pizza form. The crust was paper thin and so delicious. There was so much flavor! I would order this again and again. The caesar salad was good, but I felt it was overpriced for the size and quality. I feel like it needed more croutons, especially for $14. I would probably skip this next time. I think this is my new go-to for pizza in Midtown! Next time I would love to try the vodka pie. I bet it is awesome!

It's really decorated very lovely inside & they have outdoor seating as well. I had the bruschetta & crab cakes & it was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more food options :)

Service was impeccable. Staff were attentive and service was quick but not rushed. The timing of the food was also perfect especially for a busy night. Now for the food. Seriously one of the best Putanesca's I've had if not the best. (And I love Italian and a bit of a food snob at times.) The lasagna and the eggplant parm were also amazing. Everything tasted fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Wow! I've lived in NYC for almost 20 years, and this was my first time at Nittis. I've walked by many times and always thought it looked cute. I had dinner tonight and the food and service were fantastic. I got the Caesar salad and a special pasta of the day (spinach and ricotta) and a limoncello spritz. Food was excellent across the board. I've been to Italy three times and this was just as good. Food came out quickly and all the staff was welcoming. I will return!

Came here with my work team for lunch. Overall it was pretty average; I think the prices seemed a bit steep for what they were, but I guess that is most Italian places in midtown. My lasagna could have been more flavorful. Not bad, but I probably won't come back any time soon.

Walked in to find a quick bite. Service was fast and attentive. We got this truffle pasta, chicken, and steak frites. The truffle pasta was good, the chicken was kind of bland, and the truffle fries were good.

Gotta love that you can stumble upon a great Italian place and just be wowed at how great it really is! We had a decent sized party and were able to get served drinks and apps quickly. We had the burrata salad, arancini, calamari and their house garlic bread flats with olive oil and balsamic to start. They had many options available, from salad to lamb and back again. Perusing the menu, the option that grabbed my attention was the pappardelle bolognese, yet they had a pappardelle ragu with burrata that jumped off the page at me. The pasta was perfect, the sauce and the chunks were outstanding, the burrata put it over the edge! Great setup, loved the color playoff in the restaurant, not too dark but just right!

We were desperately looking for places to eat in New York when we stumbled across this place. We didn't look at reviews and just hoped for the best. Lucky for us this place was amazing. The drinks were all amazing. I got a Miami 1981 and it was delicious. The only thing I will warn about is this drink has an egg white foam on top and has a bit of a strong smell. I got the Pasta Cacio a Pepe and my partner got the Pappardelle Ragu & Burrata. Both were delicious !!!! The music playing inside was nice and the lights were dim. Something I loved about this restaurant was the bathroom. It looked like a mini club and me and my roommate had a blast. I would certainly come back to this restaurant.

Fantastic food. Good ambiance. A little loud due to traffic. I sat at the bar and the service was great.

We stumbled upon this place because it was close to our hotel. The decor is not fancy, but the food was really good. I tried the meatballs which were juicy and had a great sauce. My main course was the kale salad that had pears, apples, Gorgonzola and almonds with an orange sage vinaigrette- fantastic! Others in our party ordered the chicken paillard (which was a grilled chicken breast with arugula salad on top) and pasta with vodka sauce. Everything was tasty with good portion size.

Really good food. Pasta was cooked well. Meatballs were hot and moist good portions fair price. Finished it with a slice of NY cheesecake and cappuccino. Great ambiance and service. No complaints here which is why I give it five stars.

Wonderful pasta! The truffle dumplings were so delicious. Caprese salad was fresh as well and the large charcuterie board was well worth the price for the size and meat and cheese variety. Service was very good and fast and the ambiance was wonderful, though a little loud on the street but that's what you get for sitting outside near midtown. That's definitely not the restaurants fault!
