NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"This massive Hudson Yards restaurant looks ripe for a power lunch, or post-work cocktails and dinner. Nizuc is a Mexico City-inspired spot with a 226-seat space, and a menu with things like octopus carpaccio, roast chicken with mole, and a whole grilled fish." - will hartman

I loved the food and vibes here from the design to the staff! The place is definitely trendy, but still holds the flavors and feeling of a traditional Mexican restaurant with its unique furniture and lighting. I loved the modern take on Mexican food. I definitely recommend the Fajitas, Octopus, and Carne Asada! We were a table of 8 and we were able to spend about $60 a person and feel extremely full. The staff were great and attentive to us as well making sure to swap our plates out if things looked too messy at a time! Would highly recommend going here if you are in the Hudson Yards area.

Very nice brunch spot Food was very good The service was excellent It took a little negotiating to get an outside table, even though there was nobody outside when we went in. Excellent brunch food, including the French toast, which was excellent with crème brûlée filling The breakfast burrito was fantastic with a very nice avocado creme Oddly, they charged us for extra trips after we’ve spent $16 9! guacamole They were very nice and brought a specialty cocktail for free for both of the moms to celebrate Mother’s Day . The iced coffee was not very strong, but in general, I would go back.

Incredible experience at Nizuc! The décor and lighting set the perfect tone, and the music added to the vibe. The food was outstanding — everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The bar team really knows what they’re doing. Best margarita I’ve had in a long time!

Absolutely loved the vibe at Nizuc! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a night out with friends or a date night. The food was exceptional — full of flavor and beautifully presented. And the cocktails? Easily some of the best I’ve had in NYC. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Such a beautiful spot with friendly staff and delicious food. The cucumber margarita is smokey and refreshing. Really also liked the Nizuc margarita. Cannot go wrong with the guac and then the eggs Benedict is the best. So delicious. Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Not too busy earlier in the day but gets pretty filled up for brunch.

NIZUC in Manhattan is a true gem for lovers of fine Mexican cuisine. The beautifully designed space creates an inviting and upscale atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for an exceptional dining experience. The food? Amazing!. Each dish is crafted with authentic flavors and top-quality ingredients, offering a delightful taste of Mexico’s culinary richness. The service is equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and ensuring a fantastic experience from start to finish. I visited with my family, and NIZUC is an ideal place for sharing and exploring a variety of dishes together. Whether you're indulging in classic favorites or discovering new flavors, every bite is a celebration of great food and great company. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy exquisite Mexican cuisine in a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere!

Been meaning to try Nizuc for a while since it's been popping on my ig feeds forever now so was super excited to see it featuring on the NYC restaurant week list. My friends and I booked a $30 lunch for a Saturday but were told they don't do restaurant week deals on the weekend. We still decided to give this place and I'm glad we did. Started off with the Hot Toddy and Espresso Martini. The drinks were well made, specially the Espresso Martini. For food we ordered the Egg Benedict, rib-eye gringa tacos, fish tacos and guacamole for the table. The food came in good time and everything was wonderful. Except maybe the fish taco.It wasn't bad but just paled in comparison to the other things Finished our meal with their take on Tiramisu (layered with tres leches). Definitely a strong finish. Will surely visit again. The place itself is huge and has a welcoming vibe.

I recently dined at Nizuc, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The decor is modern yet comfortable, creating the perfect ambiance for a relaxing meal. The food was absolutely divine. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. which was a delightful mix of fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced seasoning. The service was impeccable as well. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. It’s clear that the team at Nizuc takes great pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. Overall, Nizuc is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets. Whether you’re looking for a special night out, this restaurant is sure to impress. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their amazing menu!

Yelp
The pork belly al pastor tacos might just be the best tacos I've ever had in my life. We came at an odd hour, but service was fantastic and very attentive. Food came quick and my glass of water never got below half filled before a waiter stopped by to fill it for me. Only downside is the location, which isn't really in the heart of anywhere. Still, it's definitely worth the trip!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a group of four. The ambiance is interesting - at first look you think it's classy but then you notice they are going for a more playful vibe as well. They had a live DJ and they were playing music and remixes you would expect at a club. The service was attentive. Maybe a bit too attentive since it wasn't that busy on a rainy day. The food was really good. We got: - Guacamole with tostadas as chips - Branzino fish - Chicken with red mole - Carne asada - Pork belly al pastor taco - TiraNizuc - Natilla De Chocolate The Branzino fish entree was my favorite! It's cooked perfectly and I like how there's no hint of bitterness - which I've tasted in many other restaurants. I have never had the red mole before. It's much spicier than the classic darker colored one I'm used to. It was too spicy for me but I liked how they have the option to keep the chicken feet on the dish. It was aesthetically pleasing! One of the dish came with a side salad and purple corn tortillas. Delicious meal and a great time! Would recommend.

Yelp
It only took one visit for Nizuc to make it to the top of my favorite restaurants! The food is so so good here. The restaurant is fairly new and I could tell by the beauty in the space. Service was impeccable and I loved the ease in finding a reservation the day off, although I expect this will change once more people find out about it! Starting with the food, the Carpaccio de Pulpo was my favorite - not much to say about it except that it's a must and you will not be disappointed. The tacos although on the smaller side pack lots of flavors, I could've eaten 6 of the Campechanos easily. esquites were good but I wish the corn was grilled instead. The Tiranizuc - their twist on a tres leches cake with coffee cream - was amazing as well. For cocktails I recommend the Pretty Paloma or a classic flavored Margarita which always works. I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Given the high ratings we were expecting to find our favorite New Mexican restaurant. The food was good, but nothing particularly creative or interesting. The service was very slow, particularly for the cocktails. Also, for a Friday evening we were expecting a good vibe. Instead it wasn't that busy which made the slow service a bit odd. Overall I'm not inclined to return.

Yelp
Came back and loved everything we ordered! This included the carne asada, grilled Branzino (which comes with a side salad), the shrimp appetizer (packed with flavor and comes with heads), and the side of mushrooms. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Really enjoyed this spot. Newly opened and we were looking for a place to have a group dinner. They have a great spot for a semi-private dinner in the back which can seat 30-40 people and has a screen which can project movies or slides how's. The food was great. We started with the guacamole which came with tostadas and it has a nice kick using chili oil which is unusual but very good. We also had the fish tacos and carrot tostadas which were just OK. We got the caesar salad which had some kind of nuts or seeds which added a nice textual contrast, which I love. We also got the corn (which was OK) and the mushrooms which had a nice earthy and complex flavor. Our main course was the fish and the chicken mole. I normally don't like mole but this chicken was tender and the mole sauce wasn't sweet and had some nice spices to it. The fish was equally delicious with a green chimichurri-type sauce to it which was great. The service is great as they were very attentive and brought us extras of items we enjoyed. While I think the food overall was uneven, it was generally enjoyable and a great place for a group dinner.

Yelp
Pretty solid meal with amazing service. My favorite was the flor de calabaza tacos, guacamole with salsa matcha, and the tres leches tiramisu. The carrot tostada was the only thing that I wouldn't order again but it was plated beautifully.

Yelp
Nizuc, a newcomer on the scene adjacent to Hudson Yards and Hell's Kitchen, promises upscale Mexican-style cuisine and, has fully delivered. Coming in early on a Saturday evening just after 5pm, it was fairly empty but filled up quickly while we were there, bar and dining room alike. While not cheap, we found that everything we ordered was truly great: from drinks and appetizers to main, sides, and desserts. Classic margaritas are made boozy and balanced, with a choice of regular salt, spicy salt, or gusano salt (worms, yes worms) - we tried the gusano it was a really nice finish on the marg. For food, we got two apps and an entree to share - however, it's important to note that they brought everything out together. So, I'd be sure to request if you want anything "out first." But otherwise, the tuna tostada and whitefish flautas were made so well , and the carne asada - which came out medium rare - was tender and melted in your mouth , seasoned perfectly. We also got the side of hongos, a fantastic complement to the meal, especially since we needed a few more veggies. Then, when we thought it couldn't get any better, we checked out the dessert menu and landed on the tiranizuc, which is a tres leches cake made in the style of tiramisu. This was mashup of a dessert I never knew I needed in my life and probably one of the best tres leches cake and best tiramisu I've ever had. While it's definitely a treat as prices are a little higher than some of the other spots in Hell's Kitchen - don't walk, but run to Nizuc to check them out soon as I'm sure in time, it will become a very, very popular spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in NYC to date. It wasn't like a traditional Mexican restaurant that you may be used to. It was more elegant like, and the food was absolutely phenomenal!! We started off with the guac and ribeye chicharrón which was soooooo good. Yes, the ribeye was an extra $20, but honestly worth it in my opinion. Out of our apps I really loved the little gem cesar the most. The concha's con corizo was ok. I definitely enjoyed the broth more than the clams themselves, and my friend who is actually from Mexico loved the little buns I have attached in the picture (I forgot the name of it), but it wasn't really my style... I'll take her word for it though haha. We then got the fish, al pastor, and birria tacos. They were ALL AMAZING to the point I couldn't get enough. We even told the table next to ours to order the same, and they loved it too! On top of that, we did order the Chamorro, which is like a pork shank, and it was so good - it fell RIGHT OFF THE BONE!! Absolutely delicious. Off the cob elote was ok - wasn't really memorable but at that point I was so full that I couldn't really tell. And of course, I couldn't finish without ordering dessert, so we got the tiranizuc which is a spin on a tres leches cake which we liked. Overall dinner was great, and our waiter was so nice and friendly. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Friday night on a whim because the interior looked really lively. The ambiance is great and chic. The food was a little pricey but I found the tuna tostadas to be quite tasty. The signature dessert, which is a mix between a tiramisu and a tres leches, was the highlight of the dinner!

Yelp
Are you craving amazing Mexican food in Midtown? You have to check out Nizuc! From the moment you walk in, three friendly hostesses greet you and make sure your requests are met--we always love getting a corner table. Once seated, our waiter, Josh, promptly took our order. I decided to try the guacamole and a watermelon mocktail. Both were fantastic, especially the mocktail, which was delicious without being overly sweet. The highlight of the meal was the pork belly tacos--fresh, hot, and exactly what I wanted. We also enjoyed a cucumber margarita, which was excellent. And of course, we couldn't skip dessert! The Tiranizuc is a must-try; it's a delightful blend of tres leches and tiramisu. The atmosphere was classy and airy, with great music that made me want to dance. The service was incredible, the busboys came by receptively with a smile to ensure our needs were met- a rarity in the New York dining experience. This neighborhood really needs a restaurant like Nizuc! We'll definitely be back with friends. If you're looking for a delicious meal and great service, Josh was fantastic, sharing funny jokes and a cool vibe. Come here for a wonderful dinner!

Yelp
Great cuisine and very friendly staff. We'll will definitely be back. Everything was better than we expected.

Yelp
The food is out of this world! Every dish was so delicious and FRESH! I had a hard time picking what to order because the entire menu is incredible, I can't wait to come back and try more. The space is beautiful and effortlessly vibey and service is genuine and warm. An amazing addition to the neighborhood and well worth traveling for.

Yelp
We ordered tacos from Nizuc when they first opened and they were delicious. The guacamole was particularly special in a delightful way. The last time we tried to order from them we were told they no longer do takeout orders. I hope that will revert.

Yelp
Went here for Sunday brunch. Cesar salad was delicious. Also enjoyed the fish tacos, tuna tostada, and guacamole. I wasn't the biggest fan of their sangria, but enjoyed their blood orange mimosa and my friends enjoyed their margaritas. Service was very quick. Great deal for their bottomless drinks for only $25.

Yelp
I was in NYC for work, and on our last night, I chose Nizuc because it was close to our hotel and wanted Mexican. I had no idea how new it was, but it seemed to be running pretty well. The food was excellent, and the service was polite and efficient. The prices weren't bad, and we found out when we got our checks that there was a grand opening discount applied! We had guac for the table, and it was delicious. I had the Al Pastor tacos, which were tasty. My associate had the chicken mole and gave me a taste, and I think he won. The next time I'm in New York, I'll go again for sure!

Liz M.

Yelp
If you want amazing Authentic Mexican food, Exceptional customer service, drinks are to die for! (The condesa and the espresso martini de olla are my favorite) On the food, try everything (I've gone more than once haha) the service, Omar, Rodolfo, Michael, and the manager Tiana were amazing! This is definitely a place you have to try if you're in the Manhattan area!

Yelp
The staff regularly checked on me with the friendliest face and welcoming demeanor. The lighting against the wood tones made me feel very comfortable and the music selection was just my flavor (Imagine Sting playing João Gilberto or if Jenifer Hudson were to sing Selina). For my meal I had the Rib Eye Gringa and Papa. A thin crisp potato skin blankets the papas (nuggets of joy for any potato lover). The fragile outer casing has been lightly dusted with cilantro, chives and salt that's invisible to the eye. They all work to protect that warm soft almost creamy center of very delicious and NATURAL tasting purple and white peewee potatoes. This is what I chose to complement my Rib Eye Gringa Tacos. The aroma coming from my plate was majestic, and the taste of the taco's elevated my dining experience to a level of pleasure that Im not quite able to explain. The flour was perfectly cooked... Slightly crisp but maintained a chewy integrity, holding its shape and keeping the food inside the taco while my teeth tore away at the gourmet tasting succulents inside. I already concluded it was delicious from the first 2 bites, but I was still forced by the magnitude of my satisfaction to close my eyes while I finished. Yummm.... For desert I think I will have the Natilla de Chocolate.

Yelp
They did a good job with our large group, if a little slow. The restaurant is pretty, the food presentation is also lovely. The tequila old fashioned was alright. I wish the chips that came with the guacamole were regular and not rounds served upright. The chili crunch on the guacamole was a cool touch.

Yelp
Great restaurant!!!! Great location, service was impeccable, drinks, food, ambiance top notch!! Highly recommend

Yelp
Great food, nice space! Recommend! Food was tasty and had some fresh takes on classics. Note - pollo con mole has a whole chicken foot poking out of the plate.

Steve T.

Yelp
Excellent all around. Had the garlic shrimp appetizer, the chicken with mole, tacos, and the chocolate dessert. Every dish was excellent, bold flavors, great seasoning. And the best margarita I've had in NYC. Great service as well.

Yelp
We came here after picking up my husband's NYC marathon bib from the convention center. It was an easy walk and I'm so glad we looked at yelp for recommendations. The restaurant seems newer and the decor is so cute. Not your typical Mexican restaurant for sure. They hit the nail on the head with refined coastal Mexican decor. The service was top notch and the food itself was phenomenal. I got the fish and even my toddler gobbled it up. We even opted for dessert not because we were still hungry but because all the desserts sounded amazing. The coconut flan was out of this world! Another must try is the cucumber margarita, not too sweet and not too strong, just perfect!
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
It is a spacious place and a very comfortable environment. Diners can look into the kitchen and see what's going on, and whatever they're doing in there they're doing it well. We had five diners with very different tastes and everyone was satisfied with the quality of the food and authenticity. I never order chicken mole from most Mexican restaurants as it is too heavy and sweet, but the one here is medium red guajillo-based and the chicken had a very slight grilled char. The corn tortillas were beyond good and sopped up the mole with ease. Drinks are strong and the music may be a little loud but that encouraged vibrant conversation. Excellent service.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and this was my first visit. The space is warm and inviting with great lighting and music. Arturo was our server and he was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delightful too! Can't wait to return!

Tim O.

Yelp
Ordered the Tuna Tostada and the Al Pastor Tacos. The tuna was refreshing and the tostada was packed with flavor. Pork Belly in the taco melted in your mouth.

Susan Q.

Yelp
The food here is excellent--the chef has truly perfected the menu. However, the GM comes across as socially awkward, and his lack of enthusiasm unfortunately detracted from our experience.

Mark K.

Yelp
Wife and I went here for dinner. The food and drinks were good with our favorite being the tuna dish. Ambiance was pleasing and service was attentive.

Michael C.

Yelp
Amazing food and ambiance! Highly recommend the ribeye and al pastor tacos. Will be back regularly.

Gabe G.

Yelp
The food here is phenomenal. Highly recommend the rib eye tacos. Great service too - very attentive and friendly. Was impressed that this is only their second night!
