"“Modern noodle bar” No Strings Attached is out after just over a year on North Fifth Street, according to an announcement on Instagram. The restaurant with Japanese, Italian, and Japanese Italian dishes (think: angel hair pasta with uni) will reopen at Downtown Brooklyn food court Hana House, at 345 Adams Street and Willoughby Plaza, under the name NSA Noodle House." - Luke Fortney

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was not up to par to the standards seen on the website. Before I start I would like to say the service was excellent and that was not an issue in any way. My issue was really with the food. I ordered a wagyu skewer which was over cooked and quite salty, not really wagyu and I felt like we were charged too much for such a small appetizer. I could tell that the meat was cubes feed but it was just a little chewy in texture and it wasn’t worth the money. My friend ordered the spicy chicken ramen which was a decent ramen, a little on the salty side as well but the noodles were chewy. I got the uni Angel hair pasta but unfortunately I found it terrible. The only flavorful thing on it was the uni itself. I tried to mix it with the noodles but the Angel hair noodles and clean sauce were quite oily and flavorless. I have had uni based pastas before and thought it would have some hints of yuzu and miso in it to enhance the overall flavor but it was too much pasta, no flavor, and I was disappointed. I hope this restaurant does succeed as they take feedback and improve their menu. I would be happy to try it out again if that happens.

Very disappointed. We had a 6pm reservation to sit outside. We ordered the following : -fried chicken -shishito peppers -scallop fettuccine -chilled Yuzu shrimp ramen Fried chicken- when it arrived my sister and I both said to each other "Did we order McDonald's chicken mcnuggets?" It looked like it. Very heavily breaded, and tasted like frozen chicken mcnuggets. McDonald's might have tasted better. In any event, we tried to give it a chance since we were hungry but in the end it was really just a frozen chicken mcnugget that was heavily breaded. Not worth it for $15. If it was good, I would have no problem with it but this was absolutely unacceptable. Shishito Peppers - you usually can't mess that up but these came out soggy and many burnt. Chilled Yuzu Shrimp Ramen - I grew up eating ramen (fresh and instant ramen) and this was NOT what was served. It was LO MEIN. The noodles were terrible. When we asked the waitress she said it was a twist on ramen. OK if that was the case, then it should have been noted that it was "ramen" in the form of lo mein. The texture was not ramen. The texture of this noodle was lo mein. And can somebody help me understand what part of this ramen had Yuzu? There was no citrusy flavor at all. Not even a light lemon. Forget Yuzu! The dipping broth was bland and not well balanced. Tasted like somebody just threw the soup packet from an instant noodle into a chilled bowl and said "here you go". I will not speak about the fettuccine since I did not eat it. But all I want to say is that my sister loves her carbs and she DID NOT finish this. When we shared our opinions with the waitress all she said was OK, "I will share your thoughts with the chef". They did not take the ramen off the bill even though I shared my thoughts. I have not been in many situations where I had to ask for a dish to be taken back, but the few times that I've done that they always took it off the bill. I'm not here to nickel and dime a restaurant but when the food is misrepresented, this is NOT OK. In this covid world, we dont get to eat out as much as we'd like anymore but I feel like I wasted my calories on a very disappointing meal tonight.

NSA (No Strings Attached) Noodle Bar in Williamsburg is such a unique spot to visit. I was shocked by the versatile menu items - there is literally a dish for everyone in terms of flavors and ingredients. The Japanese and Italian-American inspired plates really push imagination to new heights. I decided to order the PORK BELLY GUA BAO to start (4 pieces - Braised Pork Belly Steam Buns | Yuzu Coleslaw | Spicy Mayo) and the HOTATE MISO RAMEN (Pan-Seared Sea Scallop | Shiro Miso Broth | Menma | Shio Soft-Boiled Egg | Scallion | Nori | Naruto | Corn) and the WASHUGYU GARGANELLI (Braised American Wagyu Ragu Sauce | Garganelli | Parmesan | Basil | Garlic). My favorite plates was the Washugyu Garganelli, it was so savory and decadent, the first bite melted in my mouth. There is something magical about the fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine, and the combination of non traditional meat, veggies and techniques. Additionally, the interior is so cute, the gentle lighting works wonders in their cozy open space.

My go to Ramen spot whenever I’m in Williamsburg. So far my hubby and I tried chilled shrimp Yuzu shoyu ramen, truffle tonkotsu, uni angel hair pasta, vegetarian ramen and scallop miso ramen. Everything is so good and we’ll keep coming back until we try everything on the menu! The artwork is by my favorite Japanese artist Pesu and so cool as well!

Noodles were mushy, service was a little rude. Not that kid friendly. Menu kind of random. I think they need to do a better job making it not seem like a random dive / sports bar when you walk in, and make it feel more like a restaurant. Also, the ramen was so mushy that's not a good sign. I'm not sure what this place is trying to be but if you want asian noodles and Italian pasta mixed together this is an option.

A BYOB hidden gem A beautiful small restaurant with nice ambiance and outstanding food!! We got battered octopus balls, uni pasta and truffle tonkotsu ramen — each dish tasted phenomenal!

Best experience I've had so far! Customer service was exceptional & they went above and beyond for us. The food was delicious & exactly what I've been looking for in Brooklyn. I got the Truffle Tonkotsu & my husband got the Panko Takoyaki. We were so impressed with how flavorful & beautiful these dishes were. Can't wait to go back for my birthday next month! It's a bit of a distance from us but worth the drive. I highly recommend!

The restaurant interior was beautiful and the service was exceptional. However the food missed the mark. The menu items sound better than they taste. Not all bad. We had takoyaki as an appetizer and they were good. I ordered the shrimp yuzu shoyu tsukemen after a long hot day in the sun. I initially liked it but then I remembered I was supposed to get the yuzu flavor from the broth. It was just regular cold noodles, the yuzu flavor was non-existent. Additionally, the grilled shrimp tasted way too peppery but it did not taste seasoned. The sweet corn, sweet peppers and seasonal mushrooms could not balance out the overly peppered shrimps. It is a pity.
