Google
Their potato curry is one of the best potato dishes in the world! No, seriously, this is something that you must must try. I haven't found this potato curry dish anywhere else other than No Thai. It is their signature dish, and it is perfect! The crab wontons and drunken noodles were insanely good, too. You can not go wrong with anything they make.

Google
Tried No Thai a few times over the past couple of weeks, and it’s been great. Food is awesome and comes out pretty quick. I will say it is packed on game day Saturdays though, weekdays are much better in terms of waiting in line. Decent serving size for the amount I paid. Recommend it.

Google
No Thai was my first ever Thai restaurant I’ve been to. I had the gang pak red curry and rice with shrimp. It came out in just minutes and was absolutely delicious when I took a bite of it. The portions are huge for the prices. It’s a shame that I don’t live here or I’d come here everyday!

Daniel Yang

Google
No Thai is one of the best restaurants for value+taste in Ann Arbor. The portions are always huge and the food is very tasty. You can never go wrong with the sweet and spicy chicken or the pad Thai. There’s always to-go boxes on the counter making it easy to bring extra food home and the service is almost always fast. The workers are always friendly and the only thing I wish changed is that they were open on Sundays 🙏.

Google
I'm not sure why this place gets so much hype; maybe because it's one of the few Thai places in Ann Arbor (which is odd in itself). I've had so much better Thai food in so many other places. That being said, the speed 💨 and price 💰 of this place makes it very convenient for college students, thereby raising my overall score.

Justin Thomas

Google
The food is great. The only issue is they stiff you on the portion when ordering to go. Sweet and spicy chicken when dining in is a ridiculous amount, but when you get it to go, it's 1/3 of the size. Tested and proven. Not sure why they feel the need to short me on their delicious chicken. Maybe order in, then pack it up to go yourself.

Google
We have been coming here for years; it's always been pretty good food for a reasonable price. There were three of us today, and we all found our food to be quite salty, almost too salty to eat. Also, I ordered a gang pak, which is what I always order. I was given a gang ped. Understandable mistake, and I didn't want to waste food, and I like gang ped too. So I just went up to tell the guy about the mistake so that he would be careful about distinguishing between the two in the future. He did offer to have it remade for me, but I said that I didn't need them to that; I just wanted them to know about this easy mistake to make. He insisted that I did order a gang ped and was not apologetic. I tried to explain that my whole point is that I could have ordered a gang pak but he could have honestly heard gang ped, and it was just something to be aware of in the future. He didn't seem to understand. He shrugged and suggested that I could avoid this in the future by ordering by number. We will not be back.

Google
Pretty good food. Prices are fairly cheap and portions are normally sized. Would recommend if you like Thai!

Yelp
I usually get the Drunken Noodles with tofu and Dim Mak spice. Portions are generous, and service is fast, even when it's packed. It works for a quick sit-down meal, but it's perfect for takeout or a late-night study break! Great comfort food--especially if you're craving heat and don't want to think too hard.

vaibhav s.

Yelp
BLAND. It was just boiled noodles. No taste, No flavour, Not even a drop of curry in Pad thai curry.
google avatar

Kendall B.

Yelp
Ordered the pad seeyu and it was delicious! Haven't ordered it in a couple of years and it seems like they changed the noodles from a couple of years ago so I was a little disappointed. Was able to order and receive my food very quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
I have only ordered take out from No Thai before, but it is just as good as if you were at the restaurant. I typically get it delivered by door dash, and my food order has always been correct. Even with large orders when there is a bunch of us ordering together at work. Pad Thai and drunken noodles are my favorite. They give you a ton, and the leftovers are even better the next day. I eat tofu, and their tofu is my absolute favorite, cooked just right! When you walk in the restaurant, you order your food at the register and then there are tables to eat at if you choose to eat there.

Neha V.

Yelp
The drunken noodles were pretty good and saucy like really wet and saucy. The noodles were pretty spicy so beware of that but overall good place for a quick bite.
google avatar

Oliver K.

Yelp
Despite the name of the restaurant there was only Thai food; leading to much confusion and a loss of appetite.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with a classic No Thai dinner. I always get the pad Thai with tofu and the green curry sauce which adds a nice flavor. Super quick service which is great and a nice talking atmosphere as well.

Josh F.

Yelp
Iconic, delicious, ready in 5 minutes, great service. Sit down seating available but you pick up at window. Free water, sauces and chop sticks. Generous portions for the price. 13 dollars for entrees.

Yelp
Food (3/5) - Does the job in a pinch, but note that it doesn't taste like authentic Thai food (probably wasn't meant to). Was actually less greasy than I expected. Got the drunken noodles with chicken in medium sauce. The scale skews a little mild, if you are used to eating spice can definitely "size up" so to speak. Noodles were the right texture if not a little too al dente, usually it's the opposite problem. Chicken and egg were fairly flavourful. Expect it to be salty. Service/Ambiance (2/5) - Came on St Patrick's Day so obviously the place was extremely crowded. Multiple people cut the lines brazenly and the staff didn't do anything about it, though not sure that it's their responsibility. Food comes out at normal pace, expect a 10-15 minute wait. They give you a little tag and then call the number when the order is done, at which point you have to fight through the sea of people to get to the front of the counter to get your plastic bagged up food. An experience to say the least. Price (3/5) - Adequately / a little high priced, close to 15 when it's all said and done.

Yelp
I could tell that love was put into the curry that I had eaten the night I ordered in from No Thai! with my friends. The potato curry was so perfect my friends and I remarked there had to have been generations of familial love and perfection put into the recipe and wars waged over the recipe. The fried rice, pad Thai and crab wontons were also amazing. This meal literally made our day.

Yelp
Pretty solid Thai food for a cheap price and a quick meal. This location is one of the better ones around the Ann Arbor area as they don't overlook the noodles. But all of meat is a little dry so I usually get tofu as a protein. My favorites are the pad Thai curry and no Thai fried rice. The fried rice has great flavor that a little different than traditional fried rice!

Scott S.

Yelp
Perfect college hole in the wall. Cheap food quick service and large portions you can get 3-4 meals out of (A)

Yelp
Great portion sizes! Loved the noodle and fried rice dishes. Good prices and plenty of leftovers. Timely order for pickup and was fresh and hot when I got home still

Yelp
tldr: the best place to have a quick lunch in all of Ann Arbor No Thai was a college staple of mine, and since graduating, I make it a must visit when I'm in Ann Arbor. I am so surprise that this place only have 3 stars, it really is perfect to me. It's consistent, tasty, and affordable, I don't think there is a more perfect combination. I've tried all of their dishes, none of them disappoint, their portion size are large, and their prices are fair. Also I'm pretty sure they have not had a price increase in the last 5 years. I used to go for their highest spice level, but I've since moved down to a medium, their spice level is not for the weak hearted, so if you can't handle spicy food, go for their lowest level, or choose no spice at all.

Mark D.

Yelp
It's fine. The food tastes 10x better when you get it Dine-in. However, if you get it to-go it tastes days old and dry. I eat here a lot and every time I get it to-go the limes look days old along with the veggies and they barely put any sauce in it. So strange!

Yelp
. Drunken Noodles: It's my first time to order food in US. Disappointed. toooooo much salty and sweet! Beef is kind of like pork.

Ellie S.

Yelp
The food at No Thai is always incredible. I find it to be a great option on campus with several locations. Also, i love that you can order there or for pickup or takeout. The service is always very fast and kind. Moreover, I find all the menu items to be affordable which I appreciate. The inside of No Thai is nice as well and I enjoy sitting there for a meal.

C C.

Yelp
Food is average. Deliveries take way longer than they tell you. Estimate of 45 min took 2 hours- food was cold on arrival.

janiece w.

Yelp
My daughter ordered a side of "crab rangoons today. My son picked up the orders. As soon as my daughter offered me some of her crab rangoons, I remembered that I had ordered some a year ago, and they HAD ZERO CRAB IN THEM. I cut the rangoon in half searching for crab and sure enough there was not a drop of crab. I went back to the menu to see if maybe the description eliminated the word "crab", it did NOT. What a joke! But this time it's on them. DO NOT ORDER the fried cream cheese with scallions because that's all it it.

Yelp
No Thai! is a great place for a simple meal near campus. After 4 years of attending UMICH, this was actually my first time getting No Thai!, and I'm glad I finally gave it a try. It's definitely not authentic Thai food, but it's good and worth your money. Pros: - Affordable ~ about $10 - Large portions ~ you can easily split your meal into two - Fast service ~ my friends and I actually called ahead so we could have it ready by the time we arrived to the restaurant - A good amount of options ~ You can choose between a noodle dish or rice dish - You can choose your spice level ~ choose between no spicy to dim mak Cons: - Oily/greasy - Spicy level doesn't seem to be consistent to it's description ~ I felt as though the mild I got felt spicier than what I thought a mild would be - The noodle dishes seem to be way more noodles than well everything else ~ My pad thai was supposed to have chicken, sprouts, green onion and eggs, but I felt as though there were barely any chicken and green onion - Peanuts were kinda soggy ~ I don't really like peanuts (I forgot to order it without peanuts), but the peanuts that came with my pad thai were kinda soggy and didn't really have much of a peanut flavor to them Overall: - I'm glad I finally tried No Thai! and definitely see myself ordering it more. Although it's not authentic Thai food, it's pretty addictive and not too expensive.

Yelp
Good, fast Thai food. Not looking for anything but flavor. Pad See Ew is so good and I hate to admit that the sweet and spicy chicken is an indulgent pleasure when you want that American-Chinese food. Proper expectations for comfort Thai food. Don't over complicate it.
google avatar

Minna A.

Yelp
I love drunken fried rice and drunken noodles. The pad seeyu is usually a bit dry on top, and you really need to look hard for the sauce sitting at the bottom. The beef is usually a bit dry too.

Yelp
Genuinely this meal cured me and my roommates depression. Everything was so freaking good and the potato curry was the star of the show every needs to try this. It had so much flavor I know it's been passed down from generations this potato curry is phenomenal everything is amazing

Matthew S.

Yelp
The food quality changes. I found the food was actually really good when I ordered it there but when I got take out it was much worse. The food is decent if you need some quick food.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
It's in the name lol. If this is your first time trying thai food, please know that this is not authentic thai food/flavors. Traditional flavors like lemon grass, coconut milk, and thai chilis were completely missing in my pad thai. Instead, my pad thai was just sweet and watery. I drenched my noodles with sriracha, but I think it made it worse. I asked for medium spice, and got flakes of black pepper. While the flavors were lacking, the amount of food you get for the price is great, hence the 2 stars. But this is not Thai food. Note: They do not serve any Thai tea either.
google avatar

Yelp
No Thai is a no go for me! It's a fast casual Thai restaurant where you get to choose your dish, protein, and spice level. My pad seeyu came out very quickly which was a plus, however it lacked in many other areas. My noodles were undercooked and had a rubbery consistency. The sauce was very runny and didn't have too much flavor besides a sweet overtone. There were way too many bean sprouts. Some of the other dishes looked much better, and I'd be open to trying them in the future.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
BEST "thai" food ive ever had. GOATED sweet and spicy chicken, POTATO CURRY AND pineapple fried rice. yoga flame spice level is best!

Willow H.

Yelp
I have been going here for probably 10+ years, and it's my favorite place to order take out in Ann Arbor. 100% a high school staple. It's usually fast turnaround for ordering. I wouldn't recommend going into this expecting it to taste like traditional Thai food, because it isn't. It's like the chipotle of Mexican food. I think the price is pretty fair for the portion size, but they did increase it recently. The food is usually consistent, but tbh it's impossible to know how spicy it will be, because I think the cooks just estimate how much of the spice mix they put in each order and it varies person to person. I would probably say that's the biggest downside. I personally love it, and my favorite dish to order is potato curry with tofu. Although I will say the dish I think is lacking the most in flavor is the regular pad thai, I would rec the curry one.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
No Thai is so addictive. I enjoy going to this place with friends. When I am craving late night food I always stop by. I always come here when I want to eat something before I tailgate. Yes, this place is always pretty busy and loud. However, the portion is good and it fills you up. I wish the quality could be a tad better and sometimes it can be greasy. This is definitely college food place. The service is really good and the employees are always nice and friendly. My friend's boyfriend worked there and he still goes to eat it with her. Unfortunately, this place is a tad bit far from where I live but I think it is really good place to stop by (worth your buck) REcomMend!

Yelp
No Thai is quite literally the college student staple, it's an average $10 for a decent meal. I don't think I've ever heard anyone specifically say that they find no thai particularly good, but the food isn't bad and it's quite customizable. At No Thai, there are several options for meat: beef, chicken, shrimp, and tofu. Shrimp costs an extra $1, and I've personally never had it. Their beef usually comes out a bit chewy and dry, so I recommend their chicken because it's less difficult to eat and cheaper than the shrimp. Spice level is also adjustable, but really thats entirely dependent on the chef. I've had medium spicier than their "dim mak" (their spiciest level). Their sweet and spicy chicken is really worth the price if you're willing to wait a bit; the chicken is fried and it always tastes amazing. For the right balance of veggies, carbs, and meat, I'd go with the potato curry because it literally has all that plus a nice sauce that goes well with rice. All in all, No Thai serves decent food that can be nutritious, but it's just not consistently good enough for me to give it more than 3 stars. Sometimes they forget to salt my food, or my food would come out very late if at all. They have great positives but also solid negatives too that make this a mediocre place.

Deborah H.

Yelp
The most flavorless pad Thai I've ever had. It came without any sauce, which I have never seen before. We ordered from them on two separate occasions, to give them two chances. Won't be ordering from them again.

Frankie S.

Yelp
literally amazing. great prices. incredibly fast. such good flavors. i love that you can make your own--aka choosing your own protein and sauce. such a good stop for all the college students. not much seating though.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone who is new to Ann Arbor I was pretty pleased with this restaurant. It's walking distance from the UMich campus and you get your food insanely quickly, making this a great spot to grab lunch in between classes. I thought the menu was pretty different from other Thai places I've been to. Although more limited and not as authentic as your typical Thai restaurant, I liked the simplicity and the ability to customize. I went with the Pad Thai Curry with tofu and the mild spice level. I don't normally get tofu but I think it went well here, and the spice was pretty much what I expected, if not a little milder. The flavor was great, the pineapple was an interesting addition, and the portion was really good for the price. Definitely give this place a chance for a quick bite. It's convenient, fast, cheap, and flavorful. 5/5.
google avatar

Julian W.

Yelp
They raised their prices this year (inflation amirite..) but the portions are still really large and good given the new prices. The food is definitely not authentic but it is pretty good. However, I would say it is a 50/50 on how salty your food ends up. Sometimes it's just right but sometimes it is way too salty and I need to chug water afterwards. I wish the tofu was softer instead of being so hard. The service is very quick, which is nice.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
I always get diarrhea when I eat No Thai, which is phenomenal because I have GI problems that need to be cleared out. Great taste, great price, great portions. 5/5.
google avatar

Jerrice D.

Yelp
Frequent this location when on or near campus. Food is always good, noodles are perfect and rice as well. Although, my most recent visit where we dined in, my drunken noodles spice level wasn't as spicy and the spring rolls seemed over cooked. However, my Heartbeat brought me carry out when I was in UMH and they were cooked perfectly. (He brought me drunken rice and not noodles but I ate it anyway because, well, hospital food). The spring rolls were back to normal and crispy. I wish Brighton would be more consistent in alignment with the other locations.
google avatar

Omar R.

Yelp
It's no secret that Ann Arbor has very little quality Thai food. Now that Marnee closed for good, I think No Thai is the only restaurant that resembles Thai food on campus. Which is really unfortunate because Thai food is awesome and this place sucks. Their food is sort of in the vein of Thai food... But it tastes very watered down and extremely heavy/greasy. It's like the Panda Express of Thai food, fast and convenient but utterly bland, way too oily, and will make you feel gross after you eat it. Unlike Panda though, it isn't even good value-- there's hole in the wall Thai places near my hometown that give you more food and actually good quality at this price point. So what's the upside? It's fast, it's open late (better drunk food than Panchero's, at least?)... That's probably about it. No matter how hard you're craving Thai, just don't go here-- it's not worth it and it won't even scratch the Thai food itch.
google avatar

Josh A.

Yelp
No Thai South U has cut their portions in half. It's best to go to Kerrytown where portions are still normal sized and service is faster.
google avatar

Ethan L.

Yelp
No Thai is very addicting. It's a place where I can get some cheap and good food quickly. It great to go with friends to talk and hangout. It is a bit noisy because it is pretty busy. However, it is still a good restaurant to go. Warning though, some may not like it because the food might be too greasy. I recommend you to get the Potato Curry, my favorite on the menu. The Pan Thai and Drunken Noodles are pretty good too. They are priced right costing about $10, $9.5 if you pay with cash. Overall, I recommended this place if you want a quick and cheap food or just want a good meal with friends. However, if you want some authentic food, this isn't the best place to go.
google avatar

Vikash K.

Yelp
Horrible Thai food place! The staff is rude and always mess up orders. Been here couple of times and every time get the poor service as the last. The food is bland, mostly tasteless
google avatar

Jordan M.

Yelp
The consistency fluctuates WILDLY. Sometimes the food is serviceable and most of the time it's bad. Do NOT get the green curry, which is as tasteless as the quality of ingredients are poor. The pad Thai is OK at best and dull at worst. My buddy said the curry fried rice is decent but I've never tried it. Honestly you're better off ordering from any number of other Thai spots.
google avatar

Jeff K.

Yelp
If you want a No Thai dish go to the Plymouth road who gives you your moneys worth!!! The downtown 4th ave is chincy on their protein whether it be chicken or shrimp all you get is a bunch of noodles and it doesn't even taste good (too much liquid) and they get your order wrong. Never again will I use this No Thai they suck!!!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Boyfriend and I got the no thai fried rice (chicken/medium spice). It's okay. We've been to other no thai chains that were more appetizing. The rice we ordered were overly greasy and oily.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
I've been pretty consistently disappointed by this No Thai location. I kept trying the place because there are few other Thai food options in downtown Ann Arbor (I live on campus). One of my biggest complaints is that you never know what you're going to get with spice. Sometimes, when you get mild spice, you can't even tell they put ANY sort of spice in there. Other times, you get mild and your mouth is on FIRE, which is why I hesitate to upgrade to medium. They should somehow make spice level more consistent. It can't be that hard! I came here with a friend who is vegetarian a few weeks ago and she ordered the Pad Thai with tofu. As she was eating her dish, she found not one, not two, but FOUR pieces of beef in her food. Luckily, she's pretty easy-going and not as squeamish about meat as some of my other vegetarian friends. However, this seems unacceptable! When you order a vegetarian dish, you expect that the restaurant cooks it in a different pan that dishes with meat in them. Clearly, this pretty straightforward standard is not one that No Thai holds themselves to. TL;DR Vegetarians beware!

Julia A.

Yelp
The food is actually so good but the guy on the phone referred to the Hill as the "student ghetto" so do with that what you will.
google avatar

Stella T.

Yelp
One of my favorite guilty pleasures! Okay, so it's not really authentic Thai food... It's more like fast food. When I went there for the first time, I was surprised that the curry wasn't as thick as other Thai curries I've had. But oh boy, it does hit the spot when I'm craving Thai food. It could be because this is the only Thai food I've had in a while, but I've grown to love No Thai! I haven't disliked anything that I've eaten here. I love the noodles, rice, and curry! You can't really go wrong. The drunken noodles gets pretty salty towards the end, but it's still delicious. I love the curry fried rice too, especially because I love pineapples. One of my favorite curries is the potato curry, but they're all good! You can choose your protein and spice level, and I always go with chicken and medium. Portion sizes are generous, and the price is pretty fair! If you call for pick-up, you can pretty much walk in right after. They work quickly! I crave No Thai pretty frequently, and I'm glad that I live so close!
google avatar

Nick O.

Yelp
Ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and medium spice. There's room for some flavor palette improvement. Leans a little too sweet as opposed to an equal balance with salty and savory. Noodles were cooked well enough and the medium spiciness complimented the food comfortably. Bottom line: A tasty, simple, and filling meal ideal for your hungry student, but nothing to write home to Mom about.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try this place out. I ordered the tofu green curry stir fry?? I thought it would be an actual green curry like in a typical Thai restaurant that you would expect to see. The plate had rice and the stir fried green curry and vegetables and tofu, the quality and presentation was okay. However although the taste was good, for the price it was not large enough portion-wise. The experience overall was average, but did not make an indelible impression on me. Perhaps I would come again and try something new and see what else they have to offer. I'm not certain how many of their dishes are vegan friendly and the concern about preparing the food if it is really cooked on a different grill or stove to avoid cross contamination. It would be great to have that peace of mind while eating at establishments that also cook meat with their dishes.

Yelp
Ann Arbor is a culinary oasis but No Thai! might be my favorite place of them all when comparing the quality of food to the price. No Thai is a fast casual Thai restaurant located off of South U. The restaurant is pretty small so seating can be a challenge at peak times but the restaurant is very clean and food comes out quickly. You order at the counter and the process is pretty simple. Pick your dish, pick your protein, and pick your spice level. The menu consists of Thai noodles dishes like the classic pad thai, some rice dishes, and appetizers. My favorite is the drunken noodles which comes with green onions, sprouts, and bell peppers. The portion sizes are big and should last you for two meals. No Thai should be Yes Thai!
