Watch: Why the Rich and Famous Flock to Restaurant Chain Nobu | Eater

"Credited with popularizing the pairing of yellowtail and thin jalapeño slices, this global restaurant chain — with nearly 40 locations from London and Ibiza to the Bahamas and Mexico City — was built around chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s reinvention of sushi and his influence on American sushi culture. It’s known for signature dishes like fried rock shrimp with spicy mayo and miso-marinated black cod, and for luxe, high-priced omakase offerings; despite the upscale presentation, the brand is notable for its consistency across cities, with diners reporting that locations in different countries feel virtually the same." - Eater Video

Intimate setting and delicate flavors at this great sushi joint. Yes. It's part of a chain that has several locations worldwide. The dishes I liked are the rib eye tacos, they are tiny and deliciously crunchy. The hamachi tiradito, and the shrimp

The food at Nobu was absolutely fantastic—fresh, high-quality sushi with incredible flavors. However, the service was seriously disappointing. We struggled to get the waiter’s attention just to order or even receive menus, as if we had been completely forgotten. Despite making a reservation a week in advance for the main dining room, we were placed at a table on the front terrace, which was far less desirable. While Nobu is undoubtedly a great place for sushi and quality food, the service during peak hours is poorly managed. The staff seemed disorganized and undertrained, making the overall experience frustrating. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend avoiding busy times to ensure a smoother dining experience.

Great atmosphere. Food was horrible. If you are Asian or live anywhere with good Asian food, don’t even bother going there. Uni was not fresh, eggplants were chewy and slathered in too much sauce, and the Chilean bass was rubbery. Plan rice was good though. But probably only because I haven’t had rice all week.

I was there on friday. Food was really good - I’m not a huge fan of shrimps but for the first time I enjoy eating them, they were really good. BUT When the waiter heard that I didn't speak Spanish, he said "no mames" and left. Then he came back and he started speaking to me in Spanish. It was not hard to heard that when it was just me and you. I know some words so I understood that you are not happy to talk to me in english but remember you are at work at pretty good and expensive restaurant and I didn’t ask for too much, I just don’t speak your language. Overall it was good experience.

We were looking forward since a long time to go to Nobu… unfortunately all the wait was not worth it. We have not been to any other Nobu, so maybe this one is exceptionally bad, however we really regretted having spent an evening & our money here. Service was simply not good, the bathrooms looked dirty (worse than on most cheap restaurants in CDMX), there were bread crumbles from previous guests on our chairs, the menus were dirty and spotted by food pieces from previous patrons etc etc… The food itself was not bad, but mostly very primitive and definitely not worth the high price. Fish of Sushi was fresh and tastey, the rest was a big disappointment. Eg this was probably the most boring & tasteless Ceviche we ever had. The only real exceptionally nice dish we had was the Mushroom Toban Yaki. No idea how this could have gone so wrong as the restaurant has in general good ratings. My assumption would be it‘s a lot about the name & probably people simply go there to show-off. If you are actually looking for good food and don‘t care about the Nobu pic for your Insta… look somewhere else, esp. CDMX is sooo full of amazing food & exceptional restaurants!

This place is beautiful and of course expensive. We opted to do an 8 course chefs pick. For the price we really were not impressed. The presentation was decent the flavors should have blended well together but were poorly executed. Dessert was the best course.
