What an exceptional dining experience, made truly memorable by fresh, high-quality ingredients and a fantastic set menu that highlights the best of the season. Each course was beautifully prepared by Chef Nobu himself, who was warm, personable, and engaging throughout the meal. His attention to detail and passion for the craft made the evening feel special and intimate. The service team was equally outstanding and were attentive, friendly, and thoughtful from start to finish. Altogether, it was an amazing and unforgettable evening that perfectly blended incredible food with genuine hospitality. Be sure to make reservations!

This was the most unique dining experience I have had. The setting felt very exclusive. The food was all very good, and even fish I had tried before and disliked at other places was very good. The food was fresh, and we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed.

Only look at reviews from the last 3 years as they moved and changed to a smaller venue, smaller menu, fine dining only experience. They were phenomenal! Very interesting and intimate experience!

One of the best places I've ever eaten and worth every penny. We went for the 3 course option for our anniversary. They wished us a happy anniversary and even brought us both a complimentary glass of prosecco! The food was extremely high quality and prepared perfectly. The service was flawless. Just perfect for our special occasion. 😊

Without a doubt, Nobu's is the finest Japanese cuisine experience I've ever had. Possibly the best dining experience overall. Everything was beautiful, thoughtful, and delicious!

Went there with my sister, who works there, best meal experience ever! It was so much fun! The server timed the plates such that we didn't lose focus on the food trip we went on, of which every plate was fantastic, luxurious, authentic. I got a cold sake on the side to sip on between bites, perfect for the meal. I will keep going back for sure.

Dined in at the sushi bar for the six course omakase dinner. All of the food was meticulously prepared and the fish was incredibly fresh and high quality. Everyone there was friendly and attentive and were excited to share stories about the dishes, their family, and Japan. Some big highlights from the dinner were the grilled black cod (a real showstopper), the eel (a personal favorite), and the various fish in the mustard sauce. Everything paired well with their interesting selection of sakes and Japanese wine. My only minor complaint is some dishes were a little heavy on the wasabi, which was often nicely grated fresh right before serving. The six-course feast is an expensive meal but it is certainly a worthwhile and unique experience and so far the best sushi I have had in St Louis.

This was one of the most amazing, intimate, and well orchestrated dining experiences I have ever had. Chef Nobu and his family welcome you as if you are old friends dining in their home. Every little detail is executed with great care and precision to provide the best sushi experience you can get anywhere close to St. Louis. We are grateful for this opportunity to enjoy a true master chef in his own element and cannot wait to return. You can tell that providing this experience is what makes Chef Nobu happy! Thank you!!

Yelp
This meal was very memorable. I went with the three-course option and it was honestly the perfect amount of food. Freshness and flavor were at full display here. Bluefin otoro was the highlight -- probably the butteriest and tastiest piece of fish I'd ever had. I was also really impressed with their use of vegetables and how flavorful each piece was. One of my only major gripes was the fish variety. Like while the striped jack and salmon were good, I didn't need three pieces of it over each of the individual courses. I feel like the addition of more cuts of fish would've allowed for more highlights in the meal. I have to give the service here its own paragraph, because it simply cannot be understated. The setting is extremely intimate and the staff makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. From all of the complimentary treats, to the sake sampling, the hospitality really did a lot to make this experience what it was. Favorite dishes: Otoro, yellowtail

Yelp
The best dining experience I have had in St. Louis. If you are wanting a one of a kind restaurant for a night out, then Nobu's is your place. The place is fairly intimate, as there are only a couple of tables set up for their two reservation times. You can't help but feel the 'hominess' of the whole restaurant as soon as you are warmly welcomed at the door. We ended up doing the four course omakase menu. I probably cannot recall any of the names of what I ate, but every bite was a hit on the taste and presentation. You can tell the fish was fresh and meticulously handled and prepared. If you are looking for omakase in STL, Nobu's needs to be at the top of the list.

Yelp
Although I consider myself a foodie, I was not aware of the existence of this restaurant. Our friends made reservations on a Friday night for the 2nd seating. Everything was stupendous. I enjoyed every single course include some of the drinks that accompanied them. Unfortunately, I can't describe each course but my photos will tell you the details. The chef's son who described the courses was engaging and informative. I would recommend their omaka

Yelp
Our multi-course set meal at Nobu's was a meditative experience on good food. With only two other dining parties at the time of our meal, the restaurant was so quiet and relaxing, and the meal was served at an unhurried pace, perfect for enjoying each thoughtfully designed course. The seafood was very fresh, and the service so patient and warm. Highly recommend this fine dining experience.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience here. Food, service, presentation and all aspects were masterfully crafted. I would absolutely come back. Quality of the food was great and the blends of flavor were well thought out. Intimate experience with the chef and his family in a close environment where you can feel like you're in the experience of making the food.

Yelp
High quality Japanese selections, friendly and superior service, warm cozy atmosphere, wonderful smiley chefs! Highly recommended to support our local omakase!

Yelp
If you are ready for a true "experience" which includes outstanding Japanese cuisine then you are ready for this version of Nobu's! It had been a couple of years since we last visited Nobu's in North County, which was always our favorite place in St. Louis for sushi. Once I found they have moved to the Loop, changed their menu and approach I was excited to visit this new version of one of our favorites. Nobu's sushi was always top notch...and the same continues. But in this version, you get an intimate dining, Japanese cuisine and food art experience all in one visit. And the family are all still as friendly, humble and approachable as ever. We sat at the bar last night and had one of the most memorable dining experiences ever. The food was beautifully prepared, perfectly explained and a delicious. We selected the 3 course omakase experience and each added an additional course. These pictures can't do the flavor and beauty of each dish justice. And the sushi / fish were all melt in your mouth delicious. The works of art they put on your plates will blow your mind in beauty and flavor. And without a doubt, Taeko & Nobu are the most gracious hosts. We had delightful conversations during our dinner about the food, Nobu and Taeko's history, our families and our history visiting their restaurants. It was a very special night, thank you Nobu and family!

Yelp
This is by far probably the best dining experience I have ever had. My partner and I booked reservations for the four course omakase a couple weeks ago and have been looking forward to this and it did not disappoint. Not only was the food wonderful, but the service was insanely good. We felt like we were the only people in the restaurant. Our waitress was so sweet, very informative, and attended to all of our needs. Another woman (I didn't catch her name) was attending to us as well. She was prompt at serving our tea and checking on us as well. We also met Chef Nobu and George who were preparing the sushi. They were so kind and even went so far to learn and remember our names and they threw in an extra piece of toro nigiri and liver from a red snapper to try. The omakase four course was also more like eight courses and I felt satisfied after the meal. We were served many dishes ranging from soup, nigiri, sashimi, maki, vegetables, and more. We ended our meal with matcha pudding (was more like a mousse) and clementines vegan vanilla bean ice cream with a side of red beans. It was delicious. The ice cream was insanely good but I wouldn't expect anything less from Clementine's! They also serve green tea from Big Heart Tea Co. so we ordered a pot. Delicious. Lastly we enjoyed hot sake and it was warm, comforting, and delicious. Can't wait to come back! You can't find this experience in many places. People dine not only for the delicious food, but the wonderful service and they succeeded in all aspects. It's no question Chef Nobu and his team value the art of sushi and providing a fantastic dining experience. Go here to be treated like royalty!

Yelp
First time trying omakase and we thought it was a wonderful experience. The location of the restaurant is on the side of the United Provisions. The restaurant itself is very cozy on the inside. The food is prepared in front of you and served in multiple rounds. Reservations are required and there are seats for 6 people at a time for a reservation block. There is street parking nearby as well as a small lot near the United Provisions, where we parked. We got the 6 course meal. In actuality, there were ~10 plus dishes of food. The size of each dish is small to moderate in size but the meal itself is quite the journey and very filling. Everything was delicious and was some of the best sushi we've had. Included, you receive a glass of wine and a small cup of sake. The menu rotates seasonally though so I am sure this may change depending on when you go. The chefs and servers were extremely nice and conversational and the whole experience was very intimate. On the whole one of the best dining experiences we've had and I would highly recommend it.

Yelp
This place was amazing. We went here for my husband's bday and we opted for the largest courses. I was worried about the parking because the loop on a Saturday night can be rough, but I found parking quickly. Restaurant itself was a little hidden, we walked right past it. When we went in, we were welcomed by a glass of sparking sake, which was yummy. This place is pretty small and our meal was around the sushi bar. All of the food that came out was yummy and well explained. Service was great. This place is a small family run business and they were very friendly and welcoming. It was a lot of food, so I would probably do a smaller course tasting next time, but was happy to do this one! My description prob doesn't do this place justice! You def need to go experience it for yourself!

Yelp
I have been a fan of Nobu's in St. Louis since their old location on Olive Blvd. The new location on Delmar Blvd. opened recently & is reservation ONLY (make sure to call ahead). For an establishment of this quality, it is to be expected that reservations are required. The ambiance of the new location is unparalleled. Everything is custom-made & has a sleek/classy feel. There is not another sushi restaurant in town that even comes close to this quality. Nobu San, the executive chef, was trained in Japan on proper techniques for preparing these courses. The food is the absolute best sushi & seafood you will find in the entire state of Missouri. Some of the seafood is imported directly from Japan. You can taste the difference in quality. Eating a meal here is a spiritual experience. It melts in your mouth & is 100% worth the price.

Yelp
I tried to write a review when I went a month and a half ago but I have no idea how to add a business to Yelp. Thank god for this place because St Louis was really lacking in the omakase scene. I was feeling really discouraged with the amount of good food choices in the city as in next to none and then I went to dinner at Nobu's and I almost cried. It's on par with the mid to lower high end level omakases in Houston and that's saying a lot from me because I haven't been kind to the cuisine in STL and it hasn't been kind to me as far as quality and GI issues. Everyone was kind and mindful during the serve. The best part was the silence and just the purity of the food that was well seasoned and treated and tasty. It's my go to place to treat myself now.

Yelp
Nobu's is SPECTACULAR! My boyfriend and I went during their soft opening period last week and we were blown away! The quality of the food was fantastic and it tasted incredible! It is no exaggeration when I say that Nobu's fish is some of the best I've ever had (extremely fresh and flavorful!). The ambiance was lovely, you could hardly believe you were on the busy street of Delmar. Also, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. We even had the pleasure of meeting the head chef himself! Overall, a fantastic experience and one we would do again!

Yelp
Nobu's presents a traditional and delicious omakase style menu. Every course was perfectly crafted, fresh and delicious! We enjoyed every bite. My dad, Joe Bonwich first called Chef Kidera the "local sushi godfather" and it is clear that still holds true today. More than 40 years of experience in his craft makes this the destination for sushi in the city, thank you for an amazing meal.

John S.

Yelp
From the initial contact (with George) through to the wonderfully secluded space it occupies the entire experience is one of peace, serenity, and that feeling of caring when you're in the presence of someone who's taken food to an art form and loves sharing it. Needless to say the actual plates, dishes, samples, and selection put in front of us was wonderful in both taste, flavor, presentation, and variety. Just a simple thank you. A wonderful evening for 4 of us, two of whom are a much younger, yet were captivated for the two hours we spent there.

Yelp
5/5 stars! We did the 4 course Omakase and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and tasty! I wish I could eat there everyday. The service was awesome and so efficient. I would totally recommend this place if you are in St Louis!

Yelp
Mind blown and unbelievable. Food was simple, delicate, curated and well thought out. It all came from a place of love, warmth and care for the experience. One of a kind in St Louis and can't wait to Go back. To the reviewer that complained about the service or attitude when they walked in without a reservation: I'm extremely skeptical that the staff here were rude in any way. I don't think I've been treated with such care and attention at any other restaurant in St. Louis, including some of the more highly rated ones, except for maybe one or two.

Yelp
The restaurant was small but very beautiful inside. The service was great. The food...10/10. The best sushi in I've had in stl so far.

Brian W.

Yelp
There is nothing I didn't like about this restaurant. I've never had sushi like this, especially the chirashi. I felt like I was part of a secret society when I walked in. Sort of like a sushi speakeasy. Service was great, and the explanations of the food provenance was uncommonly interesting. While it's not inexpensive, it's worth it. Sit at the counter if available, as it only amplifies the experience. Already thinking about my next trip there.

Peter L.

Yelp
I ate there about a month ago. It was amazing! The ambiance was simple yet elegant. Now that I'm a bit older I'm not looking for getting stuffed. I'm looking for that perfect bite. With Nobu's each small plate was one perfect bit after another. I didn't have to concern myself with figuring out what's good. I just sat down with my family and they began to explain each dish and what I should pay attention to and notice. The service was very personable and I felt like I was sitting in a family members kitchen... unfortunately none of my family members can cook like this! Lol! I will definitely be back! There's no other place like this in st louis!

Katie R.

Yelp
Nobu's is our favorite traditional omakase restaurant in St Louis. It is as good if not better than any omakase I've had in SF or NYC. The detail and consideration to the restaurant extends beyond the food - the dining room has beautiful custom furniture and the service is impeccable. Very worth the reservation!
google avatar

Derek H.

Yelp
I highly recommend Nobu's to anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere and delicious sushi. The restaurant's combination of exceptional food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance makes it a standout destination for sushi lovers everywhere. This was my first omakase experience and I look forward to going back.

Briana J.

Yelp
This is not a rating on their food but a review on their customer service. When we entered there were several tables available and immediately when entering the establishment they were super rude informing us that they only take reservations. I get that, but there is a better way to handle that and to treat potential customers. They could have told us kindly but instead they were very arrogant and acted like we were idiots for not making reservations. Thanks to rude employees I will never go to this restaurant ever again.

Carlos A B.

Yelp
A fantastic experience, truly unique in St. Louis. The space is beautiful and the food as well.

Yelp
I'm a little late in writing a review, but here we are. I have been eating at Nobu's since 2007, and my husband has been dining there even longer. We were so sad when the original location was closed and looked forward to his new venture. It seemed like the time would never come. Then, an update, with a soft opening! We booked almost immediately. To say that Nobu's has changed would be an understatement. It's almost like Nobu's has grown as a restaurant as we have as people. The interior design is beautiful and simple. The service was top-notch. The food was phenomenal. Nobu found out that my husband's favorite item from the original restaurant was the spicy tuna, so he made one just for him. Nobu's son (I can't remember his name right now) was a great host, and we had a nice chat with him. Nobu's is more upscale now, so the price is also more upscale but totally worth it for an enjoyable evening out.
