I saw some pictures and was quite impressed by the elaborate cocktails and had to come here. Their ideology is to provide an immersive drink experience and I was quite intrigued and excited to try it out.
I tried the "Devil went down to Jalisco" from their NoChe Signature menu and "Black Cucumber G&T" from their Classics reimagined section. The signature drink was delicious but I was confused by the claims they make on their website: "NoChe's cocktail board, which are partially completed table side, will allow guests to be a part of the process allowing an inside glimpse into the cool effects that go along with them.". None of our drinks involved a multi-step process. They were both prepared at the bar and served us at our table. Period.
For food, we tried the "Tuna in Curry oil", which was pretty good - bunch of olives, pickles, garlic butter, sourdough and tuna in a can - although very mild hint of the aforementioned curry oil.
The biggest shock was the bill, there is a liquor tax, sales tax and a "Employee Benefit fee". Hello!! The owners should be responsible to take care of the employee, not the patrons. As patrons, we do our part by giving an 18%-20% tip for the service which is quite generous and should be enough in my opinion. On top of that, we are not expected to pay an additional the employee benefit fee? Nope, doesn't make sense to me! This blatant exploitation of the consumer is getting too far out of hand and for this sole reason I will not be returning.
