NoChe - Review - Rittenhouse - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"What’s the opposite of “run, don’t walk”? Take your sweet time? Crawl, if you absolutely must go at all? Whatever it is, that’s the speed with which you should head to NoChe in Rittenhouse. The 2nd floor cocktail bar—backed by the Harper’s Garden and Rosy’s Taco team—has a list of $18-$23 drinks, scarce wine offerings, and unimpressive small plates like cheese boards, lamb meatballs, raw bar options, and bland conservas. Ultimately, nothing here is memorable, outside of how the low-lit space feels more like Dracula’s basement than an intimate night out. If you choose to stop by, do so while waiting for a reservation at literally any other place in the area, and get the mezcal-based Naked and Famous cocktail before heading (quickly) elsewhere." - Candis R. From college bar to mature adult drinks! Well done transition. Drink presentation on point. Drink options well thought out. Small bites menu was delicious to read but flavor expectations didnt match. I would recommend this spot to anyone who asks for a cocktail bar. Oh and the staff were professional and courteous.

Chairs are a little uncomfortable and the prices are very high. But the drinks are very well made. Interesting concepts for some of them and a few have table side flare. Gotta give them credit for the creativity. The ambiance is exactly what your want from a cocktail lounge. Dark and moody but not depressing. They need more bathrooms though. The place is too big for just 2 toilets. Haven't tried the food here but it looks fine enough.

Nice and upscale speakeasy vibe. Drinks have beautiful presentation and very unique taste. Drinks priced at $18-$22, but totally worth it. Definitely make a reservation for weekend nights! One star off is for the lighting, a little too bright for speakeasy, and the music dj played just doesn’t match the vibe of the bar. Also, the bathroom could use some improvement.

This is a great place to come and have a nice drink! I was greeted by Hulk at the front door. Unlike other front door guys, Hulk was as courteous as they come! He got me on a list and got me in to the lounge relatively quickly. The lounge itself is intimate and beautiful. The drinks were delicious and had a great presentation. Our waitress was sweet, professional and knew the menu quite well. The above was perfect. The drink prices are in line with a high-end cocktail lounges. You're not just paying for a drink, you're paying for the entire experience. Definitely a place to check out!

From the minute we walked in we regretted it. The hostess was not welcoming. She rolled her eyes at us (maybe because we had a service dog with us- not sure), but it is definitely not an appropriate way to greet guests. We had been excited to try the cocktails for months and were generally underwhelmed. We each ordered a cocktail (3 total different cocktails) and all had the same response. The food was average at best. Don’t waste your time with the fries or bacon. Skip Noche and head to the next spot.

Went to the open bar for the grand re-opening and the bartenders were attentive and a pleasure. The DJ played a good mix but the "dance floor" was a bit small especially with "VIP booth" within the area. Overall a good space.

Service was great. The place is small, but had a good crowd. There was a 40yo bday party on a Sat night when I was there. The drinks were good, and the manager is cool. I'll be back. The DJ had a good mix, and took requests too.

Google
Great cocktail bar that opened as of December 2022. Cocktails and light food are priced and made well. The atmosphere is classy with dark colors, and vintage furniture and decorations. Worth a visit as the experience is comparable to Ranstead Room but in a larger space. Kind staff.

Yelp
For a high quality cocktail in a classy setting in the heart of Philly, Noche is a great choice! I ordered this drink and it was show watching the server build it at my table: Campfire Old Fashioned - Bacon Washed Makers 46 Bourbon, Maple, Smoked Chilli Bitters, Torched Cinnamon Philadelphia goes hard with the fancy cocktails so if you're into that, then you must check this bar out. The price tag is worth the atmosphere and craft.

Yelp
I saw some pictures and was quite impressed by the elaborate cocktails and had to come here. Their ideology is to provide an immersive drink experience and I was quite intrigued and excited to try it out. I tried the "Devil went down to Jalisco" from their NoChe Signature menu and "Black Cucumber G&T" from their Classics reimagined section. The signature drink was delicious but I was confused by the claims they make on their website: "NoChe's cocktail board, which are partially completed table side, will allow guests to be a part of the process allowing an inside glimpse into the cool effects that go along with them.". None of our drinks involved a multi-step process. They were both prepared at the bar and served us at our table. Period. For food, we tried the "Tuna in Curry oil", which was pretty good - bunch of olives, pickles, garlic butter, sourdough and tuna in a can - although very mild hint of the aforementioned curry oil. The biggest shock was the bill, there is a liquor tax, sales tax and a "Employee Benefit fee". Hello!! The owners should be responsible to take care of the employee, not the patrons. As patrons, we do our part by giving an 18%-20% tip for the service which is quite generous and should be enough in my opinion. On top of that, we are not expected to pay an additional the employee benefit fee? Nope, doesn't make sense to me! This blatant exploitation of the consumer is getting too far out of hand and for this sole reason I will not be returning.

Yelp
Tasty cocktails but a bit over the top. They are trying to give off high brow establishment in a footprint that doesn't work. The aesthetics and vibe are off, and the music and velvet couches seem forced. They also get creative with dry ice and smoke, which is nice, but when done at the table by the staff, it is a bit "clunky". The Padrino and Sip Happens are both very very good flavor-wise. Sip Happens was my favorite of the two as a tequila based espresso martini. Exceptionally high prices at $21-22 cocktails and $12-20 beers

Yelp
WARNING!!!! I came to this establishment on Friday, January 26th, as I had made a reservation for after dinner drinks via Resy. After going up the stairs, was informed by the server as as of this date, they had become a low end sports bar and were no longer offering the craft cocktails advertised on their website. Also, it was obvious that all traces of the previous high end cocktail establishment had been removed. To give you an idea of how bad things were, the only two beers listed on the menu were Bud and Bud light. The server specifically stated that no cocktails were offered. Therefore we just walked out and I informed Resy of the situation. Obviously the previous owners have vacated this business.

Yelp
Stopped in for one quick drink. It is a beautiful bar! My friend ordered the octopus and it was ok. My drink, the Equinox, was delicious. This bar is a bit expensive but if you love cocktails and true mixologists, this is a place for you!

Yelp
This might be one of my favorite new spots. The vibe is just great inside from the music to the bartenders. My friend and I walked right in without a reservation and got seats at the bar for a couple of drinks. Some of the drinks come with a great presentation that I took videos but unfortunately can't upload

Yelp
Perfect end to the week calls for a night of libations and liberations ! Noche Philly is the perfect addition to the ever evolving food and beverage scene in downtown Philly. Noche Philly gives you the vibe of an exclusive speakeasy and high end bar n' bites spot. In all honesty I miss some of the OGs in the city like Jamonera. But Noche is much more and then some! I would definitely recommend making reservations, we arrived on time and were seated swiftly, in an elegant, low light cocktail lounge adorned with chandeliers and velvet chairs, Carly our server was super detailed and explained the menu to us. We decided to take her recommendations and I am glad we did. For food we ordered the fried monchego cheese, crispy potatoes, Gambas A la Pancha and the lamb meatballs. The food was definitely up to the standards. It's definitely a little pricey, but the effort that's put into making each drink is worth every penny. I am bringing all my out of town bougie buddies here!

Yelp
Our second time here for wedding anniversary now. We had padrino, old fashioned, and the partridge. You want to get padrino! So good! Presentation of drinks is great--worth the price. Also, our server Carly was so sweet and presented us with a champagne toast for our anniversary! We definitely were pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
Very friendly waitstaff was the highlight at noche! Not sure if this in typical, but drinks were half off for our 6:30 Rez and they gave us champagne on the house to celebrate! We tried most of the menu and all the bites were pretty good, but our favorite were the pictures charcuterie board, lamb meatballs, and chorizo arancini. Would be a great place for a first date--ambiance is dark and cozy. Note: You do need to go up a flight of stairs to enter the restaurant.

Yelp
Wow, this place is NOTHING like the previous version of NoChe. It's more like a trashy club than an upscale cocktail bar now. Attended the "grand re-opening" on 2/9. We arrived before the official 8pm start time and ordered drinks. Paid $15 for small, poorly-made cocktails in plastic cups. They weren't even measured into the cups correctly because one was hilariously short and the other was just pitifully short. I understand that they were doing an open bar later in the evening, but for those paying full price prior to the official start time, they should have provided proper glassware. Typical DJ was playing typical club music. Bartenders were surly and made the already strange experience even more awkward. Five stars to the bar back (blond guy) who was scrambling the whole night to collect everyone's plastic garbage. I'd rather go next door to Drinker's if I want a dive bar experience

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after having dinner at Mixto for my friend's birthday. It was reservation only, but we managed to get in. It was very lowkey, cute, and gave speakeasy vibes. I would definitely return for a date night or night cap. It is VERY lowkey with dim lights & intimate. The jazz music was the perfect addition. We didn't try the food, but will next time.

Yelp
Went to Noches grand opening; vibes were there and drinks were great. Loved the service and bartenders were moving fast. Never waited more than couple mins to be served. Definitely will be going back.

Yelp
The ambience here is alright but nothing special. The service is sufficient and pleasant enough. Came here on a slow Tuesday evening, had the cauliflower which was good. The drinks left much to be desired. This bar seems to be trying establishing itself as a an elegant cocktail bar, but not much on the menu is impressive for the high-end pricing. A cocktail with a mid-tier spirit is $22, attempting to be creative but missing the mark. We ordered a $19 cocktail and it was not strained to take out ice chips, it also was extremely basic/lacked flavor and any "high-end" garnish or presentation. Apparently it was half off cocktail night as well, which we found out upon receiving our receipt. That would have been nice to know prior to ordering and could have added to the experience. Would never return, due to pricing compared to experience. If you're trying to impress a date with how much you're willing to spend on a mediocre cocktail, this is probably the place for you.

Yelp
We found this place using their reservation service and booked for tonight to celebrate being 30 days out from our wedding. We were not contacted to say they are closed. If you are closed take yourself off ALL the reservation apps. Don't depend on your customers to check ever single site to see you are closed. VERY disappointed that not a single person contacted to tell us you were closed. One bad experience is all it takes. Will not return even when you "reopen"

Yelp
Good variety of drinks. Friendly staff, prices are on the higher side. Ample seating available
