Really like this spot! I love chatting about wine and the staff seems to want to help me find bottles I like. Buying wine here tends to be the same price as Whole Foods/other “nice” shops, but the staff here always helps me find bottles I’ll enjoy for equal or less price. I usually end up leaving with more bottles and am happier with each. Thanks!

Great customer service! They helped me pick a couple of wines for a casual lunch as I don’t know much about wines. They have a good selection of beers as well. Parking was hard to find around the place. I would go back if I am in the area.

I have not visited to Noe Valley Wine in person, just online. Great selection (quality) and good prices. I ordered a rather rare bottle for shipment to another state. The date of my receiving it was a factor, and,under normal procedure it was ify. Anton went out of his way to go to the Fedex location to expedite it, he didn't have to do that. I got what I wanted for a very good price and much sooner than I could have expected it. Also, ordering and communications with the store have been seamless and frictionless. Thank you!

Since moving to SF and living about halfway between the Castro and Noe, we've had generally good experience at several of the stores but find ourselves most often going to Noe Valley Wine and Spirits. A nice selection of both new and old world wines as well as spirits. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.

You might spend a few more dollars than you would at a big box store, but you can get solid advice and a range of prices that won't break the bank (unless you want to).

I am a little biased because I know the guy and he always brings such different wines when he comes for dinner. Not only does he surprise me every time with a wine that I always find serious (and not for the price of gold), he is knowledgeable and interested the real way. I visited the store a few times - and it's a good drive from my house - and the selection was an eye opener. Passion is everything.

Amazing! Best selection of wine and spirits from all over the world. Very specialized in fine wines. I even found some of my favorite Grüner Veltliner there. Great costumer service and great prices.

The owner was a complete condescending asshole unable to effectively communicate with me as a customer. It's sad that you own a business and are unable to listen to what could have been a repeat customer who would have gladly referred friends. You don't need to tell me what you own, show me you're a boss! Hope your store fails just as you have at keeping a customer satisfied! I'll be sure to spread the word ..you and your store suck. Fantastic collection of wine as well as whiskey. The team here is very knowledgeable and helped me pick up the perfect Pinot Noir. The store itself is super cute and conveniently located in the heart of Noe Valley. If you're looking for a lovely bottle of wine to gift or to take to a party I'd really recommend to come try this store out as their recommendations are spot on!

Really a neighborhood gem. A resource for people who want to buy, taste, or experience wines. Excellent variety. We also went here for advice on wines for our wedding. We called ahead (of course) and sent our catering menu. It really felt like we were in good hands with Don. He had suggestions, and helped us decide given our limited price options. It was a pleasure. This is the kind of place you can walk into, tell them the kinds of flavors you're looking for, and they will set you up. You may try wines you'd never normally try, but what a pleasure.

I live on the other side of town, but was passing through Noe Valley and had the intention of getting my husband something nice for Father's Day from a small business. Thank you kind sir for the most welcoming service and the recommendations! Such a charming store that I'd love to come back to and support again in the future. I grew up in this city and it's easy to get jaded by the some of the negativity that comes with the changes here. It felt reassuring and refreshing to encounter unpretentious and friendly strangers. Currently experiencing the usual great service at Noe Valley Wine & Spirits during the Coronavirus lockdown. I ordered online, and picked up the next day -- fast, clean, friendly service. The web site is easy to search and navigate and has good descriptions of the wines I was looking for. Love this place, and the only wine store I visit.

I stopped by their "walk up sommelier" counter during the Covid lockdown. Don nailed it with a couple great Sauvignon Blancs. Definitely recommend this shop if your looking for friendly knowledgeable people to help offer suggestions.

Man, do I love wine! And I'm not snobby about it. If you love "Two Buck Chuck" or "1992 Screaming Eagle Cab Sauvignon" - I'd say go for what makes you happy. Life is too short to be snobby. NVWS is definitely not snobby. Those guys are on it (and I think they're all bald), I'm bald too! Great service, casual atmosphere, great knowledge without attitude and great music! They even offer tastings every Saturdays. Dog and stroller friendly (they are in the land of strollers - Noe Valley). Wait, you don't drink wine but you do partake in whiskey? They got that too! All kinds of spirits & beers. Just go and see for yourself, I promise you won't be displeased. My only gripe about that place was that they didn't have a fireplace, flatscreen and my La-Z-Boy chair. If the end of world comes, I'm breaking into Noe Valley Wine & Spirits...

These guys are AWESOME. I have been buying and online ordering from them since well before the pandemic but it has certainly been more since COVID. They're recommendations have never failed me. They are either delicious or really delicious. They are very nice and friendly and knowledgeable. They've never let me down.

Amazing customer service and great local wine shop!! They've got a good wine collection and selection in all price ranges. Their craft selected beers are stellar! I bought my aunt and uncle libations (champagne and beers for NYE) to ship to their home. It was such an easy, wonderful and smooth experience. Thank you guys! Not only is wine inventory, suggestions on that inventory and the service excellent at Noe Valley Wine & Spirits but if there is something they can get to that they don't carry... maybe just maybe they can help you out. Don has gone over and beyond trying to make things happen, cheers to you and your store and its connections. Gosh I love this place! They have such a large wine selection with a huge price range from all over the world. Clean, well organized & cute shop. They make good use of their space! They've got great little witty signs describing most of their wines. Most of the people who work there are sommeliers & very helpful. They almost always carry a champagne for under $30!! That's right-- an actual champagne! In addition to wine, they also carry a small selection of beer & liqueur. Some wines are refrigerated as well! On Saturdays they almost always have a wine tasting event for a small selection of wines.

My boyfriend and I adore this place. Whenever I come in, someone is available to help me, and damn! I always get excellent recommendations from these guys! Honestly, that's one of the main things that keeps me coming back. I enjoy wine (duh) but lack the vocabulary to describe it. I can just tell these guys what I typically drink or what I'm cooking for dinner and BAM! They know exactly the bottle to recommend. Because they're so dang good, it has motivated me to improve my wine vocabulary so I can more accurately describe what I like. This place is a gem. Not only will you get a quality recommendation, but you'll be supporting a local business by shopping here. Oh, and check out their tastings, too!

I feel so lucky to have NVWS in my neighborhood. They have a great selection, good prices and fantastic people. Don has been exceptionally helpful helping me pick wines for a series of dinners I've recently started hosting. My goal is to bring people together around gourmet, wine-paired meals for community conversation so there is a challenge when it comes to getting great wine to keep the level of quality high and keeping it affordable so that all are able to join. Every time Don's helped me select wines, I've gotten positive feedback on the taste and the pairing. I'm eager to continue to work with him and the team to bring awesome selections to the table.

Small quaint wine shop, but they seem to carry a very interesting selection of wines and liquors (whiskeys especially). Their wine selection is mostly international based, which is really refreshing to me since sometimes I just want to find a non-Californian wine or grape varietal. The people working there seemed really knowledgable, however I did not really ask many questions since I was looking for a very specific bottle. And although a small shop, literally 3 different people jumped at me within 5 minutes and asked me if I needed help - such service! Noe Valley is pretty far from where I live, but I would definitely consider coming back to this location specifically for it's selection and service. It seems like a good place to explore new wines and get decent recommendations, too. Good range of inexpensive to expensive wines... not pretentious at all! Tip: They do tastings for $10 there, and their online wine inventory seems fairly accurate.

"$2 buck chuck for $15" As a 9 year NV Resident, I was hoping to find a place to find an expanded choice, good finds, and spend my money locally. Failure! I came in and spent a few minutes talking about the wine styles I prefer. Juicy fully bodies jammy wines, about $15 or less for the average one glass a night enjoyment. I was given three choices, one was from a new source the salesperson was promoting from Portugal. I had the wine two nights later. Immediately my housemate thought it tasted off. I thought, young, maybe it will open up. Half an hour later it still tasted overly oxygenated or tanic. Yes, slightly sweet but utterly gross. Like a $2 buck chuck from Trader Joe's. I brought over half the bottle back, same person who sold it to me tasted it and said it was "young, but not faulted". She asked if I wanted another bottle, I said yes and chose a varietal they had carried for a while and had a write-up for, hoping it was a surer bet. Then at the counter she said I got 10% off. Wow! Thank you, but no thank you. I'll take my business elsewhere. And write a Yelp review. Thanks for nothing but poor advice, bad product, and no customer service.

This is what a local wine shop is supposed to be like. -- Knowledgeable staff: At least two of the folks who work there are trained sommeliers. Oh, and they are really nice too! -- Interesting selection: If you want an interesting gift bottle of something that you won't see in Safeway, they have it. They also put on the shelf many hard to find bourbon's and rye's, that other places leave in the back room for friends and family. -- Chilled beverages: The guys up the street have a puny fridge section. If you're looking for beer that's not room temp or a nice selection of wines ready to drink, come here. Enjoy. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Thank Gawd this location has filled. It has been vacant for over a year now. I missed my local wine store which is only about 200 feet from my front door. Welcome to the hood. You will see a lot of me. They have a small but good selection of beer, wine and liquor. Basically it is a little something for anyone. I was very happy to meet and talk to the manager and others associated with the store. They were very friendly and from the looks of it so happy to finally be open for business. The first 250 visitors get %10 off. BAM! I just scored a bottle of Lacuna Red.. I can't wait to try it tonight with crab cakes.

Stopped by for the first time yesterday. Would occasionally frequent the previous place when Waleed was the proprietor back ten years ago. Had the overhead door sign with the pithy statements... Friendly service - mid afternoon and just me and Don (Tom?) i think it was. I had some questions about a couple of his Gin selections and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing looks competitive with Plumpjack up the street and it's a bright airy space with room to move. I hope they do well. Will definitely try and support it. Much to my Doctor's chagrin and despair.

When a customer walks in asking about wines you no longer carry, 1. Don't rag on the customer's choice. 2. Ask meaningful questions that may explain the customer's choice and help you sell a similar line of wines. 3. Don't be smug.

I live in the neighborhood and it is a delight to shop here. A great selection of wines and a nice selection of spirits as well. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable always eager to help you select what you are looking for, even if you are unsure what is right for the occasion.

Yay! The shop is open... Many of us who know and Rebecca Rapaszky from her previous gigs have been waiting in anticipation for the shop's opening :) She's so knowledgeable about wine and really fantastic at helping match wines to her client's palates and interests - and her depth and breadth of wine knowledge is refreshing. I've learned so much from conversations at tastings with Rebecca and it keeps helping me find regions, producers and wines that I adore. A small group of us came up from the peninsula last night and had great time meeting many of the staff and enjoying the low-key, very nice, casual vibe at the shop. The tasting was fun and as I've been watching the postings on the various tastings they've started to do - it's clear that this is going to be a wine shop to follow! And if you are in the neighborhood - there is no excuse - you must pop in to check it out. They are just ramping up and it's already great fun with some awesome wines - both serious and super fun/interesting. I am excited to have left with two Sicilian wines that will be perfect for a dinner I'm hosting and because Rebecca knows my palate pretty well, I'm confident they are going to be delicious. After the tasting we had dinner a few blocks away at Contigo! It was a perfect way to end the evening. Just do their tasting menu - it rocked.

Sometimes I like to pretend to be fancy. Those times I drink whiskey. Problem is, I don't really know much about whiskey. So I come in here and I have a conversation with the guy in the giants hat who kind of reminds me of a less sketchy, less traitorous Brian Wilson and I get to learn a little about being a fancy whiskey drinker and walk out with really good booze. Solid place with straightforward advice and little attitude.

I can give NVWM a solid rating and recommendation as a neighborhood wine store. They have plenty of wines you could be proud to serve at any given meal, and offer them at reasonable prices. The staff was very attentive. If you have a bit of a cellar, though, you may be a little disappointed. I was looking for Brunellos, and there was only one. Tip - they have the Luli '11 chardonnay in stock - the 09 and 10 were wonderful, so looking forward to next and next.

Increasing my rating to 5 stars, mainly due to the service and staff who are fantastic. Love their range of affordable spanish wines and have some great italian reds that I am steadily working my way through. Another great addition to local Noe Valley stores, along with Drewes Meats, Church Produce, Noe Valley Bakery and the 24th Street Cheese shop. Use them or lose them!!

These guys are amazing. Don, or any of the ladies are not only happy to help you, they are excited about it. They remember week to week what I ordered last, and they want to know what I thought about their suggestions (BTW, they have yet to steer me wrong, and I am PICKY). The wines are from all over the planet, and they make sure to have very unique offerings at a wide range of prices. This is definitely the place to buy your wine or spirits. I can't recommend them enough.

10/10 We live in Noe and this is our go-to spot for wine, spirits, and an eclectic array of ciders! If you go into this shop and tell them what you're cooking for dinner and your price range they will pick out the most perfect wine! Go try!

If you're Safeway, you have plenty of room for good and not so good wines right next to each other. When you're a small store like Noe Valley Wine, they all have to be good. I'm particularly impressed with their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay selections from both Oregon and California. They seem to get wine that is hard to find elsewhere.

I go to therapy on the same block and I often stop in after. What's better than buying a classy bottle of booze after processing your daddy issues for an hour??!?! Not much. I've gotten some Old Tom Gin and Sloe Gin here, as well as Gum Syrup with which to make old school cocktails. The selection is fun but they've been missing things I was looking for like Plymouth Gin and gluten free beer. But, for a small neighborhood shop it's definitely nicely stocked. Minus 1 star for the sales woman who ignored and then snobbed me - maybe she didn't like the way I was dressed? I'll add a star back if I get better service the next few visits.

Won't let you return unopened bottles of wine. Pretty lousy business practice and quite non-standard from my experience. Thankfully there are plenty of other wine shops in the area.

Went in looking for a specific wine as a gift. They didn't have it but were happy to recommend a few places that might. They have a small but respectable Japanese whisky selection. They recommended one I've never had and it's delicious. Always happy to patronage places that care about their product and their customers.

The weekly wine tastings here are fantastic. It's a great way to both learn about wine and to try bottles before you buy them. The staff is knowledgeable and more than happy to talk you through what's being served. They even did an impromptu tasting when I happened to walk in while they were evaluating some wines for distribution. More surprising is that the prices are low. Not K&L low, but surprisingly close. It's not clear how they pull that off.

Very helpful and friendly staff, great selection and very fair pricing. Came in with an idea and left with what turned out to be exactly what I was looking for after some very informed recommendations from the owner. I'll be back soon!

Don, the owner, is not only incredible knowledgeable about his wines, but is a great teacher. Noe Valley Wine Merchant is the best place to learn about and buy wine in the Bay Area.

This place is awesome, really happy to have it in Noe. Great (and expanding) selection, super friendly and helpful staff, and interesting tastings. This has become our go-to spot for picking up good booze for gifts, parties, etc. ("etc." means "consuming on our couch").

Great little place that has all the wine I desire. A lot of European wine (France, Italy or Spain) and for $10-15 they will get you a great bottle already. Staff is really knowledgeable and likes to help you out picking the right wine for the right occasion.

Really great selection of wines, super helpful staff, and very convenient (especially if you take the J...the 24th and Church stop is right at the doorstep!). Weekend tastings are always interesting - sometimes you'll find something you wouldn't have purchased otherwise. Can get a good bottle of wine for $15 or $50 - whatever it is you're looking for, they generally have something good. Best yet - if you don't know what it is you want, they're more than willing to help you find something new, good, and in your price range!
