Noelani's Island Grill

We had a good experience at Noelani’s Island Grill in San Carlos. We ordered the keiki katsu with Spam fried rice, shaka chicken, and the Hawaiian short ribs. The portions were GENEROUS and the flavors were solid, especially the Spam fried rice and the chicken. We also appreciated the heated outdoor seating, which was comfortable even in January. The only downside was parking, which was a bit difficult. Overall, a nice spot for Hawaiian comfort food and we’d be happy to come back.

Great food, great service and great music 🎵🎶 on the weekends. So far we've had the chicken katsu, coconut shrimp, Kahlua tacos, sliders, pineapple upside down cake and pork belly and pineapple have all been excellent. The food is truly fabulous and it is so fun when Rick is playing music. Right now they are really festive for the upcoming holidays so you'll see Santa in flip flops - Aloha style! Stop in or order out, you certainly won't be disappointed. Mahalo y'all and Aloha 🙏🏽 If you have a larger group, ask about the back room - great space for parties and celebrations. Any size group is welcome too.

Awesome Hawaiian place! I got the Shaka Chicken, which was delicious -- tender, juicy, and the perfect combination of savory and sweet. Wife got the fish tacos, which she really enjoyed. The atmosphere is inviting and very Hawaiian. Multiple big screen TVs if you want to catch the game, and a full bar. There's nice patio dining as well. Lots of street parking nearby. We'll be back!

We've been here many times! The food and service is very good! We've had the Hawaiian short ribs, Shaka chicken, Ahi shoyu poke bowl, Kalua pig & cabbage, taro chips, fries, malasadas, pancakes. The bar drinks are excellent as well. We usually go on the weekends when Rick is performing with live Hawaiian and contemporary music too! He performs every other weekend. Rick is ohana to my wife and I. Update: Recently, we went to have lunch and sat at the bar. Noelani was behind the bar, so we were able to talk story with her and she makes really good drinks! We had a Mai Tai and Expresso martini. To eat, we had the coconut battered prawns, which are really craveable, Kalua pig quesadilla and Ahi shoyu poke bowl, which we really like. Recently sat at the bar and had Kalua pork tacos, and they were really good! By the way, the entire staff is really nice and hard working!

We came here to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday and requested to be seated outside. The atmosphere was enjoyable, the food was tasty, and this was actually my second visit. Unfortunately, when I reviewed the receipt after leaving, I noticed that we were incorrectly charged an automatic 18% “6+ people service fee” despite only having four in our party. On top of that, we left an additional 20% tip, not realizing the service fee had already been added: something the server never disclosed. I can’t say for sure why this happened, but it felt intentional, especially since we had ordered a lot of food. It’s hard to ignore the thought that we may have been profiled as Pacific Islanders who wouldn’t notice or question the charges. Whatever the reason, it left us feeling taken advantage of. We had been looking forward to becoming regulars after a positive experience, but sadly this incident changed our minds. Small businesses rely on trust and honesty, and practices like this make it hard for customers to want to return.

First time here! Kahlua pork was excellent both tacos and the bowl with cabbage which is my go to island dish! The service was great, place is super clean even the bathrooms. Nice size bar to watch the Giant's! Outdoor seating looked comfy. We sat inside which is our preference and open atmosphere created that island charm. Will be back to try the Shaka chicken and dessert! Oh and another cocktail =)

Try the numerous amount of dishes over here with a party. All the food was very homemade and flavor full with a bit of fusion to the traditional dish. Service felt very direct and not exactly welcoming but professional. Atmosphere and decor definitely felt like you were in the islands.

Every time I want to feel like I'm in Hawaii, I go to Noelani's. They have Hawaiian music quietly playing in the background and when the weather is nice, the french doors open up to let the breeze flow in. Both the lanai in the front and back are must do's. Food is amazing. They use Mochiko flour on some items so you can have breaded gluten-free chicken...like Shaka Chicken which is to die-for. Love their spam musubi, tsunami fries, and I especially love their cocktails. My daughter introduced this place to me several years ago: celebrated her 18th bday here, catered her graduation party, and ate here with her many times (B,L,D). The owner and staff are very freindly. You can tell they enjoy working here and the top-notch service level shows!

It's nice to support local business which I think is owned by a woman of color.

I do event planning and needed to cater food for about 50 people, so I chose Noelani's Island Grill based purely on Yelp reviews, even though I had never been here before. It was definitely a risk, but one that paid off. I love Hawaiian food and have been to Hawaii many times, so my expectations were pretty high. For catering, I ordered the guava steak, Shaka chicken, BBQ short ribs, sautéed veggies, spam fried rice, Thai noodle salad, and macaroni potato salad. I also ordered other Hawaiian items like musubi, poke, and garlic shrimp from places I already love, but the food from Noelani's Island Grill absolutely held its own. The food was delicious, and I had so many people come up to me asking where it was from. The Shaka chicken was a big hit. A lot of people mentioned how flavorful it was and were surprised that it stayed crispy even after being set up for catering. Another standout was the guava steak. One guest loved that it was cooked rare, and since the food was kept in chafing dishes, some pieces ended up more medium, which worked out nicely so people could choose their preferred doneness. The short ribs were also very good with great flavor and tender meat that wasn't chewy, which says a lot about the quality. A few pieces were a bit fatty, but overall they were still well received. I heard from multiple people that the macaroni potato salad was the best potato salad they've ever had. Personally, I really enjoyed the Thai noodle salad since I'm a fan of peanut-style noodles, and I honestly wish there had been more because it was popular as well. Since this was catered, we had the food delivered. The delivery guy arrived early, double checked that everything was there, and also provided utensils along with cards listing each dish and its ingredients, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend this place for catering and will definitely be using them again in the future.

The first thing you notice about Noelani is the nice outdoor seating. Then you notice the friendly staff. Then you notice that Happy Hour includes Saturday! Street parking, but not a terribly busy street around 3pm on Saturday. As for the food, not as authentic Hawaiian and you'd expect. The inside decor brings a bit of island feel, but the food falls a short of authentic island food. For example, the lunch plate has potato salad and cole slaw as opposed to mac salad? The burger was decent, expect the bun felt cold to the touch when it was brought out--making me think that it was pulled from the fridge and just slapped together. The pineapple pork belly was okay, a bit too saucy for my liking. That said, I make these comments as someone who has been to Hawaii multiple times over the recent few year and married someone who spent many years growing up on the islands. While the food itself strays from authentic Hawaiian, maybe to cater more to state-side tastes (you'd get more authentic Hawaiian from Ono's or L&L), the service brings a bit of authentic and familiar ohana-ness.

Found myself parked at Noelani's bar sipping Mai Tais like I was on island time, except my wallet didn't feel like it just took a vacation to Maui. Most cocktails hover around $13 - practically a public service in San Carlos, where you usually need a small loan for a decent drink. They've nailed the classic Hawaiian and tropical cocktail menu. Little umbrellas, lot of flavor, zero regrets. The live Hawaiian music on weekends is a great touch. Someone's 50th birthday party was raging in the back, and honestly? Not a bad idea. Hawaiian shirts and all. Now I need to find a young one turning fifty and convince them to celebrate it here and invite me. Haven't tried the food yet, but if it's anything like their cocktails, I'm about to become a regular. In the midst of all of these Hawaii reviews I've been writing (with plenty more to come), I couldn't help but miss that island life more than I always do. As such, it was quite fortuitous that I've ended up at Noelani's twice in the time since getting back. Even though coming here could ever come close to substituting for the real thing, I'll take whatever i can get! Not to mention the fact that it gave me the chance to scratch off another place on my list of bookmarks! Before we even sat down and got settled in, I was already a fan of the vibe of this place. Between the live music and their wealth of outdoor seating both in front and on their back patio (awesome on those warm San Carlos nights), this is a rather cozy sort of spot. As for their menu, it's surprisingly extensive. Although some dishes do overlap (kahlua pork plates/bowls, for example), it still has a wide variety of apps, plate lunches, and bowls to choose from, like musubi, kalua pork, beef short ribs, loco moco, saimin, teriyaki chicken, Zippy's chili (on occasion), and more. Plus, they also have a (weekend?) brunch menu that features a solid mix of American and Hawaiian offerings! -- SPAM MUSUBI - Nori Wrapped around White Rice, Spam, and Furikake...$13 Ehh...this was fine. While I do wish the Spam had been cut into larger pieces, they were still browned nicely and lightly slathered with sauce. Plus, the rice wasn't overcooked either, which is always appreciated. -- KALUA PIG QUESADILLA - Flour Tortilla with Slow Roasted Kalua Pig and Cheddar-Jack Cheese Blend Served with Sour Cream, Guacamole, and Pineapple Salsa...$18 Kind of unique, kind of not...but still pretty good! The Kahlua Pork, In this case (see below), was much more successful - it was juicy, there was a good amount of it, and it was well complemented by all of the cheese. -- NOELANI'S "MIX PLATE" with Shaka Chicken, Hawaiian Short Ribs, and Kalua Pig & Cabbage with White Rice and Potato-Macaroni Salad...$29 Given how many things I wanted to try, this was perfect! Of the three, the Shaka Chicken was my favorite - very crispy and flavorful. Sadly, the Kalua Pork underwhelmed (kind of bland, light on meat), but the Short Ribs were decent (a bit dry, but I liked the sauce). -- LILIKOI CREAM CHEESE STUFFED "FRENCH TOAST" - Panko Breaded Sliced Sweet Bread, Passionfruit Cream Cheese, Fresh Fruit, and Whipped Cream...$15 Honestly, this was just as interesting as it sounded, but also a bit much in the end. I liked that the lilikoi flavor was quite strong, and there was just enough sweetness to balance it out. However, all of that cream cheese got be a little heavy/rich. -- HAWAIIAN SHORT RIB PLATE PLUNCH with White Rice, Mac-Potato Salad, and Kimchi...$30 Even though part of me initially wished we had opted to try something new, I'm glad we got this. Not only was the sauce just as good, but the short ribs were a lot juicier and had a nice char. Their mac-potato salad was tasty as well, but I wish we subbed in their Spam Fried Rice. Along with the food, it should be noted that Noelani's cocktail menu is pretty solid as well. Since I haven't tried any of them, I can't speak to how they taste, but their collection of cocktails, margaritas, and other specialty drinks is impressive. Which, along with their lounge seating, also makes Noelani's a terrific spot to spend a lazy sort of afternoon or evening. Of course, it doesn't hurt that they have an appealing happy hour menu, too. So, despite how coming here will never invoke the same level of joy I get when I'm in Hawaii, it's nice to know there's a place like Noelani's around that can at least get me a little closer, as well as a potential fix of Zippy's chili!

I wish they would get rid of that ugly green sauce. My order had it as well as my friends and although the food was okay we were actually repulsed by the color lol.

I stopped by for dinner on a weekday evening. The place was not full. Shaka chicken plate was my favorite item here by a huge margin. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. Side salad was excelent. Island slliders was my next favorite. Chicken katsu was fried crisp. Kahlua pig and spam was flavorful. Loco Moco was good. It was slightly low on flavor compared to the other items.

What is not to like about a Hawaiian restaurant? First, the staff is super kind, always going above and beyond. Second, the food and drinks are superb. Just like typical Hawaiian fare, the portions are very generous. The full service bar is a plus as well as the extensive menu of island cocktails. Third, the ambiance is spacious and inviting. There decor is just what you would expect. It feels like you're temporarily transported to Hawaii. Lots of indoor, outdoor and patio seating as well as at the bar. Parking is easy to find. The location is bordering a residential neighborhood. Aloha!

After take out. 8 "pieces" of spam musubi aka 2 actual size cut up into 4 for $15. Not worth it since it wasn't spectacular. Fried rice was good. Overall if youre wanting Hawaiian food then this could satisfy but other than that, nothing amazing. Good local hang out place though.

I have been here and eaten inside twice before but I came yesterday for a takeout order and my goodness!!! For the price, the food is just okay to me. It's definitely better than L&L, but my husband and I got 2 meals, a POG juice, and a dessert and it was $77 ouch. When my husband picked it up, the juice wasn't even filled up all the way so he kindly asked for more. They were nice enough to fill it for us. Forgot to take a pic because we were starving!

I have been here a few times and tried different things. Each time does not disappoint! The staff are very nice and welcoming. Always able to accommodate where they can. The live music is a great addition to the typical restaurant experience and makes for a casual and easy dining experience. The overall feel of the restaurant is as if you've been there plenty of times to feel comfortable. The food is great, I recently had the Shaka chicken, which made my whole table take a picture, probably because of the green sauce on it. It was great and I ate the whole plate. The Spicy shrimp plate is a favorite of whoever I bring to the restaurant. I've had the poke bowls before and it could have more fish but that's always my feedback since I'm used to Hawaiian poke bowls. Love coming to this place for the great food and easy atmosphere

This is a MUST VISIT place for good Hawaiian food and drinks! My family and I ventured here after learning about the restaurant from a YouTube video. They have a vast array of appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts. *We had the Shaka Chicken which had a nice crispy exterior from the breading. The chicken was soft, juicy, and had nice flavors all around. *We also ordered the Guava Steak, which was nicely cooked, with sweet and savory all around. *The Loco Moco was a good sized entree as well. The flavors were tasty. *The Hurricane Fries were delicious with the sauce sautéed throughout. You tasted both sweet and saltiness, with a nice crisp with every bite. The furukake seasoning was a nice addition of flavor. Service was excellent! Our server, Lei (sorry for any misspelling) was so hospitable and friendly. She checked on us frequently, made sure we had everything we needed for every meal, including napkins and extra plates. As far as ambiance, the place has such a nice island vibe. It's clean, spacious, has nice indoor and outdoor seating, and just reminds us of being on the islands. I highly recommend Noelani's Island Grill! We're so happy to have found the restaurant and look forward to more visits to come!

First time at Noelani's Island Grill was on Friday, March 21, 2025, when Wendell flew in from Redondo Beach and the boys and I took him out to dinner here for a surprise birthday dinner. Noelani's doesn't have a private lot for parking, but we immediately found a spot on the street just a few feet away from the restaurant. Indoor, patio, and bar seating are offered here. We arrived shortly before 8 PM and were seated immediately inside the main dining room. Kauai native Rick Rasay was performing that night. His music added to the aloha air. Wish that he played longer than he did, though. We probably caught the last half hour of is set. The venue appeared clean and well kept on the night of our visit. Below are some of what we ordered: SPAM MUSUBI ($13) - Very good. These Hawaiian sushi-like snacks were very soft and tasty, making for such good PUPUS that we ordered a second plate to share (V finished his order so quickly that no one got to taste one from the first serving). "LUMPIA" (chicken $13) - A decent version of the popular Filipino egg rolls. FRESH SPRING ROLLS ($10) - Not bad. I preferred the Peanut Dipping sauce over the Sweet Chili version. PISTACHIO-ESPRESSO MARTINI ($13) - Both Wendell and I ordered this creamy cocktail. We both enjoyed it, but I did wish that the pistachio flavour came through more. HURRICANE FRIES ($12) - Z loved these uniquely flavoured french fries. MISO YAKI SALMON ($35) - Good, but nothing super special. A bit overpriced. CHICKEN KATSU BOWL ($18) with Substitute of Spam Fried Rice ($3) - Both of the boys ordered this HOT BOWL for their meals and found it to be yummy for their tummies. MALASADAS ($7) with Vanilla Heavenly Ice Cream ($3) - We weren't given the DESSERT Menu nor were we asked if we wanted to order any after dinner sweets. Instead, our waitress came out with a complimentary plate of malasadas and a side of vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and candles (no sparkler, unfortunately) for Wendell to blow and make a birthday wish. The birthday boy said, "Those malasadas were good." Service was very friendly and warm. Noelani, herself, was also very responsive to my email inquiry prior to our visit. We definitely felt the aloha at Noelani's Island Grill.

6/7/2025 Noelani's Island Grill 1037 Laurel St San Carlos, CA 94070 We went there for a family pre-wedding event with about 18 persons on a June Saturday evening. It's in DT San Carlos with hard to find street parking if you hit high times. It's popular and does have a Hawaiian ambiance. The interior has table and chair, bar stool table and bar seating. If you like Hawaiian style, they are authentic. I liked the Kalua pork sliders and quesadillas, the spicy Lomi Lomi salmon could have been more plentiful, the teriyaki short ribs were a little chewy and could have had more fat, the chicken karaage was just okay, the shrimp and greens didn't have many and the chili edamame was very good. The dishes weren't super salty which some places are. For desert the ice cream cake vanilla/coffee combo was on a concrete Oreo crust, just okay and needs more work. I think the live music was way too loud to have any good conversation and I would avoid for that. Otherwise a repeatable Hawaiian style place if in the area.

If you're looking to feed on some Hawaiian eats and Aloha atmosphere this is the place to visit! From the welcoming hosts to the yummy good Hawaiian dishes, together they will make you feel like you're back on the islands! The entire staff were so welcoming and attentive to our party that we felt we were at our families home and not at a restaurant!! I highly recommend you visit this establishment to get that Aloha feeling!!!

I got my food to go but the quality was still delicious and tasty. The sauces helped add more flavor since the poke wasn't pre marinated.

I decided to try something different and found such a great place to dine. They have indoor and outdoor seating, we opted to sit outside on the small couch area during such a nice summer day. The waiter knew the menu very well. It's important to ask which drinks are strong vs. very sweet. Initially I ended up with a very sweet drink and then I ended up with an amazing but strong drink. I loved both!!! The Spicy Prawns were delicious but they do have a nice kick. Initially they were very undercooked but the staff took them back to be cooked longer and they came out perfect. I'd love to try more things on the menu

I got a to-go Kalua pork plate and there was a lot of pork, rice and potato Mac salad. The portion was really good for the price I paid too. Really recommend this Hawaiian restaurant in the Bay Area!

Came here for dinner with family and we were seated outside. Weather was colder on this specific day but the outside heaters made the weather almost unnoticeable. I've also been here a few times in the past and I've tried multiple items on their menu. There isn't one thing I didn't like. My favorite items on the menu is the Guava Steak, it's sweet, salty and really tender and juicy. The Kalua Pig itself was also pretty good. Meaty, little salty and allergen safe for those with gluten, soy, egg, shellfish, dairy allergy. Our waitress didn't know what specific allergies some dishes contained, but I appreciate they went to kitchen to ask. Maybe an allergen chart would help. The loco Moco might be the most presentable dish in my opinion. Very tasty and juicy meat patties. The gravy is unmatched. Real good umami, perfect thickness to top off the loco moco. We also love the fries, good crispiness but still fluffy on the inside. The Taro chips are also another favorite when we come here. Live music is a little loud but it gives good island vibes. Definitely a place to check out if you're in the area.

Love for Lahaina (ube martini) & forgot the other drink Noelani's Island Grill, located in San Carlos, serves Hawaiian-Asian fusion cuisine. They're known for their tropical atmosphere, live music, and island-inspired food and cocktails. My friend and I decided to try the Shaka Chicken, Tsunami Fries, and Mama's Spicy Garlic Prawns. The presentation was spot on, but the food itself fell short. Everything sounded great on the menu, but when it came to taste, we were left disappointed. That said, we definitely want to give this place another try!

Came here on Saturday for a late lunch with some friends. Street parking is available, no dedicated parking lot. Luckily we found a spot quickly, but noticed all the available spaces were taken by 2pm. This was my first time here and it looks like your local favorite restaurant for Hawaiian food. The entire ambiance screams aloha: from floral arches, wooden panels, and some tiki decorations, it was a vibe haha. We got seated quickly and service was attentive. A few dishes I tried: 1. Lomi Salmon Poke - pretty good! I like that they are generous with their toppings. The salmon quality was okay - it was good but not as fresh as other pokes I've had. I love edamame and there was plenty of that in the bowl, so that was a plus for me. 2. Chicken Katsu - flavorful, crunchy, your solid chicken katsu :) 3. Pistachio Espresso Martini - I honestly had a hard time deciding which drink to get because their whole drink menu sounded delicious!! I ended up trying this one and was not disappointed. Our whole table ended up getting this drink and we liked the creaminess, strong coffee-flavor, and clear pistachio taste in this drink. Highly recommend! I knocked it down a star because although we had a nice time hanging out here and catching up, the food wasn't entirely memorable to want to come back anytime soon. However, if you are feeling for some Hawaiian food and need your fix, this is a considerable place to visit!

I've had Noelani's in my bookmarks for a while and they did not disappoint. The vibe is really chill/relaxing. There is a front and back patio space, plenty of outdoor seating. The staff is also really nice and accommodating. Dogs are allowed and they even offered ice water on a hot summer day. I've been here for both regular dinner and happy hour. It honestly isn't that packed for happy hour and they have a good selection of food and drinks. Tsunami fries is definitely a must get. It may sound weird but it works. The fries are thin and crispy like shoestring fries. My favorite drink so far has been the Virgin Pina Colada. It is a very nice and refreshing coconut slushie. Guava steak had a nice flavor to it. The Island Fish Tacos were also really good. My friend likes the Shaka Chicken. So far, it seems like there hasn't been a negative experience. I definitely recommend coming here!

I've been to Noelani's a couple of times and mostly it's been so so, but I think this last time completely turned me off to returning. Let's start off positive, with the highlights: live music on some days, cozy Hawaiian ambiance, and mai tais! These are all great. But the food and service really need improvement. :( We have hosted birthdays here twice, two years apart, and had the same waitress who is incredibly rude and impatient. We were hoping that it improved, but the fact that we remember her from the last time means something... As for the food, we've tried a bunch of things on the menu and I think the pork belly bites, edamame, and Shaka chicken is pretty decent. But everything else is super overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. You might be better off ordering from L&L! Total: $305

It was an interesting experience overall, emphasis on interesting. Complete satisfaction includes the staff, and that's where things went downhill, he server/receptionist/sitter (apparently a one-man show). He brought us the wrong salad, and when we pointed it out, his expression said he was two seconds away from yelling at us. The whole place gave off "we-were-kidnapped-from-a-vacation-retreat-and-forced-to-serve-tables" energy. Definitely memorable -- though not quite in the way they were hoping. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Great place to go and enjoy some island grinds. Nice selection during Happy hour and great full bar to choose a variety of drinks. The severs are friendly and attentive. The portions are healthy and the presentation is good for all their dishes. Good place to enjoy a casual meal and have fun with some friends. They have live music also on Friday and Saturday.

Came back to Noelani's for dinner on a Saturday at 6:30 for 4 people. After putting our names down, we only had to wait around 15 minutes. And Friday/Saturday nights are live music nights - can make it a bit hard to hear outside and inside, but it's still a really nice touch. We ordered drinks, lumpia and spam musubi appetizers and individual entrees - shaka chicken, katsu curry, loco moco and saimin bowl. The saimin made me super nostalgic for Hawaii - and very generous portions. The staff are always so warm and attentive, they welcome you in like family. For 4 people for drinks, appetizers and entrees, the total came out to $183 or 46/person.

Ordered on dinner on doordash and I received raw chicken from their chicken katsu plate. Only got a 5 dollar credit from doordash.

Solidly delicious place to get higher end Hawaiian plates. The quality and flavors are better than the typical Letter and Letter place down the street. Kalua Pork: super juicy, perfect amount of smokiness and sooo good with the sweetness of the cabbage. Garlic Prawns: large giant delicious prawns; they hit the spot when I'm craving the trucks on North Shore.

Service was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Changing table for baby's in women's restroom. Indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered so much food! Definitely difficult to make one decision. The Mac salad is different but really good, it has olives and potatoes. Good portions. That Shaka chicken is amazing! Poke is a must! We will be back.

The food was amazing! My second time coming back to the restaurant and brought my friends to try out the food. The vibes were immaculate and the music and decor of the restaurant was on point and the seevice. My favorite was the nachos and the guava steak was *chief's kiss*

We just got back from Hawaii and were already missing it. So we decided to keep the island vibes going and try this place out. So glad we did! The service was incredible. Our server, Leah, was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. She made us feel like locals--if you know what I mean. Lol. I ordered the Guava Steak with rice and mac salad. Although it was more of a potato salad, but honestly, it was delicious either way. The steak strips were full of flavor and paired perfectly with the rice and salad. My wife had the Shaka Chicken, and wow... it tasted like pure Hawaiian goodness! Easily one of the best chicken dishes we've had. We also shared the Hurricane Fries (so addictive!) and washed it all down with refreshing Guava drinks. The ambiance was amazing and it truly felt like we were still in Hawaii. This place is now our go-to Hawaiian sit-down restaurant in Northern California. There's nothing else like it around here. A++++ -- I'm already looking forward to coming back!

We've been coming here for years, but neglected to leave a long overdue review. We usually will start with one (or more) of their delicious Mai Tai's, 3 is the limit, and for good reason, they do not scrimp on the spirits. The waitstaff is professional and friendly, this place really makes you feel like you are in the islands, outdoor seating too. Noelani's really is a local gem. If you are in for a late lunch or early dinner, suggest you try their happy hour Tuesday thru Sunday 3-5pm some good deals to be had on drinks and some menu items. I love the Kahlua pig, tastes like it just came out of an imu, the teriyaki chicken and loco moco. Don't forget to get the malasadas for dessert, next best thing to a trip to Leonard's on Oahu. I'm getting hungry for a taste of Hawaii right now!

I enjoyed the food from this restaurant very much. The food was delicious and fulfilling. We also brought our doggies with us and sat outside after our hike. The place is very clean and staff were friendly to our doggies. I will definitely come back again.

Love this place for a weekend brunch. The spam breakfast is just so nostalgic for me. The service here is always so friendly and welcoming. The cocktails here are just a little too sweet for my taste.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Got the shaka chicken. Good portion. The green sauce is too green which kinda throws me off. Expect it to be sweet, a bit too sweet so just a warning. Would love to try other dishes next time.

I always love coming here for a drink and food especially during happy hour! I always get a blue Hawaiian drink which never disappoints. This time I took my family and they loved it as well. My bf mentioned how sitting in the patio area really felt like we were in Hawaii with the beach shore just on the other side of the gate. The live music added the best touch. The service is always great as well as they always come to check on you and are very quick. Def recommend the dessert pie and the chicken! 5/5 taste 5/5 service

Wow. This was delicious. Really enjoyed this place. The front patio was welcoming and looked like a nice place to sit. Couches around tables and a variety of other tables just like in the back patio. Both front and back were reasonably quiet. Inside was live ukulele music and kind of loud. We loved sitting out back. The staff were friendly and were amazing with kids. There were several tables around us with children and the staff really engaged with the kids and made them feel welcome. It was spacious and we didn't feel cramped by having lots of other parties including small kids around. Ok, the food. Yum. My husband and I had the chicken with spicy Thai sauce from the hors d'oeuvres. Can't remember the name. It was good. A mild burn. It was like little pieces of crispy flavor. Then we ordered the Kailua pig tacos. Wow, so good. Also had the chicken katsu plate with spam fried rice. It was good too. Loved the sauce with rich ginger flavor. Too much food though and had to bring the rest home. My brother had the loco moco and said it was fabulous. Cocktails were good too. I would definitely come back. This is the best Hawaiian style food I've had on the mainland. I feel like I've just had a wee bit of a vacation.

10/10 vibe & overall atmosphere of the restaurant. I believe this is exactly what the bay is missing specifically South Bay where I feel like there's a lack of patio/ half indoor outdoor restaurants like these. We went on a sunny day and sat right in the front of the outdoor seating area that had a comfy couch. We ordered an Ube drink (fire but strong) and a beer to go with our meal. The food was nicely plated and aesthetically pleasing but I was pretty disappointed with the lack of flavor from the fried rice and pork belly. I don't think we ordered their top menu items but ordered small bites instead that didn't have the freshness I was expecting. I would definitely still recommend this place if you love Hawaiian food and I'm sure some of their other menu options would be worth trying out!

Honestly have nothing to say about this spot. the ambiance is great and the seat outside is beautiful. food was a decent portion and the salmon was very fresh. our waiter was super sweet as well and i will be coming back ^-^

Had a chance to visit Noelanis on Valentine's Day with my fiancé and so glad I did! This is a cute spot with lots of heart and a cute ambiance. The service was fast and friendly which was really nice. Once we sat down we ordered: * poke - this was the soy based one and it was yummy but flavorful and fresh * Shaka chicken plate - this was yummy and we upgraded to the spam fried rice which was nice and flavorful. The chicken was super crispy which I loved * pork belly with pineapple - this was sauce and I wish the pork belly was more crispy, overall okay though Overall portions are big and food is good for what you pay. Worth trying once!

I'd been a few times many years back and was happy to see they made it thru Covid! This place is such a gem. There is plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating along with bar seating! Lots of TVs, heat lamps (outside areas) and fun decor. They also do live entertainment! The spot would also be perfect for a private event!! This time we went for lunch and there was no wait, we got to pick where we wanted to sit and had a server that was very attentive. Not only was the food ono along with the wonderful service, the vibes were on point. The menu has so many delicious looking options it's hard to choose- so here's what we got; Ube whiskey colada Spam musubi Pork lumpia Hurricane fries Kalua pig island sliders Shaka chicken plate Guava steak plate Spam fried rice Potato Mac salad My personal fave was the guava steak... I could eat that everyday!! Definitely recommend everyone hula their way over ASAP!
