"The quirky cafe and restaurant has been a Five Points neighborhood staple since opening in a former Piggly Wiggly supermarket in 2001 (hence the name NoFo @ the Pig). Weekend brunch at NoFo finds diners chowing down on plates of fried green tomato Benedicts, pulled pork hash, and buttermilk fried chicken and eggs (served with biscuits and Johnston County country ham gravy). A selection of salads as well as brunch burgers are also available." - Matt Lardie

After a too long hiatus from visiting this Raleigh staple my wife & I visited Sunday for brunch. Walked in and were seated at a cute table for 2 in the rear of restaurant. Started with the House Bloody and a mimosa. Had the Chicken/Biscuits/Eggs for me and the Mrs enjoyed the Fried Green tomato and pimento cheese breakfast sandwich. Probably only “knock” would be hers could have been warmer. The tomato was cold in the center. Overall, a great experience and equally good service.

Loved this place! It has a southern, quirky feel. We parked in the back and entered through a downstairs exit and were seated quickly. If you go on a rainy day, they seat people upstairs in the shop area which feels super special. That area can also be rented out for baby showers, and other events. The upstairs is a shop that has extremely cute and fun products of every kind. They have fridges throughout with cakes, and jams. They have a kitchen section, stationary section, board game section, toy section, jewelry section and so much more! Each product feels hand-picked and thought-out and will make you fall in love or chuckle! The staff is very very conversational and friendly. The food was really good. Not a lot to choose from because each dish is thoughtfully chosen for the menu and amazing. I'd recommend the breakfast burrito, pork hash, or fried green tomatoes. Their lattes are super yummy too!

Lovely place, solid food. Great gift shop up stairs and fun location and cool part of town

Google
Delicious menu items, with a wide variety of Southern-based dishes. Shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, pork chop, fried chicken salad, and the fried oysters were perfect. There's a gift shop upstairs with lots of fun and interesting gifts, including jams and jellys, T-shirts, candies of all types, accessories, books, music, jewelry, and lots more. Featured items are all from local North Carolina companies, craftsfolk, and artisans.

Google
Great place for brunch! Nice staff, fun atmosphere. The omelette was delicious with fresh ingredients and the grits were some of the best I’ve had. The shop upstairs was fun, with lots of unique gifts and things for the kitchen. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.

NOFO @ the Pig is a great Southern diner/restaurant inside an old Piggly Wiggly supermarket. The experience was fabulous. The service was great, the portions were a good size and the atmosphere was zany. What more could you ask for; okay, a unique gift shop just up the stairs! Our party of four had the Kale Caesar Salad, two orders of the Chicken Salad Plate, and the Grilled Chicken Club. The Kale Caesar was prepared with crisp curly kale, Romaine, house Caesar dressing, aged Parmesan, Asiago, Romano, and croutons. A grilled homemade spinach patty was an add-on to top off the salad. Two of us enjoyed the Chicken Salad Plate which was accompanied by a choice of two sides. One of us went with fruit and country ham rolls. The other had sweet potato fries and cucumber salad. Our last choice was the Grilled Chicken Club arrived with Nahunta ham, grilled chicken breast, Applewood smoked bacon, Provolone, sharp cheddar, tomato, greens, and Cajun mayo on toasted Wheatberry bread slices. We all enjoyed our food and time spent at NOFO and look forward to dining there again. This is one establishment you don't want to miss. We think of NOFO as a destination not to be missed the next time you're in Raleigh, NC. Enjoy!

Been here twice and loved it both times. I ordered a BLT off menu and the waitress/cook was super accommodating and made it for me anyway. Ended up being amazing and rivaled a Merritt’s Grill BLT. Good food and nice outdoor seating space.

I honestly can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner! It’s a former Piggly Wiggly grocery store turned into a hip restaurant and shop. All the staff is super nice and the vibe is funky and chill. We ordered the pulled pork hash and chicken biscuits and both were awesome! Our server was friendly and she made sure everything was perfect. We also got a Bloody Mary and I can see why it’s so popular. They have a big table in the shop that overlooks the dining room which I intended reserve soon to enjoy a meal with a group of friends. This review is going long but I’d like to mention the shop with all its fun, eclectic items for sale. I highly recommend you go here because I’m sure you will love it.

Yelp
This is a Raleigh staple!!! I hope Nofo never leaves us. Everything on the menu is fantastic but I love the BBQ sandwich, chicken salad plate, and the shrimp burger hands down! Growing up here, we had so many great little local lunch spots and they're all disappearing with more and more "big businesses" going in everywhere. Keep supporting local so our city stays special Sweetest lady that owns it too!

Yelp
Met the college kids in Raleigh for brunch on a Saturday. We easily made a reservation for 4 the evening before and actually got seated early. Dani was our server and as super nice as anyone can be. We love how open this space is with lots of windows. There is street parking, a small Nofo only lot and the Wells a Fargo lot when they aren't open. Upstairs is a quirky gift store, selling everything from fresh ground coffee, frozen food to environmentally friendly underwater. The real show stealer is the food! Coffee okay, Bloody Mary I would not get again. Brunch, however was great. One breakfast burrito (ordered by the Nofo regular and former hostess), French Toast (highly recommend!), fried chicken and eggs with biscuit and gravy (could have used more seasoning in the chicken breading and more gravy on the biscuit), and the fried green tomato sandwich with the sweet potato fries (4 out of 5 stars for that combo).

Yelp
One of two go to restaurants for my wife and I in Raleigh. We love this place! Is in the basement area of a converted Piggly Wiggly. Food is outstanding, reasonably priced, and the service is always great. The biggest bonus, is the fact that the upstairs area is a retail space featuring North Carolina products. Everything about this place is awesome!

Yelp
NOFO @ the Pig is in Raleigh's Five Points area. The restaurant and gift shop was part of what was a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in the 1950s to 1990s. The rest of the grocery store was where Lily's Pizza and Third Place Coffee shop are now. I loved how so many artifacts were on display in the restaurant and gift shop. NOFO has a small parking lot for its customers. Make sure to enter from Fairview as it is one way. The restaurant is on the first level and the gift shop is on the second although it has some seats for dining. You enter the restaurant from the Glenwood side. The Gift Shop entrance is from the Fairview side. The restaurant just has a few tables and they were spread out well. We were seated at a round table so that made conversations easier between everyone and the smaller side made it quieter inside. There are outside tables available as well. I ordered the orange and candy pecan salad and it was made without onions for me. I did add shrimp and was happy with the portion. I loved the salad as it all went together well. I went with the apple pie for dessert. I think it got microwaved as the pie was super hot in spots. Other than that the pie was great with actual apples and not a sugary apple filing. NOFO will be in the regular rotation.

Yelp
Went there for the fist time to meet someone I worked with virtually for three years but never physically met. What a great spot for that! We sat outside. I made a reservation for Saturday brunch which I don't think was necessary. I had the green tomato eggs Benedict. Yum!! My friends had the French toast which they loved.

Tom S.

Yelp
Once again this places never fails to impress. They have really stepped up their lunch game. If you ever see the Buffalo chicken on special, SPRINT TO GET IT! Same with the fish sandwich! The club and burger are always solid and have never been disappointed by any of their salads. Last - get the Arnold Palmer. I prefer unsweet tea because the lemonade is pretty sweet on its own. The only reminder I would throw out is if ordering to go - the burger is dry. As in they don't put ketchup, mustard, Mayo ect. They also have amazing ranch & a tomato aioli that amazing.

Allan A.

Yelp
Located on the ground floor of a converted they are open different times based on the day. I enjoyed a Saturday brunch. Tables were nicely spaced apart. The French toast was tasty and accompanied by some fruit. Breakfast potatoes appeared to be from the freezer which was disappointing. My meal was good to above. I did not indulge in some of the fancier items which might have bumped up my rating. Check out the gift shop before leaving.

Calvin L.

Yelp
This souther food elevated! I've said it before and and I'll say it again. The menu is short but everything is good! You cannot go wrong!

Danielle S.

Yelp
Super cute store and restaurant. the decor. Food was good. Very attentive service. My only concern was that I added bacon as a side for $5 and only received 2 strips of bacon. That felt a bit skimpy I would return and spend more time exploring the cute store.

Lori S.

Yelp
What an experience! The space had a storefront with all kinds of shopping possibilities! From kitchenware to clothing! There were local artists displayed with the ability to purchase their paintings. The restaurant itself was brightly colored with colorful items around including chandeliers. The food was very good. I got the French Toast which I haven't had for years, and it didn't disappoint. Nice size portions. The fruit could have been more substantial but it was good.

Kat M.

Yelp
The biscuit was cold and the hash browns were clearly not fresh. It seems as if the hash browns were frozen and cooked and then heated up - no onions and kind of dry-ish. The fruit did not seem fresh and the butter was cold as opposed to room soft. EXCELLENT STAFF AND GREAT AMBIANCE

K A.

Yelp
Love this place. It's so cute and fun to be in. The upstairs is a little gift shop with quite a large selection of items. And then the food/bar is located downstairs. The service is quick, food came out hot and fresh and everyone was very friendly.

C L.

Yelp
Always a good choice for a fun meal and quirky and unique atmosphere. Awesome store and market upstairs. Cocktails and wine selection are very good -- Shrimp and grits are very good (they've been serving them for years, but I prefer how they served them 15 or so years ago, compared to how they present them today, but that's just my preference -- French toast at brunch is excellent, at least in my son's opinion. NoFo has maintained a great quality experience for years. Service has always been good in my experience.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Raleigh institution that was just as good I remembered it being 10 years ago. Generous portions, savory servings, and creative cocktails...share with your meal mate to experience the variety of dishes. Check this place out for lunch or brunch and don't miss the shop especially if you're on the hunt for a unique gift - great cards too.

Yelp
Fun brunch at this eclectic spot in the 5 Points area. It's a former Piggly Wiggly supermarket building, converted into restaurant/gift shop. Plenty of Piggly Wiggly memorabilia on the walls among well spaced tables inside, a few on a back patio and slew on the front patio. Our server, Rebecca, did a great job. Friendly, prompt and professional - orders taken & delivered accurately and with a smile. THANK YOU! Started with the house Bloody Mary. Perfectly balanced with enough heat to stimulate the taste buds without burning your tongue. Garnished with an olive, cucumber spear and a green bean, rim dusted with Old Bay. A great start! Tried Pulled Pork Hash. A tasty hash of pulled pork is griddled with potatoes, onions and peppers then topped with a pair of poached eggs and a dollop of hollandaise sauce. Poached eggs weren't overdone, so lots of yolk to soak up with the freshly baked biscuits. Yum! Even better is the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. A big buttermilk biscuit is piled with a battered/fried slice of green tomato, slathered with house-made pimento cheese, poached eggs and a shmear of smoked bacon jam, and adorned with a sprinkle of tomato relish. The smoked bacon jam is so good, looked for it in the gift shop (sadly, sold out on this visit). A very cool, laid back and relaxing atmosphere for a delicious brunch. Recommended!

Yelp
Back in the day this spot was a Piggly Wiggly which is neat. On this most recent visit we made a reservation over the phone and dined in for dinner. We started off with a round of drinks, a beer for me and the High Fashioned for my husband, followed by two appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and goat cheese crostini. For our main courses I ordered the roasted seasonal vegetables and my husband ordered the winter salad with salmon. All of the food was amazing, unfortunately we did not save room for dessert. I've only dined in for dinner so I still need to check this place out for brunch. It's funky and is definitely a must visit. On another note, the market is located upstairs and is worth checking out if it's open during your visit.

Shelli W.

Yelp
The food was good, coffee was good, OJ did not taste like concentrate. Ambiance was amazing. The store has a little for everyone, if you can't find a gift here for a person then you are not going to find one at all.

Diane T.

Yelp
This is a Raleigh staple. It's a great place for lunch with friends. The food is very good. After you eat go upstairs and enjoy a shopping adventure! I highly recommend! Service was great!

Lexie R.

Yelp
Super yummy! Service was a little slow, but food was 10/10. Honorable Mentions to the ranch, it was amaze!!!

Nicki G.

Yelp
Nofo is great! It's a cute spot with great food. The portions are really great and don't leave you feeling like crap. Love Nofo!!

Anita N.

Yelp
Great service, ambiance, and price. The biscuit was good. I ordered my eggs over easy but it can be ordered by your preference

Yelp
Very fun Southern restaurant in an old Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Large market area is fun to explore while waiting for a table, although we were seated right on time according to our reservation. Had the Blue Plate special of fried chicken on mashed potatoes with gravy and collard greens. It was delicious as was wife's pork chop. Drinks, appetizers and entree were all spot on.

Yelp
Was finally able to try this place when some friends who were in town visiting wanted to do brunch here. I had always heard that it gets really busy and there is a long wait since they don't do reservations but we can right around 11am on a Saturday and there was zero wait with plenty of open tables. They converted part of their parking lot into an outdoor dining area, which is where we sat and it was perfect for a nice NC day! Their brunch menu is not extensive but I was very excited to order the fried green tomato benedict; and it was very good! Another plus is that their fruit side actually comes with good fruit and not just melon. In addition to food, we tried almost all of their brunch drinks. Mimosas, bloody mary, aperol spritz, and a funky drink that involved beer and peach schapps (d not recall the name). They were all tasty but the OG mimosa has my heart, which is $5 during brunch....not bad. My only critique here was the service. It wasn't terrible, just a bit slow. We didn't get our second round of drinks until we were all almost finished eating.

Yelp
I came with my family for restaurant week, and we were all disappointed with the meal as a whole. Since there were four of us, we essentially got to order most of the restaurant week menu. We made reservations beforehand, and we were glad we did because the place filled up not long after we got there. Unfortunately, that seemed to put us at a slight disadvantage, because we weren't told of the prime rib special that day, which was also another option on the restaurant week menu that wasn't printed on the menus we were given. We only found this out after we got our food and overhead other wait staff tell their tables this useful bit of information. I guess our waitress just didn't bother to mention it to us. Regarding the food, we started with Fried Green Tomatoes, Chicken Satay, and a Summer Berry Salad. The Fried Green Tomatoes were mushy on the inside - a good fried green tomato will hold up even after its fried, in my opinion, so the actual tomato should still have a firm bite on the inside while being crisp from the fried exterior. This one was not - it was crispy on the outside, but mushy on the inside. The bacon jam was tasty, as was the pimento cheese. The Chicken Satay came only with two skewers, and the cucumber salad on the side was inundated with vinegar - way too much. The peanut sauce was flavorful, though. The Summer Berry Salad was nothing to write home about. It was also small in size. For entrees, we tried the Shrimp and Grits, Baby Back Ribs, and Grilled Mahi Mahi over rice and curry. The shrimp tasted good in the shrimp and grits, but that's about all that went well. The grits were the wrong consistency - not smooth - and the flavors were just ok. The ribs had minimal flavor, and the texture was off. It almost seemed like it was cooked in a pressure cooker and broiled quickly to attempt to give it a char - the interior of the meat was just.. mushy. There were also only three ribs on the plate. The crispy fried zucchini was the best part of that plate. The mahi mahi tasted decent, but was a bit dry. The curry was coconut overload, and didn't mesh well in flavor with the fish at all, in my opinion. For dessert, the Chocolate Torte was incredibly rich for me, and the Grilled Buttermilk Biscuit was.. interesting. It was like a biscuit-turned-into-French-Toast concept that felt heavy. The ice cream was good, though. The dinner rolls and butter were probably the highlight of the meal in terms of food. Those were really good. Our service, as I mentioned before, didn't feel comprehensive. We weren't told all the specials, and it just felt very unpersonable. The space is small, so once more people came, it felt very full - borderline crowded. It's a clean restaurant, though, and the shopping area upstairs is a nice way to pass time if you're waiting to be seated, or need something to do after the meal. Overall, it was an underwhelming meal. We went for restaurant week, and that should be the time when restaurants try to impress customers with a sampling of their menu. I felt like we got shafted with portion size, and probably would have had better (as well as more) food if we ordered from the regular menu instead. That's unfortunate.

Kat G.

Yelp
This review is for the shop only* This is my go to place when I need to take NC goodies to Ca. They have a good selection of Items from NC. I always pick up BBQ sauce, spices, coffee and fun NC souvenirs. My favorite is they sale items sections where you can find good deals and reasonable prices. I can get lost browsing thru their items. Parking is tricky and noticed they have new marked parking stalls with numbers. Make sure you notify the hostess so your car won't be towed.

Shanita E.

Yelp
This place is super cute inside! I love the store and how they support local businesses! It's nice to shop while you wait for your table. The service was excellent, and the staff was knowledgeable of the menu. I personally didn't like the French toast at all! They were pretty bland. The green friend tomatoes were good! I would order them again!! If you are looking for a basic brunch spot, this is your place.

Karly H.

Yelp
NOFO is the cutest little restaurant and shop! Located in what used to be a Piggly Wiggly in Five Points, NOFO has delicious, classic, southern food with a colorful atmosphere. I'm a big pimento cheese fan but I usually eat it cold so it's a real treat to order the Hot Pimento Cheese Dip here! They serve it up with crispy bacon, veggies & toasted bread. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich is so good and very filling. Such a great lunch option but also big enough to share as a starter. The Grilled Chicken Club is one of the best sandwiches I've had in awhile! Something about the Cajun mayo on that toasted wheatberry bread. Ham, chicken, bacon cheese cheese, all yummy things coming together in perfect harmony! Also, you need to try one of their award winning Bloody Marys! Just what you need to add a little spice to your brunch. You can also purchase the Bloody Mix & Pimento Cheese to take home with you, or even pick up curbside!

Ann Hudson W.

Yelp
Another great meal at NOFO! Such a great brunch spot and the outdoor seating is so nice in the spring. No wait and yummy food!

Marcus D.

Yelp
rude old geezers who work here. I strongly suggest you avoid nofo at all costs. The high price is not worth dealing with the old ladies who work there.

Robbie C.

Yelp
What's a Nofo at the pig? You might be wondering as I did when my daughter suggested this place to meet at for lunch. Thinking it was going to be yet another bbq place, I was hoping I was wrong. I still eat no meat and most bbq places are just not serving good veggie options. So the pig refers to the previous Piggly wiggly that used to be. The Nofo is actually short for the first Nofo in Wilmington that is on North Fourth. History lesson now complete, the place is cute and unique with lots of pig decor, a nod to the old Piggly wiggly. Was happy to see they offer a few veggie dishes, spinach burger??!!! I was curious what they used to bind it together, as I've never heard of it before. Eggs, breadcrumbs and Swiss cheese and I loved it! The server knew and that in itself is impressive. The side I got was a yummy kale salad with a ginger vinaigrette dressing. My daughter loved her shrimp and grits and I would love to check out their brunch soon. There is a fantastic gift shop upstairs with all kinds of local kitschy type gifts, loved browsing through, be sure to check it out. Chocolates, home and baby items, a little bit of everything. The décor is fun and whimsical. We didn't have a wait but waiting here wouldn't be a bad thing.

Montinique W.

Yelp
What a quirky fun dual restaurant and shop in 5 Points! I've been living in North Raleigh since 1997, and I grew up under the cruise of the chain restaurant. I make it a point in my adult life to try new and privately owned places. This is a spot that I'm happy I decided to try for the first time and I will gladly recommend to anyone who is seeking brunch recommendations. On a Sunday before noon, there was no wait for a table for despite the store being fairly busy. If you have a party of 4+ call ahead or expect to wait. The menu is pretty small. My mother has a cheese and egg allergy so it was a little hard to find something satisfying on the menu but she figured it out with the substitutions that are allowed with the Big Country Breakfast. There is a wide selections of adult beverages which is a huge plus in my book! I also enjoyed walking through the shop upstairs and checking out all the food and apparel. One more thing.... the service is amazing!

Nancy N.

Yelp
Food was great. Service was fantastic. The shop was adorable. Lots of cute items you could pick up for last minute gift.

Che - Che H.

Yelp
Artsy little spot for a good quality southern breakfast/brunch. Love their cocktails as well.

Tresa W.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday with my hubby , his first time my first time for brunch. You know the place is going to be awesome when it comes highly recommended from a local Bartender from a hip brewery. Boy were we in for a treat. I ordered a elderberry juice filled taquila Bliss and hubby their famous bloody Mary. Both were Devine. For breakfast I ordered fried green tomato pimento cheese bacon jam eggs Benedict and hubby ordered nofo rancheros. Both of our dishes presented well and tasted amazing. Cafe staff was upbeat and friendly. Space was clean bright and inviting. Can't wait to go back next weekend

Steven S.

Yelp
So there I was with my cousin, Pewter. I had just ordered 19 bottles of rare spanish wine from the grape of the "Santo Paòlo" region when I look up and see this INSANE pig with lipstick looking at me. Seriously, it even had glasses on... Like go see an optometrist... Anyways.. So I point it out to Pewter and he seriously almost choked on his bloody Mary. Like.. Get it together, Pewter. But yeah. The foods pretty good. Drinks make you drunk, which I'm obviously writing this review sober. 5 stars.

Peggy H.

Yelp
I moved to North Carolina from California three years ago and I can honestly say that this is the only restaurant I have found that consistently delivers delicious, fresh cooked special meals. I'm not a fan of high carb squishy food that is so common in North Carolina and I am delighted to be able to bring family and visitors here, knowing we will have a great meal. Awesome ambience with a cute gift shop upstairs, and attentive service that is friendly and helpful.

Heather H.

Yelp
Fun, quirky, yummy. I came here for the first time, with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised by almost all aspects (the one not so pleasant, our group table is seated right in front of the bathrooms... maybe not the best use of space) I ordered a Trout dish and it was super flavorful: Lightly crispy, seasoned and cooked well. (and of course, who can forget their hot rolls and butter- so good!) I really enjoy their use of colorful dishes, tablecloths, etc... it definitely adds to the whole experience. I appreciate that they have their own small parking lot and also, the gift shop upstairs.. a great way to kill some time if waiting for a table, or just looking for a unique gift.

Lacy D.

Yelp
This place is interesting. The atmosphere is very laid-back, diner style. We arrived right when they opened at 10am on Saturday morning and there were several people in front of us. Service was a bit slow, but she was nice so no biggie. The food was another story. One friend got the Shrimp and Grits and she said it tasted overwhelmingly citrusy, like way too much lemon and not savory at all. My other friend had the Juevos Rancheros and wasn't thrilled about the gigantic, greasy piece of chorizo that came with it. Also, there were grits under the black beans which was odd - definitely not something you typically see in that dish and it was a strange pairing. I had the Pulled Pork Hash and it was super greasy/oily and fried. The potatoes tasted like something you get out of a bag in the freezer section of the grocery store and the peppers and onions had been sauteed to their deaths. The pork was good - tender and not dry. Biscuits were bland but fluffy. Overall, I wasn't turned off, but I wouldn't go back. It was just normal greasy dinner food...not my thing.

Sara J.

Yelp
Had brunch there today. My fiancé's has the fried chicken which was pretty good and I had the fried green tomatoes Benedict. It really wasn't good and turned to mush pretty quickly. I'd try it again and order something different to see if that dish was just a fluke. Otherwise it was nice to have no wait time for outdoor seating.

Mike B.

Yelp
Covid-19 makes for tough dining today, but NOFO did everything the right way to give you a good feeling about eating out. Masks by everyone, outdoor seating, and tables spaced appropriately. We went there for brunch on a Sunday. I had the breakfast burrito, and my wife had the fried green tomato eggs benedict. We both thought the food was very good, as was the service. Really enjoyed eating here.

Stacey P.

Yelp
If you're not familiar with this quirky little gem, NOFO is located in historic Five Points of Raleigh in a restored Piggly Wiggly grocery store building. You can dine in the cafe, shop for local items in the food market, and you might as well hit the gift shop on your visit. We chose two entrees for our Saturday night dinner. The salmon with a tomato relish and apple mustard glaze is served with asparagus and a cauliflower gratin. They always ask how you would like the salmon grilled, which is a nice touch. The cucumber adds a nice crunch to the relish. Now, I know everybody is serving cauliflower these days, but NOFO knows how to do it right! This gratin is to die for - just the right amount of cheese so as not to overpower the cauliflower and the chef manages to maintain the texture. In other words, it is not cooked to mush. The Joyce Farms chicken is a winner as well. The skin is crispy and the chicken oh so tender and juicy. The grits are creamy and the grilled asparagus, tomatoes, and mushrooms are a great combo. The pan jus brings the whole dish together. NOFO is one of those places where the quality of the food is always consistent.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Went for Sunday brunch. Awful service. My girlfriend and I are older and were sat in the very back by the bathrooms, worst table in the restaurant. The reason I found this odd is that there were plenty of tables open in the front of the restaurant as we got there when they opened. Our waitress was also rude. Eggs Benedict with the green tomatoes were ok but not excellent. I will never eat at this restaurant again because of the way we were treated.

Ariana T.

Yelp
Nofo was so tastey. I went for lunch with a friend and we both enjoyed our meals. I've been a couple times and have always enjoyed my experience. The waitress was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. I look forward to next time!

Linda F.

Yelp
I loved the store upstairs but as always... the restaurant is rated based on the FOOD. Other than the lovely ambience and very cute décor, the barbecue pulled pork benedict was DRY. In fact, so dry that no amount of sauce would penetrate the stringy twig desert of a pulled pork that I was served. I wasn't sure if this was second day meat, or week old meet, but there had to be enough salt in it to dry out my lips. Was this meat being preserved for mummification before I ordered it?The egg portion (was slightly overcooked but it's hard to get these things right) and the sauce were fine. However, the real star of the brunch was the bloody mary. Full of spice and seasonings, and enough vegetables to keep me entertained for the rest of the meal.... if I come here again, that will be the only thing I'll get.

Kevin C.

Yelp
My cousin Filbert and me came here on a rainy Tuesday for bloody Marys. Our waitress Patricia. I don't believe in magic, straight up, until I went to this place. I deadass s**t you not I met a real life wizard here, cape and all. It was weird I really could not believe my eyes. This is how it went down: I'm in the gender neutral bathroom, right (it's 2020, baby). My weave sort of had shifted out of place so I grabbed my styling gel and headed in. I'm at the mirror, ok, doing my thing. I head into one of the stalls to take a leak and look down and see these purple pointed slippers. At first I thought it was my cousin Ralph. He has those same shoes. But I was confused because Ralph lives in Las Vegas. "Ralphie?" I asked. No answer. I leave the stall and so does who I thought was Ralphie. Then there he was. Albus F***** Dumbledore. This place is a awesome.

Yelp
Our go-to restaurant for Southern specialties in Raleigh. Highly Recommend. Good food and craft cocktails.

Yelp
Foodie alert! Eggs Benedict like you've never had it before. You will want this every day after trying it. Poached eggs over pimento cheese, over a crisp fried green tomato and all resting on a ciabatta bread slice with a spread of bacon jam. Sounds weird I know! But the flavors all combined will knock your socks off!!! Can't wait to visit Raleigh again!

Yelp
Always great service and wonderful service!!! The price is right for the delicious and quality food! I noticed their take out service was booming tonight! Great to support a local business!

Yelp
Word on the street is that this place used to be a Piggly Wiggly, hence the name. Not surprisingly, then, this is NOT the place to go if you're vegan! I came here for brunch today with my roommates and had a great time. We had to wait 15 minutes or so for a table, but we spent that time strolling through the upstairs market. I could spend much more than 15 minutes in that section, so I did not mind one bit. The market has all kinds of local things, food items, and other cool stuff. Lots of Raleigh/Home-type stuff, which I loved. They also sell colorful prints of certain scenes in Raleigh (like the Greenway), which are really great. When it came time to order, I got the Country Breakfast with scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, mini biscuits, and fruit. My roommates got the Pulled Pork Hash, another Country Breakfast, and the French Toast. This was the first time I tried grits....and I'm officially a believer. They were flavorful but not heavy. The rest of the Country breakfast was great too -- I nice simple breakfast/brunch. My roommates thoroughly enjoyed their French Toast and Pulled Pork Hash, too. The menu selection for brunch isn't huge, but there's a good enough mix of stuff so it's okay. The French Toast is the only brunch item without an egg component, though, so if you're not into eggs (like one of my roommates), your selection is quite limited. We didn't order them, but they had mimosas, screwdrivers, and bloody marys for $5 each! I saw a few people sitting near us order some and they looked pretty good. There was a bit of a wait to get our food delivered to our table, but it seemed like this wasn't common at NOFO. We overheard the waitress saying that they were understaffed today. Plus, this place is very popular so we weren't expecting to get our food instantaneously anyways. Overall this is a great place for brunch! Plus the market is fun to stroll around in. I haven't tried the lunch yet, but I'm looking forward to the day that I do!

Yelp
My first trip to NOFO was a good one. My girlfriend and another couple went there on a Saturday night by chance without a reservation and were lucky enough to get a table. The environment is certainly unique. My girlfriend and I started with the pork sliders which I enjoyed, but if you aren't an Eastern NC BBQ fan (vinegar based w/coleslaw) I'd skip them. I got the special which was Catfish which was very good. My only criticism I have was my general complaint with many restaurants in Raleigh; the service was slow. If you are in the mood for southern food in a laid-back atmosphere, check this place out.
