"Nok by Alara stands out in the Lagos restaurant scene when it comes to both the aesthetics and the menu. The bright red walls pop against almost any outfit, making it a perfect backdrop for an Instagram, and the dishes on offer include some of the best jollof rice and amala, as well as options with Northern Nigerian influences. Try the jollof rice with beef dambu nama and beef suya."

The 19 Best Restaurants in Lagos, Nigeria - Eater

"Alara is a high-end African fashion brand that has expanded its luxury aesthetic to African cuisine via its fine dining restaurants, NOK and NOK Garden. Chef Pierre Thiam is behind dishes like abula, which it only serves on Thursdays. Abula is a more luxurious version of amala, a light brown or black fluffy meal made from cassava or yam flour. Also in the service offering is thiebou jenn, the Senegalese version of Nigerian jollof, served with a generous portion of flavourful steamed onions. [$$$ - $$$$]" - Kay Ugwuede

Time management needs improvement as there are more customers in the queue waiting for their orders. The restaurant requires additional staff to complete tasks on time and save customers time.

Very interesting touch on local recipes. Atmosphere is amazing, especially with that neighbour boutique store. You can find something to eat for everyone - there is choice of meat, fish, vegs, drinks of all sorts. Recommend to go with a big company, and enjoy the candlelit evening

Nok is complicated. Settings are very nice, clean and classy. Service is ok. But food, gosh, what a disappointment! Their Nok Chapman was good, well balanced fruit savour, not too sugary. The avocado salad was good as well but nothing like woww. Then it started to deteriorate. The duck starter with mango sauce was disappointing. Just a meat pie. The duck is shredded and overcooked, no real seasoning. It doesn't taste anymore duck but overcooked meat. It could be beef or anything. 27000 naira for meat pie: nope ! Then the oxtail... What should I say... Basically rice and stew. Buy oxtail, cook it slowly for 1-2 h then add in an ordinary oily nigerian stew. And serve with sticky "jasmine rice". DISAPPOINTING ! I was expecting a grande cuisine experience of inventive african cuisine. Instead, I fell in an expensive street buka. Avoid.

Food was really tasty and spicy. Beef was a little under seasoned but the stew was really nice

NOK by Alara ateeeeee 👏👏👏👏 Lovely ambience, aesthetically pleasing and brilliant use of colors💯 The use of plants to enrich the environment creates a stunning first impression, making the surroundings feel inviting and beautiful right away. I love that the colorful umbrellas provides perfect shelter from the sun while adding a touch of style to the space. The Space offers the option of indoor and outdoor eating. It's easy to locate and there is free parking space. Came here for the Abula (Amala, Gbegiri and Ewedu) and Nok did not disappoint 👏👏👏💯💯💯 I'll def be back soon as l've not been able to get the deliciousness of the food out of my mind 😁 The assorted meat were properly cook and soft, no struggle at all. I had the Extracted tea and i love the thoughtfulness behind it because it contains fruits and herbs to help cleans the immune system. The Tea pot is so cute 🍵🫖 Chefs and staffs were awesome and the service was very professional.

I had a nice Sunday Brunch here with family. The security team is quite coordinated in ensuring parking is seemless. There's parking within and outside the compound. There are two entrances to the indoor restaurant, one through the side of the building, and the other through the back of the building that takes you through the super colorful outdoor dinning area. The seating area is made up of vibrant colours of different seating areas, sun umbrellas and greenery. If choosing here, be sure to be comfortable with nature as we spotted some friendly lizards around. It was too hot to sit outside so we dined indoors. Compared to the splash of colours outside, the indoor dining area was a cool and calm decor of black and brown. Customer service was great. We felt the menu given to us was quite a narrow range of choices but we were told that was the brunch menu so appears they may have other menus for different times of the day. From the menu, you see this is like a Nigerian fusion cuisine, and each dish was well plated, and tasted really good. If there for brunch, I strongly recommend the Agege toast with honey and fresh fruits and the coconut pancakes. For mains, we had the suya chicken steak with eggs, veggies and agege bread. The steak was the hallmark of the day! Also had the peanut crusted chicken that came with sweet potato pancakes, loved loved loved the pancakes. Last order was the a peanut crusted chicken sandwich that came out like a burger with some cabbage, sauce and fried yam, seemed to be a popular order but came third for us when grading the three mains we got. We had the Passion Sunrise and NOK chapman mocktails. A member of our party said the palmwine in his Palmey Temple was not so fresh but the pink colour did look appetizing. It was overall a great experience and look forward to a repeat.

Quiet place to chill at night. Has both outdoors and indoor seating areas. Ambience has a native African vibe. The menu echoes similar vibes with mixture of intercontinental and local dishes. My friend had the seafood okro which looked good. I had the braised ribs with jasmine rice. The stew has a sweet aftertaste so it really shouldn't be paired with a sweet rice like jasmine because you get tired of it after a few mouthfuls. Cocktails were delightful. Overall, good place.

A pretty space. The food is great and the service is amazing. Recommend for a cozy date (can be crowded) or a solo date
