Where to Savor New Orleans’s Best Shrimp and Grits - Eater New Orleans

"Emeril’s barbecue shrimp is legend at all his restaurants and with good reason. But nola chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri also has his way with some shrimp and grits, a memorable mash up that includes perfectly seasoned blue corn grits, smoked mushrooms and bits of stewed eggplant and skillet tomatoes. Just another reminder that this sleeper hit in the Quarter on Saint Louis is at the top of its game." - Beth D'Addono

I am sure when everything goes right this place is much better. The dining room is showing some wear and tear. The room divider on the second floor has been hit with chairs so many times it is cracked. The chairs were well used. The wait staff did not seem very well trained, and downright rude to each other. They were friendly with the guests, but something felt off. The food was good. We had a variety of tasty dishes, but nothing stood out as exceptional. There are too many other good restaurants around - I would not go back.

Continuing my series of reviews of my time in The French Quarter: We stopped in at NOLA for lunch, and we a very enjoyable experience. We were able to make a reservation online before arriving in New Orleans which was very convenient when planning our visit to The French Quarter. The jambalaya was excellent! It is a huge portion. You better come very hungry or bring back-up to help you finish. They had a great wine selection, I highly recommend ordering the gator bites. Enjoy!

I've been to this restaurant twice and had amazing experiences. The first time was 6 years ago when I had one of the best meal's of my life here. The second was a few weeks ago where I again had a fantastic meal. Every time someone I know is going to New Orleans this is the number one place I recommend, in fact I tell them they MUST find the time to go here. I've never had anything but exceptional food here and everyone I've been with and recommended it to has enjoyed themselves as well. The next time I'm back in New Orleans NOLA will once again be my first stop!

Good food and the pricing is descent, but I had betters. We enjoyed the server, Sheryl, which was super happy and nice. As is said, the food was OK but other than the local Creole flavors, didn't feel too special (the fillet of the beef was ordered medium rare, but was provided medium well. It was too salty. The surrounding was really good. Mushroom, sauce... The desert we took was really special. Not something we ever tasted before.

The best meal that I had in New Orleans. This place is great. It is a little intimidating if you did not pack nicer clothes. This definitely isn't a "stumble in off bourbon street" restaraunt. I was under dressed in a casual button up and nice jeans. Staff welcomed me anyways. I had the fried chicken and Mac and cheese. It was incredible. Would recommend if you are looking for upscale in the french quarter.

This was my first time visiting one of Emeril’s restaurant. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday afternoon with having no wait at all. The first server who took our order was very attentive in the beginning with taking our order and answering any questions we had. Then he kind of disappeared and the second one took over word serving the entrees and the rest of the meal service. I ordered the andouille sausage pizza. The pizza was really good and full of flavor. I also ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert, skip dessert and save your money it’s nothing special to be desired.

NOLA is a MUST to go to during happy hour. They have great well drinks for a discounted price and the food specials were just as awesome. The pizza was super good, we loved the gator bites and the boudin balls were super unique to be cooked inside of bread. Excellent!!!

Really good restaurant. Very good service. We tried the pizza Quattro with extra garlic, it was amazing. New Orleans Frog Legs, first for me, but delicious as it looks. Corn Bread and Collards good. Excellent Sangria, must try. The only reason I give NOLA a 3 star is because as a top restaurant and not having change table in the restroom is not acceptable. It threw us off big time.
