Chinese Food in Long Beach (2025)
Nomad Asian Bistro

Google
Amazing and pleasant experience. I was pleased that they offer halal food. Looks like the place is very popular and people do not hesitate to travel an hour from any direction to eat. The fact that we ate on a Thursday and was pretty packed. I like king pao chicken a lot. Keep it up guys

Nomads is always top tier. NEVER fails, one of the if not the best spot in Long Beach. Coming here with a big group is always a must and you never always have enough food to go around. This is one of the few spots that reminds me of times during my childhood, when every restaurant offered top tier food, service, portions, everyone was kind, the atmosphere felt kind, warm and lively. The food tastes stupendously amazing. The service here always goes above and beyond. Overall 110/10. The only thing you'll need is more space for the food to fit onto. 😅

Google
Bustling lively atmosphere in a spacious restaurant with space outside where a group prayed the sunset prayer with rugs available for that. Alhamdulillah, the food had a distinct, original, authentic flavor and was delicious — every bite. Wonton soup. Mixed dumplings. Honey ginger chicken. Filet mignon beef with black pepper. Didn’t order drinks or dessert. Kids received complimentary Sprites. I think if they must play something on their TV, it should be consistent with the theme / culture / cuisine of the restaurant. Didn’t like that John Hughes movies were on the screen when I looked up from my plate… Overall, highly recommended.

Google
Unassuming restaurant in a quiet corner of a pretty sparse mall; the kind of place that you'd walk past and not notice it. I'm sure glad to have found this place! We came here during the lunch hours and they serve lunch specials 7 days a week! While we were browsing the menu, one of the wait staff came over and checked on us if we were ready and asked if it was our first time there (yes). She recommended getting a couple of items from the lunch menu if we like to have a few dishes since the portions are pretty big and the lunch items get you the most bang out of your buck. Very sound advice! The lunch menu featured a good selection of dishes and we ended getting the honey walnut shrimp, filet mignon with black pepper sauce and kung pao three flavor (beef, chicken, shrimp). Each dish came with a soup and either white/brown rice or upgrade to egg fried rice. We got the egg drop soup as well as the hot sour soup and they were both tasty! We upgraded the egg fried rice and wow... quite impressed with the egg fried rice here. I was expecting the usual plain, white, mild egg fried rice but what came out was a brown-ish looking egg fried rice that's just so tasty! Of course the main dishes themselves were also outstanding! I really liked the juiciness and black pepper flavor of the filet mignon, the crispness of the walnut shrimp and the umami of the kung pao three flavor. I definitely would recommend each one of these dishes. We also got the fresh pressed ginger ale, which is the perfect, refreshing thirst quencher! Tasty food and great service.. what's not to like!

Google
The worst place to have food, the service was horrible, the food came out in stages and our kids stayed hungry for 15 min waiting for noodles after we already finished our food. No one came to check on us, they just dumped the food and left. We had party of 20 and the place was not even busy yet the the service and the food was below standard Chinese takeout. Save your time and money and order takeout from any Chinese restaurant.

Google
Save your money and don’t come here 😅. The water tastes straight up from the sink. The chili oil is bad. The iced green tea is not that great either. I ordered the salt and pepper seafood. These tasted like they did not batter them properly like still a bit floury on some pieces. Some pieces were fine and others had too much salt and pepper. Although it wasn’t that great I was working on finishing my plate until I found a hair in the sauce that comes with it 🥲. I mentioned it to the waitress but she didn’t seem to care and just brought a new sauce. I lost my appetite after that so 💁‍♀️. My husband and mother in law ordered the beef noodle soup. It was pretty much tasteless. The only good thing about the soup was that the beef was soft. Only pros: easy to find parking, can accommodate strollers if they do not have a full house. Cons: food tastes terrible, waiter can take a long time to take your order. They don’t stop often to stop by and see if there’s anything wrong. Women’s restroom does not have a diaper changing station. My stomach has already started hurting and I just left the restaurant 🙃.

Google
I like their Mongolian beef. If you go there during lunch time from 11-4 pm(except holiday) you can get lunch menu. Main dish, come with rice and soup options.

Google
I visited Nomad Chinese with my family during a trip to LA, looking for halal Chinese food. After a 30-40 minute wait on Christmas Day, we finally got a table. The service was slow—our waiter arrived after 10-12 minutes, and the food came in 3-4 installments after another long delay. We specifically asked if they could make a couple of dishes gluten-free. The waiter confidently said “yes, no issues.” However, when the food arrived, we discovered that not all items were gluten-free—confirmed later by the kitchen supervisor. This miscommunication was frustrating, especially since their website claims to cater to dietary needs. The food was fully halal and above average, but the poor service, lack of attention to food allergies, and inaccurate website information left us disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re desperate for halal Chinese food with no other options. It’s overhyped and not worth the wait.

Yelp
We love going to Nomad for our big family dinners. They are so great about reserving a large table to accommodate our family, usually at least 10 people. The restaurant is busy and bustling, but we are still able to have conversations at the table. The food comes out quickly and accurately. They are able to accommodate additional orders within a reasonable amount of time and we never leave hungry for sure! Everyone is friendly and helpful. Make sure you get the walnut shrimp (YUM) and the ginger beer drink (TASTY)!! We have not had anything that doesn't taste fresh and "homemade". We are looking forward to visiting again in December!!

Yelp
Ambiance: it's a family style restaurant with spacious indoor and outdoor dining area, and located in the shared plaza with ample parking available Service: very friendly staff although a bit slow, once you receive the bill, you need to pay at the counter Food: variety choices on their menu, proteins including beef, lamb, chicken, and shrimp Hot & Sour Soup - **** chicken, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tofu, egg, spicy and sour, recommend NOMAD Short Ribs - *** marinated short ribs, wok-tossed with roasted garlic, scallions, dry red chilies, meat tasted old and a bit dry Kung Pao Three Flavors - **** shrimp, chicken, beef, roasted peanuts, scallions, dry red chili, in a kung pao sauce, rich in flavors, recommend Egg Fried Rice - **** steamed rice stir fried with egg, fresh scallions, soy seasoning, recommend Brown Rice - *** average Price: generous portions and reasonable prices for their decent quality, expect $25 per person for a full filing meal

Yelp
Long Beach: Easy parking in this sizable attractive restaurant with an extensive menu of flavorsome Chinese food using the freshest of ingredients. I recommend eating here with a herd so you can try more dishes. It was just two of us so it was hard to narrow it down without reinforcements. Caramelized Black Pepper Chicken: So tender with a sauce that was drinkable. We tried. It was a toss up between that and the Filet Mignon. Next time we will go in beef mode. We both took home plenty of leftovers. Scallion pancakes: Four massive pieces of deliciousness. Oily on the fingers/worth it. I recommend a minimum of four people or it's going to follow you home as well. Service was immediate and personable. The food came out timely and piping hot. We were there around 8 PM on a Monday so it was fairly quiet. For the size of this restaurant, I could see it getting very busy and loud/Still worth it. It seemed as though we were the only ones who did not order the sesame flatbread. Yes, I do visual food cruises incognito. Again, we'll just have to bring hungry reinforcements next time. No alcohol, but no shortage of places for beer and spirits nearby. BevMo is a neighbor.

Yelp
Our family favorite local Chinese Restaurant! We love the food. High quality and generous portions! Best Hot & Sour Soup around (my very favorite soup!). We enjoy dining in and you can't beat their lunch specials, served until 4pm and 7 days (excluding holidays). We also do take out often especially if our adult son joins us for dinner. No matter dine in or take out, always leftovers that we enjoy for future meals. Foid that repeats very well! Flavors stay intact! Tonight we ordered take-out. Their new online system in very easy to use (Beyond Menu). You can only select pick-up ASAP (I put in comments the time we expected to pick-up) and you pay when you pick-up, not online. Worked great. Food is always pound hot when we pick-up to go ordered, packed in containers to keep the food hot. Staff is always friendly and very nice! Parking is a breeze!

Yelp
Came here for dinner around 8:45pm last Friday since my friends and I were working on a project nearby. Surprisingly they still let us dine in and the restaurant still remained open with other new customers coming in as we were eating. We were immediately seated and the server was really kind. We were a group of 5 and I definitely did not expect the portion sizes... they were HUGE! It's hard to tell in my pictures but trust me! All of the food was so delicious and flavorful, it's hard to choose a favorite. Everything came out to be steaming hot. It was roughly $20 per dish but the price is WORTH it considering it was very much shareable family style. We had leftovers for 2 days! Definitely would come back here again!!

Yelp
Yum!!!! I came here after my family raved about eating here during a trip to SoCal. We got plenty of things, including a chicken dish, beef dish, wontons, egg rolls, and fried rice. Everything was so delicious and portions were HUGE. Service and ambience were great. Really appreciate how they cater to their Muslim customers, as they have prayer rugs for you to utilize while there. A definite must-try for all those who eat halal!

Yelp
Nomad Asian Bistro is by far one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Although I feel that it verges on Indo Chinese. I've been a regular there since at least 2017. It is located near PCH and Second Street in Long Beach, a couple hundred feet from BevMo, in the Same Plaza. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. It is a Mother-Daughter owned restaurant and was established in 2013. Jamilla Ma, the mother has an extensive experience in Asian cooking and a passion for combining classic flavors with contemporary techniques. They offer Asian cuisine with influences from China's Hui culture and a focus on fresh, handmade items like their Thin Sesame Flatbread. It is also the only Halal Chinese Restaurant in North America. So, they do not serve pork nor do they offer alcoholic beverages. The quality of their food draws people from all corners of SoCal and beyond. Dinner is always the busiest time and during the month of Ramadan, you can expect to wait an hour or more unless you show up an hour before breaking fast. The restaurant is spacious but yet Cozy. The lighting is comfortable and the earth tones on the walls as well as the simple Chinese decor makes the space very inviting. The setting is casual and family friendly. Noise level is moderate to very loud depending on the day and time. They have a large Tv on the wall with close caption that no one watches. They only serve family style meals. So, it is best to go with 2 or more people or take the family or a group of friends. Otherwise you may have lots of left overs. Every dish is large enough for 2-3 people. On a summer night, I Love sitting on their open air patio that is lit by string lights, while sharing a meal with friends and family under the stars. I could not start by describing the amazing menu. It is extensive and has every Chinese food dish imaginable. Beef, chicken, seafood, vegetarian, rice dishes, hand made noodles and endless combinations and flavors. I'm sure that I'm missing some things. (See pictures for actual full menu) They use the freshest ingredients and everything is made in house. They also have some delicious beverages such as the fresh pressed Ginger ale and their seasonal Peach Ice tea. The List goes on. Some of My favorite items on the Menu are the Hot and sour soup which is full of mushrooms, The orange chicken, The Pineapple fried rice with beef chicken and shrimp, The Pepper Mushroom beef and the chili Chicken. Everything is so delicious. The hand made noodles are a must. The service has always been great and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Nomad Asian Bistro for anyone who has not tried them yet. Happy Eating!!!

Yelp
In a desolate forgotten area surrounded by newness. I read something along those lines on Yelp which guided me here. Had been meaning to go here after a friend told me they had gluten free Chinese marked on their menu. I went with my teenager and his friends. We each ordered a lunch special which came with a choice of soup. We all got egg drop, which had little veggies in it. I think that's a first. It was very good. And then we shared family style. For me this was a blessed experience because we could share and I never eat Chinese food because it's not worth being poisoned. The staff was both friendly and attentive. They had a robot that carried the dishes out- to mostly our table. Seemed to be programmed to our section which was cute. Oh, there's more food for us! J/k We had leftovers and we loved it all.

Yelp
Nomad is our go to Asian restaurant in Long Beach. We've been coming here for years but finally decided to do a review. They have options to accommodate different dietary needs, such as Halal, gluten free and vegetarian. Some of our favorites are honey walnut shrimp, black bean sole filet, scallion pancakes, fried rice and spicy green beans. For drinks they have a legit Thai tea, really good fresh pressed ginger ale and Diet Coke (yay for the fountain!). The restaurant has a big dining area and can accommodate big parties (get a reservation). During the day, you can sit outside. They also make prayer rugs available.

Yelp
We were seated quickly even though the restaurant was busy. The food came out quick and everything we ordered was delicious!! I was craving honey walnut shrimp and remembered having it here and thinking it was so tasty!! Homemade chow main with hand-pulled noodles were so delicious!! Filet mignon in black pepper sauce is melt in your mouth tender and so flavorful. Definitely worth trying when you want Chinese food! Better to come in a group to share entrees since the portions are very generous. Will definitely be back! Thank you for this delicious meal!!

Yelp
This is a busy restaurant that has Asian food. The surface was very good. We had two entrées and rice. The fried rice was way better. They put out a picture of a sweater and give you glasses and didn't even ask if you wanted to order a soda or anything else like that. I thought that was unusual for a restaurant. They were serving the entrées before the rice came out. It didn't come together. There was a lot of food, very generous portions.

Yelp
It's easy to see why this spot has over a thousand reviews and maintains a solid four-star rating--the food is genuinely high quality; I gave it five stars! While the shopping complex it's located in has clearly seen better days and could use a serious facelift, don't let that deter you. The exterior may not be well-maintained, but this is a must try spot. First off, there's plenty of parking, largely due to several nearby stores being closed. Once inside, the vibe was lively. A decent crowd was enjoying their meals, and a couple of TVs were playing Disney movies on Freeform, adding a relaxed, nostalgic touch. Despite it being a busy afternoon, the staff did their best to stay attentive. One small note: the water wasn't ice cold, but still refreshingly cooler than room temperature. Their lunch specials, priced around $15-$18, are a solid deal and is available everyday. Each comes with their daily soup--today's was Hot and Sour, which was more flavorful than most of its type--and a choice of white or brown rice. I recommend upgrading to the Egg Fried Rice for an extra $2; it's absolutely worth it. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Shrimp and the Short Ribs, the latter being the must-try based on rave Yelp photos. The short ribs were bold and peppery, prepared in a slightly unconventional style, but I really enjoyed them. Surprisingly though, the Sweet and Sour Shrimp stole the show for me. Lightly crispy and coated in a perfectly balanced sauce, pairing beautifully with my Egg Fried Rice. With so many tempting dishes still to try, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
11/30/25 Have been coming here for years and the food was halal and ok. I came last week and found out the owners had changed, I came again today and again the food was amazing and the portions are great. I used to leave hungry but today was left full with left overs. I commend the new owners, if you continue to run the business like this you will be a great success

Yelp
The rating was really high and so my husband and I had to check it out ourselves. It was tucked in a corner along PCH and second street in a strip mall where Bevmo is located. There were a bunch of people blocking the entrance and we thought there was a line around lunch time. Well, these were people just waiting or hanging out . As we got in I was disappointed right away with the disorder set up of the dining hall. I was thinking of something ethnic and really good decor but No -- chairs and table were just all over the place. There was no decor to make the place look pleasant. I even used the bathroom and it looked dirty. They didnt take the time to make the place look good for the customers to enjoy. As for the food, I was expecting something different from the other Chinese restaurants we've been to based on the reviews. It was flat--- meaning they can do better. Nothing extraordinary. However, I would say we loved their brown rice. That was different. It was like a Korean purple rice. The area where it is located is close to the ocean with nearby fancy stores which can justify the asking price of the food. Therefore if you are looking for Asian food in this area, it would be a good choice.

Yelp
This place is always amazing. It's a sit down family restaurant. My mom was looking for a halal restaurant serving Chinese food. The service is always top notch !!!

Yelp
Food Nomad short ribs - These had good flavor but the meat was chewy. 3.7/5 Sweet and sour soup - A solid soup that had a very light spice. Chicken was moderately tender. 4/5 Garlic and jalapeno chicken - Great first bite but diminishing returns due to a one note flavor - spicy garlic. 3.8/5 Honey Walnut shrimp - The best I've had. The most tender and perfectly seasoned shrimp with a light glaze and excellent honey walnuts. 4.8/5 Service Our waiter was great, an asian person with short hair. 4.5/5 Atmosphere Not my vibe, personally. Very traditional casual asian restaurant. 3/5 Tl;dr - Come here for the honey walnut shrimp, it's delicious.

Yelp
Excellent Halal Chinese food! We come here for group dinners, family style eating. We get stuffed every time because the portions are so large. Great for groups because the dining room is so large and the tables can be reconfigured in any which way. I have never had to wait to be seated because the dining room is so large with so many tables. Highly recommend the handmade noodle options. I have been here over 15 times, and I have hardly ever ordered the same thing twice, and considering that we have still never had a bad dish. Everything on the menu is great. Favorite dishes would include the sesame flatbread, Szechuan Beef Stew Noodle Soup, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the Basil Eggplant.

Yelp
We went for dinner. Food was awesome! We had won ton soup with shrimp, orange chicken and shrimp with lobster sauce. Big portions so we had lots left over to take home. Service was outstanding. Food arrived pretty quickly. I have to say we really enjoyed everything but the standout was the soup. So flavor-full. Looking forward to our next visit. Normally we get takeout but it was nice to eat-in.

Yelp
Overall very good Chinese restaurant. Like all restaurants in the 2nd Street and PCH area, the entrees are pricey. About $21-$22 per, and that's for low end stuff like Kung Pow Chicken. Higher for other entrees.
google avatar

Russ L.

Yelp
Food and service are great, take-out or dine-in. Lunch specials are offered 11am-4pm with generous portions and reasonably priced (most around $15). We had a late lunch today with enough leftovers for another meal or two! We love their Hot & Sour Soup. The Mongolian Beef is tender, flavorful and just the right amount of heat.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't given Nomad's a review. It is literally my go-to restaurant in Long Beach! The food is absolutely delicious and they give you HUGE portions. Some of the dishes I've tried: -honey walnut shrimp - 9/10; these are easily the best honey walnut shrimp I've ever had and they give you so many -cumin lamb - 10/10; this is such a unique flavor, and the depth of flavor is something you must experience (order rice with it) -shrimp fried rice - 10/10 literally the best shrimp fried rice you will ever have. The texture of the rice is perfect, the shrimp aren't overcooked. It's lovely -I've also had the curry fried rice and also super delicious 9/10, very unique flavor to it -chili wonton 10/10 - it's so damn good. So refreshing. You'll want to put the sauce on everything (we put the sauce on the curry fried rice and it took it up another level) -shrimp chow fun 10/10; I love it. Their noodles are perfect. -salt and pepper fish 9/10; definitely get rice with it to soak up the sauce -short ribs: 9/10; such a great marinade on those things! -honey glazed wings 8.5/10; great flavor, perfect cook on the wings -vegetarian egg rolls: 8/10 these are really good, they taste like a typical egg roll -chicken egg roll 8.5/10 these are great. They're very big. Comes with a hot mustard that I love Drinks: the tai iced tea is great but get the ginger drink for something refreshing and unique. I could drink that every day Service: they can get really busy so sometimes they are on the run, but Mary is my girl!!! She will take care of you no matter what! Everyone has always been extremely kind to me, even when they are busy. (Remember they get very busy with takeout orders too, they're not just working the tables in the restaurant). You can eat inside or outside which is lovely. And they're very fast for takeout orders, just call ahead. I love Nomads and every visitor that I have brought to eat at Nomads, always asks to go back when they visit again.

Yelp
The restaurant is basic when it comes to ambiance. After that we get to the menu and service. The menu is expansive, offering many wonderful options. The staff is attentive, making sure your meal is to your liking. Pricing is very nice. This restaurant is a nice place, with good food and very good service.

Yelp
We happened to be in the area and decided to stop by somewhere nearby (as in, the same plaza) for lunch. Was very skeptical as I usually check Yelp & Google before I dine out anywhere, and the lack of recent reviews initially deterred me, but we committed and had no regrets! Everything was solid. The servers were so, so nice and food was served quickly. We got 2 lunch specials and the portion sizes were very generous. I got the orange chicken lunch special w/ steamed rice and hot & sour soup. I loved all of it! The chicken is crunchy which I prefer over places that serve it softer. The chilis are chopped up and spicy, and only if you bite into them. You won't taste it unless you purposely pick up a huge piece and chew on it. It looked just like in the Yelp/Google pictures. Bf got the Nomad short ribs lunch special and said he really enjoyed them. He dislikes soup, but loved his egg flower soup (I tried it and totally agree). He said it's personally the best he's had out of places we've been (Yang Chow, KPB, Brea/Rowland areas). Posted a pic of the short rib bc it's not mentioned in any recent reviews :) Also if you're ordering takeout, do consider experiences can vastly vary (even the best place's xiao long bao, or even orange chicken, cannot keep to its standard when placed in a takeout container depending on how hot it is at the time it's put in).

Yelp
Good customer service. Just okay Chinese food. I have had better. Too much breading in chicken. Ginger lemonade was good though. Trust.

Yelp
We went here for an early dinner. We were seated promptly, and the service was fast. Everyone is very friendly. There are plenty of options on the menu for everyone. The food is delicious every time we come here. I would say the highlight of our meal this time were the beef rolls and spicy curry fried rice. I would highly recommend coming here. You can't go wrong with anything you choose off the menu.

Yelp
My favorite Chinese food restaurant, hands-down Nomads Asian Bistro is a true gem for those seeking Halal fresh meat options. Their commitment to quality shines through in every dish, with flavorful ingredients that cater to diverse palates. The service is impeccable, with attentive staff who ensure a pleasant dining experience. Convenient parking adds to the overall convenience, while the pricing is fair and reflective of the exceptional quality offered. Whether you're a Halal food enthusiast or simply craving delicious Asian cuisine, Nomads Asian Bistro is a must-try! It can get a bit crowded with a wait sometimes, but never to noisy the ambience is a vibe.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite eating spots in Long beach. It's great for large parties. The service and food is good. Be sure to get their fresh ginger drink. Very refreshing and helps digestion.

Yelp
Theeeee best tasting Chinese food in the area. Ambiance would be best described as your typical Chinese restaurant. Fast moving food runners, bustling atmosphere and great tasting fare. Huge plus? They are HALAL. Highly recommend: - honey garlic chicken - everyone's favorite... orange chicken - general tso chicken - nomad short ribs - ummmm everything? And to wash it all down.. their refreshing fresh pressed ginger ale (kind of like a ginger beer sparkling water) Great family size portions. Enough to enjoy at the restaurant and plenty more to take home for the next day. Must try. Located behind what used to be Claim Jumper in a large parking lot.

Yelp
Dined in here for the first time and loved the food and the friendly service. The nice lady who took our order was extremely helpful, should've taken her advice to order Chilli chicken instead of Crispy Garlic Jalepeno chicken which was fried and quite chewey in texture, but the sauce was flavorful and delicious She did mention Chilli chicken is the same flavor and steamed with soft texture and people usually prefer that, but I had to "learn it the hard way" ( Pun definitely Intended lol) Egg fried rice was spot on with the flavor, and thai ice tea was yum, would've loved some boba in it! Big shout out to the friendly staff, keep up the cheerful service,, we will definitely return soon! Note to self: always listen to the timely advice of the waitress, she knows better!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Most importantly for me, this is a casual restaurant with an extensive American Chinese menu, the vast majority of which is gluten-free. The staff is trained in food allergies and can give informed advice. The food is delicious and crafted with care and affection. My girlfriend is vegetarian and has an extensive menu to choose from, all of which she's enjoyed so far. In addition, this restaurant is Halal and serves the local Muslim community, especially families. They have prayer rugs and other amenities. This means that the ambiance is especially delightful; the space is full of kids and adults socializing and enjoying the food. Indoor and outdoor seating; plenty of parking. It's a bit hard to find, so do use a map program. I'll be back.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Absolutely incredible food, served by excellent wait staff. Ambience isn't romantic but it's not meant to be. It's truly a gem.....highly recommend it!

Yelp
Always great! I've been here many times over the years and the food is excellent, service is good, family style ambiance and it's a place I will always come back to. Now they have dessert! Pistachio cheesecake! It was delicious!

Yelp
Dear Nomad Asian Bistro, What a amazing place to come out in the LBC area to try. The beef rolls are amazing and I have come more than once for them. Spicy beef is yummy here, asparagus is very good here but I would have liked it more cooked. The short ribs are nicely made but they are not the star kept going for rolls. Service is okay here, I felt like the servers are not treating us with respect and would rather treat those whom come in as a "american" normal family look. So lacking in this for sure. Ambiance is off, it looks like the place is not completely finished built or something. So I am not sure how to say things here. I was fine with our table and seats just seemed like inside and outside did not have to look the same.

Yelp
Tried this place multiple times and I still love it!!! It's like a higher end of Chinese restaurants! The foods were amazing! Very delicious. The service was nice too. The dishes aren't greasy and very flavorful. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! My favorites so far are the basil eggplant, chicken curry, and tofu and shiitake mushrooms. Overall, I would recommend this place!!!

Yelp
I've been here when it was owned my a lady named Jamillah but after she sold it ...it's just has gotten downhill to the point where I hate to say but I will not return. It's exciting when there is a halal restaurant for those of us who only eat Halal. However this place is an incredible disappointment not just because of the vulgar music blasting, the terrible quality of food, but my main concern was the filthy condition of the kitchen. They had left the back door open and I got a glimpse! From the flies dancing and sitting on the "handmade noddles" that were left to air dry by the garbage, to the dirty pile of dishes everywhere, spilled food on the floor, and an open stinky bag of garbage just laying on the floor ...and to top it off there was a sign on the door that they were sited for unsanitary conditions recently. They have the words halal pasted on their doors and menu but when I asked for the certification they couldn't provide me with one. The rotten cherry on top of all this pile of yuck...they unashamedly sell BOYCOTTED products. Never again.

Yelp
This is a halal Chinese restaurant. I was told they had the best hot and sour soup. I went thinking it would be good, I didn't expect to leave believing it was the best hot and sour soup I'd ever had. Garlic chicken - they use thigh meat and the garlic sauce is subtle. Beef rolls - cucumber and beef with a tangy sauce wrapped in the sesame bread. I started out by eating it like a burrito and ended the last few bites mixing it on my plate with the other dishes. I took the leftover and had it the next day and it was still delicious. Season flat bread - if you had this with just one entree shared it would be enough. I dream about this bread. It tears like a croissant but it's chewy and the flavor makes it perfect for any dish you're eating. I mixed it with the chicken and I used it to dip in my soup as well. Hot and sour soup - I don't know if it's the halal chicken but this soup heals. They're generous with the chicken and tofu and the soup is thick without being heavy. I finished a large bowl with just one other person. I wish this restaurant was a chain and had a spot closer to me but I will drive the half hour to eat here often.

Yelp
My coworker had told me about Nomad Asian Bistro, so decided to check it out. I had no idea there was a Chinese restaurant so close by! The restaurant is somewhat hidden in the back of the plaza but is fairly large. The interior is a bit worn (peeling paint on the wall, cracked tables), but service was okay. The menu is large and even has Chinese (always a good sign). There is a mix of Americanized as well as authentic dishes. The portion sizes are quite good for the price, and even the lunch special entree size was big (came with large bowl of white rice + cup of soup). The sesame bread (芝麻薄餅) was delicious, as well as the string beans, basil eggplant, and honey walnut shrimp. The two soup/noodle soup dishes were just okay for me, and the handmade noodles in particular were disappointing (expected them to be much chewier). Overall, a large menu and great value for the price. Would return for sure!

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant over 10 times. I can say that this is the best Chinese food that I have ever had. I have pretty much tried everything on their menu, and all items have a lot of flavor. The staff are really nice here and are very helpful and patient with people who are there for the first time. I've never been disappointed when coming to this place. This is a great place to come with your family. The portions are family-sized, so you will have leftovers. The ambiance is not all fancy, but the facility is clean. This is a must-try. I recommend this place 100%.

Yelp
I got the mushroom black pepper chicken and the flavor was good but the food was SWIMMING in oil. There was a normal amount of sauce in the container and then about 1/3 cup of oil. It was hard to tell in the black container, so I poured the sauce out into a clear container and the first half was just pure oil. It was so separated that it feels like they poured the oil on top after putting it in the to go container? The scallion pancake also was COVERED in oil. Way beyond the normal cooking oil. Again, it felt like they lathered it in oil after cooking. However, we ordered through door dash and the food was just as hot as I would expect if I was dining in. Which is why I'm willing to give 2 stars.

Yelp
My husband and I have wanted to eat here for years. We finally ate here yesterday. We each ordered the lunch special which came with soup, an entree and a side of rice. The price was reasonable for what things cost these days. The soup came out quick as did the rest of our meal. The food was good although there was a very distinct taste in the beef dish that I didn't care for. Some sort of spice they used. I asked the waitress what it could be but she didn't know... I'm not sure if they are using a lot of MSG or what but during our meal my husband and I immediately started feeling really tired and kind of icky. Not that the food tasted bad/was old but something they put in it got to us. I'm not sure that we will go back due to the reason I mentioned above. If we did, we would definitely try something different.

Yelp
The first time I came to Nomads was before pandemic, with coworkers. So I was excited to come back here today for an anniversary lunch for my coworker. We arrived around 1145am and were greeted right away and then immediately seated. The staff was attentive and we were able to order our food as soon as our doctor arrived. What I love about Nomads is the family style portion size, so everyone can share . We each ordered off the Lunch specials on the back of the menu. Prices range from $14.50-16.50 and you get the soup day, rice( brown, white, fried for an extra $2) and a nice big entree dish! We ordered the Egg drop soup, scallion pancakes, orange chicken, garlic honey chicken, honey walnut shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli. Our soup arrived first, and our entrees didn't take long to come out after that... maybe 10 min or so. Everything was delicious! I also ordered the jasmine green tea (hot) which went perfectly with the food. It never got really crowded but people were consistently coming in since it was during lunch time. The restaurant is a nice size and never feels like your to close to other tables which is nice. I'm happy we were able to come back here and I'll definitely be back, bringing friends and family!

Yelp
Husband and I met a friend here for lunch. The restaurant looks like it's been here forever and I wouldn't recommend it for its ambiance. We ordered off the regular menu since their lamb dishes weren't on the lunch special selection. We ordered sesame flatbread, which came out warm and was delicious. It's like scallion pie, but a little thicker with sesame seeds. The garlic lamb was also a hit, and probably the best of the dishes that we ordered. The spicy string beans were typical stir fried string beans. The pan fried noodles with shrimp was the least favorite dish. The noodles weren't crispy and the dish was flooded with gravy. One of the waiters brought a wrong pan fried noodle dish, and I suspect they took topping off and then put the shrimp on with more gravy. We had leftovers but none of us wanted to take it home. Service was ok after our friend started speaking Cantonese to the waitress. I've had better food in the South Bay and I'm not sure I'd rush back anytime soon.
