15 Places To Eat Phở In NYC

"Nón Lá is a tiny, sparsely-decorated place that should be one of your go-to spots for Vietnamese food in the East Village. Their phở broth leans light, but it’s still packed with plenty of flavor, with notes of star anise and clove. We suggest squeezing in a little lime and hoisin right away. Get the phở with brisket, which is so tender and satisfying that you’ll have to ask how it was prepared." - will hartman, neha talreja, bryan kim, willa moore, carlo mantuano

Nón Lá Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation

"Nón Lá is a tiny, sparsely-decorated place that should be one of your go-to spots for Vietnamese food in the East Village. We wouldn’t bring a huge group here, but it’s perfect for a casual date or some takeout. Start with the minced pork and mushroom steamed rice rolls, then get the phở with brisket. The broth leans light, but it’s still packed with plenty of flavor. Our favorite dish is the lemongrass-marinated grilled chicken that’s a little sweet and nicely-charred. You might want to add on an extra order for the next day." - Kenny Yang

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, January 2022 - Eater NY

"I was so happy to see Vietnamese spot Nón Lá back up and running yesterday after the family-run business temporarily shut down when owner Ronny Nguyen suffered a health emergency at the end of last year (the family started a GoFundMe to help with medical bills here). I swung by and picked up a takeout bowl of the ca kho to, or clay pot salmon ($18) — a necessary shield to combat last night’s stark, chilly weather. Generous chunks of salmon, lined with luxuriously fatty fish skin, floated alongside slices of onion and red and green bell peppers in a dark broth that tasted both sweet and savory thanks to the caramelized soy sauce in the clay pot. By the time I finished eating, I had forgotten all about the bone-chilling cold outdoors. 128 East Fourth Street, near First Avenue, East Village — Erika Adams, deputy editor" - Eater Staff

I am a Vietnamese tourist, this is my first time in New York and I want to find the cuisine here. Surprisingly, there is a Vietnamese restaurant here and I felt great at this restaurant. The taste is exactly like in Vietnam. I ate a lot of dishes during the few days I was in New York. This is a Vietnamese family restaurant and they made me feel very familiar like in Vietnam. Thank you to the waiters at the restaurant, they are very friendly. I understand why this place is highly rated. Everyone should come and try it once.

Google
Welcome place serving good food with reasonable prices. People come and go, to-go orders a lot. Feeling like a family vibes. 🥘🥢❤️The soup noodles with beef was my favorite! The soup was rich with a balanced flavor. ✨Pho had a relatively light taste but u may still taste meat flavor in the soup. Would visit again to try more dishes!

Google
My Vietnamese friend and I were looking for an authentic spot in the city, and we were happy to find this spot! The staff were incredibly sweet to us. For someone trying out new Vietnamese dishes, I absolutely loved it. My friend said it tasted like home. Will definitely be coming back!

Google
The weather was gorgeous and the patio was open. So we capitalized on that :) Service was quick and professional. We ordered the pork bun and bun rieu, both of which were delicious. But the star of the show was actually the meat portion. For the price it was actually on the generous side, unlike other Viet places. If things keep holding on like this, we would definitely come back and try other dishes. I don’t think they served alcohol. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Solid Vietnamese food spot in NYC. The papaya salad was super refreshing—crunchy, tangy, and perfect to start with. I loved the Vietnamese iced coffee too—just the right balance of bitter and sweet, and so good on a hot day. The standout was the bún bò huế—an absolute umami bomb! Great spot for small groups, casual vibe, and I’d 100% come back again.

Google
Best meal we’ve had so far in NYC as travellers, authentic, I ordered meat crab soup, generous toppings with 3 large prawns, grilled pork for my husband he loves it proper grilled taste and my kids love the Pho. Coffee is good too!!! Good service with a smile ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
REAL VIETNAMESE PERSON HERE and I don’t play about Vietnamese food. After hearing the discourse about lackluster Viet options in nyc, I spent 35 mins carefully reviewing where in manhattan could deliver the best hangover cure, and I struck gold with Non La. This spot is fantastic. To no exaggeration, I was offered a table before both feet were inside the restaurant. Super cute/quaint/clean seating area. Then my order was taken quickly and I had my all food in 5-6 mins, and it was gone in like 10 LOL. I got the pho dac biet, goi coun, and a Vietnamese coffee to go. All the food was excellent, hit the spot and priced fairly based on ingredients quality and flavor. Service was perfect:) overall value is excellent. For the ultra critic- the broth was very good but missing a TINY something. Maybe a teensy bit more depth?? I’m comparing it with bowls from California, Colorado and France tho so I digress. Still spectacular and I’m excited to come back and try the other menu items!!!!! Thanks for a wonderful lunch today 🫶🏼🍜🎋

Google
Real Vietnamese person here. This is one of my top 2 best Vietnamese in Manhattan and seemingly way too under the radar. Social media not all over it yet. They have all the greatest hits (pho, banh mi, spring and summer rolls) but done well and authentically. Some small but v important details that make the food here excellent: 1. The crispy spring roll with pork is the first legit version I’ve encountered in my 20 yrs in nyc (all others usually are wrapped in the wrapper that bubbles when fried….like NO. The ones in photo below are so much better). Fried to perfection. 2. The plate of greens you get for the pho and for the crispy spring rolls are FRESH and PLENTIFUL. For the pho especially, this is like 100% more Thai basil and jalapeño than you get in most other places in NYC (albeit 50% less than your get in CA!) 3. The special combo pho has tripe and tendon. Respect.

Yelp
Visited Non La on August 11, 2024; I was extremely pleased with the overall dining experience. The food and service was amazing. 10/10 would come here again. I recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to try Vietnamese cuisine for the first time. Ambiance: We decided to dine outdoors because it was a nice breezy day, and didn't regret it! This restaurant reminded me of a mom and pop restaurant, which made it feel comforting and intimate. Food: Ordered 4 things: 1. Pho, house combo -- so tasty and flavorful, with or without hoisin; hits the spot if you crave pho 2. Bun thit nuong, house combo -- just how I imagine it to be, and the sauce was a perfect ratio of tang, sweetness, and umami 3. Banh mi, grilled lemongrass pork and we added pate -- Amazing! Perfect ratio of meat to veggies 4. Seafood pan fried noodles -- OK; the other dishes are more favorable

Yelp
No wait for 2 people for lunch on New Year's Day. It's a small spot and was pretty full though, though so plan accordingly. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, and my boyfriend and I shared the Bun bo hue and beef brisket pho. Both broths were incredible. Beef itself was mid, but god damn those broths were good. Great service, too. Would return! 4.5 stars.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner on a Saturday - the restaurant is pretty small, very limited seating, so we had to wait about 20-30 min for a table for 2. My friend had been wanting to try this place and everything on the menu looked good. I opted to try the combination pho (since I've yet to find many pho's that I like in NYC) while my friend got the bun bo hue (or she may have had a miscommunication with the waiter and got the bun rieu so that's unclear). I thought my pho was alright, nothing great and nothing terrible. The noodles were perfect but thought the broth lacked depth of flavor which made some of the meats (mainly the tendon) taste like nothing at all. There also wasn't much tripe, which was disappointing since that's one of my favorites in my pho. I had a taste of my friend's broth, which I actually quite liked/thought it was a lot more flavorful and she enjoyed it as well. Overall, thought the pho was just okay but if I ever came back I'd maybe opt for trying the bun rieu/bun bo hue or something else.

Yelp
(I always like to preface any Vietnamese restaurant review by saying that I'm born and raised in Little Saigon in CA, so I'm very proud of the delicious viet food we have here) Non La has to be my favorite Vietnamese spot for Bun Rieu in Manhattan!!!! That's all I've had so far... but every time I come back the Bun Rieu is always calling my name. Service is great. I love seeing my Vietnamese uncle. He always gives me a side of their shrimp paste to add to the broth and it makes me feel like I'm at home again :') anyway I love this spot ok

Yelp
So very little ambience , tiny just about five tables or so . But friend said her favorite go to any night . We lucked out got last table . And as promised really flavorful dinner at a great price . We both had the bun . She always gets the combo pork , shrimp over vermicelli noodles and a spring roll . I went for the beef Bun and lived the beef marinade . We were full and satisfied for under $25 . Amazing . Will be back

Yelp
This is going on my favorites list !!! Nón Lá is a tiny tiny cute restaurant in the east village and the food is SO GOOD! I had heard good things from another friend who said this was their favorite Vietnamese restaurant, and I tried it tonight and fell in love. The pho was SO GOOD. I couldn't stop saying how amazing it was. My friend got a special menu item with a million different proteins and a tomato broth, and that was also delicious. We did have to wait 20-30 minutes for a table on a Sunday night but they really only have like 10 tables, if that. It was so worth the wait!

Yelp
Visited based on a recommendation and now I will be recommending this restaurant myself. Growing up Viet, I often feel like I have to settle for Viet cuisine in NYC, but this place didn't disappoint. I'd order every item again. Flavorful, fresh, and great serving size. Very hospitable service as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my chicken lemongrass . The chicken was nicely cut up eliminating the usual chewy parts and the bread was so soft it almost felt like I was eating brioche . The sauces they put in it were delicate and allowed all the individual flavors to come together nicely while still having its shine individually. This is definitely high level sandwich making . As for their veggie spring roll , it was also quite good despite not having the sauce as it opened and spilled in the to-go bag ! Either way, it tasted very fresh , wasn't greasy and had some crunch although the latter could be amplified a-bit . In any case , the food , the service and the value would likely have me there again soon.

Yelp
Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in NYC so far! I loved the spring rolls and the pho was definitely better than lots of other places I've tried. It was savory and had lots of noodles and meat. I just wish the pho came with raw meat so it could have cooked in the broth. The restaurant is quite small. But the service is very quick and the food is reasonably priced.

Yelp
I'm visiting in New York and came here with my daughter and granddaughter for an early dinner. The inside of the restaurant is small with only five seats, but there is also a separate space outside where you can eat too. Quick service. I ordered Pho Dac Biet $18.00 (House combination pho with eye round, brisket, tendon, & tripe.) My daughter ordered Goi Cuon Shrimp $8.00 (Shrimp fresh summer rolls), Com Tom Ram $17.00 (Shrimp stir fried in a lemongrass sauce) and Vietnamese iced coffee $6. Granddaughter ordered Mi Xao Dzon Ga $20.00 (Stir fried chicken and veggies atop a bed of crispy egg noodles.) My pho seemed a little on the thin side in terms of soup flavor but many meat inside the soup. Stir fried noodles w chicken had a lot of vegetables and garlicky taste. Shrimp Lemongrass was okay. I think I'll try something else next time!

Yelp
My new favorite Vietnamese place in the city!! So good. Can't wait to come back. The pho was great! It was a cold rainy day and just what I needed. We also tried the vermicelli with the lemongrass chicken and yes, so good. I've been in the hunt and at last here is Nón Lá!!
google avatar

Yelp
Walked into Non La on a chilly Saturday evening and got a warm bowl of beef ball pho soup! It's a cozy but tight spot inside with not a lot of seating, so a reservation might be advisable. Good ambience otherwise. The pho meatball was $15, which is a pretty decent price for pho in new york and was very filling. The broth was pretty good, though maybe a bit too salty. I did really enjoy the amount of herbs (cilantro, green onion, thai basil, and one green leafy vegetable that I didn't recognize). The service was efficient and fast.
google avatar

Cece L.

Yelp
Great Vietnamese spot! I had their bun bo hue and the flavors were on point. Love the generous variety of meats -- super tender. Took a star off because it came with an oddly small amount of noodles -- like extremely little. Little enough for me to wonder if it was an accident. I expect to be quite filled from a bowl of noodles with lots of meat, but I was still hungry afterwards. I'd still come back to try another dish.
google avatar

Yelp
Nón Lá, you're not an easy name to remember but I won't forget your location on an East Vil. side street or your cozy atmosphere. My crispy noodles with fresh sauteed tofu and veggies was fabulous, as were the pork spring rolls, With gracious service and bang for your buck to boot, you're five stars.

Yelp
Pho is my comfort food, especially in the cold nyc winters! My usual go-to places are Hanoi House or Nha Trang One, but some friends recently introduced me to this place. life changing. I tried the "Pho Tai" or "Beef Eye rounds Pho" (size small) for $15.00. They were definitely very generous with their protein portion of beef eye rounds. The most important part of the pho which I would say is the broth was also super rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly silky smooth. I have a habit of using hoisin sauce to dip my protein and noodles in, and their sauce (at least to me) tasted house made (did not get confirmation for this so when you go in store you could confirm for me ;)). The service was also very efficient and timely. Right when my whole party was seated, our order was immediately taken, and food was served shortly after. For sure my new go to spot for pho. I would highly recommend checking it out!!
google avatar

Yelp
Small spot with limited seating (best to go in groups of 2 or 4). Friendly, attentive staff who tend to customers quickly. The food was quick to serve and flavorful. It's a no-frills viet spot in the neighborhood
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
I'd really give it 4.5 stars for some slight service issues and the size of the restaurant but it's closer to 5 stars! My roommate and I shared the banh Cuon which was really good and the fried shrimp cake on top was extremely crispy. The sauce it came with was great too! We both got the Pho Ga as it was a rainy night and it was 10/10! They give you a huge portion and the added garlic chili oil really put it over the top! I only wish they were open past 9 on a Friday night. They also did not offer us an alcoholic drink menu and they were really pushy with getting us out of the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
I love trying new Vietnamese restaurants in the city (especially for pho!) so I was excited to come to this one recently. Loves: + Nice staff + Good photo ($18 for a bowl of combo) + Quick to order and get served + Indoor and outdoor seating Their menu is not as extensive as other Viet spots but I appreciate that since they can really hone in on their specialities.
google avatar

Honghui Y.

Yelp
Solid hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant in the EV. Come here on a cold winter's day and order one of the soup noodles. My favorite is the bun bo hue, which is something you don't see at all Vietnamese places. Service is totally no nonsense but efficient, which is fine with me.
google avatar

Sophia W.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for pho. Non La is a small, authentic restaurant that is typically crowded. The servers are friendly, and overall it's a really enjoyable experience to eat there. We got a beef brisket pho and a grilled pork chop pho. The broth was so flavorful, and the brisket was cooked wonderfully. It was tender and tasty. The grilled pork chop had a delicious smoky flavor and paired well with the pho. They also have a variety of other Vietnamese dishes to choose from. I would definitely recommend this gem in East Village - just try to go earlier to avoid the wait!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I like the beef ball pho and when i got extra noodles, they really do give extra noodles! I'd come back for the pho. There are only a few tables there.

Yelp
Solid bowl of Bun Bo Hue and delicious Vietnamese iced coffee! Perfect for a quick lunch! In and out

Yelp
I was happy to encounter another Vietnamese restaurant here in Manhattan. Although my general assumptions about my culture's food quality in the city is rather pessimistic, my desperate reminisce of home lured me into Non La. What we ordered: The bun bo hue here didn't taste quite right. It seemed rather heavy and was too forward in tomato flavor. This proved to be rather distracting and took away from the essence of a classic BBH. It lacked that spice, kick, and acidity that BBH usually boasts. While the meat was delicious (I am a lover of tendon and this place satisfied), the meal outside of that was underwhelming. On the contrary, my partners combination pho was pretty decent! It reminded of a Pho Hoa, a basic and affordable chain readily available back at home. Although it wasn't what we usually go for quality-wise, it did just the trick to satiate the cravings (for now). I really enjoyed the limeade soda here, which was comprised of limeade and seltzer soda. It shined a great balance of sour and sweet with a tinge of zing. The staff here are nice. I really appreciated that the server and host were Vietnamese people. You don't run into many Vietnamese speakers here in the city, so finding that sense of community, although rather small, is wonderful. I will return to try the clay pot and shaken beef the next time I'm craving Vietnamese food. The staff, warm and cozy atmosphere, and intimate setting of the restaurant makes a perfect secret little getaway on colder days about the town.
google avatar

Citlali A.

Yelp
Super solid bun bo hue and nice service. The fatty pieces in the soup imparted such a depth of flavor. I can't wait to go back and try more! I only wish there was an option to maybe customize the spice level
google avatar

Lynne C.

Yelp
I've been back to Nón Lá twice and enjoyed my meal both times. I get the beef ball pho, which is delicious. The broth is really flavorful and rich. I've also tried a bit of my friend's Bún bò Huế, which was also really good. The restaurant is pretty small with not a lot of seating. I went on a Sunday night with a group of 8 people and we were able to get seated in around half an hour. The food was also served super quickly.
google avatar

Sarah X.

Yelp
Very flavorful food with reasonable prices for the portions. The meat in their Bun Bo Hue is very tender and perfect for a cold day. The indoor seating is more limited, so I would either come a bit earlier to get a spot indoors or you'll likely sit in their heated outdoor area. Service is very friendly, and would highly recommend.
google avatar

Mars G.

Yelp
Wow this place is insanely good. This photo should say everything needed! The staff is friendly and service is super quick. Delicious broth that isn't too salty and so so delicious. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Delicious. We have ordered take-out from here multiple times and dined-in once or twice. The food always tastes fresh and flavorful and it is easily the best Vietnamese restaurant in the East Village. When dining in the restaurant, the ambience is great, very minimalistic and earthy, and the service is excellent. We typically order the pho in addition to some sides, like summer rolls or spring rolls, and everything always tastes amazing.
google avatar

Carol Y.

Yelp
Was out in the Nordics where vietnamese food wasn't all the way right. Tried out this spot for the fix and no disappointment. Solid bowl of beef pho, rice noodles perfectly thin and right amount of chew. Viet ice coffee with that strong bitter kick in the back. Wanted to take the Pho to go and they packed it up for me. Joy. NYC, we got it all.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
Wow, it can be so hard to find a solid pho place in NYC!! I've been here a handful of times and the food quality and service are always consistent. I always judge a Vietnamese by the quality of their pho broth and this place does not disappoint. The broth has plenty of anise flavor, the correct amount of sodium, a touch of oil/fat, and plenty of depth. I don't detect any msg in it. This place makes it in my top 3 places for pho in NYC. I had dinner around 5pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. At times, I've seen there be a 10-30min wait, depending on how busy it is. There are only 4-5 tables inside but there's more seating capacity outside (roughly around 4-5 more booths that can seat 6 people each). I've also had their main dish where they give you your own rice papers and a big heaping dish of grilled pork, veggies, sauces, etc and you make your own rolls but sadly I don't see that they carry that anymore :( Hopefully they bring that back!
google avatar

Jesse P.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Best pho in East Village and downtown Manhattan hands down. I come once a week at least and the pho is unbeatable Great broth, always consistent, lot of toppings and meat and the service and staff so friendly. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese spot in East Village! It has indoor and outdoor seating options. They don't have that many seats so I'd try to get there early if you need a table for more than 4 on a busy night. I got the Bun Bo Hue with round rice noodle, pork trotter, brisket, and tendon for $21. The flavor of the broth was great and you get a huge amount of meat in the dish. It comes with all the traditional sides of bean sprouts, mint, jalapeños, and lime. The service was also fast and the waiters/waitresses were very attentive.
google avatar

Mi Yon Y.

Yelp
A little charming restaurant. The service is very quick. You can literally be in and out in less than an hour. The Spring Rolls are good. Must try with all the herbs and wrap it with lettuce. The Beef Brisket Pho was delicious except some of the meat was a little though. The Lemongrass Pork Chop is excellent. Love the flavor of the grill and the meat. It was very juicy. I will definitely give the pho another chance.
google avatar

Emi D.

Yelp
We love this place, it has been a definite hit or miss finding tasteful Vietnamese food in the city, but this place has been an east village go to! They have great service as well as balanced flavors and authentic dishes such as Bún riêu and Bún Bò Huê' that hit the spot especially on a cold day. Amazing Bánh Cuôn too!
google avatar

Tahreem A.

Yelp
I accidentally ordered from here thinking it was another Vietnamese restaurant I've been to before that's nearby but I realized when I walked in that it wasn't. But I'm glad I came because now I have another one on my list! I ordered the veggie and tofu banh mi. I've never seen broccoli in banh mi before but it worked well. My absolute favorite part was the bread, I'm not sure what they did to it but it might actually be the best banh mi bread I've ever had (and I've had a lot). It was super soft but on the thinner side and buttery. It also had this sauce on it that was kind of vinegary and a little sour that I also really liked. I wish it had some sort of spice, like chillis I've seen in other places, but it was still super good and I would get it again!
google avatar

Kelly Q.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday for lunch around noon with my boyfriend and we were seated right away! I ordered bun bo hue and my boyfriend ordered bun riêu. They made serious mistakes with our dishes i don't think we'll come back.. -They swapped the noodles. my bun bo hue came with thin noodles and the bun rieu had thick ones -They also swapped the meats; they put beef slices in the bun rieu... Other than that the soups weren't very hot when they arrived, and the bun rieu was missing the shrimp paste that it was supposed to come with. The bun bo hue broth was not very flavorful either. Otherwise the outdoor dining area was quite nice, you can seat 6 people in a booth and there is overhead protection.
google avatar

Dalena H.

Yelp
Finally found a decent bun bo hue in NYC and that makes me soooo happy. It had all the right rich flavors and aroma. It wasn't too spicy which is ok with me. Had plenty of meats and even had a good sized pork hock. There was plenty of noodles as well. I was very satisfied. The egg rolls were fairly good but a bit too small. I love that they gave us veggies to have with it. My friend had the banh mi and he seemed to have enjoyed it. The bread looks like it was made in house. The space is very small and I elbowed our server as she walked by with food. Thankfully it wasn't hard enough to knock her down. Overall not bad experience. It's a bit pricey.
google avatar

Michael Y.

Yelp
We were looking for a relatively light meal after a day of art trekking in NYC. Nón Lá was just the place. It is a small restaurant with less than ten tables and a cozy "neighborhood restaurant" feel. We shared Crispy Spring Rolls, Salmon Claypot and Lemongrass Shrimp. All were excellent. The service was great too. We will definitely go back. The Pho is also supposedly very good. And, judging by the choices of other diners, we will try that next time!

Yelp
This new-ish Vietnamese restaurant is from the same team that owns Sao Mai just a few blocks away. Sao Mai has been a longtime fixture in the East Village for pho and noodle bowls, but the flavors never wowed me. I was optimistic that their new spot would have different fare, but the prices are high and the food doesn't pack any punch. There are only a small handful of tables inside, so we sucked it up and sat in one of their outdoor booths, thinking the soup we were about to have would warm our weather-worn selves. The seafood pho I had needed a very healthy dollop of hoisin sauce and sriracha to be salty enough for me, the broth lacked depth of flavor, and there wasn't a lot of seafood in it. I know rents are high but I definitely felt the effects of shrinkflation present here. They were also somewhat overwhelmed and understaffed. I was hoping Non La would serve as a solid backup for when the more popular Vietnamese restaurants nearby quote wait times too long for me, but I'd venture further to get my pho fix.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Came by alone for an early dinner around 4pm. Not a lot of indoor seating but was able to snag a table for myself. I got the bun bo hue per the server's recommendation. It came with two HUGE meaty beef bones which was amazing. Flavorful lean and fatty pieces on it. The rest was pretty standard ingredients for bun bo hue + fresh veggies that I've had before, though the broth seemed to be a bit watery in flavor. Overall, cute and intimate little neighborhood Vietnamese place. Next time I'll have to try their vermicelli noodles. Prices are a bit expensive but I guess that's to be expected of East Village.

Yelp
This place popped up on my Tiktok as a recommended noodle place in New York and since my bestie and I are on a mission to try out various tiktok recommended food places we decided to stop by here. The place itself is pretty smaller with mainly two people seats but the place itself is super cozy. We came around 5 pm on a Monday Holiday and we got seated right away. The menu was not super extensive but they had all the classic items. We both decided to get the Viet ice coffee which was delicious - then again I have yet to find a place who made bad Viet ice coffee. It came in a cute mason jar. She got the Pho beef brisket and I got the Pho Beef Round Eye. The soup base was absolutely delicious - so flavorful and rich without being too salty. The noodles also were perfectly cooked and the meats were also really good as well. I did wish that there was more noodles in the dish but otherwise it was delicious. Definitely recommend coming by here for pho if you are in the mood for it. Great service and good food!!

Yelp
I love walking through the streets of East Village on the way to and from a corepower class and seeing which places look good. This is how I stumbled upon Non La. I love Vietnamese food and my favorite place in NY is deep in Greenpoint (shoutout Di and Di), so I've been looking for something closer. Non La did NOT dissapoint. We got the fried shrimp appetizer along with the Lotus Root Salad to start. Immaculate. We got the beef pho and fried rice for mains and they were both phenomenal. Not gonna lie I was exhausted from watching Jake Paul get his ass whooped so my picture taking skills were not my best, I'll be better moving forward I promise you. I can't recommend this place enough and I will be back. Non La or swallow a cactus!

Yelp
The food was super warming and the broth was flavorful. The service was moderate but I think the food made up for it. We were greeted at the door sat quickly presented with menus and ordered all within the first 10 minutes. The food came out hot and fast. A good place to go if you're hungover

Yelp
I got the bun Bo hue and my friend got the pho. Both were absolutely incredible. The bun Bo hue is a rare menu item at Vietnamese places in NYC, but Non La did it right. It was kind of like a slightly spicier version of regular pho, the broth was light and thin with a rich and flavorful taste. The broth was a bit thinner than some bun Bo hues I had in the past, but I actually preferred this one. The bowl was also packed with plenty of protein and each bite was so delicious. I also tried a bite of my friend's pho, and it was also very good. You won't regret coming here for either the bun Bo hue or the pho. It's definitely a top Viet spot for me, and I take my Vietnamese restaurant rankings very seriously as many places in the city haven't hit home. This one certainly does.

Yelp
I came in with a walk-in on a Saturday and although there was no seating available inside, they have a parklet for dining outside. The menu has a variety of traditional mainstream vietnamese dishes, with a few others sprinkled in. It's a good place to go with people who are both familiar and unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. We ordered the banh cuon (shrimp rice rolls) to share since these are rarely served in restaurants. These were really great, it came with the rice rolls, fried shrimp roll and some vietnamese ham to go with it. These aren't typically adds with the dish but really do enhance the texture and flavors. These are a must order. The pho was quite bland and lacked depth in its broth. I wish it was hotter too, since eating outside you would like something hotter to keep your warm. The bun bo hue was fantastic and authentic with a deep flavor profile, and had all the fixings one would expect from a bun bo hue. This is a pork and beef based soup so it was spicy, savory, and lemony with its iconic lemongrass. I'd totally come back for the bun bo hue and banh cuon, these are must haves here.

Yelp
Had this on my list of Vietnamese restaurants to visit and I'd have to say overall the food was pretty decent! The pho was great minus the tripe and tendon which is just my personal taste and the bun bo hue was a little off for me. Didn't taste like what I grew up with, but overall was pretty decent. Pork cha gio were good except their teeny tiny! Wouldn't put this at the top of my list, but it's a decent place that I'd try again if I were in the neighborhood!

Yelp
do not order if you are a vegetarian. The vegan Banh me is horrible. The bread is way too soft, there is one tiny pice on tofu on the whole sandwich and the rest is steamed vegetables that taste like chicken stock. horrible

Yelp
This place rules. The food is delicious, menu has great variety with classic Vietnamese dishes and some unexpected delights. Lemon grass chicken bún rocks as does all the bhán mi. Ambience is lovely- charming and intimate always with a kick ass playlist. Service team is super nice and makes the experience lovely every time. Pricing is great value. 10 out of 10.

Yelp
The food was so fresh and so delicious! I really enjoyed the papaya salad as well as the grilled lemongrass beef noodle.
