"The Guilin beef tendon stew features a melange of ingredients that together create a satisfying mix of flavors and textures. The bouncy rice noodles serve as a perfect base for the dish and a nice surface for the sweet soy sauce dressing to cling to. The thinly sliced tendon and beef shank add another layer of flavor, with tender tendons pulling apart easily with each bite. The pickled green beans add a nice smidge of acidity and tang to the dish, while a small handful of peanuts and cilantro add different styles of crunch." - Eater Staff

Gourmet Healthy Chinese food from Wenyan & Tom Petersen and their master chefs - now in 3 locations. I go back again and again when I'm in town. Tom plays cool jazz in El Cerrito Noodles Fresh. Last night at their Berkeley Downton location I had one of my favorite vegetable dishes "Half Half" with Garlic + Brown Rice and good hot tea. Wenyan also offers connoisseur High Mountain Chinese Tea served traditionally. Highly reccomend! JH *NOTE: tasty Tofu from Wok can be added to any dish for only $2 #gourmet #noodles #healthyfood #chineserestaurant #teahouse

My mother and I ate here today for lunch. The service was nice and the food was good. The curry chicken noodle soup is less than $15 dollars and we split it, and I still have the leftovers for about two meals. Definitely worth the price! I enjoyed the potstickers too. I didn't find the chili oil spicy but I enjoyed the taste (this may be because I have too high of a spice tolerance?). A man sitting next to us had the chili fish noodle soup and that looked very nice too. The waitress was nice and diligently refilled our waters, the entire restaurant was clean and is a quaint space. Would definitely recommend.

Google
Noodles Fresh is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in Berkeley. It's never very crowded when I go, which is a pity because they deserve more business. They have a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Try the vegetarian goose-- I'd never had anything like it before, but it is extremely savory and well balanced. The lunch special is extremely high value for the money: a large bowl of noodle soup for only 10.95 (12.40 after tax). I've tried the Shanghai double happiness and the chili fish (veg option subs tofu). They're both delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also nice. I love looking at all the teapots and teacups on the walls

We had the Sichuan Dan Dan, Chili fish noodle soup, and scallion pancakes. Everything was extremely tasty and the service was quick and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Google
Got the Taiwan beef noodle soup, it was amazing. I was also shocked at the time of service. I think I waited 2-3 minutes after ordering before they brought my soup. Service is very quick and the food is so flavorful

Google
Lovely place - very accessible and easy to find right on Shattuck. Place is nice and spacious and very clean. Service is friendly and very quick. We shared onion pancake which was nice and crispy, chicken homemade rice noodle soup and beef tips thick noodle soup. Everything was delicious but the beef dish stood out. Our 4 years old also enjoyed the soups and especially the crispy onion pancake. Will definitely be back when around the area :)

Google
Overall great Chinese food in Berkeley for an okay price. Really like the Taiwan beef noodle soup and jiangxi noodle salad. Everything came out as expected. Good service, clean plating, plenty of seating. Scallion pancakes were really disappointing though; very little actual scallions in them.

Google
Loved it! I had Jiangxi stir fry, and the food was very good. I very much like the interior design, combining Asian elements with industrial styling. Service was excellent and the food came very fast.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by Noodles Fresh on a quiet Friday afternoon for a late lunch around 1:00 p.m., and we were surprised to find the entire restaurant empty. We decided to share a few dishes: the green onion pancake, beef noodle soup, and their Hong Kong-style lemongrass pork chops. After placing our order, the food arrived quickly--everything was on the table in about 10 minutes. The green onion pancake was a nice start to the meal. The pancake is deep-fried but manages to be fluffy and light without feeling overly greasy. Next up was the lemongrass pork chop rice platter. The pork was sliced thin, similar to the grilled pork you'd find in a Vietnamese vermicelli bowl. The seasoning was spot on, with the lemongrass flavor really shining through. I also loved the pickled veggies on the side--they added a refreshing tang to balance the dish. Finally, the beef noodle soup was the last to arrive. Everything about it felt well-balanced. The noodles were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of chew. The beef pieces were tender, with a good mix of lean cuts and bits of tendon for extra texture. What really stood out to me was the broth--it didn't rely on oil for flavor, which gave it a lighter, cleaner taste compared to other beef noodle soups I've had. When I'm in the Berkeley area, my go-to spots are usually Noodle Dynasty on Telegraph or Imperial Soup in Oakland. But after trying Noodles Fresh, I'd happily stop by again to explore more of their menu.

Yelp
Great food that is quality and tastes great. - hot and sour was balanced, very enjoyable -bok choy was cooked perfectly, bright and not stringy I like that you could order very regionally different foods in one place. We had Hunan, Hainan, and Hong Kong soups all at one table and all excellent! The restaurant had excellent spacing between tables and a good ambient temperature. Defiantly try the dish before adding anything, it's so well prepared and balanced. I did add chili oil toward the end - not to give anything away but the chili oil will add a hearty rich smoke flavor. It's not spicy, just an additional layer of flavor. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came to Berkeley for an event and needed a place to eat for an early dinner. I was craving Chinese and noodles with soup and Noodles Fresh popped up. It had what I was looking for and had good reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go. It was early so we were the only ones there, so it was quiet, but we didn't mind. There's the option order through their website/QR code on the table or the waitress. I ordered the Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup and my boyfriend got the Hainan Chicken Rice Plate. We shared a scallion pancake as an appetizer. I'd say the portions are a decent size and will keep you full. My noodle soup was perfect and exactly what I wanted. The Hainan chicken was really good and my boyfriend had to complaints eating the whole thing. The scallion pancake was flaky and had enough filling inside. Overall, the food was great and would come here again. It would be a spot I would take my family!

Yelp
Ordered delivery from here and thought the food was decent. I ordered the potato salad, cumin lamb, and salt & pepper chicken wings. Everything arrived warm and everything seemed like small portions. The cumin lamb was okay. It had good flavor but did not taste as good as other restaurants. It had a light cumin flavor with a hint of gaminess. It also needed a bit of salt and more cumin flavor! The potato salad was interesting. It was slightly spicy and had a numbing effect on the tongue. A bit too much for me but still good when eaten in small portions. The salt & pepper chicken wings were okay as well. It was a small portions but tasted good. I love anything salt & pepper (e.g. Tofu, chicken wings, short ribs, etc.) Overall the food was decent.

Yelp
Beautiful Asian decor greets you as you enter Noodles Fresh. It is nice & spacious so larger groups can be accommodated. Appetizers: Vegetarian 8" pancake- onion pancake that was very crispy & didn't have the onion aroma to entice me to eat 2 slices, so I wouldn't re-order next time. Chongqing Beef Tendon- my favorite appetizer that I always order bc not only is the chili oil spice infused with a lot of authentic spices, but the tendon pieces were thinly sliced with cucumber added to the bottom. String Bean-very fresh & wok fried to a perfect crisp & flavor to satisfy. Dan Dan Noodle-wheat ramen noodles with mung bean, Bok Choy, ground pork & 2 sides of chili oil(Sichuan Peanut chili oil) that you mix in yourself I guess to add to your own specification. The portion was enough to feed 5 given we had 2 appetizers, a vegetable dish & a Hong Kong BBQ pork bowl. Great flavor & not overly spicy. Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bowl- a large bowl of soupy egg noodles with BBQ pork with a broth that was well made & generous in portion size. The BBQ pork was thinly sliced & wasn't fatty. The Bok Choy was fresh. A very common dish that one doesn't get tired of eating. This is my 2nd visit to Noodles Fresh because it has pretty large portions & is reasonably priced.

Yelp
I really liked the food, large number of menu choices, and dishes from various parts of China. Service was fast and non-intrusive. Large portions, reasonable prices, and good flavors, would definitely go back. Decor and ambiance is a little meh. Nice high ceilings with good air circulation are a plus; the TV on the wall showing the news and whatever program came on after didn't help the setting.

Tony W.

Yelp
Pretty great spot with lots to offer on the menu. The menu doesn't focus specifically on one part of Chinese cuisine, rather it showcases many regions from Hong Kong to Xinjiang, yunnan to sichuan. Pretty wide range indeed Service was attentive, high ceilings in what looks like an ex-pizza Parlor with a big pizza oven in the middle of the open kitchen. Food range was big, taste was 8/10, so pretty decent. Sometimes may be better to focus on one region though so the menu wouldn't look so spastic Chili oil that we asked for wasn't actually all that spicy at all, more so fragrant

Yelp
Wednesday 2024/03/06 19:00 - diverse menu of classic noodles and other dishes from all across China - service was a little rude, and the waitress forgot about one of the dishes I ordered - we dined in as a party of 2 Guilin beef tendon stew 桂林鹵水米粉 ($13.95): "Rice noodle with beef shank & tendon, peanut, pickled string bean, garlic, scallion & cilantro," and a soy-based sauce on the side - despite stew being in its name, it was actually a dry mixed noodle, but I think it would be better served in soup - generous amount of noodles and a fair amount of toppings - every component was prepared well, but the overall dish lacks flavor Vegetarian goose 素鹅 ($10.95): "Vegetarian, shiitake mushroom wrapped in tofu skin. serve cold" - a rare item to find at restaurants - tofu skin was fresh but slightly toothsome Shanghai smoked fish 上海熏鱼 ($12.95): "Spice-smoked tilapia fish. serve cold" - somewhat overpriced for the portion size (6-7 bite-sized pieces) - fish was fresh and not too oily - sauce's flavor slightly missed the mark, a little too sour

Cassandra T.

Yelp
Flavor - 3 Portions - 5 Price - 4 The food here is decent but nothing to write home about. Not sure what everyone is raving about, but maybe it was the dish I got. We ordered 2 vegetarian noodle dishes - the Shanghai Scallion and the Vegetarian Stir Fry. Portions are huge, but both of the dishes lacked an oomph in the flavor. They don't have so many vegetables and it is very noodle forward but if the sauce was full of flavor, I wouldn't have minded. Even with the extra sauce on the Shanghai Scallion, the flavor just didn't really do it for me. I had to add soy sauce and sriracha and I shouldn't have to add sauces to fix my food. Overall, would probably not go back because I've had way better noodles elsewhere. I probably also prefer Thai noodles because the flavor is better in general compared to Chinese noodles (shoutout to Pad Kee Mao, the GOAN - greatest of all noodles)

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
I only did take out. When I picked up the place was empty. Service was fast. I ordered Wor Wonton soup. It was good. A little light on the vegetables. The broth was straight stock.

Carrie H.

Yelp
Come to this noodle restaurant for a fast and tasty food experience! Noodle soups were full of fresh vegetables, meats and very tasty broth. We got Canton seafood soup bowl, lamb soup bowl and Hong Kong BBQ noodle soup bowls. They were raving favorites from our Chinese mom. The Canton seafood noodle stirfry was fresh with a balance of ramen, shrimp, calamari, and snow peas. All came in large steaming bowls. We love that they do not use MSG! Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was pleasant with Asian decor, side bar area and remaining tables and booths. Open view of the kitchen and seeing the food being prepared gave a cool foodie experience. We will be back!

Kim l.

Yelp
We ended up here since Great China had a long wait. We were promptly seated and orders: Hainan chicken: 4/5 one daughter liked it and other daughter said it was too salty. Southeast chicken noodle soup: 4/5 good clean broth. Won ton soup: 4/5 good wontons, no noodles. HK Pork chop: 5/5 very flavorful! Highly recommend this one. Beef noodle soup: 4/5 good but not your typical Taiwanese broth. Wonton in chili sauce: 3/5 sauce could have been more flavorful/spicy Good and fast service!

Yelp
Food: I've been her over a dozen times with family and by myself, everything is amazing here and it's my favorite restaurant in berkeley. Unlike other stores where dishes are a hit or miss I don't think I've had a single bad thing here and I've tried over half their menu. My personal favorite is the canton seafood bowl which I've gotten takeout for more times than I can count haha Service: It's a small family owned business with a location in Berkeley and El Cerrito and the service is always amazing :) Ambiance: Super spacious and carefully decorated interior, the owner told us stories behind some of the design and everything here is so well thought out and beautiful :) It's honestly such an underrated place with how empty they are sometimes, I think it's just because they are a few blocks further away from campus than other busy restaurants but if I'd definitely recommend this to all my friends!

Samveda R.

Yelp
Very good vegetarian options. The Shanghai Daylily soup was a light flavorful slightly sweet broth with peanuts, noodles, carrots. Taste was unique. The five spice tofu vegetarian version had a great taste, but had a lot of celery which I didn't love since I don't like celery. Would order again though. Will definitely be coming back.

Kiara P.

Yelp
We love coming to noodles fresh! This location has a welcoming and attentive staff, a calm and inviting atmosphere, and most importantly: delicious food! The red tea is especially tasty, and we have never had a bad meal here. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Harald L.

Yelp
Another great meal at Noodles Fresh. Unlike our previous dinner visits, we decided to do Brunch with family visiting from Manhattan right after they ran the Berkeley Half Marathon as well as two foodie friends that had not been there either. The vote is in - more rave reviews on their great food, great service and the casual ambiance at their Berkeley location. As it turns out, their regular menu is what they offer starting at 11am and we had a great meal. A few dim sum like starters and then some great entrees. We always share family style and we did the same and enjoyed every item. Prices are reasonable, parking is generally pretty easy and it feels good to support a locally owned business like this that does such a great job!

Jeannette M.

Yelp
The food was tasty and the waiter was kind and attentive. There was basketball on but the ambiance was mixed.

Athina S.

Yelp
This place is great! I've been a little under the weather and can only eat soup. My friend suggested this place. Their takeout is fast and efficient and they pack up the food very thoughtfully. I got the Taiwan beef noodle soup. It's really good but it is sweet which I wasn't expecting. They picked the noodles/veggie separately from the broth that way you can control when you want to combine it. That was perfect for me as I don't have the largest appetite right now so I just portioned the amount I wanted into a bowl and saved the rest. For my personal taste could've used extra spice or chili. I'm sure they have some and you would just have to ask when ordering to go.

Danielle H.

Yelp
Noodles Fresh has delicious dishes with great flavors! I've been going there for awhile and have tried many of their dishes and they all have been amazing. They also make their own chili sauce in house and sell jars for $5 which I totally recommend. The server is really friendly and can recommend a dish if you're unsure what to order. It's a spacious, modern restaurant that also has specialized teas.

yu m.

Yelp
We love this place, good food and nice service! We always order Jiangxi Noodle Salad (chicken) and onion pancakes . Fresh veggies, wonderful rice noodles!

Natalie L.

Yelp
I've only ever gotten food here for delivery, so on a really rainy and windy day where I had to be out, finally trying this place dine-in seemed like a good idea. I came in during lunch hours, so I got the Shanghai Double Happiness noodle soup because it was included on a lunch special. The server was really friendly, and she sat me down the second I came in because it was a quiet day, what with the weather. The ambiance of this place is really peaceful. They play quiet jazz music, so it's a bit relaxing to be here, and the decor is really cute! As for my food, I really enjoyed it! Despite being vegetarian, it was really flavorful. The wheat gluten was sweet and absorbed a lot of the soup's flavor. I would've appreciated more nuts in my soup because they added a nice crunch. I only saw like 2 in my bowl. :( Still, it was a nice, comforting bowl for a really cold day. Definitely think Noodles Fresh could go in my regular rotation of Berkeley restaurants!

Danny L.

Yelp
Love coming here in the evening with my partner! The servers are always so kind and the food quality is great. I highly recommend getting a pot of the red tea, and for non vegetarian/vegan eaters, the Taiwan Beef noodle soup is my fave.

Kat N.

Yelp
When we came in, there were 4 other parties seated and there was only one lady working as the server, cashier, runner, and busboy. 3 guys in the back cooking. Food came pretty fast but service was slow as expected (with only one lady). First time here so didn't notice that there was a QR code to self order but by the time I saw it, the lady came over and took our order. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular. Potstickers - average Scallion pancake - deep fried instead of pan fried. That's okay except that it tasted old Taiwan beef - broth was good but beef was dry Canton stir fry - not enough seasoning Yangzhou fried rice (not pictured) - average Fried chicken wings (not pictured) - only thing seasoned well and fried crispy

Thiri T.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night and ordered the chili fish noodle soup, scallion pancake, and beef noodle soup. The orders came out really fast, and the service was very efficient. I felt like the chili fish noodle soup wasn't very flavorful and was a bit too salty for me. It wasn't as spicy as I would've liked it, and the noodles were a bit over boiled and didn't go well with the toppings or the soup. The slices of fish were very small and not abundant. The beef noodle soup was actually pretty good (4/5). There wasn't a lot of flavor, but the noodles were perfectly chewy and the beef was very tender. Both noodles had huge portion sizes and we had to take some home. The scallion pancake was a bit dry (most likely because of the way they fried it) but the insides were pretty flaky. Overall not a bad place, but not the best for my taste.

Lionel C.

Yelp
The Canton seafood bowl was amazingly robust with umami, and the soup's aroma was remarkable, as if it were the product of MSG. But it couldn't have been because they don't add MSG. It also totally lacked the heavy film-like feel on the tongue of glutamate. The seafood was clearly fresh and perfectly done. The majority of seafood dishes and soups I've had are over-cooked, probably in abundance of caution, but not this sublime seafood bowl. The calamari was just the right chewable texture. The fish was tantalizingly tender. And the shrimp was absolutely superb--it's glassy finish perfectly snapping on the teeth with each bite. However, the Chen Pi beef did not have enough Chen Pi flavor. That's probably because the Chen Pi sauce pooled at the bottom of the dish. It would've been smarter after cooking up the deep-fried beef in the sauce to leave the bulk of the sauce at the bottom of the wok. Then dish out the beef onto the serving dish and finally pour the leftover sauce evenly on top. Some of the beef didn't have any sauce on it at all while the bottom pieces were soaked. The West-Lake Dongpo pork belly was one of the best pork bellies I've ever had in Asian cuisine. It was warmly sweet and slightly tart with a wonderful umami aftertaste. It bumped my previous pork belly fave of Braised Pork and Marinated Vegetables from C&M Bistro (Oakland) down a rung. Our server, though smiling and cordial, didn't seem very enthusiastic. When we came in at 7:45 pm, she and two others were eating at a dining room table. I didn't mind that at all, but I did get the vibe like I was interrupting her dinner. I think they felt it was ok to eat because, besides my table, there was only one other one with customers up until closing time at 9 PM. So I was surprised with so few customers to focus on, that she didn't do a more focused job.

Quoc H.

Yelp
Lunch specials run 11am-2:30pm weekdays and that's what I came for! I ordered on the phone for pick up and when I came the place was empty like only 1 person was there when there were plenty of tables open. My food was packed already on time. They give complimentary peanuts per order. I was stuck between trying a lunch special item and their beef noodle soup which wasn't part of the lunch special so I just got both. Their Lunch specials are now $9.95 so it increased $1 when I went in 6/2022. 9/10 Mongolian Beef: honestly super solid choice from the lunch special! Very good value and even though at first glance it doesn't seem a lot but theres a good amount of meat and rice. The beef was juicy and tender and really nicely cooked with a flavorful sauce that pairs well with plain hot white rice! Highly rec! 6/10 Beef Noodle Soup $12.95: Pretty disappointing. Their noodles weren't chewy or firm more like brittle and broke off really easily but maybe it's my fault for not eating it right away. However, this doesn't change the fact that the soup was meeeehhhhh like below mid. It's pretty bland and not flavorful like other beef noodle soups I've had. There's a good portion of meat that was tender and some bok choy but overall I wouldn't get this again just based on broth alone. Lunch specials look way more worth and better in my opinion.

J P.

Yelp
I ordered the Spring Rolls and the Shanghai Scallion. Both were delicious! The rolls were crunchy but not too hard, and the scallion was amazing and is a great portion. The scallion's tofu was done just right and tasted great mixed in with all the vegetables. They include soy sauce on the side, but I didn't feel the need to use it with how tasty food already was. The staff is nice and friendly, greeted me right away when entering, got my order accurately and got my check quickly when I finished eating. As for the space, the restaurant is pretty big and has plenty of seating, both large tables for groups and bar seating at bar and windows. The bar had a TV showing the Olympics, so Noodles Fresh might be a good spot to catch sports, if that's what you're looking for (but there's only one TV). It's great that this part Shattuck has a great Chinese spot now. Now I don't have to go all the way to the other side of Downtown when I want some good Chinese food. I will definitely come back to Noodles Fresh to try more of their dishes.

Gloria V.

Yelp
I've never tried Taiwanese noodles so aimed to try the Taiwan beef noodle dish (5/5 rating). There was an abundance of beef and I was pleasantly surprised with the broth having a tomato taste. It was a large portion and I took some home and the leftovers also tasted good. The noodles didn't swell up too much to my surprise the next day. My companion ordered a seafood noodle dish which I won't rate (2.5/5) there wasn't much seafood and lacked a bit of flavor. We ordered extra char siu for an appetizer and I found it a bit too chewy and greasy for my taste. Overall nice and friendly folk working here :)

Helen N.

Yelp
Food here was really good and surprisingly cheap given prices in the bay these days. We came on a weekend and didn't have to wait at all to be seated, though it was summer so school wasn't in session.

t t.

Yelp
My husband and I have been going to this place for about 8 times when writing this review. We love the unadulterated food, clean and spacious environment. The dishes are authentic, the chefs are well trained. I am always surprised at the standard of their food!

Vincent L.

Yelp
Very delicious Chinese food. It's quite cost-effective, especially during lunch hours. Strongly recommended.

Yelp

We shared onion pancake which was nice and crispy, chicken homemade rice noodle soup and beef tips thick noodle soup. Everything was delicious but the beef dish stood out. Our 4 years old also enjoyed the soups and especially the crispy onion pancake. Will definitely be back when around the area :)

Yelp
Good comfort food but nothing to write home about. Hainan chicken was actually bai qie ji. Fast service at 4pm on Saturday! Wide variety of options and very chinese atmosphere with fun decor and lots of seating options.

Rose C.

Yelp
Here's a lame excuse... we were starving and also had to feed our hungry toddler, that we totally forgot to take any food pictures LOL. A great spot for a quick bite to eat. The place was clean and unassuming. The service was good. The food came out fast! We had... Taiwan beef noodles Taiwan beef noodle soup Pork Chop rice plate Hainan chicken rice plate - this dish came with a special yellow rice that is flavorful Every dish was very tasty and delicious!!!

Angela W.

Yelp
Overall the food was alright. It was a little bland and there wasn't much taste. However, the beef in the Taiwan beef noodle was really soft and good. The noodles were nice and chewy and the scallion pancake was crunchy. When we got there it was pretty busy cause there was a large party. But we were seated and the workers were nice. Someone took our order and food came pretty quick. I love the interior design and their bowls, plates, and cups.

Katherine L.

Yelp
Good stop for well priced Chinese food, albeit a lot of the dishes were kind of salty. Our waiter was very pleasant and funny, but was strangely unable to give recommendations for the dishes because they hadn't eaten from much of the menu which was a little strange to hear. Would recommend!

Nguyen T.

Yelp
I was be there but order Togo . They very clean. Staff nice and helpful. I order Hai Nam chicken rice it good chicken I voted 8.5/10 but I want give you guys 5 stars cuz price cheap and service good .

Katherine W.

Yelp
As someone who can eat noodles every single meal, I've found my place! Noodles Fresh is conveniently located in Downtown Berkeley. The restaurant is clean and modern, and service is great. Most importantly, the food is delicious and comes out so quickly! I prefer noodle soup over noodle plates (think stir-fry), but Noodles Fresh has all kinds of options, so you'll definitely find something you like. My favorite soups have been the Yunnan over-the-bridge and Hong Kong BBQ pork bowl. They also have traditional appetizers and entrees. I haven't tried their drinks, but they have an extensive menu (and what looks like beer on tap). I think Noodles Fresh is much more reasonably priced than other places around town, and if you come for lunch, it's even cheaper. $9.95 for a hearty bowl of noodles is unbeatable. Definitely check this place out if you're craving fresh, quick noodles!

Howell L.

Yelp
I ordered Noodles Fresh to go because my girlfriend was sick with a cold. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and clear. The atmosphere is nice for a meal with friends and family, with quiet music and pretty colors. My meal was nicely packaged and, when I got home, to my surprise, they'd packed us peanuts with a sticky note that said "Comp :)" which was a very pleasant surprise and delicious and perfectly salty. The soups were exactly what my boyfriend and I wanted. I especially liked the chewiness of the Taiwan beef noodles. The Yunnan over-the-bridge broth was what I always crave in a soup, clarifying and warm and subtle in its strong flavors. The bok choy was perfectly cooked as well. We ended up not finishing it all, but since the broths were separated from the food, it was easy enough to just refrigerate both soups for a round two. Really enjoyed this meal, it was the perfect warm dinner on a cold night. I plan to visit in person some time.

Jordan M.

Yelp
I went to noodle fresh yesterday and the service was terrible food was just ok nothing special when I left one of the waitress chased me out because I didn't tip the waitress for her terrible service tip is only given when service is phenomenal not when you ignore your customers and wait long time for service such a poor service I wouldn't recommend anyone to come to noodles fresh

Danielle K.

Yelp
We had such a nice and wonderful lunch here today! This was our first time, but have been making our rounds to all of the soup spots in town. The service here was SO sweet and made us feel like regulars. Very, very warm. We absolutely loved the huge porcelain bowls and plates used to serve the dishes. We ordered: 1. Sichuan Chili Fish Soup: great Sichuan flavor, but not spicy or numbing 2. Taiwan Beef Soup: a nice hearty bowl of soup, and the wheat noodles were perfectly chewy. 3. Beef Tendon appetizer: delicious! I would love to go back, but would request much more spice. Also, being able to add spice to the soups would be preferable.

Yelp
WHEN: 10/31/21 Sunday @ 6pm Was looking for a different place to eat but that place was closed so we walked into Noodles Fresh. The interior is beautiful and the place is big and clean. There were a few tables taken but mostly empty. Ordered the Dan Dan noodles ($12) and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup ($14). The food came out quick and the service was great! Both dishes were good portions! Just enough for 2 people to easily finish. The Dan Dan noodles were very good. There was a good amount of minced meat and the vinegar and mala was equally balanced out. The beef noodle soup came out fresh and was good but definitely not the best. The broth is a little lacking in flavor and depth. The meat was very tender and tne tendons were great. You can't really find good and authentic beef noodle soup here in berkeley but Noodles Fresh is a great contender!

Yelp
This place is so awesome had no clue that they opened a location in Berkeley, had been going to the other one for some time. Was glad to confirm that both are consistent and delicious in their quality. The portions fantastic and their Taiwan beef noodle is just the thing for a sad cold day. All their plates are great can't really go wrong and love that it's easy to get really great tea.

Yelp
Went to order takeout on a Saturday night. It looked like there was only one server available at that time. They took my order at the back counter and food came out very quickly. The restaurant wasn't busy but still incredibly quick. I ordered the Guilin beef tendon stew. I wouldn't exactly call it a stew but target rather stewed meat served on top of noodles with a sauce it was good though and would definitely be interested in trying out other items.

Yelp
This place has a fantastic menu and modern design and atmosphere, prices that feel fair, professional service. I've been in a few times for dates and such. My favorite is the vegetarian goose and hot sake.

Yelp
One of the newer places that opened during the pandemic, this place has really decent beef noodle soup. I used to get takeout all the time to eat at my apartment and the serving size was pretty big. The beef is nice and tender and the broth is nice and hearty. They do have sit down open as well, and it seems to be getting more populated, but as it's down on Shattuck, it is a bit further away from Berkeley campus. Servers are pretty fast and the food is warming and welcoming.

Yelp
When we first walked in, there was little amount of people sitting. We ordered Taiwanese beef noodle, chicken curry noodle, and guilian beef noodle (dry). Everything we tried tasted authentic and they serve free hot tea! They use what I think is rice tea and it was just amazing. You do not see these affordable prices in berkeley lately, but definitely not as seasoned as we liked. They were all friendly and we got black vinegar, chili oil and black soy sauce to season to our liking. When we finially looked up from eating our food, there was a crowd of people in the restaurant and definitely enjoying the tasteful asian inspired decor. The overall experience was welcoming and homestyle cooking. I would stop by here next time you are looking for a noodle shop to try in Berkeley.

Yelp
Solid food here! Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. Service was good and food came out quickly. My favorite dish was the grilled xinjiang lamb :)

Yelp
This is my favorite place to go to for Taiwanese beef noodle soup in Berkeley! The broth is very flavorful and comforting. They currently serve in disposable containers even for dine in. It was take out only the first time I came here, but this time I got to dine in and talk to the owner who was very welcoming and sweet! She was a civil engineer and after retiring she pursued her dream of opening and designing a restaurant which is super cool!
