I work around Abbot Kinney and am always looking for a decently priced lunch option. Enter Noods. I absolutely love noodles, so I was beyond excited to try this spot.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -- especially for an indecisive person like me -- pointing out what's popular, what they personally like, and what they recommend.
I chose to go the "build your own" route and landed on:
1. Base: Chili Garlic
2. Noodles: Yakisoba
3. Protein: Fire-grilled chicken
4. Toppings: Carrots, cabbage, red peppers, sesame seeds, crunchy chili garlic
The portions are solid -- I easily got two meals out of one bowl. Since I like spice, they gave me a side of their spicy sauce, which added both sweetness and heat. With all the sauce, it was definitely a bit messy, but the flavor was bold and the kick was real. The noodles and chicken were cooked well, though next time I might choose something a little less intense so I can better appreciate all the ingredients. With that much heat and garlic, some of the other flavors got lost.
All in all, lunch for about $25 on Abbot Kinney is a great deal, and I'll definitely be back to try more combinations!
