"SoCal staple Norms launched a new limited-time menu this week featuring Southern and barbecue dishes. On the menu is a full rack of baby back ribs, plus a massive Country Kitchen Skillet with bacon, sausage, ham, tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheddar, and jack cheese over hash browns, topped with country gravy and two eggs any style." - Mona Holmes

Google
Joaquin always provides us with excellent service. He is friendly, personable and professional. The food is always delicious and we love the seasonal menus. Not to mention the great music makes us feel very nostalgic. We love it at Norm's Huntington Beach. Thank you.

Google
Sometimes it's a hit ,Sometimes it's a miss!!! Today it was a miss , I ordered the Steak dinner my whole order was cold. I was so hungry that I ate it that way. My husband ordered the Steak breakfast his Steaks was cold and his eggs undercooked. Very disappointed 😞

Google
I generally love a good 24 hour diner especially for breakfast. IMO, Norms was mediocre. Food average, service (decent) and atmosphere, clean and plenty of seating, diner vibe for sure.

Google
Im accused of leaving only bad reviews at times. I really try to give credit to great places too. On the way here from Phoenix we had a horrendous experience in Banning CA at a place we had always enjoyed in the past. We are here in HB for the weekend, and found this Gem. Everything was amazing. Service, food, pricing. Will definitely be back. Looks like this is a chain in SoCal, which is better as well. Thank you for a great experience.

Google
Norms is a classic! I love coming to Norms when I’m craving a hearty meal. The menu has something for everyone, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always friendly. Joaquin is one of the best servers—always attentive, upbeat, and makes the experience even better. It’s got that old-school diner vibe and is open 24/7, which is a huge plus! Definitely one of my go-to spots for a casual, satisfying meal.

Google
Great place to grab late night eats. Thr blackened salmon. Comes with soup and salad, plus vegetables and a baked potato. For 18.99 Great deal enough food for two. The server was super nice and attentive. The meal arrived quickly. Very happy. The tomato soup was delicious.

Google
Norms is great place for a good quick meal. Nothing fancy just your good old neighborhood dinner serving a fair meal that tastes good and is filling. See lots of locals stopping in for breakfast and a cup of coffee that gets topped off quickly. I like the steak and eggs. They have multiple chooses from t-bone to sirloin to New York. And their Eggs Benedict is classic and good. Or their offer several other versions too. For Huntington Beach, this place has been here forever and is loved by the locals. Everybody knows Norms.

Google
Jody & the rest of this amazing restaurant employees really make the place a great environment to eat at. They’re so helpful. The chefs make the most incredible food from the extensive menu. We’ve been coming here for over 31yrs.because of the delicious quality of food & the staff. We definitely recommend this location!

Yelp
EXTREMELY surprised that Norm's has REALLY STEPPED IT UP from back in the day. Not sure how long this place has been here because I've only been once over 30 years ago (or more)!! Came here with a friend for a late dinner recently because it was the only place open that late. I had a delicious veggie burger. Yesterday we came back for breakfast and it was pretty crowded. The restaurant itself can accommodate plenty of people. I had a veggie omelet which came with hash browns and a choice of one more side, which also included pancakes. I opted for them because they offered sugar free syrup upon request. My friends had corned beef hash, French toast & strawberry pancakes. The coffee is incredible here. Truly "Coffee shop" coffee iykyk... As noted they were quite busy, but the only recommendation would be to step up the quantity of servers, especially during peek hours.

Leah Y.

Yelp
Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food here. I ordered a veggie omelette with egg whites and a side of fruit. The side of fruit was pretty good and sweet, but not a ton of variety (2 different melons). As for the omelette, it was very greasy. When I would try to cut through the eggs, a bunch of butter or something would just ooze out of it. I ordered the omelette without cheese, so I was surprised to the amount of butter and grease that there was. In addition the omelette came with a side of toast, which I was disappointed to see came served absolutely slathered in butter as opposed to just bread with a side of butter. The service was pretty good. Our food came out quickly, and our waitress was pretty friendly. Our tables were clean enough, but the syrup did look a little funky and we asked for a different one. Other than that, the restaurant itself has plenty of seating to choose from (booths, chairs, bars) and you can easily come here with the family or a big group. Overall, this is just an average breakfast chain restaurant. Nothing outstanding in terms of food taste or quality.

Yelp
Haven't been to a Norms in ages and was pleasantly surprised! We had the steak and eggs with pancakes, then added fries and chicken strips. Such a steal! All of this food for only $27. Love their ranch!Prices went up as other yelpers mentioned, but still great pricing. Our server Billy was very attentive! The host was also friendly. Very clean restaurant, will be back again soon!

Yelp
Birthday and Breakfast at Norms Restaurant go hand in hand. Coffee is my cup of choice and the lovely missus chose apple juice drink. She orders a thick big round Waffle and the syrup is already on the table. I've wanted to try that new breakfast sandwich; BBB, it is a soft bun filled with a slice of ham, two sausages, two crispy strips of bacon and topped with two overhard fried eggs. This plate is also filled with American Taters and a fresh ranch dressing for dipping. Norms made the birthday breakfast a great start of the Bday.

Rosa L.

Yelp
The food was better than I expected. The portions were big. I would definitely come back. The workers were all super friendly.

Michael P.

Yelp
Great food, Friend staff, nice place , Affordable price, highly recommended for everyone

Yelp
Good glory night, Let me start off by briefing on how delectable the pancakes were and how perfectly the cholula blended with the eggs and hashbrowns. The waitress had such an uplifting and warm presence I felt as though I was around my aunt. The brief interruption of our addict friend was very warm and incurring, as his yelling felt much like my last relationships. He seemed a little agitated and called us seaworms, however the degradation felt very familiar. My favorite part is the 24/7 service! Anyways. as their motto says "where life happens" I feel as tho the most life has happened here and also the most life lost as well.

Dany K.

Yelp
We had Norms yesterday for breakfast. I had the El Benedicto which was egg benedict with chorizo on a sope. It was actually pretty good. Only thing was the egg was not poached. It was hard boiled lol! It's okay though. I still enjoyed it. My husband had the Melting Pot omelette with a side of biscuit and gravy. And of course, my son had his chicken tenders hehe. But he was really hungry so we brought it home. Overall it's a nice to go to after a night of partying and not wanting to cook the next morning. The service was not too bad. It took a while for us to get our food, but they were pretty busy. There were families everywhere enjoying a nice Sunday morning breakfast.

Yelp
Been going here for years as a kid. Since the pandemic, things have change. One thing, the remodeling. However, some of the nostalgia items are gone like that big sundae. During major holidays, expect the place to be packed Came in for Father's Day. The tables can fit a max of 5 people but expect to wait for the bigger booth in the corner or by the entrance. The menu has been revamp with increase price and most of the nostalgia items are gone. All dinner options still comes with soup and salad and choice of potatoes, unless you got the pasta option Overall, it's still very good for what it's worth.

Neida R.

Yelp
We come here a lot but after I don't think I will return due the male host. I always dread walking in and seeing him seat people. I have a severe knee injury he seats us sooo far in the back of restaurant as to if they had an emergency I would never survive due to my limited walking. There were plenty of booths up front that was empty but obviously Norms does not train their host of the safety of their customers. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that do so needless to say after this visit will be the last unfortunately.

Kris B.

Yelp
We recently moved to Huntington Beach and are checking out as many restaurants as possible. We re-discovered Norms after years of not going to one. We've been here 3 times now in the last two weeks. First visit breakfast - my husband got the 4 Deuces Breakfast $8.99 - 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs. I had the Cali-Cado Benny - Eggs Benedict with avocado, bacon bits, baked tomatoes. I had the side of fruit instead of hashbrowns, but the fruit seemed a little old like it had been sitting a bit so I didn't eat it. Then we came for the Buy One Baby Rack Rib dinner and get one free. (Norm's 24/7 Rewards) My husband's ribs seemed okay, mine were a bit charred and black. But for free, not worth complaining about. We added side salads with blue cheese dressing. Blue cheese dressing a bit runny but overall salad was fine. This morning was our third visit, breakfast again. For me Cali-Cado again, this time I got hashbrowns. They were undercooked so I know next time to request extra crispy or get tomato slices instead. Side of bacon (4 for $3.99) was excellent! Crispy and meaty, the best kind. My husband got the free SoCal Breakfast (24/7 Rewards) We also ordered a side of biscuit and gravy. I'm not sure how much it cost because it was not on the menu, but the biscuit was light and fluffy, good gravy. Service all three visits was fast, efficient, attentive. Prompt coffee and iced tea refills.

Mike H.

Yelp
Eat here once a month or so. Great little place, staff are always polite, friendly, and helpful. Food is good, when you consider the price, the food is great. Yesterday, after 10 pm. I got blackened salmon to share. Plenty of food, salad lettuce crisp and fresh, tomato soup, delicious. Baked potato came with butter, sour cream and chives. Salmon was very good, nice size piece, veggies squash, were a little mushy but still good. Everything came fast and fresh.

Dat N.

Yelp
I know inflation is real but this is an absolute joke, I ordered the sirloin steak dinner and it was pathetic, way over cooked and the size of the piece of steak looked like it belonged on the kids menu. I should have asked for two pieces of bread and make a steak sandwich out of it.

Robert P.

Yelp
1 1/2 minute read: I meant to post this the day we had breakfast at NORMS Huntington Beach but I totally forgot. Early that morning, we were running errands in Huntington Beach when my wife spots one of my favorite "BREAKFAST SERVED ALL DAY" restaurants Yep, you guessed itNORMS. Their menu is not extensive or elaborate but whatever you have, you'll leave "Full Stomach, Happy Heart." I usually have the T-Bone Steak & Eggs, Rye Toast and the pancakes. Can't leave them out. My wife isn't shy, either. She'll attack their Two Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Ham, Hash browns, and Wheat toast. I just got hungry. BTW, this NORMS has sufficient parking. It's on Beach Blvd. about 3 1/2 miles from PCH. The Service was very good. I'll keep you updated. Thanks P.S. I'm not captioning any photo, so if you have a question, please message me.

Yelp
Bad bad bad bad service! this person BRAYA was just not equipped to service people. Very unqualified to be in food service line of work.

Martin N.

Yelp
Beautiful time with the service of Mr. Joaquin. He's a wonderful service. Our portions are our favourite. We like this Huntington Beach location better than other locations. Recommend this location.

Danielle N.

Yelp
I would put negative stars if possible. I know the expectations should be low when it comes to norms but this is horrible! The food was undercooked and dirty. Our server was absent and wouldn't come around. I immediately started sweating and getting an upset stomach. Not one person cared! I will definitely be calling the health department and will be going to the ER because I should not be feeling this way and getting this sick!

Ruby N.

Yelp
The food was quick and marvelous! The service was excellent the lady was really nice. The ambiance gave off 50's vibes which is very comforting and nostalgic!

Eugene A.

Yelp
My cousin and aunt brought me to my first time at Norms. We chose this location that is conveniently located along Beach Blvd near the intersection of Heil Avenue. We were immediately seated despite the rush on a Sunday during lunch. The ambiance is very spacious and I like the blue-green colors of the table booths. Their choice of music playing hit singles from the 50s and 60s adds to the nostalgic diner ambiance. I ordered a Country Fried Chicken dinner for lunch. The entire order comes with a side salad (choose your dressing) and choice of their soup of the day. I got lucky with their soup because it was a creamy and savory version of Chicken Noodle Soup. The side salad was pretty watery that the honey mustard dressing struggled to stick well with the greens. Service was pretty decent as we received our orders within 10-15 minutes. One of the things we had to ask was for more water. The fried chicken was crunchy and well-breaded. I opted for their crispy fries and requested a side of honey mustard sauce (since I no longer consume ketchup). It also came with a cream sauce that was not too salty. It came with steamed carrots but were over steamed. Overall, I'll still be back at Norms to try other entrees.

Yelp
I wanted to start off 2024 with a proper meal, so the first thing that came to mind was a plate full of my daily favorites: steaks, eggs, and crispy potatoes, followed by pillowy, sweet, fluffy pancakes as a finisher. The steak was cooked a perfect medium-rare, just like I asked for, and the egg yolks were still runny when I got my food. I noticed that the restaurant seemed to be understaffed and the waiter appeared to be overworked during my visit. There were many customers but only one waiter, creating a high customer-to-waiter ratio of approximately 8:1 when I arrived at around 1:30 am. I don't mean to criticize the service, but this observation stood out to me. The ambiance is the same at every Norm's restaurant, but this location happens to be one of the cleaner ones when compared to the other locations in Santa Ana. Luckily for me, this one is right down the street from my work so I'll be frequenting here more often in the future.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Came here late on a Saturday night a couple weeks ago.. we were sat quickly and served quickly.. our waitress was friendly and food was good.. haven't been to Norms in awhile but we will definitely be back as we know we can get something decent to eat :)

les l.

Yelp
when one of the highlights of this establishment is the person cleaning the tables and picking up the dirty dishes, that is not a good sign. the host ignored my party's request for a baby chair, rolled her eyes at us when we asked the waiter to get one for us since she refused to. the food was cold for nearly all of us and the waiter was simply overwhelmed to give us any attention. the host had a really bad case of acne she tried to cover up with a full face of cakey makeup, just a terrible experience overall.

Alan L.

Yelp
Arrived around 6am to an empty restaurant. We grabbed a booth by the front window and put our coffee order in. I choose the Classic Bigger Better breakfast and my wife ordered scrambled eggs and pancakes. Was surprised how long it took to arrive given we were one of three tables . Also, the prices have gone through the roof since we came here last. At least 30% higher in 6 months. Lastly, the maple syrup is aweful. As a long time customer I find it hard to justify spending this kind of money for this quality of food. It's just not worth it!

Glen M.

Yelp
Just okay. Service was good but the food was just okay. Ordered a ham and cheese omelette. It comes with a side and I selected the biscuit and gravy. For me, the gravy was tasteless. Either they don't add sausage grease to it or they don't add enough. It's served on its own plate and it is a large biscuit smothered in gravy. My mouth was watering but I only had two bites. I used to live in Oklahoma and Texas so this was the biggest disappointment. The omelette and the hash browns were good. As mentioned, service was good, the table was clean and the check was brought quickly. I guess it would be good in a pinch and I'd order a different side next time. Enjoy!

My W.

Yelp
Don't attack me but... it's pretty much comfort food at great comfort prices. Could it be a lil cleaner? Sure... but the old people dining here can barely see the food left on the cushions anyways. No biggie. I just had them wipe down the seats. And homie was happy to help me out. Love this for me. Good food. Great prices. Reminds me of home... I mean, home if my parents were white. Which they aren't but... if I was Caucasian, I imagine this would be what home cooking would be like. Norms. The nostalgic feeling of home. Without the family drama.

Zaynah A.

Yelp
after all these years and coming back eating here with my husband one morning , the food , coffees, service, and everything was top tier!! This place has great amazing foods and its not that expensive either!! And open 24/7!!! This place is still fire even after years of coming back eating their!! If you want an early morning breakfast or any time of the day good comforting food , this is the place for sure!! My husband loved it and its gonna be our pitstop for morning breakfast from now on!!

Joanne J.

Yelp
Excellent liver and onions, you could cut it with a fork. It was so very tender. The steak and eggs was good as well, the steak was just a little chewy. The side salad was extremely refreshing and the ranch was bomb. Also got the gumbo that was good but not very spicy.....but still good.

Evelyn T.

Yelp
I had not eaten at NORMS in years, I'm so glad to have rediscovered this NORMS. The food was good and the service was excellent our waitress Lorraine was the BEST!!! We stopped by on Sunday AROUND 11AM, it was busy but despite how busy it was we barely waited any time and were seated right away. We definitely are adding this NORMS to our Sunday morning family breakfast rotation.

Ricardo M.

Yelp
Linsie was soooooo pleasant. Every time she came over I couldn't stop smiling. She was friendly, fun, professional and courteous-everything you would expect from a service professional! By the way, the food was delicious, our order was perfect and the prices very reasonable.

Cheri W.

Yelp
We got a five dining service from Eddie tonight. He's above & beyond to ensure we are pleased with our meal & service. We felt very welcome & will be back for more.

Don D.

Yelp
Excellent food with good prices and excellent service! The kids menu prices were exceptional too. I had their steak n eggs breakfast and I'm always leary about breakfast steaks but this one was very good, flavorful and juicy. Great place for breakfast!

Salvador T.

Yelp
There's parking all around the restaurant and there seems to be space available even during the busiest hours. Customer service is generally friendly and welcoming. The front end does a good job with keeping a line of customers and making sure you're seated as soon as possible, usually within 15-30 minutes. I recommend any omelette on the menu as all have delivered. On the contrary, the restrooms could be better kept. Provecho!

Deanne R.

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to come here for lunch. I have never been here other than breakfast. Wow surprisingly good... did you know if you are a AAA member you get a discount??? Well you do... Today our server was Rosa thank you for giving us great service. Our food was delicious highly recommended

Nancy B.

Yelp
The food here is always fresh and good! Customer service is great too. Like family. Also, sign up for rewards!

Anna I.

Yelp
Love Norms. We come to this location on the way to San Diego. There was a Norms in Encino but it closed which made us sad. Wish they would open another location in Woodland Hills. Food is always tasty. We ordered the special of pork chops, eggs and hash brown. Cane with two pancakes but I hit those to go and took one pork chop to go too. It was a fantastic left over din din. All Norms are the same. This one was clean, accommodating and had good service.

Sherly S.

Yelp
Had a meal for dinner for me and my husband. We got our order completely wrong. Called the same day and asked for manager. They said she had left and I am hearing laughs as if I said something funny. I felt disrespected. If this is the type of people you guys hire to be management, this could be better. I was advised to call the following morning so I did. Manager said refund would be processed but never was done. I would like for the manager Maribel and Fidel to process my refund as soon as possible since it has been almost 2 months or provide food credit.

Elaine B.

Yelp
I love Norms new 7 dollar menu. Large variety. Just had The turkey dinner. yummy. By the way yhe Nirms on Beach Blvd is the best!!! I love the server Lindsey.

Jacque T.

Yelp
Did not enjoy our meal and the way our waiter was acting . Weird vibes . Also another waitress treated us as if we were talking too long to eat and other people were there before us and they weren't rushing them . Will never step foot in this place again !!!

Lianna S.

Yelp
They have decent food and decent service but still a good place to eat plus we don't really go to often

D H.

Yelp
Norms, open 24/7, offers good food served in good quantity at reasonable prices combined with welcoming courteous attentive service is deserving of 5 stars. Basic diner appearance that is clean and bright. We enjoy the breakfast any time of day. And, Norms burgers are a favorite, second only to In-N-Out for quality and price.

Marvin M.

Yelp
Norms has been a part of me since a child. While some items are better than others (don't get the steak which I end up getting and then regret it every time). But i can't hate on Norms minus their workers are overworked and not paid enough for the bs they encounter. Tip them please!!!! Otherwise decent amounts of food, good prices, sit down with tables and booths, and famous slogan we never close which is 98% true as of recent priorly it was a fact.

Terri W.

Yelp
I used to like to eat here. The food was decent and portions were good. Now the food is terrible. Had the T-bone steak and it looked like they cut out the better part of the steak. The meat was tough. The bake potato was small and steamed, difficult to eat. The amount of veggies are less. This place used to be good, but since they change management years back , I had noticed the difference but thought with time, management would realize their mistakes, but it's worst - trying to skimp to make a savings and the patrons are getting shorted. This place used to get pack, not anymore. I will not go back.

Van N.

Yelp
If you're looking for something to eat early in the morning this is your spot. Drove out here at 3am for some classic country fried steak with a side of gravy. Service was pretty quick.

Jese S.

Yelp
We stumbled across Norms on the way through town. We were hungry for breakfast and we left satisfied. I have never seen such a big bottle of Tabasco on the table of any restaurant. I get that I am not a coffee drinker and it's difficult to find a place that will keep you supplied in hot water refills. I was surprised when they actually did. Everything was as expected, nothing stood out as amazing. Solid diner food and breakfast. reminds me of Denny's for those of you who have never been.

John R.

Yelp
Lived by this location a few years ago (pre COVID), place was always packed. I moved close to the Orange location and have pretty much given up going there. Anyway, the HB location is about a 20 min drive but honestly we'll worth the drive. Was shopping in HB today and stopped by. Linsie has taken care of me the couple times I've been able to get here. She's prompt, gets my order right, and talked the chiefs to get my food timely! And the chiefs do a great job turning out Norms meals the way you expect when you stop by. Good honest food at a reasonable price. I was there about 20 minutes (sit down to dine with my meal), management checked with me twice to make sure I was happy! This locations may not have the newest equipment but the employees make it easy to overlook any shortcomings. If you're in the OC a and want to find a Norms, I highly recommend this location, give it a try, I think you will be happy you did!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
We hadn't ate all day today and still wanted brekfast so we went to norms. We went toothed one away from out house because and glad we did. Haven't been to HB Norms in a while and glad we came back. The food was hot, good and it disappoint. Norms is a little bit pricier now but it was worth it. Clean restaurant, nice staff and good food.

Kevin M.

Yelp
My wife stopped in Saturday mid morning for breakfast. Have not been at this particular Norms in several years. Joe was our waiter keeping our beverages topped off. My wife decided on a Belgian Waffle with Turkey Bacon while I opted for Steak & Eggs with Hashbrowns and an English muffin. Our meals came out relatively quickly, hot, and delicious. My steak was fairly good. The restaurant was clean and well kept.

Yolanda H.

Yelp
My favorite thing about Norms is the fact that they have a host named EDDIE who is racist and the store manager Vicky doesn't do crap about removing the racist teenager from this location. INSTEAD, she just allows the behavior by excusing it and saying that EDDIE is only a teenager from high school. I'm sorry he's a high schooler teenager but he shouldn't even be working there if he thinks it's funny to be racist. Then he change the story which Vicky obviously accepted. On top of that, district manager never seemed to get a hold of me on this matter so clearly racism is perfectly fine at this location! RACISM is clearly perfectly fine

Danny P.

Yelp
Ok so I've been here many times the service is usually fine and food is usually fine .. I was there at 230 am so pretty late . Waitress tells me I remind her of the day she was drinking wine and got a rash on her face . Now I don't have a rash on my face but I did have a few drinks probably die to my fair skin had maybe red on my face but I don't think that is something that should be said to customers .. that's like me telling her that I once had gained a lot of weight and looked like her .
