Where to Find the Best Locally Made THC Drinks in the Twin Cities | Eater Twin Cities

"Dashfire’s THC coolers — offered in a dark cherry and juniper bramble flavor, or a spicy passionfruit margarita — are made with five milligrams of THC. They’re available for onsite consumption or to-go; note that customers at the cocktail room must choose either THC or alcohol for the evening and stick with it." - Ryan Meaney

Minnesota Distilleries Making the Best in Local Liquor | Eater Twin Cities

"Norseman, the first legal micro distillery in Minneapolis since the days of prohibition, crafts a notable list of products including an organic, vapor infused gin, an organic bourbon barrel aged rum, a premium vodka and seasonal gins. Google
Really liked this place. Great cocktails, good food, fun staff! We had a few pizzas and I found the brie and pear pizza delightful (added bacon and this is the correct choice). The old fashioned and last word are really well made as well. The place is nice and has kind cozy vibes. Great place to grab drinks with friends and still be able to hear the conversation.

Google
This place is quite the interesting find. It has a highly eclectic drink menu, presumably due to the art of cocktail craft that goes into its design. This place is not 3 Busch lights after work. They clearly take pride in their craft and the quality (and price) reflects that. Their cocktail (manhattan, last word, and strawbarb gimlet) were delicious. The pizzas are of the 12 inch variety and not more into a new York style crust and California style toppings. They use quality ingredients for excellent flavor. The cocktails are more craft than process, but I have no complaints. They really lean into the flavor profiles and a wide breadth of complementary flavors. My only criticism is how busy they got after our first order and they probably could have used an additional bat tender to keep up. He was hustling, but only one man.

Google
I liked their non alcoholic drink options..ambiance is pretty decent and food is mainly not different varieties of pizza. Pizza is hand tossed and good enough!! There is ample room for parking. Overall a good hangout place.

Google
Here with locals. One of the bartenders was actually from our neck of the woods (North Jersey). Very nice, airy drinking hole.

Played Bungo here with friends and it was fun. They had a good drinks menu and pizzas! Recommend giving them a try!

Just a great Sat afternoon experience. Enjoyed the Harvest Whiskey and pizza. Excellent service.

Google
Updating my review. We visited Norseman distillery on Taft St. in Minneapolis again, and I still recommend it! I love that they do flights, so you can try 4 of their offerings at a time. I tried both gins, their aged aquavit, and their Danske aquavit. They were all interesting. I find navy strength gin a bit "hot", but a little water fixed that. Their cocktails are excellent, imaginative and fun. My husband had the Kafka on the Shore. It is very complex and topped with a shitake meringue!! I had the Yellow jacket, and despite my trepidation, found it super good. Their Reyk cocktail, which is whiskey based, was also well balanced. They have a super interesting way of smoking the cocktail and serving it. We tried one of their pizzas. Great crust, wild toppings...we had the banh mi pizza. Good but not great. The bartenders are super knowledgeable about their products and about cocktails. You can get things at the bar you cannot buy. That is very cool indeed. I highly recommend stopping by!

Google
We decided to pivot for date night and went here on a Saturday night. Excellent selection of drinks, delicious appetizers and pleasant service. We had a lot of fun sharing a flight as well, looking forward to going back again soon.

Yelp
I've been here to grab items from their to go section before and always love it. Last night was my first time getting to be there for an event and it was a blast. Every Tuesday they hold bungo and give away Great prizes from the distillery and local businesses. I got the gin and tonica and it was by far one of the most delicious drinks I've had in a while. Beautifully presented and well balanced complex flavor. I took them down a star because the website had some boards of food available on Tuesday we were looking forward to getting but upon ordering we were informed they aren't offered on Tuesdays. Otherwise a great experience and I look forward to heading back to the cozy, beautifully lit space!

Yelp
We went for a couple drinks before a show at the US Bank Stadium. Server was well educated to provide suggestions. We enjoyed the bartenders choice - it was fun as it was a drink crafted for the concert we saw! We ordered the fries. They were ok. Nothing spectacular just fine. We got more than half way through and found a small black curly hair tangled in a fry. Brought it up to the server and was given the opportunity for a new set or half off. The patio was a cute ambiance. Could have sat out there for a while if we hadn't been in a rush to get moving.

Yelp
Great spot ! Came here for a birthday celebration. The staff were very gracious in hosting 20 of us. Cocktails were fantastic but the star of the show is a liquor flights. For the price, it's really worth it. Their Rye Whiskey is my favorite thing on the menu. Also got the old fashioned and the whiskey sour. Both fantastic . I

Yelp
I've definitely been sleeping on this place! Went for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. I don't remember what I got but it was something with gin and berry and it was perfectly refreshing and cozy at the same time. Patio is huge and beautiful, they have a fire going sometimes, and the inside is super cute. Will be back!

Yelp
Fun cocktails with lots of rum, whiskey and gin options and a few vodka ones. You order via the barcode at your table and then the servers bring the drinks to your table. We went on a Tuesday night and service was a little slow since they appeared to be a bit understaffed (about 30 min for each round of drinks to come out). There are also non alcoholic options, but you could only do "bartenders choice" via the app for the NA drinks. Not sure if they have a way for you to request a specific NA drink. The venue itself is pretty cozy and you can reserve tables for groups up to 10. They also have a foodtruck outside serving Mexican food, but the night we went, they were out of a lot of ingredients. However, you can't beat a burrito with your drinks. The drinks themselves were more on the sweeter side, which I really liked. They also had a big fishbowl that came with a rubber duck and dry ice, which was pretty fun.

Yelp
Came on a Friday evening with no reservation and was able to sit at the bar. There were tons of spaces available. Cocktails here are much sweeter than they used to be, but are still good! It's also great to see a food menu. I opted for the Gin Tonica - loved the rosemary and lavender garnishes. My husband got the Royk. The bartenders were great!

Yelp
One of my favorite distilleries in Minneapolis! Very industrial and modern environment but with cozy lighting. I love their Oh My Glogg cocktail during the fall. Just the right amount of spice. So many well-balanced cocktails here!

Yelp
Broken record... but we love Norseman! The woman behind the photo was the culprit of our visit to Norseman today! She's obsessed with their Old Fashion gummies & their Bloom & Co. THC drink. Lillihammer, Naked & Infamous, Old Fashion(SMOKED) & Roses & Thorne's. Their old menu was my favorite, but they put out some amazing drinks in their updated menu! Don't forget to ask for their bartenders choice! I got to enjoy the Seaside tonight! Love the staff! They always make us feel welcome! Their drinks don't disappoint & their staff takes great care of you!

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends on a weeknight. Came early enough so there was really not much of a wait, but you can also reserve a table for up to 10 people which is a nice option. Drinks were good craft cocktails, some ranging up to $26. I will say this place is much darker, closed off, and dingier than displayed in many of the Yelp photos, so something to keep in mind. Very dimly lit inside, probably a better fit for summer. Good for groups, there's even a food truck outside, recommend ordering two drinks at a time as it took like 30+ minutes for each drink to be brought out, an insanely long amount of time for not even being that busy that night. 2 stars off because the waitress behind the bar had a very negative demeanor when serving. She was rolling her eyes at some of us when delivering drinks, she made it very uncomfortable. I get times are tough right now, but fix your attitude. She seemed to only be rude to POC, there I said it and I know a few of us were thinking it that night. Not sure what her deal was and I certainly won't rate the whole place based on the interactions with this one particular person, but I was pretty disappointed by the customer service. Other fun distilleries in the twin cities where you're treated with dignity, not sure this is the best one to try, but if you're on a tour of distilleries and are nearby may as well swing by Norseman.

Yelp
Cool drinks in a cool space. Came on a Thursday around 6 and it wasnt too busy. We were able to sit at the bar which was cool to get to watch them make drinks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The whole space feels really airy and welcoming. Their menu is broken down into signature, fresh/seasonal and vintage drinks. We tried the botanist, Hemingway ramos and the c. Bradshaw off of the seasonal section. The Hemingway was like key lime pie in a drink! They got the flavor spot on. A little too sweet for me but my partner really liked it. Also a little too steep at $19. I really liked the botanist that I got. The bell pepper flavor wasn't too overwhelming. Definitely a unique mix of flavors.

Yelp
Visited on a Monday evening before flying out of the Twin Cities, and we are so glad that we did! Our only disappointment was that the food truck was closed, and their website said it would be open. To have a good option right there would have been great (and the menu sounded amazing). We had previously run across Norseman's "Green Label" gin and loved it. We were blown away by sampling some of their other offerings. Everything was so yummy. These guys know what they are doing. After a flight (pro tip: get a flight and then take $10 off of purchasing a bottle to go), was also tried two cocktails. The Back Forty was excellent. The Gin Tonico was one of the best drinks I have ever tasted. Finally, our bartender Shane was incredible. We were so happy we chose to sit at the bar and chat with him, plus Milo who was serving was kind enough to say hi from time to time. Thanks, guys, and thanks Norseman for an awesome evening. Next time we'll have to come when the kitchen is open.

Yelp
Did you know they were the first legal distiller in Minneapolis since prohibition. The website says so! That's a cool fact I did not know. The ascetic here is awesome & I really enjoyed the craft cocktail bartenders. One thing I didn't like was using the QR code to order from your table & having to close out each time you want a drink. They only have a running tab for the bar area. We eventually just kept going up to the bar instead. They have plenty of available parking. During my recent visit I enjoyed a few cocktails with friends. My favorite was the Old Fashioned, as I love a good spirit forward cocktail. The menu is quite large & I think their is soemthing for everyone! They even have a few N/A options! Emerald Point: Made with Norseman Green Label gin, fresh celery juice, lime juice, & simple syrup. This was an interesting cocktail. They actually have it pre-batched on tap. It was a little heavy on the celery juice for my taste buds, but I can see why it's a popular drink for others. Plus it's such a pretty drink! I wouldn't order it again. Old Fashioned: Norseman harvest whiskey, aromatic bitters, & demerara sugar. Duck not included. ( it actually came with a different drink, but I asked very nicely because I thought it was so cute) Classic and nailed it! I love a good Old Fashioned! Botanist: yellow bell peppers, danske (lemon & dill aquavit), dark brown simple, & fresh lime, jalapeño bitters. I loved this cocktail it was so refreshing.

Yelp
I just love Norseman Distillery! This place is like a little hidden gem - an unexpectedly relaxing/chill environment inside a distillery. The cocktail list isn't huge, which I enjoy because they all look so delicious. And I can honestly say I've never had a bad drink. The ordering system is super efficient (you order via your phone at your table, and the bartender brings you your drink) and I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for drinks to arrive. Norseman also offers mixing classes and ping pong nights. If you're looking for a great place to meet friends, go on a date or just grab a drink, check this place out!

Yelp
Cool and unique cocktails on the menu. To order, patrons are required to use their smartphones to place their drink order. There are no servers, and you cannot order at the bar. There are food trucks outside for food, but the distillery itself does not have a food menu. The taco food truck outside was good. I would skip the guac and chips though. The guac didn't taste fresh at all, and tasted like some premade mix! Also, the bathroom signs say "Clean Bathrooms". However, they were absolutely disgusting. Must be some kind of sick joke! I would avoid and wait to the bathroom if you can! Lol
google avatar

Yelp
This distillery is awesome. The food truck is great along with the service and ambiance. I will gladly come back and make this a rotation in my outings.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the tacos at the taco truck. The pastor tacos were wonderful. The vibe is good. They have a lot of offerings. Shark bait was really nice. The Paloma felt too flat and bland. It could have used a bit more acidity. So that was too bad. Either way, I'm always a fan of hitting up Norseman for a great food truck, good drinks, and a nice vibe,

Yelp
Stopped by @norseman_distillery yesterday with @jvorarath & @kaaaaayleexx What a cute lil spot! I love the patio and the decor is a whole vibe. The food was okay, a lil bland but the cocktails were soooo good! The straw-barb Fitzgerald was so tasty w/ strawberry rhubarb gin. I'll definitely be back here to try some others it was a great way to get out of the house for a little bit. Isla has been sick all week and man did mama need a break Are you a patio person!? Do you prefer to eat inside or on the patio? I didn't know I love patios until I experienced MN summer. I'll never go back now swipe to the end to see my beautiful friend

Yelp
While some other local twin cities distilleries have fallen down in quality and experience this past year, Norseman has raised the bar with great service, fantastic spirits, and an overall fun destination distillery experience. GREAT: This is a great cocktail room to visit, and I'd feel that way even if there wasn't a distillery attached. The otherwise ugly loading dock makes a charming outdoor patio, and the interior drinking area is always nice. (I miss being able to drink right at the bar, but blame that on COVID.) As for the distillery, I like everything Norseman makes. During a time when most other twin cities distilleries have slipped on innovation or watered down their cocktail room experience, Norseman has stepped up. It's one of very few distilleries where it's fun to just do shots, because their liqueurs they make are that good. This distillery no longer has food of its own (which I miss) but they do have great visiting food trucks. And it's nice to be able to order food and drinks in the same mobile website, and have the food brought right to your table. No having to wait in line outside and fumble for cash. MEH: My only criticism (and its a small one) is that the cocktail list could use a refresher. But it's not like I'm bored by what they offer -- far from it.

Jen H.

Yelp
You'll be waiting at least a half hour when you order drinks via table QR, and when they do show up they're delivered by a waiter looking at you like you're the asshole. Bar also apparently closes at 9 on Saturday (open til 10) but they continue to let you order drinks via QR, which means at 945 another annoyed waiter will come explain that they've refunded your order since you did it wrong. There was no last call or sign indicating the bar closed. Could have gone to a better bar in the meantime. Never seen such a miserable exasperated group of wait staff. Time to close if you hate running a bar so much.
google avatar

Cassie M.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails and spacious outdoor seating. Enjoyed margaritas last night with my friend to celebrate her birthday and life post-vax! She loved the "Straw-barb Fitzgerald" (strawberry rhubarb gin, lemon, strawberry syrup, aromatic bitters) while I stuck with refreshing margs (tehkeela, fresh lime, orange liqueur, simple syrup, grapefruit bitters). We also noshed on corn chips and pico de gallo salsa, as well as roasted garlic and herbs French fries from the food truck. The hearty portion of fries was more than enough for two to share, and the Alabama BBQ and Carolina Gold dipping sauces were tasty. Ordering is all mobile via QR code, tables were spaced out, and there were plenty of open tables both outside and inside in this large space. The patio heaters were nice since it got a bit chilly after sunset. We'll be back!
google avatar

Lauryn F.

Yelp
The best crafted cocktails, great staff and cute vibes! Nice spot for a date night, meeting up with coworkers or getting together with friends/family. Lots of space and have a lovely outdoor seating stress area. There was a food truck when I visited, hoping to try it next time. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're in the cities!
google avatar

Yelp
A fun, neat place, but not inexpensive drinks (I think I'm just use to different level of costs for beverages). I had the El Presidente and it has kick, the way I like it, but my wife gagged on it. She preferred the 'Premier'. They have a nice outdoor patio to sit and relax on. Dogs are welcome on the patio. Kids are allowed until 8pm (city Ordinance). Many different brands of gin. The pictures are not of this place but from food from the I Heart Tacos food truck.
google avatar

Yelp
On this one all the stars aligned wrong. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 kids on a gorgeous summer evening. Our vision was to sample gins and have dinner. We asked for a table on the patio. The staff told us they didn't have a table for seven. We pointed to two side-by-side open tables that could have been pulled together. After much negotiation, they fessed up that people just hang out at tables and don't drink and eat. We promised to drink and eat but it still took some more negotiating to get a table. They pulled out another card - kids are not allowed in bars in the city of Minneapolis after 8. Were like ok we'll eat and slam our drinks in under an hour. They finally caved and let us have one table after further elaborating that people with kids just hang out and don't order anything. Smushed into our table, ordered drinks from the distillery and food from the food truck. Got our food and still no drinks. Drinks finally arrived and one of the glasses had lipstick on it. We sent it back and got another beverage. When it was getting close to 8 and we legally had to leave because of our kids, we had to hunt down the waitress to get our tab.
google avatar

Michele H.

Yelp
Please Note: They do a FANTASTIC job of accommodating large parties, as long as you contact them ahead of time. We were a party of 13 and we were always taken care of and waited on. We took up a large portion of their lounge area for a few hours and never felt pressured to leave. My office went to Norseman for our holiday party and it was a blast! We did the tour, led by the owner herself. Very informative and you get to hear the origin story of Norseman. This family owned and operated distillery makes spirits from scratch and any custom cocktail you order from the bar is crafted with ~only~ their homemade liquor. They don't bring in outside spirits for use in their cocktails. I liked that touch. They have the best Moscow Mule I've ever had. All of their cocktails are delicious and fun. Once even comes out with a flaming sugar cube on top!! I will definitely be back and I cannot WAIT to check them out in the summer! Definitely check out whatever food truck they have the day you go.

Yelp
This place looks amazing. We stopped in on a snowy day for some drinks and food and a very late birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. Our waiter took care of our first round of drinks which caught us off guard. Definitely returning and trying out the rest of the drink menu.

Eric H.

Yelp
Wow, we finally had an opportunity to visit this distillery we've been excited to come to for awhile now. After a good 25-30 min drive, we walked in and noticed all the bar stools had been pulled and there were lots of people sitting at tables...but the bartender bluntly stated she isn't sitting anyone else the rest of the night. Mind you, this was at 8:15pm.... We planned on spending the evening there trying multiple different drinks but I can say with confidence we won't be coming back. There are multiple other great cocktail places that won't be turning business away at 8pm on a Saturday night. Best of luck, hoping the management team is reviewing these reviews.
google avatar

Carrie J.

Yelp
This place is full of trendy! Set in a large open warehouse, you can see where all the action happens. I miss Keith working here, but the drinks are still good. Order the Premier. You won't regret it. Outdoor patio with small bar, fire pit, lots of street parking. Head over on a Weekend afternoon. Take a tour!
google avatar

Aleah H.

Yelp
I live nearby, so I have been to Norseman many, many times. The ambiance is my favorite of the distilleries in the area with the low lighting and amazing aroma in an industrial area. I also love the frequency that they rotate their menu, so that I have time to enjoy my favorites, but I also love to see their new creations (pro tip: if you are really missing one of your old favorite staples, they are often able to still make it for you)! My current favorites are the gin tonico, soder spritz, and smoking jacket in that order! The servers and bartenders truly want to help you find a drink you love, even if that means trying a second drink after they made the first. The fun little matrix on the back of the menu can also help you make your cocktail decision! On another note, I also took the level one cocktail class at Norseman. It was SO fun, and I definitely want to do level two in the future! It is a little pricey, but it makes a great gift and is totally worth it! The class is very boozey, so be prepared by eating enough (the food truck outside helps!) and ubering! The instructor was super personable, and I never felt rushed or bored. We made an old fashioned, a gold rush/bees knees depending on preference, and a Fitzgerald. We even got to play with a little fire for the old fashioned! I would highly recommend as an anniversary gift!

Yelp
Norseman is very much what I expect out of a distillery in NE Minneapolis. The roads outside are pocked and very bumpy, the neighborhood is industrial, there are some train tracks nearby, and everything about it is excellent. We stopped in on one of the first lovely spring days, and though they still had the winter menu out we enjoyed sitting on the patio. A bottle of water and glasses quickly arrived, and we were able to look through the menu of well crafted cocktails. As the designated responsible-person for the day, I really appreciated that each mixed drink was labeled with an ABV. That way I knew I could order one more refreshing cocktail and still live up to my DD role by moving on to one of their non-alcoholic sodas. And the sodas are thought up with as much care as the cocktails, which goes such a long way. Heads up, the patio seems to allow smoking, which I'm sure is nice for those who partake but it gave me a little bit of a headache. There was a food truck on site, though we didn't try it, and the menu encourages you to bring in or order food as well. We'll definitely come back next time we're in town!
google avatar

Kathryn G.

Yelp
This was the perfect spot to end a girls night out. We all ordered the Flamingo cocktail. This hit the spot for all of us tequila or as they say "tehkeela" lovers. I look forward to trying some of the other cocktails. Being from California, I will say the prices were normal to me. But for my Minnesotan friends, they would say the prices were expensive.
google avatar

Dick C.

Yelp
This is quite a hip spot for sure - great ambience, warm fuzzy lighting, well-decorated bar in an industrial location for a good date night, provided you don't come on a busy day where it can get a little loud. However nice the spot, I find it to be on a pricier side with the price comparable or even higher than some of the speakeasies in town. This can be a hard sell for me when speakeasies offers a more compelling vibe as compared to a distillery (IMO). Some of the drinks are pretty good, some so-so. I got the flamingo as my friend was raving about it but I didn't find it to my liking - so perhaps that made it hard to appreciate.
google avatar

Aja L.

Yelp
Went here for the first time to meet a couple of friends for drinks. I arrived around 5 on a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all. We stayed until 9 or so and it got increasingly busier. Plenty of space for seating so don't worry about finding a spot! The patio is cozy with a fireplace, nice lighting, etc. I arrived 40 minutes earlier than my friends and ordered a vodka soda then ordered the Flamingo and Shark Bait. Strong, delicious drinks and the server was nice and attentive. They had a Taco food truck while we were there and it was delicious! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Denise N.

Yelp
If you are looking for relaxing place to chill out with a cocktail, this is the place. The cocktails are at a high quality and very easy to drink. If you are not familiar with their spirits, I highly recommend trying them straight. It is well worth it.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
This is a beautiful space in the evening. Low lighting, lots of candles all over and a fireplace make it a cozy place to be. It's a big space too -plenty of varied searing. I didnt love the drink I had, but the people I was with really liked theirs so I'll give it another shot at another time. They have some food on site but it is primarily expensive charcuterie plates. We chose to move on and eat elsewhere.

Yelp
Minnesota isn't just a brewing state, but a distilling one too. The vibe is set right from the moment you are pulling in on your bike, getting out of your uber or your car. Overview: This isn't a place for those looking for a fruity cocktail, this place is for people who appreciate liquor for its complexity. Ask the bartenders about a drink, don't end up with a drink that doesn't suit your palette, they are knowledge and there to help! Sit at the bar if you want to watch the show, which I highly recommend coming seeing how they make the drinks, fire and smoke included. Drinks: Lucky Marco - if you like black licorice, get this Royk- if you love old fashions, opt for this instead tonight, it'll have you very pleased, and yes 'Smoke' is very much an ingredient.

Jack W.

Yelp
Wonderful environment with inside and outside options. The cocktail list is expansive and include various N/A options as well as sample pours of their various spirits. The food truck there was insanely good and reasonably priced (Kinfolk). The ordering process was great (they have the common QR code experience but also allows you to order directly from the QR site so you don't need to flag down someone to get you a drink or food). Definitely one of my favorite distilleries and experiences in Minnesota. Looking forward to going back many more times and exploring some of their other options like cocktail classes or private events. An absolute gem!

Gargi P.

Yelp
Love this place! Went with my sister and brother in law! From drinks to waitstaff! Awesome place!

Yelp
We ate at their food truck, kinfolk. Their chicken is AMAZING!!! The chicken tenders are fabulous on their own but you have to try the Bama sauce. The potato salad is a victory for taste buds everywhere. You should also try the Norman pickles. Go get yourself some motha clucking chicken!

Yelp
Very cool distillery space and really fantastic drinks! It was a Thursday night, and I was there with a girlfriend. I started at the bar and was waitlisted for the patio. The bar and then server staff were great to me, and the drinks came out quickly. Had the New Paloma, Penicillin 2.0, and an off the menu coffee martini. They were all delicious with the perfect combo of not too sweet, full of character, and not too much or too lightly boozy. Obviously, these drinks are very easy to down, so keep and the bathroom line (two, both unisex) in mind. No food, AC, or completely enclosed spaces at the moment, so do eat before, wear light clothing, and put a little bug spray on before heading over for evening drinks. Enjoy, and perhaps you'll see me there!

Yelp
We were in town a few weeks ago and came here to get a few drinks. This place was recommended to us by our waitress at dinner. We wanted somewhere that had good craft cocktails and a nice atmosphere. So, we decided to take a chance and we Ubered it over. They were pretty busy and the bar was crowded, but we were lucky to get a table right away. We waited about five minutes or so until someone came to our table with menus and waters. We asked for a few recommendations and they came back a few minutes later for our order. We were kinda surprised by the menu. It was pretty limited and the drinks were terribly original, but they were good. My boyfriend tried the Royk, which was cook with the way they serve it and I tried the Amarantine, which was tasty. The drinks were a wee bit expensive considering the prices and location, but whatever. We were going to stay for a couple drinks, but didn't really see anything else that caught our eye. I would say my favorite thing about the place is the space and decor. I loved the wide open space, the lighting, and the local artwork on the walls. I liked the lounge area with the sofa they have look really comfy, but the rest of the seating just ok. It reminds me a bit of elementary school with the plastic chairs. The vibe seems to be more on the hipster side, but the crowd was pretty diverse. We only stayed for one drink then caught another Uber. I don't think we'd come back here in general, but it could be a fun stop if you're in the area and want to grab a drink.

Yelp
Norseman is a good time! They've got great cocktails, a very distillery-esque industrial location, a patio, cool artwork, and parking! I've always been in awe of their bar mural, which rotates. I think it's made with chalk?? The big neon sign outside on their patio is very photogenic too. Their cocktail menu is categorized by "refreshing" and "spiritous". I like that they explore all different flavor elements with spicy infusions and vinegar-based cocktails, not the usual overly sweet or boozy drinks. The Premier is one of their most popular drinks, which has pineapple-chipotle gin, strawberry, and lemon. Norseman has hosted some fun events and quirky elements like a secret tiki menu. They no longer have a kitchen or serve food. But they currently have a I Heart Tacos food truck onsite Tues - Sat, and you can get food delivered.

Yelp
Got the "Norse Julep" listed under "Bold & Spiritous" for $11. Ingredients are Norseman strength gin, juniper, mint, lime. Would say arguably the best drink on our table unless your a martini person then get the Norseman strength gin for it. Good ambiance and friendly staff. We went on a Saturday and it was packed at 3pm. There were some vegetarian "meat" on the menu. We ordered the platter. The tacos were good too but no hot sauce. Personal recommendation is to eat before you get there. Limited parking but plenty of street parking in a somewhat abandoned bumpy street. Don't drive to this place in your Miata or Boxter unless you plan on replacing your suspension. Would I come back? Sure, for the Norseman strength gin and friendly staff.

Yelp
Pretty good place. They make some pretty distinct and interesting spirits. Would be nice if they had some snacks like nuts or something.

Yelp
+Pros: drinks ($8-12; cocktails and spirits, no beer), decor (instagram-worthy), music (a little bit of everything), parking (free lot and street), lots of seating (couches, high-tops, tables, bar) -Cons: overpriced pizza (unfortunately frozen) Located in a large warehouse, Norseman Distillery is the perfect place for a chill night out with friends on weekends, especially when your friends still want to go out but without all the craziness and crowds. Great vibe, drinks, and people. The lounge atmosphere is very hip, casual, but classy at the same time. Because of their venue, they can easily accommodate large groups without making reservations ahead of time. They have a free parking lot with plenty of spots for everyone, with street parking as back up. The unique drink menu is always changing with the season so definitely a major plus. Everyone I've recommended this place to is always quite impressed. It is definitely a hidden gem in Minneapolis. If you know someone who's all about posting on social media, this place is definitely instagram-worthy. Very little lighting in there besides the stringed up lights, but not too dark like a night club. In addition, there are lots of paintings hung up on the walls along with succulents hanging from the tall ceiling. All of the tables have a couple candles illuminating them just enough for people to read their menus. The only downside is their limited food items. My friends and I ordered the pizza to share, which comes with 13 or so different sauces. When the pizza arrived, we all knew it was the typical frozen pizza we get when we were hungry college kids. There are also other small bites options so I'll definitely order those next time instead of the pizza.

Yelp
I love the dark and intimate taproom at Norseman. There are tables big and small to accommodate for different group sizes, 2 big leather couches for lounging, in addition to bar seating. In the summer, there's outdoor seating and a bonfire pit. The menu rotates, but I'm not sure how often. I've been here about 3-4 times in the last few years and it's been a different menu each time. The drinks are unique, skillfully crafted and are good, but nothing here has wowed me, like other distilleries. The one thing that really stood out to me was that on the back of the menu, there was a little quad chart of all their drinks and where they fall from refreshing to spiritous and sweet to dry. It gave me a good idea of how all the drinks compare to each other and helped me pick which drinks I wanted to try. The staff are friendly. My group came on a Monday night during a snow emergency. Our server came to our table about 15-30 min before 8pm (when the snow emergency parking restrictions begin) and asked us if anyone was parked in the street (as opposed to their parking lot) since the street was on the snow emergency route. All of us were parked in the lot, but I really appreciated that the staff are kind enough to let us know and in case anyone needed to move their cars. As for food, I Heart Tacos is their resident food truck and the menus are right on the tables. You can order from the servers inside, so you don't have to go outside and order/wait in the freezing cold.

Yelp
What a unique and inviting cocktail bar! Beautifully decorated in the inside and out to make you feel like you are in a high class lounge in city, however, maintains enough Midwest charm that you can just hang on the patio with your dog, friends, and a few good drinks. Cocktails are very artfully created using creative and unique ingredients, be adventurous and try something new! If you sit at the bar like I did, you can watch the effort that goes into crafting each cocktail. In addition to observing the stereo system mural that acts as the back bar decor. Come here for pre-dinner drinks, date night, or grab some tacos from the delicious looking taco truck on site. I plan on making this a go-to spot when friends and family from out of town visit!

Yelp
Norseman's was nice. I think it is very trendy-warehouse feel, stringed lights, pretty bar, hip art of naked people everywhere. Not to mention all of the staff had shaved sections of their heads (Not making fun, I have a shaved side of my head too...just an observation). I gave it 3 stars not because anything was wrong with Norseman's just simply that it was A-OK to me. Nothing bad sticks out to me, but I wasn't wow'd. I think this could totally be some people's jam though so definitely check it out. We arrived and the bartender guided us back to the host. Both were friendly and helped us to a table. Our group of 4 ordered the punch party. It was cute and made us feel fancy. It comes in cute jugs for tableside and we each got a cute little teacup. Our waiter poured our first round for us and it was pretty delicious. I'm really not certain what it was that we were drinking but we all enjoyed it. We each had about 2 glasses and then it was gone. A little pricey but you pay for experience I think. They had a section on their menu for your driver also for some fun mocktails. I thought that was a cute touch. I am sure I will be back Norseman. I am thinking if I can find a spot on that cozy couch next to the fire that I will for sure bump it up at least a star.

Yelp
What a fun, "hipster" restaurant and distillery. It is located in an industrial area of Minneapolis (as far as I could tell as a tourist.) You enter through the loading dock area into an open area with tables and booths, a long bar with the distillery (distillation equipment, barrels and a tasting area in back.) They produce a surprising number of unflavored and flavored gins, rums and vodkas as well as numerous liquors. You can order a one-ounce sample of any of their products. They also have a menu of really creative cocktails that are well worth trying. We didn't order any food, so no comment on that. Our server was really good and we had a fun time. If you are in to distilled spirits and craft cocktails, this place is well worth a visit.

Yelp
Wanted to add....if you are looking for a fun work outing the mixology class is different, super fun, and you will catch a buzz . Distillery tour is interesting both the history of the business and the process of distilling. Please support this small business grow!!

Yelp
VERY cool vibe (cue existential crisis about whether I am Cool Enough to Be Here), beautiful bar, gorgeous light, exposed brick, big platform on which to eat outside. Friendly service by attentive (and handsome, that's a perk) bartenders. The cocktails are lovingly crafted and absolutely delicious. Their sole food option is a "silver platter pizza," a Jack's-esque corner store pizza served (ironically, maybe?) on a silver platter. My only concern - and I hope Norseman addresses this because I like it here and don't want to see them get into trouble - is that they didn't card two members of my party, one who literally turned 21 THAT DAY (she looks about 16) and one who turned 21 the week before (he also looks 16). In fact, none of us were carded. Aside from that potential problem, however, it's a delightful spot, and I'll definitely be back.
