17 Fantastic Salads Worth Ordering in Los Angeles

"North Italia might have multiple outlets across the country but it can still make a mean salad. The Italian Farm salad comes with a generous portion laid across a large platter, with thinly sliced coppa and salad crowning the array of lettuce. There’s also olive, pepperoncini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and roasted red pepper to round out the veggies, with breadcrumbs and an oregano vinaigrette bringing it all together." - Eater Staff

Went for the first time last night with friends, atmosphere is lively and packed!! Reservation highly recommended. Service was good, did take a few minutes before anyone came over to our table but I could see why. Food: took awhile for the truffle garlic bread to come out but when it did it was yummy. I ordered the braised short rib and it was succulent and plated well. It was on the Colleen side but I didn't want to send it back, I still ate it. My friends enjoyed "The Pig" pizza which is a really good size, enough to share or take home. I also had the seasonal butter cake which melted like butter.. Yummy. Our bull came to about $162, suggested tipping a bit high but I gave what I felt. The restroom was super clean. Perfect photo op Overall, 4/5 and I will return.

I had the chance to dine recently with a large group, and while the overall experience was really good, there were a few bumps along the way. Let’s start with the highlights: the drinks were outstanding—truly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Creative, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced, they set a great tone for the evening. The fish was another standout. It was fresh, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. Everyone at the table who ordered seafood had nothing but praise. It’s clear the kitchen knows what it’s doing when it comes to execution and flavor. However, because we were a large party, the service ended up being noticeably slow. We expected a bit of a wait, but at times it felt like things came to a halt. A couple of items I specifically asked for never arrived, which was a little frustrating. I understand it can be tough managing big groups, but the service hiccups did impact the overall flow of the meal. That said, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting—cozy but upscale, with a great vibe for both casual and special occasions. Despite the slower service, the quality of the food and drinks made it a memorable evening. I’d definitely return, perhaps with a smaller group next time to get a smoother experience.

Great Italian food! Everything was super tasty and fresh. The dishes are light, not too heavy, which I really liked. The place feels cozy, and the people working there were very nice. I’ll definitely come back!

I booked for a table of 10 for a dinner event for 7pm on a Wednesday night. We arrived right on time and were told that our table wasn’t ready, so 10 people are waiting outside in the “LA cold” (they did have a patio heater we crowded around) after about 5 minutes of waiting they offered us the patio (which was not made up for a table of 10) I declined as we wanted to sit inside. They told us the table before wasn’t finished. Then after 15 minutes I checked again and a different server presumably a manager asked me again if I wanted the patio, I said no. Then asked with snarkily if I had put specifically on my booking that I wanted inside. I said no. I explained that if we were to be sat outside then the table would have already been set up for 10 and we’ve already been waiting. By 720pm we were finally sat at our table. Had the actual table server not been an awesome guy with a great sense of humor and service this could have been a much worse review. He redeemed our evening with great wine advice and an attentive demeanor. We ordered shared appetizers for the table. Then each person order pasta or pizza. We had 2 bottles of wine and some individual drinks. The atmosphere is good, it’s usually busy so I’d book to not disappoint. The food is fresh and delicious and generous portion sizes for the price. I thought this spot was convenient, could book without a deposit for a large group and was a little disappointed. Would have been 5 stars without the issues with the table and how the manager treated us with a tone of it was my fault. Otherwise the food is worth it! $720 for 10 people to eat and then $150 for tip

I was invited by a friend to try the place. I’ve seen it for quite sometime but never really went out of my way to go. After a long day of fasting I wanted something hearty and fulfilling. I started off with a LIMONATA ROSSA drink. It’s fairly refreshing, the fresh berries took it to the next level. My friend suggested to start the meal with an order of WHITE TRUFFLE GARLIC BREAD. We did wait quite a bit for our appetizer. But was definitely well worth it. Truthfully, this takes garlic bread to the next level. I was not expecting the explosion of flavor. The house made ricotta added a delightful creamy texture to the freshly baked bread. The garlic was not overpowering, the flavors simply flowed together perfectly. He had suggested I try the TROTTOLE CHICKEN PESTO while he ordered the STROZZAPRETI. The pesto was definitely a great suggestion. The pasta is made in house and is cooked al dente. Would I order it again? Yes. I’ve had pesto elsewhere and have enjoyed it. Their version really stood out. I enjoyed it over the STROZZAPRETI. We did have to wait some time for our food to be served. The staff was friendly and inviting. Maybe I noticed the time due to being hungry. If there’s anything you should take away from my review is to order the WHITE TRUFFLE GARLIC BREAD!!! You won’t regret it.

From start to finish, the service and food and cocktails were outstanding. Our server J.J. is a professional, his recommendation’s were spot on. The ambiance is lively, you could feel all the great energy from all the people enjoying themselves. This was our first visit here, and hopefully many more in the future.

Such a pretty comfortable spot to dine at. Many seating areas, inside and patio. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food....omg the food. I have been here 3 times and each time the food has been amazing.

I recently dined at North Italia in El Segundo, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! First off, the location is fantastic, and finding parking was a breeze, which is always a plus. We started with the calamari, and it was a highlight of the meal fresh, crunchy, and clearly not reheated. For our main courses, we indulged in the Margherita pizza, which was delicious, and the bolognese pasta, my personal favorite. The flavors were rich and satisfying. We also tried the chicken Parmesan with pasta, and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was outstanding and went above and beyond. When my friend and I mentioned we were sharing, he suggested splitting the plates in the kitchen for us, which we were really impressed by it made sharing so much easier! To finish off the meal, we couldn’t resist trying the affogato for dessert, and it was super yummy an ideal way to end our dining experience. Overall, North Italia is a must-visit spot for anyone in the area. Great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere make it a perfect choice for a night out. I can’t wait to return!

Yelp
Gosh, I love Italian food and this North Italia is very quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Lots of interior seating with a chill, inviting ambiance. Great for date nights, groups, or solo at the bar. There can be quite a crowd in here, so reservations are recommended and don't mind the noise. Portions are on the larger side and good to share. Prices are a bit on the higher end, which feels reasonable for the quality and location. I recommend their pasta and pizza options, and the Prosciutto Bruschetta. Authentic, hearty and delicious. I highly recommend the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni! Great service, plenty of local parking, and lots of space to walk around before and after.

Yelp
This restaurant choice was for girls night out. Reservations were made for 6:30p. We were seated right away. Nice little round table for 5. A little loud and difficult to hear the server as well as your own party, I ordered the ricotta cavetelli. My food was served to me warm and didn't look at all like the menu picture . I admit it was still good and I ate it. I most likely will not be returning. 3 stars for the loud music and warm food.

Yelp
I rarely write any reviews, but overall I tend to have wonderful meals here, but the last two times...and especially last night, this was awful. I ordered a selection of appetizers and salad for my main meal. Both hot dishes were anything but. The meatballs were literally cool. Not warm. Not tepid. Cool. The broccolini was flat-out cold and not cooked at all. I sent both back and it took some time to get them back, while my dinner partner had already eaten their main course, they finally came out...and again....literally not even warm! I sent it back again...and this time the assistant manager came out to apologize. I told them I understand...they have off nights. It finally came out, generally hotter but not steaming...as I used to get as a rule. They did comp the two hot dishes but I just would rather pay to have properly made hot meal since it takes too long to eat when you're sending these plates back ...twice. Why don't cooks appreciate hot food needs to be served hot! You can wait for food to cool, but sending back dishes to be reheated takes a LOT more effort and leads to wasted food. North Italia El Segundo..please improve. Overall, I really like the location and for the food... until these last two meals, you almost never disappoint.

Yelp
I think I've officially been to most or all of the SoCal locations for North Italia, but it was my first time at my local one in El Segundo. The service was great, but the food was hit or miss (which tends to be the case with North Italia). After several experiences at various locations, I think I can safely say that their pastas are typically not that great. However, the pizzas are always well made, and the Truffle bread is usually pretty amazing! The ambiance is usually nice too. Below is everything I tried: 5/5 - White Truffle Garlic Bread: perfectly made, fluffy, flavorful, and overall delicious! My favorite appetizer here for a reason, haha. 4.5/5 - Margherita Pizza (+ Tie Dye sauce combo): simple, but still has a wonderful combination of flavors thanks to the Tie Dye sauce add ons and their always fantastic crust. 4/5 - Spicy Rigatoni Vodka: honestly my favorite pasta of theirs that I've tired so far, but still a step or two below some of the best in LA (like those at Jame or Donna's). 4/5 - Sicilian Margarita: el mayor reposado, grand marnier, montenegro, fresh citrus. Tasty and refreshing! 3.5/5 - Brookie Sunday: the brownie/cookie part just wasn't that great, but the dish was still enjoyable because of the wonderful ice cream and toppings, but they ideally shouldn't be the star of the dish. 3/5 - Bolognese (House Specialty): for their house specialty pasta this was quite disappointing, to quote my cousin: "This just tastes like a pasta I would make at home, and I'm no chef". It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable or very flavorful. I would definitely skip this dish. Food: 4/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Overall: 4/5

Yelp
Okay, let me start off by saying this establishment is always busy so I had to try it out! I went on a date and my goodness. Seated promptly, the service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and even gave recommendations on wine + entrees. I got the squid ink pasta and my date got the salmon entree. We both had a glass of wine , and enjoyed one another's company for a couple hours . I will be back and 100% will recommend this place for some fresh pasta ! P.S. the parking is free and it's in abundance.

Yelp
The Baseline: For an Italian sit down restaurant the food must use of prime Italian ingredients (garlic, tomatoes, cheese, basil), preparation of sauces and al dente pasta, the meal portion size must leave me feeling full, and the service needs me feeling like I am part of the family. Food: The food at North Italia is good Italian and there isn't any time I can think of that it has disappointed me. This visit I tried the Crispy Eggplant Parmesan and Calamari Fritti small plates and both were crispy and the eggplant took on all the delicious Italian seasoning. The entrees were the Bolognese, crushed meatball rags, and tortellini al pomodoro which were all well sauced with the pastas cooked to an al dente preparation. The drinks were an iced tea and a Sicilian Margarita which all complemented the meal, with water glasses kept full. We opted for desert and the Tahitian Vanilla Panna Cotta which was well formed, perfect texture, and not overly sweet as you would expect from a panna cotta. The compliment desert we had a latte and a Jumpstart. I love the Jumpstart which was sweet and espresso shot shaken into a delicious concoction. Getting this every chance I can. Service: Service was not bad this visit but there was a few hiccups that caused the entrees to be delivered at different times. A little forgiveness for the business and that the manager stopped by to let us know. Ambiance: This has the same Ambiance as my original review and it was not any different. The bathrooms are very clean which is high marks

Yelp
Alright here we go, back again. This time a friend and I decided to go half up on the following: Pig Pizza, the Sicilian meatball sliders, and the Farm salad. It if sounds familiar, it should as that's pretty much what I had the last time. All of the above was awesome! The server Yesid B wa smooth, soft spoken, friendly, and efficient. Let's call him, the "quiet storm". He was awesome. The food here speaks for itself. It was all sinfully delicious! I'm gone!

Yelp
Decided to stop in for an early dinner before a concert at Intuit Dome. Everyone working was super friendly. We decided to sit outside because they really pump that air conditioning inside and I didn't have a sweatshirt. The meatballs and polenta were so good I would order those again and again. The white truffle garlic bread, while delicious, I had to stop eating knowing I was going to breathe garlic fire and not being able to brush my teeth. My friend got the bolognese and liked it a lot. I got the spicy vodka rigatoni and it was average, nothing to write home about. Overall though I would come back and try other menu items

Yelp
It was one of those nights. Rolled into the point and was prepared to start stalking people as they were walking back to their cars. As we were coming to the end of an isle a spot opened right up front. Weren't sure where we were going to eat but landed on North Italia. Scored again. We were seated immediately upon entering on a Friday night no less. Service was great, the white truffle bread was phenomenal but unfortunately things dropped off on the meal. My 1st bite of chicken scarprielo was very flavorful but the chicken was tough as rubber. Not sure how it is prepared but the texture was like that thanksgiving turkey that was dried out because it was overcooked. Otherwise I would have given them a 5. Buon Appettito!

Yelp
A colleague took us to NI for lunch . Very large Italian med scale venue. Nice service and cool decor . I ordered a chicken Caesar which was quite good while they ordered pizzas which they were very happy with . As NY people the standard for Italian is quite higher but this place is really good ! Highly suggested

Yelp
I've been here a few times and have always had a great experience. The staff are super friendly and provide great service. The food is really good, too. I wouldn't call this place high-end, but it's no Olive Garden either. It's perfect for a date, a celebratory gathering or even casual. I love the outdoor seating, but even indoors it is not super noisy so you can actually have a conversation. You can even order at the bar. I've had the pizza here a few times. It's not like they have back east, but good pizza nonetheless. This last trip here, I ordered the Lasagna Bianca...it's white sauce! The name says it all, but apparently some people don't realize it. Well, let me tell you, this was delicious. I absolutely loved it and cleaned my plate. Lol. It was cooked perfectly and proportionately it was just right. At first, I was thinking there wasn't much there, but in the end, I was beyond full because I couldn't help but eat the entire piece of lasagna. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the white sauce, but it was pretty amazing. It's creamy, so keep that in mind if you have dairy issues. But, if you don't, this is a must-try!

Yelp
Cool vibe and the service was decent. Had really high hopes after the server recommended the garlic bread as "fire" (and it was arguably good albeit really greasy) but my entree (spaghetti and meatballs) was sort of more like grandma's dry meatloaf and dryish limp noodles. I mean it wasn't horrible but I didn't finish. It was edible but it didn't make me want to come back.

Yelp
Our server Troy was incredibly kind and attentive. You could tell that he truly loves his job. He gave my family great suggestions as to what to order and really listened to our likes and dislikes. We ended up ordering bolognese, chicken pesto, fungi pizza, and the honey ham pizza. Everything was delicious! We can't wait to come back and thank you Troy for being an amazing server!

Yelp
We came here as a group of 8 for my boyfriend's birthday dinner after playing at Top Golf down the road. This is a great Italian spot! Even as a big group, our server was great at making sure everyone was happy and was enjoying their experience. All the food we had was delicious, so I think you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We ordered a wide array of the appetizers, pastas, and pizzas and enjoyed all of them. We sat outside and really liked the atmosphere of the terrace, but not sure if the experience inside is the same. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating. Lots of space and great for one or a party. It was clean and well organized. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. She was able to multitask very well. The food was good. My dad and I shared a pizza and was more than plenty for us. The wine was good and crisp; went well with the pizza.

Yelp
As a birthday gift, my homegirl treated me to lunch at North Italia. Had a great server! He was attentive. Suggested recommendations and had a WHY he recommended that menu item. He even participated in small talk with us. When the service is excellent, the food is even better. Let's jump right into review. What did I have? BOLOGNESE (HOUSE SPECIALTY) - $26 - traditional meat sauce, pappardelle, grana padano, wild oregano, evoo - Absolutely delicious! ITALIAN MEATBALLS - $18 creamy polenta, rustic marinara, grana padano- They are large meatballs. A meal in itself. Absolutely delicious and filling. BROOKIE SUNDAE - $13 - pistachio, chocolate & strawberry gelato, dark chocolate, banana, strawberry, pecan, chocolate pearls- It was ok. I was overly impressed. Good options.Acquired taste. Ya kno' what I mean (smile). CITRUS OLIVE OIL CAKE - $13 pear compote, orange cardamom curd, mint - My homegirl said it was good. Lol. I didn't try it. It looked very appetizing. Pros 1. Great location with indoor and outdoor seating. 2. Our server was exceptional. 3. Issa vibe...not all restaurants have positive engery, but North Italia has good vibes. 4. I don't drink and they have Zero Proof drink options, very cuuuttteee. Cons 1. North Italia is located in a shopping center and parking can be a challenge. Definitely be prepared for a short walk during busy times. Although this is my first time writing a review; I have been to this location several times. I haven't always been met with exceptional customer service, especially by the host/hostess - rude and unfriendly are better word choices. Since the poor customer attention has been my interaction with the front house staff, I have returned and will pop back off when I met with the attitude from front staff. I will say on this most recent visit, everyone was pleasant. I hope that consistency remains among all employees. If you want some good Italian food - stop by. Order the house specialty, the bolognese pasta and a glass of wine, in my situation, a zero proof mocktail. Pull up neighbors. ** some photos are of what my homegirl ordered. Don't recall names of her entree or drink, but she stated she enjoyed her food/drink choices **

Yelp
I really enjoyed the pizza I got, the prosciutto. The fig, goat cheese and prosciutto all complemented each other very well. The crust, however, was less than ideal, about half of it was burnt. That was especially disappointing because the non-burnt crust was so tasty! We also got the chefs board which was pretty good, and definitely aesthetically pleasing. The ambiance was good, although we found it to be quite chilly inside. Apparently they don't have control over the thermostat in the building, so they are powerless to adjust the temperature. No big deal though. It was a little noisy but nothing terrible. Server was very nice and attentive.

Yelp
Been coming to this location for over 10 years now and it's gone through so many changes including an owner change from private to cheesecake factories parent company. Through the years food has always been amazing, service ha been hit and miss but most of the time being regulars has helped with finding specific servers that went up and beyond to make the visit exceptional. The Short Rib variants of dishes have always been good. From the short rib radiatori which has gone through so many variants with the latest being still good but no longer do they have that amazing of of a kind horseradish based pasta sauce. The dinner version of the rib no longer has the polenta version but of one with creamy mushrooms, black truffle risotto being good but not why I still have 1k in gift cards for. Then name of the dish is Braised Short Rib Marsala with creamy mushroom and black truffle risotto. The Lumache Alla Norcina which replaced them amazing short rib version is still good but no where near as good as the previous entire. If feels like they kept the same price but lowered the quality of the dish in terms of ingredients. Shrimp scampi is quite good and very addictive with 4 large shrimps and some great bread dipping sauce with toasted bread. Service remains good with previous servers such as James, Wyatt (now in Nevada going to visit him), and managers previously Lisa, Kathy (or was it Kelly). The server super hero today was Austin G. Charismatic, quick to serve, good smiles all around, he made North Italia a mini vacation for us. Looking forward to being waited by him again. He should be promoted! Still Sphagetti and meatballs is still a goto filler dish much more economic than just ordering the meatball appetizer. The Brookie sundae was good but the pieces of Brookie were way too hard to be in a sundae. The three flavors of gelato in it were quite good and it's a relatively large dessert that should totally be shared. While the old menu that had me nonstop craving for more is gone the new menu while a downgrade is still super good. Will update when I try the menu after the holidays. Overall I still highly recommend this location. Irvine is a good location also but has hit and misses with food and service so I generally love this location.

Yelp
We celebrated my mom's birthday here at North, and had such a blast. We keep coming back because the food is fresh, delicious, and you get the most bang for your buck. We ordered the Lasagna Bianca Al Forno, Squid Ink Tonnarelli & Tuscan Half Chicken. There was plenty to share, with leftovers. Our server was nothing short of lovely - she took care of us with a smile on her face. We sat on the patio with our pup - it had started raining, so the patio area was covered and the heaters were on. Such a warm and toasty ambience. The dining room is so gorgeous, but got a little too loud - there was an echo that made conversation a little hard (even from the patio), but we all loved people watching. Thank you, North Italia! We'll keep coming back for consistent, amazing, authentic Italian food. We have a blast with y'all.

Yelp
Visited on Mother's Day and was surprised by how efficient everything was. Even with the crowds, the wait was manageable, and the staff was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic--perfect for a chill meal. I had the salmon over couscous pasta in a pesto cream sauce. Pasta texture was great--chewy and well-cooked--and the pesto cream brought a nice richness. Salmon was cooked right, but the flavor didn't stand out much. Solid dish, just not a standout. For dessert, I got the brookie, which comes topped with a scoop of ice cream. Definitely a nice way to finish the meal. Warm, gooey, chocolatey--hits all the marks, even if it's not reinventing anything. Good place if you're after solid food, strong service, and an easygoing dining experience.

Yelp
Went here for dinner after a conference with my girlfriend. I must say, this venue does Italian food VERY well. It's a beautiful venue with great drinks, great service, and very good food. Paprdelle in ragú bolognese for me. A couple of drinks (I can't remember what they were) and a sundae type of dessert with a few different scoops of gelato. Also, my girlfriend and I split the meatballs. It's how we gauge the quality of an Italian restaurant. These sit in probably the top 3 I've had of all time. If you work in the el segundo area, I would suggest this spot for an after work date or dinner with your customer.

Yelp
I'm soooo sad this pasta is way OVER priced and way TOO delicious!!! I'd love to have these pastas often but if they may just be for special occasions. This location is pretty cool, centered in a shopping center. The service was really slow but our server was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Needed a quick spot for dinner, so I sorted Yelp by most reviewed and scanned for star ratings. 4.2 stars, 2K reviews. Got there and it looked chain-ish. Second surprise - it's a chain, a Cheesecake Factory one. Third surprise - it was pretty delicious. We carbo loaded and shouldn't have but no regrets: White truffle garlic bread with ricotta. So fluffy and truffy. I had my doubts (bc $17 for bread?) but I'm sold. The cacio e Pepe arancini is prob the only thing I definitely wouldn't order again. Didn't taste like cacio e Pepe and was too salty for my taste. The funghi pizza was good. Not the best - till you get into the bomba style cheese side dip/topping. That was a unique take. I would try something else on a next visit. The squid ink pasta was good but I had dismissed the server's warnings about the spice level. She wasn't kidding, the heat kind of builds as you continue to eat. I thought the sauce was tasty. Tho the pasta didn't have as much chew as I'd like (not that it was soggy but it cut thru really easily?). Good service that checked in at the right intervals.

Yelp
Great place but hit or miss. My GRILLED chicken shouldn't be cold on my season vegetable salad. Shame! This is an indicator that a not so well trained kitchen is overwhelmed. What else is cooked hours before served? #lowstandards #absentmanagement #gordonramsay

Yelp
Service was quick, constant amd fast despite place being super busy. Our selections and impressions: 1. Child Crispy chicken & fries- flavorful, huge portion....definitely get it! 2. Calamari Fritti- delicious always a loved dish by all our party. Little salad included was spicy! 3. Wild shrimp scampi - delicious, crunchy tasty bread and the shrimp was perfect 4. Roasted Salmon - perfectly plated and taste was delicious 5. Chicken Parmesan - pasta was my least favorite and then the chicken was 2md best. I'd say skip this one. Four stars for quick service and quick accomodation!

Yelp
We came here last minute for dinner and let's just say it hit the spot. I made a reservation on OpenTable and requested a highchair. The staff was very friendly and had a seated with the highchair in no time. I had the kale salad and vodka rigatoni-both fresh and tasty. We will be back!

Yelp
We came here for my friend's birthday, and it was a good choice for the occasion--there were a few other groups celebrating too. We even got a free tiramisu, which was a nice touch. I had the Bolognese, which was great, but I wish there had been a bit more of it. The service was also good.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. Came here to have lunch with a client and wasn't disappointed! Our server was funny, knowledgeable and efficient. What he recommended we ordered and was not disappointed. Salmon cooked to perfection. Tiramisu to die for. I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
This place is great. The food was delicious. It is a bit pricey but it is so fresh and totally worth it. The service was nice and the place was clean. Loved the ambiance!! We got the white truffle garlic bread, FUNGHI pizza, BOLOGNESE, STROZZAPRETI and TROTTOLE pasta. Everything was so delicious nothing disappointed. All the pastas tasted so fresh, full of flavor, and well made. If you are in the mood for some good quality and flavorful Italian food, this is the place to go. Don't forget to get the garlic bread, it's a must try!

Yelp
On business in the area and the business partner and I wanted a quick dinner meal before wrapping up the final work day. I got on the trusty Yelp App and found some choices nearby. We decided to go to the area which had a bunch of restaurants. We would walk around and see what caught our eye. The first place we came to was North Italia and since Yelp had them at 4 stars, that was OK with me. Coincidentally, I was craving some Italian food. We put our name in and were told it was a 15 to 20 minute wait, which was find with us. I was a really nice day, so we just sat on the bench outside and people watched for the next 10 minutes. At that point, the buzzer they had given us went off and we proceeded to the hostess stand and then shown to a high top table. The place was packed, there were servers moving quickly around with meals, empty plates or drinks. Seemed very hectic, but not extremely loud and everyone seemed happy especially the service staff and bartenders. Cool! Both the business partner and I were not starving so we passed on an app and salad and just ordered our entrees. For me it was the Squid Ink Tonnarelli (whatever the heck tonnarelli is). This has, the unknown (to me) tonnarelli pasta, tiger shrimp, calamari, wild fennel pollen, mint, spicy tomato sauce. The pasta has the squid ink to make it dark, almost black. The business partner ordered the spicy rigatoni pasta. This was rigatoni with italian sausage, crispy pancetta, shaved garlic, torn basil and grana padano. I feel like I have said this on many reviews recently, but the food came out very quickly. The place is packed, every table has food or empty plates and yet the kitchen kicks out our pasta in less than ten minutes. Maybe 5 minutes?? I know it was fast. Really fast. Plates were warmed. Nice. Pastas were steaming. Nice. We had some bread and oil/balsamic dip to keep us company while we waited for the pasta to cool off. Throwing caution to the wind, along with cares about burning our lips, tongue and roof of the mouth, we dug in. Actually, by this point the temperature was perfect. I liked it all. Pasta. Squid. Shrimp. All cooked perfectly, not overdone and rubbery. The stand out was the Wild Fennel Pollen as it really gave a kick to the dish that I was not expecting and kinda mind blowing. JUST KIDDING. I have no idea what wild fennel pollen is and how it affected the dish's taste. I did not taste any fennel like I assumed I would. This was a great dish and I was very happy and full when done. The business partner liked his spicy vodka rigatoni and he can be pretty picky when it comes to food while traveling. The service was 5 stars and as I mentioned the place was packed and busy. Kudos for the staff, and our server specifically, to work in that environment and provide excellent service. Thanks! Go. Eat Well. Try Tonnarelli and Wild Fennel Pollen. HAVE FUN!!

Yelp
North Italia to me is a good choice for lunch, work outing, or dinner. Most options are pretty filling and they have good portions. I would define the experience as pretty casual.

Yelp
Unfortunately, my experience at this North Italia Restaurant location was far from enjoyable and significantly below the standard I've experienced at other North Italia Restaurant locations. The food was served cold, which was a significant letdown and suggests a lack of attention in the kitchen or with the serving staff. Additionally, the drinks I ordered sat unattended at the bar for an extended period, resulting in heavily diluted and watery beverages by the time they reached my table. This visit did not meet the standards I've come to expect from North Italia Restaurant, and I won't be choosing this one again. Needless to say the restrooms were very dirty and the staff was not helpful at all. Maybe because it was late and everyone was tired.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and stayed for a full dinner! Ample seating at the bar around 4pm on a Friday (must be seated at bar for happy hour specials). Everything we had was delicious. Standouts for me were the spicy rigatoni vodka and pomegranate mule. Didn't think the rigatoni had a spicy kick to it, but the spicy broccolini did! The broccolini was a side order but had a generous amount that was enough to split with another. Service was wonderful and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
The service is pretty good here, people are friendly and we were seated right the way... However the food is pretty normal .. not taste bad, just nothing remarkable, nothing makes me want to come back... The spicy rigatoni vodka is okay... Yellowtail crudo you can skip... Zucca chip is fun but not that I want to order again....

Yelp
First of all, the restaurant decor is really very nice with large mural paintings. Food is delicious and service size is just right. We almost had all the squid ink pasta and ordered 2 pizzas and another pasta with pine nuts and 3 appetizers . What needs improvement is service - our server despite our attempts to make her attend to our needs even going to her , would always say, "in a minute " but will make use wait for a long time. (Not a minute ) I tried to ask another gentlemen to help us with serving spoon but saw him walk away and dismiss my request even if the spoon was just by the door. Throughout our stay , we were made to wait so I don't think we will come back again. We still gave them 15% tip for the other staff who were attentive and nice . Considering it's not that busy, she should learn to be more customer service oriented. If she gets trained , maybe I will give this place a 5 star. Our bill was $407 with tip so I think we deserve good service . Changed to 3 stars due to dismissive response of GM - The correct response is " We will bring it up to our manager and staff and use it as a training tool and hope you will give us another chance."

Yelp
North Italia, Manhattan Beach: Called my order-in for pick-up. I ordered the Chicken Parm with SPICY Broccolini and a side of marinara. THE TEA: Although I really liked the food I thought that it was outrageous to charge $3.50 for a cup of marinara. I wanted a small cup but apparently they don't have "small to-go cups"??! ++ Also, the "Spicy Broccolini" was NOT "spicy" it was more like roasted broccolini... did they run out of spice!? Only GOD and the folks there know... +++ Then, THANK THE LORD I CAME HOME with my food and didn't eat anything while I was out because was I suppose to eat with my hands and fingers!?? There were no utensils nor were there any napkins placed in my bag... but to give them THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT I'm just gonna think that: - they ran out of spice that's why my broccolini wasn't spicy - they ran out of/or were short on utensils and napkins - they don't carry small containers that's why they gave me a huge container for marinara sauce when I only needed a little. IN CLOSING: Thinking these things makes me feel better about the situation ... does it make it right? NOPE! But I wanna think positive about this place and that's what I'm gonna stick to! WILL I RETURN? Well, my food was good but I think I'll opt for another location: Torrance, Irvine, Santa Monica... We Shall See! My review is reflective of my visit on Sunday, 6/9/24- 12:50 PM - Stars are for my FOOD ONLY!

Yelp
We went to The Pointe around 5:30pm on a Saturday. There were a ton of people with their kids so it was a fun environment. At the restaurant, it was 25 minute wait for two adults and a baby. When they texted us that the table was ready, they were able to seat us pretty quickly in the outdoor area which had plenty of heaters and a nice view of the other shops in the area. We brought our 11 month old baby and they were able to accommodate with a high chair. We ordered a white Naples pizza, seasonal veggies, and a bolognese pasta. The pizza was nice and light with an amazing crunch for the crust. The veggies tasted fresh and had a mix of asparagus, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, and corn. The bolognese pasta is the house special and I can see why. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the meat sauce was hearty and flavorful. I definitely want to come back and try a few more things on the menu!

Yelp
Greeted and seated. Came here for happy hour. Ordered a bottle of wine, pizza and a pasta dish. Got to say, the Italian Food was tasty here. You can taste the freshness from the pasta. The wine was immaculate. The ambiance was a modern Italian Eatery. The entire setting is clean. The bathrooms were clean! Overall, this place is a good place to have some good conversation. On a first date or business, this place sets the mood with delicious food. Big Kudos to our waitress, Stephanie C! She did a fantastic job!! Always attending to our needs. Very good customer service. Definitely will come back. Happy hour prices are fair. :)

Yelp
EVERYTHING. IS. DELICIOUS. We love this place! I can go on and on but let me simplify things for you; Order the- Golden Fig Old Fashioned cocktail; White Truffle Garlic Bread; Little Gem Caesar; FUNGHI pizza; -or- BOLOGNESE (HOUSE SPECIALTY) Finish with TIRAMISU. Sleep like a baby & get up early to exercise! If you wait until 8pm u can beat the heavy crowds ;-)

Yelp
My friend treated me for my birthday here. Although it is a chain the food is always fresh. Dishes are well flavored. The facility is very clean and elegantly decorated. I got a free dessert for my birthday.

Yelp
Fun vibe and good food. Enjoyed sitting outside and people watching. They have gluten free pasta or veggie pasta options. The gf pasta bolognese was yummy. The prosciutto pizza was good, but I don't prefer such a sweet dough. Still, nice flavors. Friendly and quick service.

Yelp
The hostess here was so rude. She interrupted us as we spoke and wasn't helpful at all. Although our experience with the hostess wasn't good, our waiter was great and the food was delicious. We got The Pig, The Hot Homey Prosciutto, Chicken Parmesan, and I asked for a marinara pasta with no dairy and grilled salmon on top. My food was ok but it didn't look appetizing or appealing at all. It looks like a kids plate that was thrown together. Also, it was freezing inside. It was colder inside than it was outside. The food was good ok but we don't plan to return to this location.

Yelp
Lasagna Bianca al Forno braised short rib, grana padano, provolone, mozzarella, herb breadcrumbs. This was fantastic. Great flavor, and really good. We also had the avocado and arugula salad. The Burrato with pear and chibata bread was also really tasty. Make sure you leave room for this desert below in photo. Outstanding! Richard B. Was our server and was super attending!

Yelp
This place was surprisingly delicious! The calamari is really good, but for an appetizer you have to get the Burrata. it was so creamy and delicious and had a bunch of really good cherry tomatoes on the plate. I would happily come back just for this dish. I got the pasta with crab, and it was really delicious. The pasta was cooked really well, and the overall flavor was not too fishy or too heavy. This is a really good dish if you want some thing. I will say that it was a little too oily, so I would be cautious. The inside ambience is nice and the servers were really nice as well.

Yelp
What a difference a year makes. I didn't even realize management made a comment on my review a year ago. My family chose to go to north Italia the other night, much to my disappointment. But going with the flow and majority vote, I grudgingly went. Service was friendly and excellent and the food was good!

Yelp
Our waiter was kind, and pretty attentive for how busy it was! But I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again. First of all, there's a shocking lack of vegetarian options--it's 2024. Seems like they just want to offer almost all meat so you have to pay more. Only one vegetarian pasta option, and it didn't sound great to me, so I went with the pizza . And beyond being vegetarian, I'm also gluten-free due to having celiac disease. The pizza crust was pretty disappointing--blackened edges all around the crust, and pretty chewy. Felt like I had to keep gnawing at it. And I have had some really wonderful GF pizza crust, so it's not the lack of gluten that's the issue. But I do appreciate their taking dietary restrictions so seriously. I felt pretty confident that I wouldn't get sick. from cross-contamination.

Yelp
Took the family for lunch after an event being held at The Point. Great service and quick. Food was delicious like always since I've been to other locations . I still have to try other items on their menu. Finally got the squid ink pasta and got to try this pizza! Love that it's thin crust. My toddler enjoyed it!

Yelp
My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday. The portions are large so it's great we were able to share plates. For starters, we ordered the calamari, ceasar salad with salmon and a truffle mushroom pasta dish (can't remember the exact name) but wow, delicious. Instant fan! I wished this restaurant is in the Bay Area! One mention of my birthday, our server brought out our dessert with a candle! It was a beautiful core memory. I also indulged in their ristretto cocktail which was icing on the cake!

Yelp
Friendly service, cool ambiance and delicious food/drinks. Checked out a new location and the food was just as good as the one in Irvine. Busy spot at The Point in Manhattan beach before Top golf.
