FOOD SAFETY ISSUE: DO NOT EAT HERE There are a couple problems with this place that are serious food safety issues. 1) There was a BONE in my Poke (Picture below). Anyone who eats sashimi or Poke knows this is a serious food safety issue and can choke or kill someone. I showed the bone to the manager and he said “We do the best we can but sometimes bones remain”. Unacceptable! 2) All the Salmon has skin and fat left on its edges that gives it a bitter taste. I have eaten Poke in a hundred places and never seen this. Manager didn’t take this complaint seriously either! 3) They say their fish is “Fresh” but they don’t follow standards to make it sashimi grade. Anyone knows that you have to keep fish at certain temperatures for certain times to meet sashimi grade criteria!! Many more complaints as well but this was the most important issues. I am not going to eat here again for sure.

Came from out of state for a trip and this was the best poke i’ve ever had. We went in as soon as it opened and it already had people lined up but their service was so fast but still so excellent we got our food less than 5-10 minutes. The garlic was a MUST and the sauce was soooo good. It was perfect to enjoy on the beach, will be coming back.

Google
North Shore Poke Co is hands-down the best poke spot in Huntington Beach. The fish is always incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. They also offer great gluten-free options, which is a huge plus. The laid-back atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. I keep coming back, and it never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Google
The best Poke I've had (including from Maui and Oahu). I would really recommend it if you want to have a spicy poke without a mayonnaise base (Kalihi Kine). Fish always seems fresh and delicious. Many different varieties of sauces depending on your preference. The couple who runs this place are absolutely awesome and super friendly people. Always great to eat and enjoy at the beach which is only a short walk away.

Google
Great food, great customer service and fresh fish. Our food was absolutely amazing. We also had a very sweet and personal conversation with the gal who took our order, Morgan. She even came up to us and asked how our food was and chatted with us a bit. She made the experience 10x better. Thank you Morgan- stay sweet!

I don’t know if I should review this everytime I eat here, however it’s always a homerun!! Best poke I’ve had not in Hawaii! 34/0 looking forward to trip 35!!

Google
Very disappointed on the portion size with the price. Fish wasn’t bad but didn’t melt in your mouth like I expected based on other reviews. The sauce was mid and not very flavorful. Staff was rude when I went to use the restroom, I told them I was a customer but they didn’t believe me.

Yelp
Best service! Morgan and Shawn are the sweetest owners and always greet us with a smile. The poke is always super fresh and so tasty! Shawn makes so many amazing sauces. By far the BEST Hawaiian style poke I've had in California!! My boyfriend and I get poke here every chance we could get.

Yelp
Always looking for some authentic Hawaiian poke spots and this place did it for me! They have so many options of fish and sauces, plus the service was great. They were very helpful when choosing our bowls since it was our first time visiting the spot. We got two poke bowls - one with Waimea ahi tuna and another with Sunset ahi tuna. The fish was very fresh and the sauces were yummy (would def come back to try out other sauces). You can also get free toppings like furikake and crispy garlic. The prices were reasonable too! The inside was cute. There's a lot of seating and cute decorations. I also loveeee the location. It is near the beach, stores, and other food/drink spots, making it super walkable when checking out the entire area. I could see the parking being a little tough though since street parking is pretty limited.

Yelp
This was a hidden place that I didn't realize was nearby for fresh poke bowls. It has a great vibe to it. The casual ambiance is very nicely decorated. The menu was easy to read to choose your bowl favorites. The owners are super nice. The place gets busy especially on weekends. The ahi tuna, salmon, And seaweed is soo good I'll be back

Yelp
I've heard great things about this place but was honestly a little underwhelmed. While the fish was very fresh, I couldn't justify the price and size of my large bowl. I got ponzu and spicy mayo sauce, which is my go-to at any poke spot, but upon trying it I couldn't understand the hype. Maybe it's because it was my second time trying authentic Hawaiian poke, but I just couldn't appreciate it as much as others do, mostly because of the portion size. The cashier was very friendly though and was talking to us until our food was ready. It was empty on a Wednesday during lunchtime so they made our order pretty quickly.

Yelp
Whenever I am in the area I always make it an effort to come here because I just love their poke! I have had poke at multiple other places, however, none of them compare in both the fish quality & flavor in this area. I usually opt for the brown rice which can be a hit and miss in most places. But their Brown rice isn't super hard but actually soft and chewy. I love the salmon here! It's fresh and full of flavors! It always gets super packed and the location is small but the line goes by quick!

Yelp
Nice place to have lunch and sit down area. Fresh fish. Very kind and friendly service. Honestly, no complaints. It is little pricey for the amount of food given. Overall very good experience and tasty poke.

Yelp
Good quality fish. I wish they displayed the toppings and sauces. Pricey but good poke. Glad i tried but wouldn't come back

Yelp
OVERALL : Ever since getting back from Hawaii earlier this year, I have been on the hunt for poke that reminds me of the islands. This spot is probably the closest I can get so far / around the area! Their fish is super fresh -- never fishy, and is very simple, just like the islands! No crazy toppings here, just the classics that make for a simple fish-forward bowl. You pick a size, a sauce, the protein, the base and some extras. Everything is listed on the wall in big lettering, which makes it super easy to order! I would say the pricing can be a bit steep especially if you're doing a ton of add-ons, but I'm willing to pay for good food. They also do poke by the pound if you don't want a bowl. Near the beach and perfect grab-and-go meal for a picnic outside, but they also have lots of seating inside too! PARKING : Street parking, but I haven't had much trouble locating a spot on weekend afternoons! Sometimes there will be metered spots right in front, and other times I'd find a spot in one of the side streets nearby and walk a few mins there. FOOD/DRINKS : Poke Bowl - Small with Spicy Yuzu Sauce. Tuna and Salmon (1/2 and 1/2), and white rice as a base. I like to add cucumber, massage, and furikake. Sometimes I'll get seaweed salad or avocado too (for an extra charge). I also included a photo of my bf's bowl, which is a salad base and has blue crab! This one's his go-to. This meal NEVER disappoints! Service is always fast and friendly, and my bowls have always been scrumptious.

Kanon I.

Yelp
THE BEST OF ALL THE SPOTS IN OC. The spicy yuzu sauce is the best. Fishes are fresh and big chunks of them so it is very filling. I highly highly recommend to try this place if you haven't, you'll love it if you are poke lover like me. For some people, their food might not be fulfilling because I know some other places fill your bowl with lots of rice and ingredients but they also have regular and large size. And I recommend getting a large if you are ones who prefer bigger portions! I usually get a regular and it fills me up enough! Just fyi!
google avatar

Devoney A.

Yelp
SUUUUPER good poke definitely best in the area. So fresh and melt In your mouth, also loved the sauces they used. Only complaint is it was a very small serving for price - not even in terms of fish but such a small amount of rice and sides they gave. Easy order and quick service would come back for my poke fix! Just be prepared to pay a steep price for a small serving
google avatar

Yelp
This place is such a small hole in the wall that I wouldn't expect the best poke here in SoCal to be in Huntington Beach. Man the service was super friendly and she suggested a good mix of flavors to try for the toppings. Thought it was a good place to chill and grab some poke. I'm so glad my friend reccomended me this place because this is one of the best poke places I had outside of San Diego and Hawaii.
google avatar

Mohammad H.

Yelp
In all honesty, this place seemed overrated. Fish tasted fresh, but the sauce lacked flavor. The rice also didn't help balance the poke in anyway. And lastly, the portion size didn't match the price. I was expecting more fish, but I was let down. Heard a lot of things about this place, so I was excited to try it, not sure if I would return.

Yelp
Ambiance - 4/5 - Simple setup. Clean and good enough for a quick bite. Service - 5/5 - Friendly and helpful. Food came out fast. Food - 3/5 - The poke flavor is mixed to order so the fish hasn't been marinating. This leads the the poke being bland and nothing close to poke served in the actual North Shore, Oahu. By no means is this place bad but best I can do is 3 of 5 stars. Overall, it's a fine spot but it's nothing exceptional for poke. Enjoy!
google avatar

Ethan N.

Yelp
Good quality tuna, very tender and well marinated. Rice was undercooked when I went, but kept at room temperature which is great for takeout since it doesn't warm up the fish. Overall, it is an above average poke spot and definitely worth a visit if you are by the beach.

Yelp
This was probably my favorite bite during a recent stay in the area over the weekend. I'm pretty picky about poke especially since the concept gets so watered down when people make it on the mainland. This is legit poke and probably the best you can get in all of socal. Seriously with one bite I was hooked and would go back for more anytime. Concept is pretty standard. Pick a sauce, pick your choice of proteins, pick your base and toppings. They have two sizes small and large and currently cost $2 difference. I think the small was a perfect size for a meal l. They carry a variety of drinks options. I'm a sucker for Hawaiian sun so purchased a can of their POG flavor. The most satisfying meal of the trip. Bottom line is they did their poke right. Service is top notch and they make bowls pretty quickly. If you pass by this place take a step in and try it out for yourself.

Yelp
One of my go to spots when craving poke in Huntington Beach. The customer service is decent, my only critique would be order accuracy and volume. At this location, you're really paying for quality versus quantity. The ambience is open and there is plenty of tables to sit and eat for lunch.
google avatar

Renata L.

Yelp
North Shore Poke is my go to when I am craving poke. Friendly service and chilled atmosphere. My favorite is the Waimea, a little spicy a little sweet, great combination. I don't add toppings b/c I want to taste the poke. Add some Hawaiian Sun, it's the closes thing to the island.
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
I love going to Huntington Beach to get north shore poke, a Hawaiian sun, and spam musubi. It's such a nostalgic memory and the poke here is so good!!

Rachel J.

Yelp
Such an amazing lunch !! Met one of the owners who suggested I think the Sunset sauce and ahi tuna- so fresh and well flavored. 10/10 would recommend and bring back friends .

Yelp
The food was incredible, the service was fast and pleasant, and the whole place just felt very welcoming.

Yelp
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, a poke place that reminds me of Hawaii! So simple, so fresh, so good & at a good price. I got the sauce that says "really spicy" & as a girl who loves spice it wasn't spicy at all just had amazing flavor so don't be afraid to try it! The girl who took our order was so sweet and it's right by the beach so take it to go and have a picnic.

Chloe A.

Yelp
Walked in randomly and had such a warm welcome in. I love trying family & local owned places and loved the friendly atmosphere here. Hands down one of the best poke bowls I have ever had, the fish was unbelievably flavorful and tender. Definitely recommend the spicy-Teri sauce
google avatar

Yelp
So... I have been coming explicitly to this spot for poke for YEARS. The service is great-- Sean and Morgan are the absolute sweetest owners, and every time I come in I am met with smiles and great conversation. There is a great amount of seating considering the size of the location-- about four tables with benches and two different counter tops with bar stools to chill at. Morgan decorates the tables with simple flowers, and it adds such a sweet touch to this beachy location. There is also a bathroom located in the back inside the restaurant thats on the right side. Now to the food! I adore this place. I am in Hawaii a lot to visit family, and I have always adored Hawaiian style poke over how the mainlanders do it. This place has simple ad-ons, and focuses on their sauce over the pomp and circumstance of crab salad, edamame, corn, etc. I love the different styles of sauces, as well as the variety of fish they offer. They do tend to run out of fish at the later hours of the day, but this is how you know they get it fresh, and this is how many places are in Hawaii. I truly have never had a bad bowl here, and like I said earlier, I have been coming since 2019. So, so good and will always be my favorite place to visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Overall good prices & decent tastes. I wish we could add more to the poke bowls but overall it's good as it. Cute environment and fish always tastes fresh!
google avatar

Mefa L.

Yelp
This establishment provides poke bowls that rival the best in Hawaii. The freshness of the fish is outstanding, and the flavor profiles are expertly balanced, reflecting a high level of proficiency in poke preparation. Each bowl exemplifies a commitment to superior ingredient quality and meticulous culinary craftsmanship. For those seeking an electrifying poke experience, this location is a premier choice.

Yelp
I went to North Shore Poke for lunch on Sunday. I was able to find parking pretty easily along Fifth St at a meter. I went in and I was able to order right away. My partner and I ordered poke bowls and the poke nachos. There was a good amount of seating inside, so we decided to eat there. We enjoyed our food and thought the fish quality was pretty good. Our only complaint is that there wasn't enough sauce added. Overall, we had a good experience and would come back again when we're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
We've been hunting for a good poke bowl place and found this great stop over. Friendly people serving great food with a light atmosphere by the beach. Fruit and salmon with spices went good together and they chill the crab here which if you're a seafood lover is amazing! Enjoy :)
google avatar

Hapa J.

Yelp
At 1:00 ran out of 3 items on the menu. Poke nachos are great but they hardly put any sauce on them and won't let you purchase more. The bowl, compared to other places had basically rice, protein and cucumbers. All the other condiments were barely there. Wanted to love like I used to.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
I came after seeing all the good reviews but was disappointed to see the small takeout box. $16 for a few bites :/ Flavor is good and all, but nothing noteworthy. Wish there was better value!
google avatar

Dee H.

Yelp
Fresh fish and probably the best poke you'll find in the area. Wish there was more sauce. Portion size was a little smaller than expected. Staff seemed normal. Cute patio to eat outside but ample seating inside.
google avatar

Brigitte C.

Yelp
North Shore Poke was my go-to spot for poke back in high school. I'm a big fan of their fish--it's always fresh, and the sauces are spot on. My friend and I went to eat there on a Tuesday, only to realize they were closed. We mentioned our mistake to the staff, and they kindly gave us a free size upgrade! They definitely didn't have to do that, and it was incredibly generous. I always look forward to getting poke here whenever I'm around Huntington Beach. One thing I'd change is that the rice can be dry and unflavorful at times. Overall, I would still highly recommend North Shore Poke to anyone in the area. Ambiance: 9/10 open seating, you can walk down to beach too Service: 10/10 Food: 8/10 - not the best fish I've had but this place has been consistent in my experience
google avatar

Marietoni R.

Yelp
Hands down, the very best Poke in OC. It is an absolute staple when I'm in the area (or just when I need a pick me up, I'll drive 40 minutes to just come here). To start off the service is amazing. Morgan is the sweetest person ever, remembers the regulars the name, and even small details. It's like visiting a friend every time. Shawn is very diligent and does a great job getting orders come out perfectly. The restaurant itself has a great ambiance. Very beachy and relaxed. One of the few places at the beach that has a usable restroom lol. It's Huntington Beach so parking is dependent on the crowd but it's in a great location and easy to walk to. My order: Large Salmon Coconut Waimea (trust me, you need to try it) Spicy Yuzu White rice All the free sides Blue Crab (this is also a must)
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
A definite reminder that I can't take for granted the perks of living in Southern California. The poke here is on the same level as the poke I've had in Oahu. My husband encouraged me to try this place because he heard from friends that this is the best poke in Orange County. I agree! Kawamata in Dana Point was my top choice but I think they are equally amazing now. I ordered half ahi tuna and half salmon over brown rice. Spicy was actually not that spicy but it was so flavorful. Can't wait to come back with my husband!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I would be careful going here. I took the trip to try this place labeled as "the best poke outside Hawaii" or the "freshest". However, the store was literally closed cause of being SOLD OUT OF FISH. It was 3 in the afternoon and I was pretty upset that I wasted my time and money parking to just get declined food due to poor communication of service hours. Seems like a pretty flaky business and I don't ever want to comeback to even try the poke now. Kinda disappointed of this first impression. I usually don't make raging reviews, but I felt like this was necessary.
google avatar

CJ L.

Yelp
This place is 100% every time I go. The food, staff and the overall atmosphere. Very welcoming and hospitable. Definitely a must check out when you're in the area
google avatar

Taryn C.

Yelp
One of my go-to poke places in downtown Huntington Beach. The interior of the restaurant reminds me of a local place in Oahu. Portions aren't super large & while prices are on the more expensive side, the fish is fresh. -small: $14 (two fish) -large: $16 (three fish) I always order the tuna and salmon & they have plenty of sauces to choose from (spicy, not spicy, sweet & more). They charge +$1 extra if you choose half and half for the base (greens and rice). I'd recommend this restaurant if you want a quick bite that's not too heavy. It's a good option in the HB area if you're looking for a more casual poke place - perfect for taking to the beach.
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Such an amazing poke place! My best friend and I went here and we were blown away by how similar it tastes to hawaii, as we went together a couple years ago. The fish is so so fresh and they give you a good portion. It was the perfect size and the avocado and sauces were great touches. We were also excited to have the delicious Hawaiian drink we had in hawaii. The lychee one is just so refreshing.
google avatar

Lishya H.

Yelp
Came here on Monday, Memorial Day, on to my surprise, the service wasn't good. The girl called my name when my order was ready and she didn't even let me know if I need to pick up my own utensils, she just put it on the table and she walked away. Kind of rude. The food is good, but not spectacular, far beyond real poke in Hawaii. I don't think I won't be driving all the way from Chino Hills just to get their poke.
google avatar

Don N.

Yelp
Poke: 5/5 Price/Portions: 3/5 Parking: 3/5 Their poke is simple yet very tasty. I ordered the Small Poke Bowl with Pipeline and Waimea sauce, Salmon, white rice, crispy garlic, cucumber, and furikake. Portions are smaller than most poke places around and on the pricier end. Parking is tough, especially since it's right next to the beach.
google avatar

Mariela M.

Yelp
It was my first time seeing and going to this place. Service was amazing, the girl who was taking the order was really nice and very sweet towards everybody. As well the food was great and very fresh and very flavorful Plus the ambiance was really great. The decorations were really nice felt very clean and homey. Definitely coming back when I can

Yelp
Visited last week on a Thursday at 4PM, only to find they were already sold out of fish!!! The owner suggested coming earlier next time. So, we returned this week on Wednesday at 2 PM, only to discover they've updated their hours and are now CLOSED on Wednesdays! Another review mentioned fish selling out by 2PM. Kind of crazy being closed three days a week with limited hours? I've been disappointed twice in a row. Perhaps using social media to update customers on inventory and hours would prevent wasted time and gas for many.

Randy S.

Yelp
Stopped here after a long bike ride. Great place. Cool vibe. Excellent FRESH Fish. Do yourself a favor. Stop and have some Poke and rest in the moment. Mahalo
google avatar

Abdul D.

Yelp
$34 for 2 small bowls , taste was ok but small portions, wouldn't go again, there are better poke spots in the area like bear flag
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
I have to rewrite my review because this place is just that good. I just got back from the islands and was craving some poke, so of course I had to stop here. This is the most authentic poke spot and the fish is always so fresh. The array of different sauces are all impeccable. I especially love the coconut Waimea and Pipeline. You have to add the blue crab! Most places offer imitation crab, and again it is insanely fresh. To top it all off I just love seeing the workers! The girl who takes your order is always so sweet and just adds to the atmosphere. It's like my little island escape and the only poke place I'll stop at.

Kennedy V.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the longest and the poke is always so fresh and yummy. I've tried so many poke places in socal but in my opinion this place comes first when it comes to fresh fish and flavor. It is a little pricey but price doesn't really matter to me when we're paying for good quality fish. I also love that they don't drench the fish in sauce (but if that's you like you can always ask for extra sauce lol). Morgan at the front is also the sweetest ever! she's always greeting us with a smile and even gave us a little sample bowl of poke to try today:))
google avatar

Jasmine N.

Yelp
It's pretty pricey these days, it used to be my go to. The salmon is just not as tasty as I remember it to be--something about the texture or cut of the fish could just be a little bit better. Overall, I might come back if I don't find another place that's not full of mix-ins.
google avatar

Ann Y.

Yelp
3.5 but rounded up for the FRESH FISH Pros - fish is super clean and fresh - friendly staff - Hawaiian/ Asian refreshments - poke tasted yummy (after adding more extra toppings) Cons - portions small and large same size box. At least give us more rice/salad for larger order - the toppings garlic chip (shredded tiny pieces), daikon (not grated but chopped) and furikake was hardly there. I had to ask for more on the side see photo - long line (but quick service!) and hard to find parking

Yelp
This place was highly recommended for poke and I could see why. The fish was fresh and delicious. Everything went so well together. The staff are friendly and helpful as well. They had a variety of different sauces and the menu says how spicy each of the sauces were. However, I did not taste any spiciness even though I got a medium spicy sauce. It was still very delicious though. My only complaint was that the portion size was quite small. I wish they gave more of their delicious poke!

Yelp
As a poke bowl enthusiast, I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it fell far below my expectations. I ordered a large poke bowl with tortilla chips base, 3 types of fish and all free extras. The images on yelp and the promises in reviews led me to believe I'd receive a standard poke bowl similar to what I've enjoyed at other places. However, I was shocked to find my order presented in a to-go cup alongside a bag of tortilla chips. Given the unconventional presentation, I decided to give the taste a fair chance. Regrettably, the flavor did not live up to the positive reviews I'd read, and I don't think I received all 3 fish with all free extras as I ordered. Large poke bowl + Hawaiian Sun juice + gratuity cost me $25. I expected a satisfying meal that justified the cost, but sadly, that wasn't the case.
