I’ve been going to NWP for years, and this is my first bad experience. I called ahead of time to ask if they had the single slices out because I was going to get their lunch special (comes with 2 slices of pizza and drink). The person who answered the phone said they had both pepperoni and cheese slices available. I said that’s great and that I was going to send my husband over to get the lunch specials for us. We live across the street from the center that NWP is at so my husband was there in about 5 minutes after I hung up with the worker. When my husband got there much to my surprise there were NO slices available. The staff told him that they were making more pizzas and that they would push the cheese pizza so we can get our order faster. After he was waiting for a while they told him that it’s going to take another 15 minutes because they’re backed up. I’m really disappointed in the customer service over the phone. The woman who answered clearly lied and it’s just annoying. My husband is literally still there waiting. This is my only negative experience after going to NWP for over 10 years. If it wasn’t for this experience I would leave a 5 star review because I love that they sell their lunch special all day and that their slices are massive. I always get the cheese lunch special. Also, I asked the woman if they had cookies. If you know about their cookies then you will feel my pain that they were out of their chocolate chip cookies when she said they still had them! My husband ended up getting the sugar cookies which are good, but aren’t on the same level as their delicious chocolate chip cookies. Whoever was working on 3/25/25 at 6 (it’s 6:39pm as I write this) needs to get written up or something. EDIT: My husband just got home and I was excited to eat and the same lady who made all those mistakes gave us a pepperoni lunch special instead of two cheeses! Luckily my husband can eat pepperoni unlike me. If they both ended up being pepperoni he would’ve had to go back. How can you confuse cheese with pepperoni???? SMH.

Google
Local neighborhood pizzeria. They make decent pizza, fresh ingredients, no complaints - just make sure you order thin crust, in my humble opinion. Not a lot of room inside, but a good place should be packed anyway. Some patrons are greedy and take fistfuls of the Parmesan and pepper packets or a tower of napkins, which is frankly rude and ridiculous. Fortunately, the staff kindly refill their supplies after a hoarder hits!

We just moved to Irvine, and we didn’t know where a great place to eat pizza was. I found this place by luck because we received a coupon in our mailbox and wanted to try this out. This will be our second time ordering here and this place doesn’t disappoint. My toddler loves the pizza there. If he approves, then of course the parents are very much happy campers. We ordered: - Chicken wings (Amazing. Fresh. You could really tell it was season in-house. It’s not like Costco chicken wings lol. I prefer this over Costco. Honestly. - Meat lovers’ pizza - Half pizza of cheese and veggies - Meatballs The pizza and the topping are amazing. The veggies are fresh. The pizza sauce is good. Everything just blended so well together. You can never go wrong with this place. This is a must try!!!

When you think of pepperoni pizza this is where you get it. I love how thin, crispy, slightly charred each pepperoni is. This is a takeout only place. No seats inside. The staff is friendly and pizza is done around 20-30 minutes. They also have individual cheese or pepperoni slices usually available all day.

Independently owned, Northwood Pizza has been in the neighborhood for 40 or 50yrs, so basically half a century...It was originated by a couple who retired, both their managers bought the name & kept the traditional recipes, hence continuing the legacy...However, they downsized from a full dine-in pizza place with sports TVs & a full arcade where Dada Shabu Shabu is now to a small take-out in the same strip mall just across from the previous location...Service & pizza are great, sugar cookies are wonderful...My cousins from out of town have traveled alot, ordered a couple loaded pizzas, & exclaimed it was one of the best pizzas they have had...They also serve cheese pizza slices & pepperoni pizza slices...🥊🍺😁🍺🥊

Honestly this is the BEST pizza I’ve had since childhood. It reminds me of the local shops that no longer exist. The delivery is AMAZING! Always hot and perfect. I’m speechless I don’t know what else to say but WOW. This is your sign to try it!! Their cheese pizza won me over and I’m not a big cheese only fan and that’s all I get. Their pep!! Woo.

Google
Great pizza, not crazy expensive, fast casual service I've never been disappointed.

Google
Really pleasantly surprised by how good this pie was. I got the extra thin crust and it was phenomenal. I am excited to try another one soon.

Yelp
The Northwood special pizza is fresh, flavorful and the dough is soooo good!!! Also, the antipasto salad is amazing! It may not be fancy or spacious but the service is always top notch. Definitely worth it!

Yelp
This review is for the "Northwood Pizza" parlor at their Irvine, CA location. We'll just go by the numbers. 1. Decent-sized pizza. 2. The cheese had a good flavor. 3. Marinara Pizza Sauce was a tiny bit too sweet (why we gave 4 stars). 4. Good for the price. 5. Great dough and crust. Now my one (1) complaint. 6. Neither pizza box was sealed, and they were both open to the world. ***************** Aside from the marinara sauce, we had no real food complaints. If anything, we'd ask that they spice up their marinara pizza sauce and give it a little kick (their marinara tastes far too sugary and sweet vs. Tangy). Here's a minor suggestion. Years ago I used to order cheese pizza from a smaller "mom and pop" pizza-parlor that offered different sauces. In my case they used to offer a spicy Arrabiata sauce for their cheese pizzas (in lieu of marinara). It gave their pizza's a wonderful spicy flavor without having to add pepperoni. Anyway, this is my suggestion. Now more on my one (1) complaint. I've noticed that the wide majority of restaurants seal their boxes and bags if their food is going to be delivered via any of the many delivery services (I.e., themselves, or GrubHub, DoorDash, UberEats, etc...). Especially, post-COVID. They usually staple the bags shut and place a ROUND sticker on the lip of their pizza boxes sealing it closed so people can tell if its been opened or tampered with. Our pizza box had no sticker of any kind and was open to the world. We were surprised at this, and will not order delivery from this business again for this reason. However, we will do pickup if we're in the mood for pizza, and are near their location in the future. Like we said, it was decent pizza. Thank you.

Yelp
Ordered pizza online and grabbed it to go. Pretty straightforward, fast and delicious. They offer all sorts of pizzas and sides like chicken wings. They do have a website and can take orders. And the website does have some specials. This store is really more for pick up place. Helpful folks too!

Yelp
Finally get a chance to try this place after moving to Northwood 3 years ago, and it didn't disappoint! Looking at the pictures, I thought it was just your neighborhood pizza place where you go only if you need a late night meal. But after trying it, I now understand why it's been around for so long and still has such high ratings. We ordered a XL 16" (12 slices) for one adult and three pizza-loving kids. It was nice that we were able to order half-half and customize each half -- white pizza (white sauce + tomato) and bbq chicken for us. My kids usually only eat (and like) cheese pizza from costco, but they really enjoyed this one. I liked the chewy crust and the juicy pieces of chicken. Ok, so it's a bit more expensive than costco but you've got to support the local neighborhood's business WHILE enjoying great pizza right?

Yelp
Got the meateaters pizza delivered by Grubhub and it was delicious! The delivery was fast!

Yelp
Self proclaimed pizza snob here. This place gets really good reviews. The delivery was fast and the pizza was hot. That's the good. I thought the cheese was over cooked and the bottom of the pizza undercooked. Sauce was ok. Kids kind of liked it but told me it's a 3.5 star rating...I agree. Raised them well.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the best....they DON'T charge for extra toppings....I custom order all kinds of extra stuff. And the delivery fee is like $3? I get 8 pieces of pizza and if I eat a slice for lunch and a slice for dinner, that lasts me 4 days...You have to eat is with a knife and fork...no way you can pick up a slice and not have everything fall off.

Yelp
Extra thin is the best in irvine. I get pizza here at least once a month. The workers are always kind, and they always have deals on their website. Glad they are around north irvine.

Yelp
Ordered online. 2 pizzas, medium, one with sausage & tomatoes & one with mushroom & tomato. They were ready when I walked in 5 minutes early. Crust was a little charred & pizza was delicious. Will be back.

Yelp
First time visiting local pizza shop. Just moved to Northwood area and saw great reviews. No questions on why. I showed up 20 minutes before they closed and staff was more than welcoming. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Friendly, fast, and recommended by locals. Most people are picking up to go orders. I liked that they have pizza by the slice. If you like a thicker chewy style crust, you'll like Northwood. I had a couple pepperoni slices and really liked the sauce and how nicely crisped but not burnt the pepperoni is. It is all smiles inside from the workers and I got my order within seconds. The establishment of straight forward and functional, couple benches outside if you need to eat now.

Yelp
The pizzas are awesome! We ordered the mini cheese pizza with tomatoes and garlic.. Delicious! I ordered the grinder sandwich which was a little disappointing for the simple fact that it was a hot sandwich that had lettuce on it. With all the deli meats, Italian dressing, cheese and tomatoes, I don't think the lettuce should be included in the hot version of the sandwich. Next time I'll just order it cold. Anyway, I do recommend the place as it has lots of options and quality ingredients. Service was excellent. They have no seating inside but there is an outdoor patio area to dine in.

Yelp
I've been living in orange since the early 90's. When I was a kid (about 7) my mother would take my little brother and I to your location in Orange. We would each get a pizza stick and share a coke and then dump quarters into your Cruisin' USA arcade game. I later found out that my mother took us here because not only was it affordable, but we had a great time each time we went and it felt like home. I can't tell you how many memories I have from this place, which is why I was absolutely devastated when the orange location closed. Fast forward 30 years, I have never left Orange and have been missing my pizza sticks MY ENTIRE ADULT LIFE. I literally just was talking to my brother about that place and decided to look online to see if there were pictures from that location ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT YOU HAD ANOTHER LOCATION THIS ENTIRE TIME!!!!! Needless to say, I came in today for lunch and had the pizza sticks.... They haven't changed, the pillowy French bread, the crisp edges, the perfect mozzarella cheese, and those burnt pieces of pepperoni crunching in the mix. I would be lying if I said that I didn't get emotional sitting in my car as floods of memories filled my head from the "good ol' days". Thank you Northwood Pizza for bringing me back to my childhood for awhile. I will be a regular from now on.

Yelp
The service here is excellent! Highly recommend the turkey salad for a healthy alternative to the pizza, if you have a person in your party who needs that.

Yelp
Walked in at about 6pm and ordered a pizza on a Saturday night. The wait was about 30 minutes. Pizza was light on sauce but the crust was really good. Friendly staff. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
The Pizza is delicious! The staff is friendly and efficient! Worth the drive from Orange and close to the Tustin Marketplace. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Pizza was delicious. Got the lunch special and it was definitely worth it. The pizza was sitting out a bit but it was still delicious. A good deal if you want a good slice of pizza for a reasonable price. Definitely worth trying here!

Yelp
This place is our newest go to pizza place when in Irvine. The cheese and hawaiian pizza with pepperoni was a delight. You also have an option to get a regular or thin crust. We want our pizza to be plain, simple, and tasty. Service is always pleasant. There is seating area inside the shop but there are few tables and chairs outside that is also convenient.

Yelp
Best place for delivery pizza in Irvine. Great crust, and high quality toppings! Order extra, perfect for next day lunch.

Yelp
Service was good for sure to get. My mini pizza was amazing to get it fresh. Wish decor was slightly more thoughtful. Nice pricing to get something to eat here.

Yelp
Great pizza, great service, and even greater family running it. Thanks, Northwood Pizza.

Uyen-Thanh N.

Yelp
Good decent pizza because I taste a cheese blend (I'm guessing 90% whole milk mozz and 10% muenster) and not just pure mozzarella and that's what keeps me coming back a few times already. Just wished they used more of the other cheese that's not mozzarella. Pepperoni itself is pretty standard. It's very convenient that they serve the slice all day and not just during lunch like most places but that's where it's a hit and miss. Some days the pizza slice was quite dry because it's been sitting there for some time. $3.50 each pepperoni slice. Overall 3.5/5 for the taste so it's an upgrade to 4/5 stars

Yelp
I love Northwood Pizza! This is a classic hole in the wall local pizza joint with teenagers behind the counter. The pizza is really good (I get pineapple with a side of Jalapeños), the cheesy garlic bread is awesome. If you get a cheese pizza get a large because their oven overcooks the cheese on a small, but their large cheese pizza is awesome. I don't know why but I like their cheese pizza better than anyone else's.

Yelp
My wife grew up in the Northwood neighborhood. We ordered Northwood Pizza one of the first times visiting her parents, who still live in the neighborhood after a few years hiatus. The pizza had the flavor that gave me nostalgia just like I grew up in the area. If you were born mid 70s to mid 80s, you know this type of joint as the place where you had your sports team parties (little league, AYSO, pop-warner, etc). The pizza is delicious! I particularly fond of the Northwood Special & the Antipasto Salad. The last time we ordered online: 2 mediums, 2 minis and an antipasto salad. Delivery had it to us within 20 minutes, piping hot & delicious! This place is an absolute treasure. I wish we could have something similar near us in Las Vegas!
google avatar

Yelp
Northwood Pizza has been a Northwood staple as far back as I can remember (which is the 80s in the same center but in the location Dada Shabu is now) As a kid we went there for class parties and it was the place to hang out after school. Because it was one of the first places I had pizza, it has long been what I considered pizza should taste like. In the 90s I think they expanded to have locations in Tustin and Orange, but unfortunately ended up closing. Needless to say I was so happy when I found out another local family who used to work at the restaurant was able to reopen with their legacy recipes! 30+ years later my kid goes to dance next door and I get to share this with my family. Today's Northwood Pizza still uses quality ingredients, chewy crust, robust red sauce and a truly unique cheese blend. I love the French bread based garlic cheese bread when I'm feeling nostalgic. My dad loves the Hawaiian pizza and requests me to pick it up for him when we are in the area. It's no longer a "hang out spot" but the service is always friendly and efficient. I hope that they keep serving the neighborhood for generations to come!
google avatar

Mari Z.

Yelp
The absolute best in Orange County! Every time I eat here I say, I'm gonna write my review and I'm finally writing it today. Close to my apartment and always serving fresh slices of pizza no matter the hour. I'm so obsessed that I have to literally stop myself from going. Super convenient and great pricing. Love y'all. lol
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
The pizza is about as average as you can get. Average crust with good sauce and average toppings. I was very surprised how average this pizza was since it had great ratings. It reminded me of my college days eating Little Caesars. The best thing here was the spaghetti. Noodles cooked perfectly and the sauce is great. If this place was named Northwood Spaghetti, I would have been less disappointed.
google avatar

April Y.

Yelp
This place S L A PS. Ok? What have I been doing for the past 3 years ordering from Pizza Hut? Since my recent discovery of Northwood pizza, I've ordered 3x in two weeks. If you miss the taste of Costco's combo pizza, this is your place. It tastes even better though, like an elevated Costco combo pizza. Give it a try!
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
GREAT food at a decent price - especially the small portion. Their crust is not too thick - just perfect, and AMAZING portions of pineapple and delicious Canadian bacon on their Hawaiian pizza. Not oily, just right - It was hands down the best pizza I've ever had at the perfect time that I needed it.

Yelp
I think the pies are better at chunky cheese, even the uneven pizza chuck serves deserves more stars than this atrocious establishment. Boboli was better.

Yelp
How????? How can the pizza be this good?? Pizza can never fail.. i know. But this is amazing!!! So my husband ordered one before, and he didn't have a good experience. But i still wanted to try out the closest local pizza place. I ordered medium hawaiian pizza and caesar salad, and picked up at the store. It costs $26... i thought it was little pricy, but it was okay. It was worth it. There was a full of cheese smell in my car while driving back. I already knew it will be great. Starting with Caesar salad, i didn't expect it to be so fresh and crunchy! And had a bite of pizza.. OMG isnt this heaven! Sweet pineapple and Canadian bacon.. and why is the cheese so good??? Full of flavor, but not too salty or saucy. Had this with extra anejo tequila.. yum..! I am so happy i tried this place, and found my favorite pizza place!

DB K.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area! From cheese pizza to vegetarian pizza, they were all so good that whenever we get pizza, I always call Northwood.

Sandy B.

Yelp
The pizza has always been rather mid in my opinion . I usually ordered delivery. I went in twice to place an order. First of all, I wasn't acknowledged. Second, I waited for the guy to take my order . Third, since he decide to ignore my presence I left the restaurant . I went in again a month later. I still received the same "service". So it's interesting when people say they're friendly. They're not at all.

Michelle L.

Yelp
I went to Northwood Pizza for the first time today. I had picked up an online order and asked for a couple of sauces to add on. The worker told the customer in front of me that they were getting 20% off their order because they were first time customers. When I asked for the extra sauces, I mentioned I was a first time customer but I was still charged for the sauces. The pizza was average, when I got back to my house I noticed they didn't give me olives on the pizza I had ordered.

Yelp
My new favorite pizza place! As a 15 years plus resident of Irvine, I'm embarrassed to say that my first time trying Northwood Pizza was this year. My local go-tos has always been First Class or Ameci's and I stuck with what I knew. A few months ago, my son's baseball team had a party at Lamppost Pizza (sorry Northwood for dropping all these competitor names btw), and I thought the pizza was so good! My point being is that I never considered Northwood until after trying Lamppost... thought that I might be missing out on better, LOCAL pizza. I was. I love, LOVE the pizza here! I usually order the thin crust and everyone in my family gets their own (Hawaiian for hubs, pepperoni/sausage for my son, and the Northwood Special - basically a deluxe - for me). Everyone finishes their pie, nothing gets wasted ever! A small size is good for an individual but we prefer medium (nothing like cold pizza in the morning!). The mini is good for a toddler, too small for a 7-8 year old. Ordered their Buffalo wings once and it was decent. The star of the show are their pizzas, though. Prices are good for what you get - quality tasting ingredients and a solid pizza w/ generous toppings. I suggest ordering directly from their website as they sometimes have online coupons that offer good deals. They offer delivery for $3 in the evenings.

Kevin V.

Yelp
We have eaten there now 3 times. First time the pizza was good, the second time it was not so I told my wife that we would give them one more try and the pizza was dry and chewy like it was made hours before then reheated and stuck in a box. Never again.

Jun Pyo L.

Yelp
I just moved to Irvine two weeks ago. Taste good~~~ I love northwood special pizza so much...

Yelp
Northwood pizza is definitely a solid choice for a pizza night. Ambiance- there is none, it's strictly a to go diner who sells their pies to eat at home. There are some tables outside in the front if you want to eat quickly but by no means is it a sit down restaraunt. You can grab a slice or two to go on it's own without getting a whole pie Food- their pizza and wings are solid. Traditional type pizza, some what resmembling round table. Not thing crust but not too thick either. They have a great gluten free pizza as well my son loves. Tuesday's you can get two mediums for 27 unlimited toppings. Definitely their best deal. Service- workers are always super nice and efficient when you call and pick up. Another plus is once you're in the system they know you when you call. They also offer delivery with door dash. Overall a solid spot and option, especially in tuesdays for their special.

Yelp
I've been ordered pizza from here for years. This is my go-to pizza place and they have never let me down. Best service, best taste. Best employees. We ordered to have it delivered to the pool and the pizza was delivered with plates, utensils and plenty of napkins! Little gestures like this are so thoughtful and makes me want to keep supporting this place! Thank you!

Eldad Y.

Yelp
Manny and his crew rock, the best pizza in town PERIOD! Me and my family have been going to Northwood pizza for years. We appreciate the great food, amazing service and reasonable pricing Location is comfortable with lots of parking available during the day If you're in the area and feel like u want to have something to eat, Northwood Pizza is the place to go to

Yelp
I'm a NYC pizza snob, and this isn't that. But it's not bad if you get the super thin crust pizza. You can order online and they usually have a coupon and occasional specials.

Yelp
Love their pizza, good size portions. Pretty cheap compared to most pizza places. my friends work there too!
google avatar

Yelp
Got two pizzas from here with a pepperoni and a supreme. Pizza was pretty great. Crust was solid. Place inside was super clean and had a TV on with the game on. Does seem like it's more set up for to-go orders and they're pretty quick on handling that.
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty pizza! Ordered a mini personal- perfect 4 slices. They were generous with the toppings and it was fresh ingredients. Highly recommend this pizza place!
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza we have had in the area so far. Absolutely delicious. The sauce is exceptional. They have specials on certain days. We ordered pizza delivered for our first experience. We had pepperoni, onion, bell pepper and black olives. We will be back to try other items on the menu. It all sounds great!

Yelp
Solid local pizza joint. Never knew about this spot since it's like a hole in the wall. But the food quality is better than any pizza chain places. Ordered over phone a L pizza (12 slices) and got half & half of meat lovers and the Northwood special. Also got 18 piece wings on the side for 4 people. Fed us perfectly. Price came out be approx $11 per person in our party and it was worth every buck. The crust was really good which is very important. Definitely want to try the meatball sandwich next time around.

Kate S.

Yelp
Northwood Pizza is the absolute best. Great pizza, wonderful people, and locally owned! We also always order delivery and they are super fast with wonderful delivery drivers. Absolutely recommend them!
