We stopped here for dinner one night, while visiting friends who had moved up here. We went here, and I was instantly in love with the interior. It's really, really cute. Everything is bright and cheerful, and the different colors and textures work so well together. Is it trendy, with a lot of cliche decor elements? Yes. But is it executed well? YES. And as weird as this may sound, my favorite part of the place was actual liquid hand soap in the bathroom. So many places use foam now, and I never feel like my hands are clean enough (yes - I know this is random and weird).
I'm not a beer drinker, so I can't speak to the beer. My husband ordered a flight, and then ordered a regular sized IPA. This place loses a star because of their lack of non-beer options. I know it's a brewery, but they also serve really excellent food. It would be nice if children, pregnant women, or just non-beer drinkers had a few more options. I had an elderflower soda, which was okay.
The food was incredible. My husband and I both ordered specials: I had the little pig, which was pork belly and a super fresh and bright tasting slaw (and an order of fries), and my husband had the cornbread stuffed pork shoulder. Both dishes were amazing. We both ordered dessert as well. He had the charred corn coconut cream pie, and I had an herby blueberry sorbet. Again, both were amazing.
The service was excellent - with one flaw. We had ordered an appetizer of pimiento cheese, and we never received it. Being from the south, we were both looking forward to it, but oh well. Our server was incredibly friendly and efficient. The food took a while to come out, but that was communicated to us when we ordered, which is so helpful (I don't understand why more businesses seem incapable of just keeping their customers informed).
