"After making a return to the Dallas dining scene in August 2019, chef Avner Samuel is stepping down from his new restaurant Nosh Bistro (not to be confused with his shuttered Oak Lawn restaurant Nosh Euro Bistro). Samuel opened Nosh Bistro this past summer at 8611 Hillcrest Road, but now the restaurant is announcing that the chef is retiring to spend more time with his family. Nosh will continue on under the leadership of Chef Ryan Carbery, who plans to revamp the food and bar menu. “It has been such a joy to cook for the people of North Texas,” Samuel said in a release. “I am excited to spend more time with my family and am proud to have Chef Ryan Carbery continue the Nosh story.”" - Adele Chapin

"Chef Avner Samuel’s return to Dallas’s dining scene with a familiar name is official. The chef, who once cooked at Oak Lawn restaurant Nosh Euro Bistro which shuttered in 2015, is working on yet another restaurant called Nosh. As predicted, Nosh Bistro is headed to 8611 Hillcrest Road with an opening scheduled for August 13. Samuel spent the past two and half years in Israel, according to a press release, and he plans to incorporate Mediterranean flavors (along with American and Asian touches). Dishes will include Wagyu Kobe burger, seared divers scallops, and black Maine lobster ravioli, with steak and eggs and French thin crepes for brunch. The restaurant will include a 12-seat chef’s table, an open kitchen, and a patio. Nosh Bistro officially opens August 13 and will operate Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Adele Chapin

"Permit applications filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission indicate that Samuel is plotting a new restaurant called Nosh Bistro at 8611 Hillcrest Road, in the space formerly occupied by Dish Preston Hollow. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because it’s pretty much identical to Nosh Euro Bistro, the Oak Lawn restaurant that Samuel shuttered in 2015. Via his Instagram account, Samuel has been showing off everything from truffle-showered macaroni and cheese to chicken and waffles and roasted bone marrow in recent months, likely providing hints as to what awaits on the menu when Nosh arrives." - Amy McCarthy

Fantastic experience here! I love here! Foie Gras is a Must Try! Delicious food that I did not expected. Services are good. I am gonna come often!

At These Prices, We Expect Much More We aren't averse to paying top dollars, which is what Nosh Bistro charges (see photos). But at these prices, we expected a chef that caters to our wishes, wait staff that knows the cuisine, and a decor sans football-showing TVs. Expensive fare, poor service, dingy decor isn't a good combination.

Food was just fine. Expensive for what you pay for. Service was nice but we felt a little overwhelmed...

This place is overrated. Bar tender was weird. Waiter went over too many specials to remember. Short ribs extremely dry, do not order! Had to send back to the kitchen. Ordered mix grill plate instead. Ordered medium, received well done. Had to send back again to the kitchen. 3rd plate was better but sausage was undercooked. Manager comped meal and brought 3 desserts to the table. Donuts, ice cream and another flowery dessert. All 3 were horrible. This place was not worth the price. The only positive was the decor. We won’t be back.

These reviews are funny. Host was friendly and interior is nicely finished. The rest of the night was average at best. Drinks at the start were good. Cigar app, while creative is bland without adding all the sauce. Chopped salad was a joke. Waiter didn’t really know the menu, he couldn’t explain some of the dishes (gravel dessert...it has chocolate it’s my favorite - ha). Food runner rushed to our table and dropped the dishes and then had to rearrange due to not knowing what anyone ordered. Food came out really fast, which makes me think they have stuff pre plated. Short rib was dry and nothing special. Gnocchi was ok but lukewarm when arrived. Halibut was ok but geez $45!?!?! Dessert was solid, except the donuts have pop rocks which took away from a nice dish. Gravel was good. Overall ok, but based on cost, I would not return.

Had the most outstanding culinary experience tonight dining at Nosh Bistro! Chef Avner is back and better than ever! The tasting menu is the way to go although everything is fresh and cooked to perfection. This man is a culinary genius! The ambiance at Nosh is hip and happening and makes you want to stay on long after you have eaten.

Popped in and sat at the bar. Looking for a light meal and cocktails. Service was great, attentive but not over bearing. The Maza plate was delicious, and ended up ordering an extra falafel as that was our favorite. Could be our new neighborhood go to.
