This was the first restaurant we wandered into when we arrived in Berlin, and we sure got lucky! It was cold and snowy outside, and the candlelit tables, untreated wood floors, and navy chair railing were so inviting. I had the blood sausage, and my boyfriend had one of the fish dishes. Delicious! I also had the daily soup option and was not at all disappointed. We saw a large group of young folks (mind you, I'm 32, so these people were probably only 27 or so!) eating the 3-tiered breakfast trays, and those looked wonderful.
A few days later, after shopping on my own in the wonderful Prenzlauerberg antique stores, I stopped in for a glass of wine and a few hours of mid-afternoon newspaper-reading. The service was lovely, and I never felt rushed to move on even though I only got one glass of wine.
You can't find place more inviting or charming than November! The second time I ate there, I stopped for a picture of the restaurant as I left. Another man was taking a picture, and he turned to me and said (in German), I've been here twice in two days! So apparently other people like it, too!
