The Hit List: New Barcelona Restaurants To Try Right Now - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"In 2024, Barcelona’s Olympic port area got a facelift. Gone are the tired old paella joints that once served overpriced, microwaved rice to tourists and, in their place, a shiny new pier with giant-windowed restaurants that look more Dubai than Barcelona (and are priced accordingly). Thankfully, they have substance, like Nuara, the latest from a local family that has been serving rice at their casual Ca La Nuri restaurants for six decades. Nuara is posher than Ca La Nuri, but no less friendly, and the paella is just as hearty—the surf n’ turf rice with grilled calamari, pork belly, and mushrooms is the one to home in on. The glow-up can be seen in the tuna tartare made from Balfegó red tuna, a.k.a. the Rolls-Royce of Catalan tuna, topped with creamy burrata and pistachios, or the local lobster sautéed with eggs and fried potatoes." - isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger, isabelle kliger

We arrived in Barcelona for the first time after a long drive from the Marqués de Riscal hotel, and NUARA was one of the top recommendations we found on Condé Nast — and it truly lived up to the praise. This restaurant is a must-visit. The location is stunning, elegant, warm, and beautifully classy. Ariana, our host, was exceptional — attentive, welcoming, and absolutely spot-on with her recommendations. We ordered the fish coqueta and the shrimp paella, both incredible. And the flan… absolutely to die for! A perfect first meal in Barcelona. Highly recommend NUARA to anyone looking for excellent food, service, and atmosphere.

Absolutely an exquisite experience. Everything about our dinner there was fantastic. Great food in a wonderful place with great staff at reasonable prices. Our waitress Judit looked after us so well. She helped us order and everything she suggested was fantastic. We shared starters, three paellas and deserts. Strongly recommended. We will be back.

I recently dined at Nuara, and it was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and elegant, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable meal. The highlight of my experience was the lobster paella, which was a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were rich and harmonious, with perfectly cooked lobster that melted in my mouth. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the chef's expertise and passion for seafood. The starters were equally impressive, with a variety of flavors that tantalized the taste buds. The Andalusian-style squid was a personal favorite, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. What truly set Nuara apart was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our glasses were never empty and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Their recommendations were spot-on, especially when it came to pairing the dishes with the amazing sangria they offer. It was refreshing, bursting with flavor, and the perfect accompaniment to our seafood feast. Overall, Nuara is a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience on the coast. With outstanding food, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere, I can’t wait to return!

My wife and I absolutely love Nuara! We had such a great experience across the board. We were greeted and attended to so warmly by Sara, the space is beautiful and modern (with a very large outdoor space as well) and the food is delicious. We started with the pan con tomate which was served as we like it in a "DIY" fashion where you add some EVOO, a pinch of salt and then rub a tomato on it. Next, the tempura prawn cubes with kimchi mayonnaise, these were generous pieces (and a large serving) of plump, tasty lightly-breaded shrimp and the mayo was great. The sirloin steak tartare with café de paris butter was also top-notch. The sirloin cut led for really deep flavors and the texture was perfect, probably some of the best we've ever had. For our main we had the grilled sea bass, it was cooked perfectly and had just the right taste of smoke from the grill. They also have an extensive wine list. We will definitely return soon. Go!

I came here alone, close to closing time, and they were very kind and let me sit down. The head waiter (I think it was him) was really friendly and helped me choose what to eat. I loved the ice in my drink , professional style ice, not the usual kind. Such a cool detail! The table was clean and the place looked very nice. The food was super fresh. The tartare was amazing, and the prosciutto was also very good. The location is lovely, near the port. I liked it so much I told my friends, and they came the next day! PS I come for the second time , lovly paella and thanks to the Italian Girl for be kind and professional. See you nex time . Buon lavoro 🍷

I really like the interior design with details everywhere. We chose to dine inside but on the terrace it would have been equally amazing as it faces straight the yachts harbor. The vibes absolutely tops! We come for paella, but when we sat down, Richard showed us the fresh catch of the white fish of the day, they look absolutely divine. I had 2 glasses of great Chablis to go with the food. They make beautiful mocktails as well! Service is flawless with attention to details! Thank you Richard ( I hope I got your name right!) and team for the great experience! I don’t usually write reviews a lot anymore but Barcelona seems to have got me started again, especially Nuara team. Will definitely come back!

Came here tonight for our last night in bcn. Ate paella for the first time…. It was good although I’m unsure how it’s supposed to taste. Service was great! Waiter was very attentive and sweet. Nice ambiance!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this place. From the moment we walked in, it just felt comfortable and welcoming. The food was cooked perfectly, but the service really stood out. Our waiter David was amazing super attentive, knew the menu well, and made us feel right at home.
