Nuara - Review - Vila Olímpica - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"In 2024, Barcelona’s Olympic port area got a facelift. Gone are the tired old paella joints that once served overpriced, microwaved rice to tourists and, in their place, a shiny new pier with giant-windowed restaurants that look more Dubai than Barcelona (and are priced accordingly). Thankfully, they have substance, like Nuara, the latest from a local family that has been serving rice at their casual Ca La Nuri restaurants for six decades. Nuara is posher than Ca La Nuri, but no less friendly, and the paella is just as hearty—the surf n’ turf rice with grilled calamari, pork belly, and mushrooms is the one to home in on. The glow-up can be seen in the tuna tartare made from Balfegó red tuna, a.k.a. the Rolls-Royce of Catalan tuna, topped with creamy burrata and pistachios, or the local lobster sautéed with eggs and fried potatoes." - Isabelle Kliger
