The 37 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri | Eater

"What happens when a master of pho wants to open a ramen restaurant to rival the best in the world? He gets help. Qui Tran, of Vietnamese institution Mai Lee, and executive chef-partner Marie-Anne Velasco hired Shigetoshi Nakamura, one of the world’s four “ramen gods,” as a consultant and worked with the legendary Sun Noodle to develop their noodle recipe. After years of R&D, Nudo opened its doors in Creve Coeur in 2017 with a menu of seven different ramen styles, along with a small sampling of pho. Start with the Classic Nudo, a traditional tonkotsu ramen; the broth is clabbered and rich, the color of the inside of a cloud, while the noodles retain their firm center. The diverse menu also includes a selection of cold Asian salads, fresh spring rolls, and the city’s most delicious crab rangoon, and there are four different banh mis that are great for dunking into Nudo’s broths — as long as you don’t mind stinkeye from fussbudget foodies." - Holly Fann

I brought my date here one night and ended up scoring with her later that night. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly. The interior has a nice vibe however it can get overwhelming crowded depending on the night. 9.4/10 I’d recommend. Bring the ladies here if you’re trynna hit it off fs.

Google
It was fine! The food came out before we could even sit down, which is always questionable on freshness. We came for the pho, which was just average. The broth was very sweet.

Max Thompson

Google
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. The egg is the ramen was PHENOMENAL!!! It was as soft of a hard boiled egg as you can get and that made it amazing. Only thing this place needs to work on is some fruit fly defense.

Google
Whenever we’re near St. Louis, we always veer towards the Loop so we can enjoy the best Ramen in town! Appetizers are good, sides are good, and the main offerings of both Ramen 🍜 and Pho 🍲 are absolutely delicious!

Jeremy Smith

Google
We have eaten here several times over the last few years and it has always been on point. The Ramen is delicious. The broth is definitely not a generic mix, it's made overnight for the next day. The service is fast and friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is bright, open, and clean. They have several great beers and other beverages. Each time we have been, it has been pretty crowded. That didn't slow the service. Highly recommend for a great bowl of Ramen or any of their other dishes!

Google
My kids introduced me to the Nudo House, and I'm glad they did. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. My daughter and I ordered Pho and Spring Rolls. My son ordered Ramen. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The service was so fast that they met me at the table with my food. I was pleasantly surprised. I will be back again and again.

Google
Phenomenal and flavorful. Quick service as soon as you sit down! Recommend the Tamarind Fried Chicken. It is to die for. Pho and ramen are great, too, especially if you're feeling under the weather! Comfy and cozy atmosphere and I like how it's right next to the Delmar Hall. Perfect to grab a quick bite to eat before a concert!

Google
Great Ramen place. Definitely worth a try. Might want to ask about spice levels I didn’t and it was probably at my limit and I don’t eat really really hot food. I wish you could’ve been a little tamed down but wow what great flavor. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Heard about this place because it was near Washington University. Fast service, clean tables, great atmosphere. I found service to be decent, not mind-blowing but not ear-smoking. The ramen is delicious here, it's well proportioned and there is an equal amount of toppings. If you aren't a fan of salty food, I'd make an attempt to avoid this place because the soup is overly salty by the touch. I love this place nonetheless.

Yelp
Nudo House is definitely A-OK! The breakdown: Order first, pay then find a seat anywhere your heart desires. Food came out very fast. Self serve Fountain drinks Very laid-back environment/casual. Staff is very nice and the establishment is clean and spacious. Ordered: *Kids ramen with pork - broth is good but noodles are a little bit too firm for my kids. The pork is a little bit on the chewy side because it's a thicker cut. *O miso spicy Ramen - this one was spicy but it was very flavorful and delicious. Noodles are on the firmer side as well and the same issue with the pork which is a bit on the chewy side. *Pho banh mi dip - you can tell that the pho broth is very flavorful. Made me wish that I tried the pho during my visit here. Definitely can get messy. *Crab Rangoon- menu says that this is made fresh daily. Just the right amount of Cream cheese to crab ratio although I did taste a little bit more of the Cream cheese. Perfectly fried with a nice crunch when you bite into it. Definitely recommend this item to all of my crab rangoon fans! This spot is pretty decent, if you are looking for a spot to eat at and have no clue where to go. Tips: *Street parking *Credit card accepted *Indoor seating *Order first and then find a seat. *They do third-party app delivery food. *Restoom available for customers. *There's more than one location.

Yelp
For a spicy quick pick me up order any of the sandwiches or soups! Be sure to tip when you place your oder. Service is prompt and friendly! The atmosphere is laid back.

Yelp
I've been to this location a few times and my experience is always enjoyable. The restaurant is generally clean and the service is always pretty friendly. I love the beef pho and crab rangoon, I get it every time. I'm definitely looking forward to trying the ramen.

Yelp
I ordered the pho chicken soup again! Its always consistent and packaged perfectly when you order it to go. All of the ingredients are fresh and come together beautifully. Savory, spicy and citrus. This soup is amazing all year round!

Yelp
I've been to several ramen restaurants around the St. Louis area and this is definitely one of my favorites! Everything about the experience has been pleasing to me especially the flavor of the ramen dishes and the toppings that come along with it. Every time I walk in there the space is always really clean and orderly, and the workers are always professional.

Jane H.

Yelp
I've eaten here at least 10 times over the past 6-ish years (with at least a few to-go orders) and will say that I appreciate the pork-free ramen options offered (Hebrew Hammer, chicken and veggie kids ramen, etc.). The prices are reasonable and generally the food is pretty good. However, I would not recommend Nudo House (Delmar) as THE go-to ramen spot in STL for a couple of reasons: 1) Ambiance: when you first walk in, you are bombarded with rude signs about how there is not a public restroom, restrooms for customers only, etc. It's kind of jarring because I haven't seen many other businesses with signs like that and even as a paying customer, it made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the staff seems a bit inexperienced/undertrained when it comes to making menu recommendations and practicing some basic customer service skills. For first-timers, I recommend reviewing the menu online and reading reviews to decide what you want before you get there. 2) Cleanliness: there is a fruit fly/gnat problem in this restaurant. You will see at least 2-3 during the course of a meal. I know it's hard to keep them at bay in the STL climate, but come on, y'all! Consistently sticky tables and dirty floors will do that.

Yelp
My very favorite place to stop and grab some delicious warm noodles. Staff is always kind, the food is always delicious, and I can typically find a new drink on the menu. Located in the loop, perfect before a concert or activity. Typically a good amount of other people in there, which is a good sign. Plenty of seating & has a nice vibe inside.

Yelp
Delicious, fast, flavorful ramen and pho! Love that the vegan options do not lack flavor. Love the shroomed out and curry up as a vegetarian!
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Ordered Nudo House via UberEats. We had the classic Ramon, bahn mi pho dip, and tamarind fried chicken. Highly recommend the bahn mi pho dip! Super flavorful and the bread tasted fluffy and fresh, even being delivered. The ramen was ok but felt the noodles were a little undercooked. The tamarind chicken traveled surprisingly well and I liked the tempura style. Will definitely give the ramen another try when we can go in in person!
google avatar

Yelp
10/10. I don't get ramen often but this made me want to. When dining in, you order up front and then they bring you the food (which was insanely quick from the time we sat down to being served). Cute place to dine in. Tables are close to one another but not too close--feels like community and good vibes. Crab Rangoon was delicious (3 for $4 is an incredible price) and Classic Nude ramen was phenomenal. Definitely going back.

Yelp
Food is delicious and staff is friendly. We got carry out and the food tasted great and the portions were sized great. Check them out!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Quick service delicious ramen! You order at the counter and grab your sauces yourself and sit at a table. The food is brought out within a couple minutes and you get to enjoy the ambiance of local art in the walls and Nudo animation details on the napkin holders and other decor. Would recommend any of the ramen flavors (tried the pork, chicken, and mushroom). I ordered the original ramen, but really enjoyed tasting the mushroom ramen broth from my group. This is a new favorite when I visit St. Louis.
google avatar

Yelp
Nudo House on Delmar is a gem! The veggie egg rolls were perfectly crispy and delicious--great for starting the meal. I tried the Classic Nudo Ramen and the Shroomed Out Ramen; both were flavorful and comforting. The broth was rich, and the noodles were spot on. Definitely a spot I'll return to! It's a modern and welcoming, laid back vibe. You can sit anywhere as long as there is an open table. The workers will deliver the food to the table but you have to assist yourself in your beverage or grab your own condiments.
google avatar

Sunny P.

Yelp
I wouldn't say it's authentic Asian food but it is a good choice for people who are new to trying new cuisines. You order your food at the front and pay before eating. I was shocked at how fast the food came out though! It was like less than 5 minutes. With that being said, the noodles were on the harder side. They have very hard workers. They're cleaning after everyone immediately after they leave and are cleaning fhe tables and chairs too. I got the ramen and it was alright! It didn't hit the spot 100% but I think I would come again for the pho. It was pretty busy for a weekday dinner but still has plenty of seating!

Yelp
So let's just get it out there. I'm not a Ramen guy. But I was taking my adult daughter to lunch and this is where she wanted to go. So if I can get her to take time to eat with me I'll buy her whatever she wants. I give this place four stars based upon the fact that they're pretty good at what they do. I'm just not a fan of what they do. That's not their fault. I'm not into seaweed. I had the Hebrew hammer. Again, let's be honest. I chose it because it has a terribly cool name. And I recognized one of its ingredients. Chicken. The chicken was great. The broth was outstanding. That's pretty much all I could identify. Totally my fault! If you're into Ramen, I completely recommend this place. If you're into burgers.... Not so much. I'm not cool and trendy like my daughter. But I'm smart enough to know I should feed her whatever she wants if I can snag an hour with her. You can call me old school. You can call me midwestern small city hick. You can call me uneducated or a culinary fool. But you can't say I'm not a family man. Go to Nudo House. If you're surfing places for Ramen, this is where you should go.

Yelp
I had a good experience at nudo house. Easy to order, food came super fast. The restaurant felt clean and comfortable. I got the classic nudo, which I don't get ramen very often. It was amazing and I'd love to go back again.

Yelp
Had a total WTAF moment with the food I received. I got the Belly Banh-Mer and it was awful. The sandwich was inedible. The tempura batter was so thick I couldn't tell where the chicken was. Then there was the tamarind sauce, and pate, fine, but there was also a very reddish pink colored something that looked a lot like blood so I decided not to finish it. The cilantro was almost all stems and no leaves. It was both impossible to eat and just the worst sandwich I've had in years. Also the veggie spring rolls were barely cooked. I had to put them in the air fryer just to get them golden colored.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Cute & quick place for soup and apps. Service was very good! The appetizers were great. Unfortunately, both the pho and classic nudo were not our favorites. I am not an expert so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but the meat on both were pretty tough and flavorless, the noodles were okay but flavors were off. I wouldn't go again, but try if you're curious, maybe you will like more than I!
google avatar

Yelp
NUDO Never Disappoints!! and it's one of my favorite places to go pre-concert! I've tried a few ramens, the chicken pho, and some apps in the past (edamame, spring roll, and crab rangoon) and they were all delicious. My go-to ramen order is the Curry Up and I ask for white meat chicken... you won't be sorry about this order! Shroomed Out is also really tasty, vegetarian, and on the lighter side. If you're a fan of spicy, O'Miso Spicy will definitely clear your sinuses. The service is super quick and even when there is a line, the seating clears up pretty fast as well. Everything is clean and light so you can see why you're eating and the noise level still allows you to hear the conversation of the person/people you're with. They also have frozen bevs which are pretty delish, a good beer selection, and soft serve!
google avatar

Cleo G.

Yelp
Good casual, quick-service spot for ramen! You order inside at the counter and by the time you pick a spot to sit at your food is pretty much already at the table. They have a few rules like "we'll treat you how you treat us" and "no water/bathroom unless you purchase," which feels pretty reasonable. The vibe is definitely ont he more hipster, chill side. I tried the Hebrew Hammer, and it was great. My favorite part was the soft boiled egg, which was perfectly rich and runny, but the broth was super flavorful and well seasoned too. There were a solid amount of ramen noodles in the bowl, and although I wish there was more pork, the meat that there was was really delicious. My friend got the O'miso spicy ramen, and although it lived up to expectations in terms of spice, I'd say the flavor profile had less depth, and would still go with the Hebrew Hammer if I were to go again.
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
The food was good! We got the fried chicken banh mi and yolo mien. Very good breading on the chicken and a great light sauce on the noodles. It's an order first then sit down restaurant and service was very quick. It was a chill location with some cool artwork on the wall.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
My first visit to new house and did not disappoint. The spring rolls and sauce were delicious, and I had the classic noodle bowl. What a great experience in environment. The ambience is plain and quiet. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Darnell S.

Yelp
Food is super over hyped not a big fan of the dishes that we got cool experience non the less will say even tho they were super sweet the crab Rangoon's were the best part of the meal
google avatar

Money F.

Yelp
Great ramen! Best in St. Louis in my opinion! I love that the menu offers options but is also concise enough for the business to be able to specialize in each dish which makes the food taste great! We ordered the Hebrew Hammer and the Tantanmen. 5 stars!! The broth is fantastic. I've also tried the Miso Spicy. So delicious. The service is CRAZILY fast. By the time you order and choose a seat, the waiter is coming with your bowl! It's self serve drinks and other condiments. Very cozy spot for any day, nice playlist in the background and again, GREAT FOOD.
google avatar

Yelp
Passing through St. Louis on a road trip and my friend and I were craving ramen. Nudo House popped up on top number listings so we had to stop. The location is in a nice busy street with many shops, restaurants and venues nearby. Perfect for a eating spot before going out or even enjoying a city vibe. This location was POPPING with to go orders so it can only show how amazing this spot was. I ordered the Omiso Spicy and my friend ordered the Hebrew Hammer. Broth on both were AMAZING. Food came out really quick. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The only issue I had was with the pork chasu, it was a little tough unfortunately. I typically rate places off of broth and the chasu but the chasu unfortunately dropped the ball. Staff was super welcoming and nice with recommendations. Design of the location is really awesome! Anime style themes with funny decorations.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
Great noodles and good ramens, not a huge fan of the pho but it's not bad. Service is fast and you order at the counter, then they bring the food to your table. Always gets a little busy around lunch and dinner, great vibes.
google avatar

Kristen H.

Yelp
First night in St. Louis for our anniversary, and we wanted noodles. This place did not disappoint at all! I got the Broccoli and Beef Noods and Husband got the Pho Deluxe and we shared a combo plate of spring rolls. Noodles were HOT and delicious, and we got our food like 2 minutes after being seated. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Well, found a bug in my container when I received it not sure if this was Nudo fault or my uber driver who delivered it, but regardless, that's unacceptable. Was looking forward to a night in enjoying Nudo, but I will not be going back.
google avatar

Cho-Hee S.

Yelp
The ramen was incredible!! It was spicy ramen and i wish I could go back in time and eat it over and over again. A full five stars. The papaya salad was so unflavored I ended up not eating it. The kimchi was good though! It was a little sweet and gingery and I'm not sure it had any garlic? But I still ate it anyways! There aren't any servers - you order at the front kiosk and they bring to your table. They also give you take away stuff to package it up for home.
google avatar

Alyssa L.

Yelp
Upon first entrance my husband noticed a sign that said something to the effect of... "you get treated how you treat us" vibe. Weird lol but i decided to test that out. I was super nice while ordering but the guy at the register absolutely did not look like he wanted to be there. I asked a question and he just looked blankly and shook his head no rather than actually verbally saying no. No smile. No enthusiasm. Maybe a bad day? But either way it felt very cold. Other employees just stared at us while we walked to get drink and to our table. I didn't understand that. With that being said, i won't dock too much from my overall experience. I did want this to be pointed out though so management could hopefully talk to the employees to give constructive criticism. The pho and ramen were both good. I was pleasantly surprised they served tripe as a lot of hipster feeling places don't tend to have it. Both soups were good but it was pricy for the small amount we get. $19 for a bowl of pho which i ate in maybe 5 minutes lol. My husband said his meat in the ramen was too fatty to where he didn't want to eat it. That could be his own preference though. Some people enjoy a fatty meat. The spring roll was a joke lol it had a bad quality rice paper with a thin piece of meat and only lettuce. Peanut sauce tasted nothing like peanuts. It was actually kind of sour which was strange. That is not a proper spring roll presentation. They have a tower of different sauces in small plastic cups which i didn't personally like. It's easier to just pour out of the bottle itself. But no biggie. If i could give 3.5 i would but i am leaning more towards the 3 for above reasons.

Yelp
Awesome spot for quick bite! We came in on a Friday night and service was friendly and efficient. Our time from ordering to eating was less than 8 minutes. Interior seating has spaces for larger (6-8) groups too and though the space was generally full, my boyfriend and I could still easily have a conversation without drowning in background noise. My bf got the curry ramen with fried pork (great flavor and definitely recommend) and I had a kids beef ramen, the kale noodle appetizer, and kim chi. All dishes were flavorful and customer service was excellent! The beef ramen broth was a little sweet rather than savory (not in a bad way just a heads up in case you prefer savory; I put the kale noodle appetizer in with the ramen and actually loved the combination).

Hannah K.

Yelp
We loved this place! Really tasty bowl of ramen, served piping hot and astonishingly fast. Frozen watermelon margarita also delicious, strong, surprisingly large. Vibe is extremely chill, relaxed, chatty, casual. Would come here again for sure.
google avatar

Zheng X.

Yelp
Great broth. Average noodle. Reasonable price. Totally self-service. A won't-wrong choice if you want to have a quick and random meal.
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
My daughter wanted Pho so she recommended coming here. Walked in and it was very easy to order. There's ample seating inside. Very open area with high ceilings. The chicken pho was very tasty and a little sweeter than other pho I've had from other Vietnamese restaurants. I really liked the chicken Banh mi sandwich on French bread. Prices were ok. Service was good.
google avatar

Maggie D.

Yelp
The Nudo House offers plenty of options - the dessert sandos special looked very enticing (pumpkin pie in sandwich form, yes please)! We had the Beef Pho and Ultimate Beef Pho bowls, each includes basil, cilantro, lime, Jalapeño slices, and sprouts. The sauces and options to further customize your selection were great. However, I didn't add anything else and it was easily the most delicious Pho I've had! Service was quick, barely at the table 1-2 minutes and our food had arrived. Overall the sunlight coming in the windows and the art on the walls created a great ambiance to the Delmar Loop. We will be back.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Long line, and worth every second. The mushroom noodle bowl was out of this world. Good as takeout, too!

Mmb M.

Yelp
Ordered lunch here to go 3/19/25. Overall great experience. Easily ordered the Bahn Mi dip and kid's beef pho. Portion size for both was excellent. First time trying this location and I will be back to try other menu items. Restaurant is clean, decorated nicely and has condiments and napkins available.
google avatar

Minh L.

Yelp
I enjoyed this restaurant. It has a nice hip and nerdy vibe. My wife did not because she is not very cultured on anime and other cultures other than food. We ordered some sandwiches and ramen. Overall a pretty good meal. The food was good, but not great. The vibes overall was fantastic!
google avatar

Roger L.

Yelp
Blew me away, best counter service ramen I've had in a long time! Had a bad experience at their sister restaurant earlier today so my girlfriend and I have Nudo a shot and very glad we did! Vibes are awesome, service fast / chill, noodles epically Al dente, broth super rich and incredible for a vegetarian broth (got the shroom)

Chassity C.

Yelp
They aren't lying when they say the best crab rangoons in the city!! A perfect balance of crab to cream cheese, filled just to the right ratio, and a savory yet sweet taste. I had the hebrew hammer which was a clear, but dark and flavorful broth, with tender dark meat chicken, bamboo, bok choy, green onion, noodles and egg. Spouse had the classic which was pork and a creamy tonkotsu broth. Price is pretty standard for homemade ramen. We'll certainly return!
google avatar

Lucy S.

Yelp
I stopped by Nudo on a Tuesday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday party. You order at the front and then seat yourself, so it was more casual than I was expecting. I'm not a huge noodle/ramen person, but I LOVE banh mi's, so I ended up getting two banh mi's. My friends all got various noodle bowls and sides, which all looked very flavorful and delicious. I especially enjoyed both of my banh mi's-- they might not be the most traditional, but they're very reasonably priced and super tasty as well! I realized after we had finished eating that I hadn't checked out the sauces they had at the counter, and wished that I had gotten some (although it wasn't necessary, the food had plenty of seasoning). All in all, we thought the prices were pretty reasonable and service was very fast. Will probably be back to maybe try a noodle bowl next time!
google avatar

Mary Z.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Nudo House for a long time and I'm glad that I did! My friend and I can never agree on getting Pho vs Ramen, so this restaurant was perfect for our Sunday evening dinner choice since they serve both. I got the Pho Beef and it was very flavorful and tasty. The plate of aromatic herbs and add-ons served with it had exactly what you'd expect to jazz up your bowl of pho to your personal taste. My only complaint was that there were too many noodles and not enough broth in my bowl. This may be a personal preference as my friend who got ramen liked the noodle to broth ratio. They also had a self-serve sauce station with multiple options to try (like 5+ options). I thought the prices felt reasonable and comparable to similar sit down restaurants, and the service was surprisingly fast! We had barely just gotten our drinks and was about to sit down when the server already was bringing out our bowls. Overall, it's a great spot in the Loop if you want to grab a quick, warm bowl of pho or ramen, and I will definitely go back again!
google avatar

Sam P.

Yelp
If you were looking for the authentic Vietnamese pho experience, this is not the place. But those pho here is very good nonetheless! Definitely Americanized. The bahn mi i got was pretty good the meat was a little dry and chewy which isn't normal with quality bahn mi's. The staff was awesome and very attentive. And it is a very cool place to check out on the loop. There is a good amount of seating but I could see it getting crowded on a busy night.
google avatar

Kylie F.

Yelp
Honestly overrated. I got the Classic Nudo Ramen and my boyfriend got the Spicy Miso. They were okay, but nothing crazy. The pork belly in our bowls was dry and kinda tough. The broth on both was good, but, again, nothing special. More on the bland side. The atmosphere was super cool and the only reason I'm giving it a 3 and not a 2.5.
google avatar

Whitney H.

Yelp
This place was super delicious! If you want some good pho, definitely a place to go! You order at the front and then they will bring you your food. The service was good. It's in the loop so parking can be challenging at times, but we were able to find a spot pretty quickly everyone there seemed very friendly! It is a very casual place to go and get some quality food! It is also very clean and open in the dining room!
google avatar

Heidi P.

Yelp
Loved the service and food!! Super friendly, got the crab Rangoon, summer rolls and Miso Spicy Ramen. No pics, but delish!
google avatar

August R.

Yelp
The food was Bussin. The drinks were Bussin as soon as we took our order our meal was immediately there and the atmosphere kind.

Yelp
Update, still yummy. So reliable. Fast service. Great eats. The key is to go earlier in the day for less crowd! And substitute the peanut sauce for fish sauce!
