"This is the type of place the prompts you to wonder: "How do they survive?" My money is on the ratatouille crêpes: a little bit of Provence wrapped up in an Algerian blanket. Numidie specialises in Algerian-French cuisine, veering towards the spicy notes of north Africa, and handling them with charm and flair. Chicken livers come seared, rich and sweet, and the tagines come sizzling, as they should. Simple cooking, not extraordinary, but it's crowd-pleasing stuff. And it gets very lively in the bar when live music kicks off post-merguez sausages." - Josh Barrie

Had a catchup with an old friend and it was definitely a good choice to eat here! The food is amazing, the staff were extremely friendly with great hospitality, and the atmosphere was calming. There is a cute, tucked away bar downstairs which is open on Saturdays. I definitely recommend this place!

Just came from a late dinner and I’m so happy i stumbled across this lovely restaurant! I had such an attentive server and the food came so quickly. I enjoyed my calamari, the duck confit tagine was to die for, and the chocolate tart was a perfect, not too sweet end to the meal. I’m absolutely stuffed right now, and going to sleep very easily 🤣💗

Great food and service. The hummus was really delicious. My friend is vegetarian so we only tried vegetarian items and they were all prefect. The atmosphere was great. There was only one staff so service was a little slow but worth the wait. And she was very friendly too.

Very delicious meal with generous portion. Great service. The only downside is the food can take a little long so don’t come too hungry. Bring some friends for some catch-up and to enjoy a delightful meal together.

Yelp
So I've been here before to use the downstairs bar but never eaten here so what better time than New Year's Eve to try it!! Managed to get a late table which for this time of year was a huge positive, when we arrived the restaurant was packed, no surprise there, so they suggested we get a drink at the bar. Normally this would probably have been ok but not on NYE. If you have never been to the downstairs bar it is worth a visit, however it can get packed and as it is small getting to the bar becomes a bit of a problem, so we decided to wait upstairs where there was slightly more standing room!! We did not have to wait too long for our table and once it was wiped we were seated. Being NYE they had a set menu which had a decent selection. I was slightly disappointed as they did not have my choice of starter :( So I had to change that option but not the end of the world. For a packed restaurant surprisingly they only had two waiters, so this did slow down the service, but they did a good job considering. The food was good and the atmosphere was very good the noise from the live band downstairs was on occasion a little intrusive but I could live with it. Some people did a countdown to the new year but the restaurant staff did not as they were to busy. An enjoyable NYE meal in a restaurant I will visit again.

Yelp
Great little restaurant that is an oasis of loveliness in Crystal Palace. Numidie is a small restaurant with a basement wine/cocktail bar (more on that later!) I've been here a couple of times with my girlfriend and it has been fantastic on each occasion. On the first visit we went for the 3 course set meal and every course was amazing, especially the lobster main (their weekly special at the time). Everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff have always been very polite and attentive. The place itself is quite small (but not cramped) and it has a very nice rustic charm to it, quite dark inside but that just adds to the nice romantic atmosphere. Downstairs from the restaurant is a small wine bar that also has a very good cocktail list (most of which are potent and very tasty!) It's a perfect place to have a nice relaxing drink after your meal. Everything was reasonably priced (especially their set menus). Definitely a place I will be going to again and again.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times, once for dinner and once to have a drink in the bar. The restaurant is on the ground level. Cosy little arrangement with friendly staff. The dining area is not big so feels intimate. I get the sense that they have dedicated fans returning to eat here. Unfortunately, I cannot write about the food as went here many years ago before Yelp was here to log such information! The bar is located downstairs without the need to walk through the restaurant area. Again cosy there and sometimes there are bands playing live music. The bar staff are friendly and make a good cocktail 2 for 1 on cocktails between 6 and 8:30! When there isn't a band playing, it is a cosy place to sit and chat without the loud background music. Also, because it is away from the restaurant, you do not feel any pressure that you should order something to eat. Would come here again for both something to eat and to use the bar for a catch up and chat.

Yelp
I was disappointed with the restaurant: food was a little cold and my cous cous tasted of washing-up liquid. My other half wants to go back but I'd rather just head to the cellar to drink mojitos. I'd give the bar 5 stars as it's fab. I love it cosy dark, late night feel. Oh and I can have a sneaky ciggie out the back which helps, what with me being a filthy smoker and all. Live Jazz is on a Sunday night. Never been (don't like jazz!) but it is the type of music that fits well with the atmosphere of this bar. Part of me wants to say the bar is rubbish so that no-one goes and I can still get a seat, but that would be naughty of me. Give it a try.

Yelp
Had many a nice meal at Numide. The food is authentic Moroccan and love the way the delicious tagines are served to the table - very celebratory! My favourite is the lamb with cous cous - excellent! Also, downstairs at Numide is a rocking little music venue - with either live music or old skool disco tunes. A great way to dance off that tagine!

Yelp
i just wanted to update my review to say i visited the underground bar here again on friday night and it is really is an utter gem. the cocktails are good, and strong, the bar staff are friendly and like to chat, and they have live music which just creates an incredible atmosphere in such a small space. the upstairs restaurant may not do it for me, but the downstairs bar definitely does!

Yelp
I order couscous merguez with vegetables. They served me 5 merguez swimming in a bowl of dark oil, then came a small plate of dry couscous. I ask where are the vegetables. they quickly brought an other bowl with 5 small pieces of courgettes and potatoes marinate in brown oil sauce. I order the warm almond tart, it was good. While eating it the waitress took my plate away I had to stop her. Her attitude was poor. So sad to see a good restaurant going down hill. It used to be my favourite.

Yelp
Great food. Really nice dishes. You can ask for more spice! Quality meats are always used in all the meat dishes. It is a pretty good place. Cosy, and well decorated. There is a bar with live music downstairs, very small, but nice when not packed.

Yelp
Fabulous little place - a hidden gem. I'd recommend the intimate downstairs bar above the restaurant, which serves excellent plonk and free snacks if you're lucky (they used to do a great line in Space Raider crisps). Friendly landlord and crowd, a very bohemian atmosphere.

Yelp
Great marocan place in the triangle. Probably the best one I tried so far. Excellent lamb couscous and fish soup for me tonight. And to wrap it up, a super good creme brûlée au cognac. Add the local Casablanca beer and some wine and great staff and you get a place yo want to go back to.

Yelp
Went to Numidie last night having been meaning to go to this little Algerian bistro for ages... I went expecting a really cute and cosy hidden gem on Westow Hill. It is a very sweet little place, not many tables and 'rustic' decor (not been decorated in a while but has a certain charm about it)...Unfortunately I was sitting looking out through the front window and spent most of the evening blinded by the bright lights on the Woolworths shop sign on the opposite side of the road. I would really recommend that they invest in some blinds... The menu was appealing...I don't eat meat and I'm not into very rich dishes so French cuisine is always tricky but the African influence on the food meant I had quite a few dishes to choose from. I went for the calamari stuffed with crabmeat to start and the sea scallops and saffron pasta for main. Perfect size portions for me, although my boyfriend was slightly annoyed that he wasn't offered any sides and forgot to order them...left him some room for pudding! He went for the quail tagine to start and the duck for main. I imagined the food would be more flavoursome than it was. It was tasty but there was definitely something lacking. The seafood tasted extremely fresh, I just think the pasta needed a bit more too it. The house red was smooth and went well with both our dishes. For dessert my boyfriend had the chocolate tart which looked and tasted delicious while I just went for some fresh mint tea. The service was slightly slow and we did have to ask to order a couple of times and had our plates left on the table for quite a while after the main course. However, all the staff were extremely friendly. It just would have been nice to have felt a little more looked after. The downstairs bar is fabulous...there aren't many places like this around. It was very busy at 11ish when we went down, with people from all different age ranges. It has a very unique atmosphere with the dark red walls, low ceilings, jazzy French music and tiny bar area. I felt a million miles away from home down there... All in all, I would recommend this place for a chilled Saturday evening out. I hear they have jazz on a Sunday so that may be worth a shot. If the restaurant was a bit more like the bar area then this would be a very special place but as it stands I give it 3 stars.

Yelp
Had some great nights here, the food is superb and the downstairs bar (sometimes with live music) is cosy and has great atmosphere. It's one of the most popular restaurants on the triangle so be aware that it can be very busy.

Yelp
This is down as African but it's French in my mind. In my oppinion it's the best resturant in town. The bar downstairs is magic and it's all run by serge and ash who are pros. I always go here fir special events as it's a special place.

Yelp
This is a fantastic local bistro, with a really welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Numidie serves excellent mediterranean style cooking with a good wine selection, and the menu changes quite regularly so you can visit frequently without getting bored of the food. It is quite small, so it is important to book at the weekend, and it is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I only had one dish here, so that's all I can review. But first, the restaurant is nicely decorated, and the waitress was decently attentive and pleasant. Hence two stars. But the dish that I did have was awful. I don't recall the name, but it was the aubergine and gruyere starter. It came in a little dish, and looked and smelled nice enough, until I put a fork in it and it turned out to be about 30% oil. Not wanting to be rude, I blotted off as much as I could with the bread, then ate about 3/4 of it in very small bites, blotting each bite as I went. I could tell there was some good spicing in there, but I was just queasy from all the oil I was eating, and had to stop. I went to a nearby place with the intention of having some bread and maybe a salad to make myself feel better, but (and stop here if you're squeamish) I went to the bathroom before ordering and ended up throwing up into the bowl - I hadn't been feeling otherwise ill. Even better, after cleaning up the area and flushing, I could actually see oil droplets left floating on the otherwise clean toilet water. I'm not in the mood for dinner tonight anymore.
