The 17 Best Restaurants In Madrid 2024

"Nunuka makes the strong case that Madrid needs more Georgian restaurants. Just devour their adjaruli khachapuri, packed with flawless melted cheese that you can sop up with the crisped bread surrounding it if you need convincing. Dishes at this inviting spot in Chueca look like jewels—the delicately rolled beet carpaccio’s ruby red color against a white radish sauce is so stunning you almost don’t want to eat it. But do so, because the crunchy, sweet, and spicy flavors are explosive. And the leek meatballs drenched in a creamy kefir, citrus, and nut-infused sauce, are a must, especially when paired with one of the Georgian wines from their short list. The space is as jewel-toned as the food, with bold sofas, turquoise napkins, and cute patterned pillows. It's exactly where you should be for a date night or casual catch-ups with friends." - lori zaino

Nunuka

"If you’re not familiar with Georgian cuisine, this attractive family-style restaurant in the Chueca district of the city is a great place to discover the country’s most iconic dishes and for your first contact with its delicious flavours. Don’t miss the typical Khachapuri bread, filled with cheese, or the traditional Khinkali." - Michelin Inspector

My first time eating at a restaurant in Georgia, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely amazing — full of flavor and beautifully presented. The waiters were incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even better. They gave great recommendations, and every dish that came out looked just as good as it tasted. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a relaxing meal. I also tried a glass of wine that paired perfectly with the food — smooth and delicious. Overall, I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Georgian food is not my thing - however the staff was helpful, the restaurant was cute and I did enjoy some bites. The saving grace for me was the red pepper sauce they gave us with the bread. It wasn’t too spicy and the flavor was wonderful. We added it to the adjaruli and it was just delicious. I’d also get the cornbread - not as corny as I thought but the spreads were delicious. I’m not a fan of the walnut paste - and white sauce was also too gritty. I’m glad I tried it, I’d recommend to anyone who was interested in Georgian.

We had an absolutely fabulous meal at Nunuka. It was our first experience of Georgian cuisine and we were blown away. We started with the tomato salad and the dumplings stuffed with beef. We then shared beef kebab in lettuce wraps and the small roasted chicken with smoky cheesy mashed potatoes. Heaven! We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Georgian wine. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere is charming and cozy. We will be back!

I always enjoy my visits to Nunuka. Every dish I’ve tried has been delicious. The khinkali are outstanding — with a delicately thin dough and a flavorful, juicy filling. My other favorites include the beetroot salad and the stuffed eggplants, both of which are excellent.

Food was excellent so if that’s all that matters, go for it. Service and timing of food was atrocious. We were the first group (2) for lunch and 15-30 min after us a couple larger more business seeming groups arrived. We had a reservation so it seems the restaurant thought they had capacity🤷‍♀️. We got one dish eventually. A half hour later we got a second dish. The larger groups got multiple courses before we got our second (while we arrived 15-30 min before). Perhaps they don’t value smaller groups, it seemed the twosome of Spanish women that came in were also somewhat dismissed. Also out of stock of the already small wine selection 🤪 The food is awesome but when your server can’t even bring water for 30 min or a box after two hours I have to imagine there are better spots. Later that week we went to La Nienta up the road for half the price and had such a nicer experience. Perhaps not haute cuisine but such better service it was shocking. Excellent restaurants have to have excellent service every time and for every customer which this restaurant lacks. Maybe if I was a NYT critic… There are too many restaurants in Madrid for this mediocre service and inability to time your kitchen. It’s telling that there is junk scattered all over the tables until about 13:25, when they “start” lunch at 13:30. Get it together or you won’t make it:/ Sadly would not return though the food was tasty. There are other places with good food 🤷‍♀️

I absolutely loved the food and the service! Everything was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the khinkali, the Georgian salad, and a glass of Saperavi wine—an amazing combination. Will definitely be coming back anytime i am in Madrid!

Georgian soul in a tight bistrot in downtown. Place is nice and service good. Wine list short, with Georgian wines only. Owners has recently open a second and more refined restaurant nearby called Persimmon’s
