The 14 Best Asian Restaurants Where Bellevue Meets Redmond | Eater Seattle

"This Bellevue home of hand-pulled Lanzhou noodles with beef has a great formula: There are eight types of noodles, from angel hair to diamond-shaped to extra wide, served in a single broth, available as is (“original”) or with pickled cabbage. Diners can also add chile oil to spice up the comforting soup, showcasing rounds of daikon and shavings of meat. The beef patty, super-crispy, is a popular starter." - Jay Friedman

Simple, comforting, and packed with flavor! The hand-pulled noodles were chewy and satisfying, perfectly coated in a rich tomato and scrambled egg sauce—classic homestyle taste that hits the spot. The cold cucumber and beef slices on the side added a nice contrast—crisp, refreshing, and savory. Nothing fancy, just a hearty, nostalgic bowl that reminds you of home cooking done right.

Google
The tomato egg noodle dish was delicious! The tomato and egg sauce was savory and a little sweet, in a good way. The wide noodle had a pleasantly chewy texture. We devoured it! 5/5 The bbq lamb skewers were bone dry and tough. There was a dry layer of seasoning on top that did not add any pleasantness. 0/5 The cold shredded potato had lovely peppercorn, garlic, and vinegar flavor. Satisfying. 5/5 Excellent music playlist, no wait on Sunday afternoon, prompt, friendly service, and good prices 🎵💯

Google
Clean and spacious store front QR code order or ask for menu There are different sizes of noodles to choose from. My fave is small (next to normal). The beef noodle is Al Dante and broth is clear, not too salty and yummy. However, the aftertaste of MSG is very noticeable. Too bad…. I would return for the yummy noodle but will not sip too much soap and drink lots of water cause of msg. Note: Their bathrooms cleaningness is their weakest link.

Google
We ordered the beef flank noodle soup $15.99, stewed beef bone noodle soup $16.99 and 5 lamb skewers $4.95. The meat and soup were very flavorful, the daikons were tender, good portion .The lamb skewers were very tasty and in good size. A little bit salty, still 5 stars and will come back for more.

Google
Love their noodles and their appetizers. I love that they are open until midnight on weekdays and 2am on weekends. This place is definitely one of my favorite late-night food options. Price isn’t too bad either.

Google
We love nuodle, it’s become a regular place for my boyfriend and I. We go at least once a week🫣! We always get the original beef nuodle soup and it always hits with the vinegar and chili oil they have. It’s an huge portion for the price. Our waitress May(Mae) is the best ever! She always treats us so well and we love to see her whenever we go in, she’s a ray of sunshine!

Google
Such a legit Chinese noodle spot! You’ve got to try the lamb or beef skewers — insanely good, easily a five-star flavor!👍

Google
I LOVE this place. The flavors are always so good and noodles are plentiful!! I like that you can customize the noodle style you want for every dish. I’ve gotten the combo and left absolutely stuffed. I’ve tried their beef and fried chicken side dishes as well as their skewers. The only thing I would skip is the fried chicken. The soy milk is pretty dang good too. You place your order online by scanning a QR code. I usually pay by walking to the front counter on my way out the door.

Yelp
Nuodle serves delicious and comforting bowls of Lanzhou noodle soup. Perfect for cold weather or a sick day. The beef broth here is really good. It has a simple and comforting taste. The noodles have a nice chewy texture and they have a lot of options for how wide/thin you would like your noodles. The beef slices are fine imo but the main enjoyment is in the soup and noodles. They have chili oil at the tables so that you can add a suitable amount yourself. It pairs deliciously with the broth. You order via QR code and the service is quick and efficient.

Yelp
Great late night place in Bellevue! They close at 2am which is hard to find in the area. Their noodles are pretty good! Nothing outstanding but decent. Their stinky tofu isn't authentic or even super stinky, so I wouldn't recommend. I got their pork stir fry and it was yummy. Decent amount of meat. They're generally known for their soup noodles. Lots of seating and service is fast and attentive.

Yelp
We came, we saw, we noodled. Three beef noodle soups entered our table: the OG beef, the bougie beef rib, and the underdog beef flank. Each got a different noodle type -- thin, regular, and thick -- because variety is the spice of life, and also we're terrible at making decisions. The broth? Oh, the broth. It was like a warm hug from a spicy grandma -- comforting, but with a slap of chili oil that said, "Wake up, your taste buds aren't done yet." It was rich, flavorful, and the kind of soup that makes you question why you've ever eaten anything else. We also ordered the pork hock with garlic sauce (highly recommend if you like your pork tender and your breath spicy) and the spicy cucumbers, which were basically a cool cucumber with a hot temper. The vibe? Clean, simple, and no-frills -- just like your friend's apartment who definitely doesn't own throw pillows. The service was fine, though we did spend a good amount of time making awkward eye contact with our empty water glasses. Hydration: room for improvement. But would we come back? Absolutely. This place served us soup that soothed the soul and carbs that hugged our intestines like an old friend. Bring an appetite. Maybe bring your own water. But definitely bring a love for beef, broth, and a good noodle chew.

Yelp
Overall, we feel the quality of the food just isn't as good as when we first used to come. The soup is still good but the flavors just don't hit like they used. The pickled greens used to be my favorite here but they changed it up slightly last time we were here and it didn't have that balanced umami that I was craving. The service here is standard. Don't expect traditional American service. Once you're seated if you need something, just simply wave an employee over and they will help. You can pay at the table through the QR code or pay at the counter when done.

Yelp
I haven't been back here since 2022 when quality of this place dropped compared to what it was back in 2019. Fast forward to 2024, and I'm happy to say I love it again! I came here more as an afterthought during a Monday holiday noon after failing to get a reservation at a very popular restaurant not too far from here; the restaurant was empty when my party of 4 came in but became a full house within half an hour, so get here early if you want their food. Inside has a lot of tables and big windows, and you can see the kitchen near the cashier. You order by scanning a QR code and putting down what you want. I used my phone to place the orders, though I'm not sure if multiple phones for the same table placing orders is allowed. I got the beef flank noodle soup with angel hair pasta, along with non-spicy BBQ lamb skewers. The noodle soup was VERY salty and carried tons of flavor, and I didn't mind this; the lamb was tender, the angel hair pasta soaked in the taste of the soup, and the portion was pretty big and more than justified its price of about ~$16 per bowl compared to some other places. Other dishes we got included the marinated pork stir noodle with angel hair pasta (surprisingly tasty), and another beef flank noodle soup as me albeit with normal pasta (which wasn't the best combo according to my friend). The prices overall were all right for this place, and I got very full from eating here. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
service has gotten better since I went there for the first time 4 years ago when i started highschool. Food is still amazing as always, would be a 5 star if it weren't for the service. But it's hella chill and i love the napa cabbage beef noodle soup--probably one of my favorite dishes ever and they've perfected it.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the only hand pulled noodle places in the area. Noodles themselves are pretty good, cooked al dente. You can choose one of the 6 types of cuts for noodle. soup is alright. The other dishes like the meat skewers or the meat hamburger are both very average and slightly on the saltier side. Overall, I would say it's just okay, not really the best but for the price, it's edible. It does have huge parking lot, next to Asian family market and multiple other restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
Consistent hot beef noodles soup hand-pulled, which is super authentic and delicious! This is Chinese comfort fast food at its finest. You can get a plate of (lamb or beef) skewers for the extra protein if you're craving a heavy cumin-pepper-fennel-spice flavor. You order by scanning a QR code on the table and the staff are verrrrry fast and polite. The vibe is always casual and chill because the booths are perfect for groups, or it can be spacious if you're there on a date with one other person. Haven't had a bad item on the menu yet. Their sliced potato is crunchy and spicy! Their celery is sour and spicy! Their seaweed is savory and spicy! Their cucumber salad is refreshing and spicy! Always love coming here at 10PM because I just crave a big hot soup noodle that I just can't get anywhere else!

Yelp
- Skip the chicken skewer! - We've been here a few times, and it's a self-serve place meaning you can place an order online and pay online as well even if you dine in. The noodles here are decent, and the soup is flavorful. The best type of noodle is thick or wide, as the widest one is too wide and you'd feel like you are eating a piece of paper (lol). We usually order lamb skewer, but we tried the chicken today. Oh god, it's super dry... I regret EVERYTHING at this point. If you want to get a skewer, do the beef/lamb instead!

Tolganay S.

Yelp
I like the place and recommend . Everything was very tasty. And the staff is very kind.

Yelp
You order with a QR code once you sit down. Not traditional service here, the servers don't check in with you unless you flag them down. Large portions, but the broth was pretty bland and the meat was questionable quality.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Not too crowded and we were seated immediately for a party of 2. Menu is accessed via QR code. From where we sat we could see the kitchen hand stretching the noodles which was pretty cool. Ordered the lamb skewers, original beef flank noodle soup, and pork dry stir noodles. All tasted great. Lamb skewers were flavorful and just spicy enough (ordered medium spice level). Beef flank soup had a very mild flavor with hearty slices of beef and huge amounts of noodles. Pork stir noodles were the star of the show- savory with good portion of veggies and meat. There are different types of noodles you can order- thick, normal, thin, diamond cut etc. Overall a delicious meal. Will be back!

Yelp
The menu looked good and I love hand pulled noodles but unfortunately the taste and quality just were not there. My soup was kinda bland. Service was decent, too. I would say the 3.5ish average on Yelp is accurate for the food.

Yelp
Across 4 people, we got two orders of the "Valuable Meal for 2", and might I just say: it is VALUABLE. The portions per person were enough for multiple meals of leftovers each, and everything tasted delicious. The pork stir fry noodle specifically was a standout. It was also very reasonably priced for the amount of food. But be warned -- come hungry! The web app used for ordering is a little confusing and not super user friendly - in particular I got kicked out of my in progress order a few times for no reason I could tell, and there was no option to split any of the payment per table when paying (this is something that should be piece of cake through a web app IMO).
google avatar

Lanya L.

Yelp
We ordered the original beef noodle soup, and the tomato and egg noodles. Both were delicious! We went at lunch time on a Thursday so it wasn't too busy. The lamb skewers were also very good, would order again.

Yelp
For a quick meal at a late time this place was perfect. Portion size was bigger than I expected. Got the beef noodle soup, tin tin noodles, and the tofu cakes.

Yelp
This place was SO tasty that I ordered take out TWICE while staying at a local hotel during a business trip. The braised pork and rice was amazing. The pork was tender and the juice it was in was so yum, along with the bok choy for extra crunch. The rice had great texture.

Yelp
3.5 stars - This place has been on my radar after a lot of friends individually have made a visit here and also featured in one of the Asian content creators channels. I went here on a Sunday lunch and it was not too busy - you order through the QR code and food came out fairly quickly. There is little to no service at the only waiter/waitress interaction is them delivering the water and food to you. Even for paying the check, you just do it online. I got the original beef noodle soup (thick noodles) and BBQ sausage mild spicy. The noodle soup is good but average at best - I have had better of these hand pulled noodle soups elsewhere, particularly in the San Gabriel Valley of LA. For some reason, I was expecting somewhat of that quality given the hype that I have been hearing. The soup is fairly mild in flavor and the beef is not that good of quality as it was fairly tough. The noodle texture is fine, and it is nice that it is hand pulled to the thickness you prefer. The BBQ sausage is like the Chinese skewers with the spices, but not really numbing spice. It is certainly very flavorful and definitely dominates the flavor compared to the milder noodle soup. Overall, my experience has been a bit underwhelming, but that is not to say the place is not good. I just had better expectations.

Yelp
Nuodle is a hand pulled noodle spot with one location in the city and another out here on the east side. This place is open late (up to midnight even on weekdays!) and serves up delicious food with solid portions at the decently low price of 15 bucks a bowl. They have a kiosk for people interested in grabbing food to go as I have seen a line out the door during peak dinner hours and service is pretty hands off with ordering done via QR codes. Chef Special Cucumbers (4.5/5): Surprisingly delicious and surprisingly kinda spicy. Super crunchy and great way to pretend like you're still eating vegetables so your meal is still healthy. Beef Flank Noodle Soup (3/5): I really enjoyed the soup, it was light and the beef flank was decently tender. Unfortunately, the wide noodles were a total miss - instead of a chewy texture, they just broke when you bit into them. Pretty unfortunate as typically wide noodles are my favorite. Marinated Pork Stir Noodle (4/5): The pork looked like it would be stringy and dry, but it was surprisingly quite tender. Overall, the dish was slightly too salty for me, but I got this with the thin noodles and those were definitely the highlight. Nice bouncy texture and will be back for them :)

Yelp
We came to Nuodle on a whim on a Sunday night! Pleasantly surprised to see there was a good amount of people inside but we got seated immediately. Ordered 3 things: Rice bowl with mushroom and chicken quarter 2.5/5 Beef noodle soup 5/5 Century egg and tofu 5/5 The rice bowl was mediocre in my opinion. Chicken tasted a little dry and needed more flavor overall. The beef noodle soup was AMAZING! Noodles were bouncy and NOT overcooked and soup tasted great. The century egg dish is great too. They add some chili crisp on top that tastes like LaoGanMa but better. This place has bad reviews bc of service but you literally order from a QR code and they bring food out to you. It makes things super fast and efficient. Not surprised I didn't like the rice dish bc this place is known for soup noodles, not rice!! When I needed an extra bowl though, I had no problem flagging them down. You pay at the front and they even have White Rabbit candy to take. The prices are good and this will for sure be our new go to spot!!
google avatar

Wesley W.

Yelp
Yummy noodles open late. Broth is good and the noodles have that nice fresh chewy texture.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the second time I've been here. If you are looking for some home made noodles, this is the place to come. The flank beef noodle soup was so delicious. You can taste everything from the beef, spring onions, cilantro and the noodles. What I like about their noodles is they have a bit of an "al dante" texture to it, which I enjoy very much. The customer service was quick and very friendly and the restaurant was very clean (at least from what I saw). :) Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for something warm, soothing and delicious... especially in the cold season. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for brunch today and was so disappointed with it. I have been wanting to try Nuodle after seeing crowds there, not my choice maybe. We ordered Beef Noodle soup, Scallion Noodles and Lamb skewers. Scallion noodles were so dry and chewy, wish it was a bit flavorful with more oil. Lamb was so chewy and felt a bit undercooked.
google avatar

Julia Z.

Yelp
The food is delicious! I've been twice, got the beef original soup and the pickled vegetable one, both are excellent and an excellent price given the amount of noodles (both times, I was able to take home a second or half meal). It's located in the Asian Family Mart plaza, so plenty of parking if you're willing to walk a little. They're also one of very few places open quite late, so when a group of us came in at 9:30, they were able to seat us and have us order food. They have several bathrooms in the back (I think three?), separate rooms rather than stalls. This last time I also tasted the beef skewers; the skewers were what I'd call aggressively "okay". The pieces of meat were too small and slightly tough, but the flavors were nice. Note: they don't speak much English. Ordering and paying is on QR-code/site, so that's fine, but they had trouble understanding someone in our group when we tried to tell them we had 20 people in the room and when they tried to seat us they also spoke Chinese. (Admittedly our group was Asian American and I *could* speak Chinese, but the ones who were talking to the hostess couldn't speak/understand.)

Yelp
I was surprised to see a skewers restaurant in Seattle and needed to try this one. I have to say don't get non spice if you come here. The non spicy skewers were extremely bland (got it for kids) they didn't enjoy that. The spicy beef ones were delicious. The braised pork combo is a go to and a must. Super tender and yummy with good portions. The appetizer was not as good we got the variety sample and wings. Wings were not as flavorful as we thought as well. The drinks are good we got the plum juice. The service was good and it was pretty busy when we got there.

Yelp
Okay can we just take a moment to appreciate this place being open till midnight? I've been looking for another late night place to be able to go after my shift and was so happy to find this place! I always crave something warm and comporting and this definitely hit the spot. I came in around 11 at night and was seated immediately. You order and pay through an app online so there's little communication with workers, aside from them bringing you the food, or asking you if you need anything, or how the meal is. I enjoyed this due to being tired and just wanting to be able to quickly eat and leave. After placing our order the service was very quick and prompt with our meal on the table in less than 5 minutes. The food was also delicious!! Very authentic and comporting though my soup lacked flavor which made their chili oil very necessary. The bowls were also massive, I was barley able to finish it myself, and for the price it was amazing! I would highly recommend this place to anyone especially a perfect spot to come late night for a cheap, delicious, quick, and comporting meal!
google avatar

Tony C.

Yelp
Overall a decent lunch place. The flavors are bright and the portion size is huge! The service is ok you just have to flag down the waiters. They will not stop by to ask you how you are doing. The ambience is very casual. The music is loud and the customers are loud as well. The noodle soup is decent. Very full of flavor but it's a little too savory for me. I would also like an option for a smaller size. I usually eat a lot but I can only finish half a bowl. The noodles are definitely huge portions. I could use less noodles so I can get more soup. The tomato and egg noddle is a bit on the dry side. Granted that noodles soak up juice, a little more sauce is good.
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
I am American, and was craving soup one night because I wasn't feeling well. Decided to give this place a try - I ordered take out from Uber (so I can't comment about vibe or atmosphere. But I was happily surprised. I ordered the beef flank soup with regular noodles. Delicious! Broth very flavorful and hearty, meat very tender and LOTs of it. I ended up eating it for 2 meals, not just 1. Soup came in screw on lid container with broth, and fillings on the side. Will definitely come back for comfort soup.
google avatar

Jade P.

Yelp
Love myself some hot soup noodle on a cold winter day. The service lady was really nice to us and kept offering us water and asking us if we need anything. We went around 7:45 and it was not too busy. After we ordered the food is ready within 10 mins. The beef soup is heavy in white pepper which I really like during the winter timers. The spicy cucumber got a little tingling sweetness to it as well. Over all the price is good value for the amount of food I'm getting. If you're in for a quick fix of soup noodle then this is the place to go.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
There's a QR code on each table to order and they bring it to your table. The food comes pretty quickly. There's also a big glass window to the kitchen where you can see them hand pull noodles. Food is always more delicious when you can see how it was made! ORIGINAL BEEF NOODLE SOUP - 5/5 The noodles are hand pulled and you can taste it. It was firm and chewy and very delicious. The soup was also really flavorful. They give you a bunch of meat and noodles so it is so worth it.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
After passing by this place so many times I finally went to go see how it was. I was a little reluctant based on the current rating but don't let that fool you. This place is good and pretty authentic. They make their noodles in house and it has a nice bite. My favorite is the tripe noodle! Yum.
google avatar

Vishakha Joshi

Yelp
The service was fast. Finding parking during dinner time is hard. Veg food is okay. Ambiance of the place is good.
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
Great place. Food was delicious AND served quickly. Not tableside service - as you order from the QR code and they just drop at your table. I felt it made it efficient and you can just enjoy your meal The bbq beef sandwich was SPICY and the beef noodle soup "said" it was spicy and wasn't... we added some chili oil
google avatar

Desirea N.

Yelp
Ordered to go. Ordered the Tomato Egg Noodle but didn't recieve the Wide Noodles that were pictured which was a bummer tasted good though. There was hardly any meat on the Pork sandwich which was disappointing. They also swapped the Diet Coke for regular coke, wish they would have just taken it off the order. Can't say that I recommend.

Andy M.

Yelp
Awesome noodles with no shortage of tender meat. The bbq skewers are really tasty too! Keeps me coming back for more!

Yelp
If you're looking for somewhere to eat during the cold rainy months of winter in the PNW, look no further than Nuodle. Immediately upon stepping into the restaurant, you can tell from the vibes that it's a very authentic place. They have a pretty good deal for a combo meal, which is two entrees, two sides, a pork bun, and two drinks for about $50. You can even pick your noodle shape! I got the spicy beef rib noodle soup with thin noodles. The noodles were a very good texture, kind of al dente, and tasted homemade. The broth was savory and flavorful, but not very spicy. I didn't particularly care for the beef rib, as the meat wasn't very tender and it was messy to try and bite it off the bone, especially with chopsticks. I loved the sides we ordered though! The century egg tofu was so good, and I also really liked the Szechuan beef, spiced chicken with chili sauce, and the pork bun. Everything tasted authentic and homemade, and felt like comfort food for me. I think some of my friends didn't particularly like some of the sides, like the potato salad, but this review is for my experience, not theirs :p I do think it would be nice to have more options for drinks with the combo. I got a Coke because I didn't care for the other limited selection they have. My friends got both the sweet and unsweet soy milk, and said neither one was sweet enough.
google avatar

Julia A.

Yelp
Eh. I was really excited to try this restaurant since I love me some noodles but I was left pretty disappointed. As soon as you walk in, pretty much the entire dining experience is interaction-free from the staff. When you get seated, there's a QR code at your table to scan and order online, which is great. No need to wait around for someone to get to you. After you place your order, food/drinks will start arriving at your table when things are ready. I ordered the Original Beef Hand-Pulled Noodle Soup and ordered it with a thicker noodle...and when my order came out, the noodles were not correct. I didn't bother correcting them since the staff were running around like crazy due to the high volume of customers during lunch time. The overall taste of the soup was just okay. It seemed a little bland to me and was just overall disappointing. I was impressed by the hand pulled noodles themselves though. I do want to give this place a second shot (and maybe order something different).

Thomas H.

Yelp
Big beef rib noodles! Good value and good food. Lots of chinese people tells you something
google avatar

Mayu D.

Yelp
Ambience- 3/5. It looks like a clean casual restaurant. Service - 3/5. Since you order through a QR code, there is hardly any interaction with the staff. Food - 3/5. I'd give 3.5 for noodle dishes, but 2.5 or 3 for rice dishes there so far. It's a noodle focused restaurant so just order a noodle dish. The meat on the noodle was flavorful and tender while the meat on the rice dish was chewy and tough. Rice was also really dry.

Christopher P.

Yelp
Tried this place out with a coworker for lunch today. Atmosphere was pretty nice. Wasn't too crowded and clean. Was greeted and seated timely. QR codes on the table to self order using your phone. I ordered the Spicy Beef Rib Noodle and he ordered some braised beef rice dish. The soup I got was just ok. My issues with it. 1) There was nothing spicy about it at all. Like why even call it spicy when there isn't any spice. I added chili oil from the table to add spice. 2) The meat to noodle ratio was just so off. You got maybe 3 to 4 bites of meat and a ton of noodles. When I compared that to my friends rice dish, he seemed to have double if not triple the amount of meat. 3) the broth was just ok. Had much better broth with bolder flavors but after adding the chili oil, it helped. Overall, it's just ok. If they fix the meat to noodle ratio, I'd order it again. Suggest they remove the word spicy cause that's misleading. Had no spice.

Yelp
Noodles are good , their broth is amazing! You order online on there QR code. Our server seems don't speak English!
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
I LOVE hand-pulled noodles and was very excited to try a place on the Eastside that would offer them. I ordered the braised fungus and tofu noodles, with the option of wide noodles. The ordering process is very much self-service, you scan a QR code at your table and order via their website. The dishes are very customizable - you can modify everything from toppings to the type of noodle. My noodles were decent - a little on the drier side but well cooked. The braised fungus and tofu was a standout - it was perfectly flavorful without being too salty and flavored the noodles nicely once I mixed everything together. I will definitely be returning to try the beef noodle soup!
google avatar

Betsy H.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, perfect beef noodle soup.. Watching the noodle guy provided entertainment throughout the meal for my senior citizen parents. We loved it.
google avatar

Jonathan O.

Yelp
This place makes the best beef noodle soup on the Eastside. They don't have a ton of selection for entrees, but each entree stands on its own and is better than other options in the area. The broth is rich and well-seasoned, the noodles are made fresh to order, and the plum juice is the only one I drink! All noodle soup is delicious, but a place that provides better ingredients and better technique without a bunch of hype or an obscene price tag is a beautiful thing.
google avatar

Sachi T.

Yelp
Delicious fried noodles and braised pork belly!! I was invited to try their food and was surprised with how soft and flavorful the braised pork with rice dish was. Will be back again to get more! The crispy beef pancake also was delicious and the noodles are the perfect app. Food came out super fast and be prepared to flag down the waiter if you need something as they are focused on bringing your food asap.
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
The noodle soup I ordered was a bit bland (I ordered spicy but it wasn't spicy at all!). Not sure if they got my order wrong or if it's just extra bland. I enjoyed my friend's order of noodles more, he got a dry noodle dish. Service was good, we got seated immediately even though it was right during dinner time. There was only a larger table left so we shared with another group. Didn't feel crowded though, there was a good amt of space between us.

Yelp
Noodle place where you can watch your noodles being handmade to order. I ordered their tomato and egg noodles (thick size for noodle). I enjoyed that there was plenty of sauce, tomatoes, and eggs to go with each bite of the noodle. The sauce was perfect -- not too salty nor watery. The noodles were chewy and al dente. I was even able to watch the noodles being stretched and made to order, since I got a table facing the window. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge.  My family and I really enjoyed and highly recommend their cucumber appetizer dish. We were glad we went with the larger size so that there would be more to go around. The cucumbers were cool and crunchy with a touch of vinegar and a small kick (spice).  You order via QR code. All of the utensils, napkins, and straws are on the table already. The ambiance is casual. You can take your time to enjoy your meal and not get rushed. It does take some time to get the waiter's attention when you're trying to flag them down though. They share a parking lot with other restaurants and markets.

Yelp
TL;DR If you are a Lanzhou native, expect that it'll taste close enough to hit the spot if you're homesick. If you've never had authentic Lanzhou beef noodles, come here to try it, but definitely try it properly in Lanzhou if you visit! This means finding the busiest LZ noodle joint in the MORNING and not a fancyish proper restaurant. This is a fast breakfast food. I was born in Lanzhou and go back to visit family every couple years. I come here when I'm feeling homesick but don't have the time/energy to make it at home. Similar to pho, it's a common breakfast that people drop in to eat every morning during their commute to work. The best I can describe this is a Lanzhou noodle shop opened in Xi'an, so it has Xi'an dishes too. Recently they started offering bbq kabobs (eg cumin lamb, beef, shrimp skewers). Tried the lamb and it was decent. This is a long winded way of saying this is close enough to hit the spot for nostalgia. It probably wouldn't survive in Lanzhou itself, but would be decent in any other city outside of Lanzhou. The next closest competitor I've tried would be Malan Noodles (in SoCal). Side dishes are a hit and miss. Of the ones I've tried I would rank it the following: cucumber, seaweed, egg, shredded potatoes, beef bun, pickled veg. I wish they had the spicy pickled cabbage, or if the shredded potatoes were more crisp (soaked to remove starch). The extra sides of beef slices and radishes are large. Def recommend ordering them only if you have a second person to split with.
