The Best German Restaurants and Beer Halls in NYC | Eater NY

"Mullioned windows, a dark bar lined with steins, and a couple of dining rooms covered in bric-a-brac, plus an outdoor biergarden, make up the Nurnberger complex, named after Bavaria’s second largest city — and the site of Nazi war crimes trials after the Second World War. Burgers are a highlight here, including the “Nurn-burger,” 10 ounces of prime meat on a pretzel roll topped with bacon, fried onions, and your choice of cheese. There are sandwiches galore (including a Black Forest ham and a sauerkraut-heaped Reuben), plus salads, wursts, and schnitzels at this West Brighton neighborhood spot a short bus ride from the ferry terminal." - Viktoria Muench

Food was really enjoyable, our server (Jean) was great fun, and beer selection was what we’d hoped for. We really were hoping for a strong German feel, and they delivered. We had four generations with us, so being in the far room was helpful since it was quite loud in the main area. Overall, loved the atmosphere & eats. Visited a year ago by myself since I was in the area for work…everyone loved it. Will eat here again this vacation! (Follow-up: we ate there for THREE dinners...win!)

Google
We live over an hour away, but occasionally we want excellent German food and make the trek to this restaurant. The service, quantity, and quality of the food never disappoint. We typically order more food to eat later…today was no different. We started with a pretzel and beef goulash soup. Then ordered a some currywürst and fries for my daughter and myself. My son (who was born in Germany) wanted a kids burger. For dessert we ordered the Black Forest cake. I really wanted the apple strudel, but my walnut allergy makes that decision for me. To bring home, we got an order of Sauerbraten, Goulash and noodles, and käsespatzel. We may have to make a trip back in the near future…everything was delicious!

Google
This was our first time here, we went for lunch. I had the kielbasa with mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I also added on a side of spatzele noodles. He had the chicken schnitzel with German sliced potatoes with bacon and added on a side of red cabbage. He also ordered a Krombacher Helle. We had the 2 soft pretzels for an appetizer. All the food was excellent along with the service. Can't wait to go back and try other items.

Google
Seated very quickly. Waitress was very helpful in us picking food. Unfortunately she was so busy everything took long to get. Sat for 15 minutes with the beer we ordered sitting on the bar. The place wasn’t even that crowded. The food itself was wonderful and delicious. The atmosphere is great. We will try again and hopefully our waitress next time will be able to handle a small crowd. All in all a good experience with good food.

Google
Our server was so knowledgeable about the food, a positive attitude, and was a delight. The food was beyond amazing, and I can't wait to stop in again.

James Staeckeler

Google
Good German food. I had the Jagerschnitzel, and my wife had the Ziegunschnitzel. Both were very good and freshly made, and we heard the chef pounding the cutlets in the kitchen. However, the lunch portion size was very small. 1 small pork cutlet each. I ordered the potato dumpling and red cabbage with mine. The potato dumpling was very bland, and the crouton in the middle was mushy white bread. The red cabbage was excellent. My wife had hasbrowns, which were seasoned good and delicious. We also shared an oeder of potato pancakes, which were also freshly made but lacked any seasoning.

Google
Service is great, but keep in mind they are local. Sometimes they are busier than expected and there is a wait. I have hung out at the bar for hrs. or waited 30+ min to be seated. They do their best to make each guest feel welcome. Prices are moderate. Guest Welcoming is exceptional. Service is Exceptional. Based upon volume you might have to wait a bit. Talk to you Server and Bartender and relax. Enjoy the Experience!!!

Google
Came in with a party of 13 on a Friday night - the service was wonderful (Shoutout Donna!!!) and the food was immaculate. We tried almost the full menu between all of us and it was all delicious. They were incredibly accommodating with our big party including children. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Lovely decor, true to old world Germany. The food is always spot on, hot and filling served by 4 lovely women in full german dress, impeding service!

Yelp
What a place! Can't remember a time when I wanted to eat everything on the menu from one restaurant. Looks like a beer hall inside, with a beer garden outside. Waitstaff have German beer hall attire on as well to fit the theme. Music playing in the background also goes with the decor. Food is pretty good; great mix of Eastern European fare. The game sausage sampler was great; two kinds of mustard came with it. The yellow mustard with horse radish hit the spot, nice and strong. The stone ground had a sweetness to it that rounded out the gamey nature of some sausages. There was potato salad on the side which was pretty good. Had the jagerschnitzel with tomato and pepper gravy. That included sweet pickle pieces so it was like a sweet and sour sauce. The pork was thin and breaded well, but not dried out and chewy. The fries were good too, but you can't go wrong with fries. There is also a really nice German beer selection as well. Price point is fine, just high enough, but not fine dining high. Portion size is also large enough to not feel terrible spending $24 a plate. Will definitely come back no questions asked.

Yelp
This German restaurant is a gem for those craving classic dishes and a variety of beers. It's a delightful spot to enjoy authentic German cuisine and a great selection of brews.

Yelp
First and last time going there. First, they sat us right by the restrooms! Staff was friendly but service was very slow. Food arrived but dry spaetzle was cold and without gravy or taste. Husband, who is from Germany, could not eat the sauerbraten - which was not sour but extremely sweet. He never tasted sauerbraten like that before. Left the entire 2 slices of beef. Only thing the owner or manager lady said was "Sorry you didn't like it but that's our recipe". Decor is nice but that's about it.
google avatar

Donna G.

Yelp
The place is very German! The servers are in authentic garb. The service is so good they Will go out of their way to change items in your dinner to Make you happy. The husbands loved the beers and food. The portions are huge and if you get an appetizer (we did) you will be bringing your dinner home (we did)! German fest is crazy fun but make reservations ahead!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Been here twice and I keep forgetting to take a picture of the beer. Just too excited and thirsty I guess lol The outdoor side seating area is where the party is, but the inside dining hall is where you get the German pub mixed with the middle ages kinda vibe. If it weren't for the English speaking staff you could be fooled into thinking you're in a different country, perhaps Germany!! The star of the show was the shepherds pie made of the different wursts + sauerkraut! OMG I want more of it!! The steak was solid. But the side dishes -- potato gratin and the creamy mushrooms with bacon, truly made it shine. Try this place out if you're ever in the Poconos area! You'll thank me later!

Yelp
We waited an hour and a half to be seated, after making reservations 3 weeks back, and confirming a week out. It took another half hour for the waitress to take our drink orders. I told her we had our appetizer orders ready too. She said to give her a second. 20 minutes later she came back with no drinks, ready for the appetizers. A half hour later still nothing on the table, she comes back take our dinner order. And after another 40 minutes, they brought us another table's order, who didn't want it anymore, after they came to take it back to the correct table. This is after waiting for waters for a half hour. While, there was a pitcher sitting at the waitress station the whole time, that we ended up getting ourselves. While the other half of our table, went to the bar to get waters. When we got there hours ago, the owner was there. Fast forward to everything spiraling down the toilet, he happened to "step out". I guess he knew which way this night was going. This is on top of them being out of things on the menu. As the half dozen waitresses were passing each other like headless chickens and empty handed, they asked each other "do you have table 7?" to which she replied "which is 7?" Drove up 2 and a half hours because we missed the original location in NY. I felt like we were on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm or Bar Rescue. The waitresses had the audacity to say "you want to work here?" Really? You'd be better off hiring rocks than these ladies. Rocks can do a better job. ROCKS!

Yelp
Took a drive and came here for the second time last Sunday. Food and beers were great, it was packed and they were able to accommodate us after a 20 min wait. Best part of our dinner was the service, the two waitresses were so sweet with my son. At the end of our meal our waitress brought him an Elmo book, toy and bubbles for being such a good boy :) she really made his day. Thank you!

Yelp
Great authentic German restaurant with a great beer selection. We went here after we realized that we had to have a reservation for another nearby German restaurant. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table inside, and we were able to get beers from the outside bar while we waited. The outside bar is cash only but you can pay with card inside. It looks like they have live music from 4-7pm outside in the summertime. Highly recommend if you like German food and are in the area!

Ay K.

Yelp
Food and beer is delicious but extremely pricey for a bar in the middle of nowhere where
google avatar

Yelp
In the middle of no-where you will find this charming and enchanted restaurant. The first time my sister and I drove past here cause our gps took us off our normal route. We looked at each other and turned around to check it out. From the outside it looked like a little of Germany was plopped right here. The second time we drove 3.5hrs to go here -we loved that much the first time. Inside has Germany music but perfect sound so you can talk to person you're with or at the bar. Inside and out decor is Bavarian theme. Staff: this is what made us feel at home. From the waitress to the bartender. Friendly, funny and accommodating staff. Beer: the bartenders knows his beer!! So helpful! Food: I could have drank the mushroom gravy it was the delicious! Food:

S T.

Yelp
Great service! Friendly people and delicious food! Spatzel, potato pancakes. Chicken. Sausages. Black forest cake. EVERYTHING was so good!

Amy L.

Yelp
We had dinner here this evening. The soup, salad and appetizers were delicious. I enjoyed the schnitzel but my husband felt the sauerbraten would have been better had it marinated a bit longer. Our waitress Amy and busboy were very nice. The other waitress was quite loud, rude to other staff members and a bit over the top. I certainly wouldn't want her or the bartender to wait on me in the future.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
Was hoping the sauerbraten was fabulous, but it was super dry, and no fatty parts, like if they used the verbal description at the bar, "German pot roast" to add to the requested flavor. Not as flavorful. Big bummer. Oh, and another bummer, no potato pancakes - say what???? Sister's jaegerschnitzel was ok but a mushroom sauce is a must-order to flavor the dry fried meat, and the potatoes weren't crispy. Beer choices were fabulous, and the bartender was wonderful. Overall very average food experience. Will try something different on the menu next time we are in town!

Yelp
Ambiance was very nice. Wait staff was very cordial and attentive. Facility was very clean. Food was lacking seasoning, dry w small portions with over pricing.

Yelp
Have been meaning to come here for a while- finally made the trip a week ago!! About 20 minutes from where we stay on Lake Wallenpaupack, definitely a must try!!! After living in Germany for a year, I have high standards for authentic German and Nurnberger Bierhaus takes the cake! I had the Jägerschnitzel and my boyfriend had a salmon dish, both delicious. We sat at the bar but there is a great "beer hall" Style atmosphere. They also have a great outdoor area. Service was pleasant and quick as you could ask for on a Saturday night. Had great convo with the bartender and enjoyed conversation with others vacationing in the area. I recommended this to family and some have already visited with rave reviews and many more plan to try it!! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
Very German dining room. Beer was good but dinner not so much. I only took one bite of my Wiener Schnitzel and left the rest on the plate on touched. It is good practice to change the oil in your pan once in a while. The veal tasted and smelled like very, very, old and overused oil. I was disappointed with my meal. A little pricy for what your getting too. Servers are attentive and very nice.

Andrea M.

Yelp
This has become our absolute favorite place!! The menu is second to none, awesome authentic German atmosphere and the staff is amazing. Brian is by far the best bartender - you will not be disappointed!!

Pat S.

Yelp
Unmatched place with the best German food and beer we have found in the States. I was stationed in Germany for a few years and can attest this is the most authentic German "Gasthaus" in terms of both food and ambience. Outdoor Biergarten well worth a visit. The people who work there are super friendly and welcoming, which makes this an amazing place to sit, have a great German beer on draft, and relax. This is a destination restaurant, well worth the trip.

Yelp
Excellent food !!! Great atmosphere, the owner is always on the floor making sure your food and drinks are Top Quality

Yelp
Excellent food, drinks and service. Didn't try the desserts but will definitely come back. Goulash dishes are amazing as are the schnitzels.

Nancy S.

Yelp
We've been here more than a few times and never a complaint. Everything one orders is fantastic. We recently went with friends and we were surprised at the raise of the prices from the meals to drinks. Wow! And the quantity is less than it was. So I would imagine they want to serve upscale people anymore. It's too expensive for us.
google avatar

Cesar A.

Yelp
Great German atmosphere, better food and beer selection. You can not go wrong with this hidden treasure. Staff was very welcoming, and on top of making you feel like a regular. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow! What a fantastic restaurant! This is perhaps the best place to eat in the area. The food is out of this world. The service is friendly, prompt and professional. We stopped by for a leisurely lunch on a very cold Saturday. After ordering a round of drinks, we decided on the potato pancakes and soft pretzels to start. For entrees we chose the Weinerschnitzel, the Kielbasa platter and the Assorted Sausage Platter. First, our heritage is Eastern European so we are no strangers to potato pancakes. These by far were some of the best we had. They are much thicker than we are accustomed to but the flavor and texture is incredible. The soft pretzels were the standard frozen pretzel but they were served with two delicious mustard sauces which were the stand out of this appetizer. The weinerschnitzel was delicious, the kielbasa plate was mouthwatering good and the assorted sausage platter was like you've died and gone to heaven. Seriously, the food is outrageous. The fried potatoes and sauerkraut are so good. Even the French fries were top notch. Lastly, the dining room is festive and fun. A really nice place to spend an hour or two. The service is outstanding, friendly and proactive. They really know how to do it here. Highly highly recommend lunch or dinner at this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
So my best friend and I are having a "boys weekend" to get away from the everyday humdrum. Yesterday, as we always seem to do a lot of Italian, decided to switch it up and do German. Nurnberger Bierhaus has only been open since August 2020 with the Yelp "New and Hot" flagging, and they were close to our rental, so this was the choice. Boy, it was a good one! Even with COVID-19, the place was full of customers and the owners told us they've been busy since opening. Staff are all wearing masks, there's enough distance between tables, and it seemed everything was being done safely. The fully German choices were all hits that my friend and I had. We stared with a special appetizer of smoked trout served cold with a very tasty and not too intense horseradish sauce. The sauce was so good I asked for some to go home and I'd pay for it, but unfortunately that could not be done. I had Wienerschnitzel which was two nice pieces of breaded and fried veal along with the noodles (I'm forgetting the German term) and some broccoli, carrots, and a jam. This was all great. My friend went with the sampler sausage platter which included four different sausages along with potatoes. This was another winner. For drinks, we each had a dark Krombacher but I had the Bee Sting which included honey liquor mixed in. OMG was that good; probably the best dark beer I've ever had! We both ended up asking for one to go each because we thought due to COVID-19 that restaurants were allowing takeout drinks. Once again, we were wrong and instead went for round two in the restaurant. I definitely was feeling good and talking a lot. I wanted to have a cordial, and because the restaurant couldn't accommodate the takeout or horseradish sauce, ended up giving us the fig cordial on the house. Wow. My friend and I finished with a kid-sized one scoop of special apple crisp ice cream. Everything was so good and we had a wonderful time. Turns out the owners were originally from NY so we had a little discussion about that. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our desires. If you're in the area in the mood for German food, this is the place! We did have a little issue with the reservation as my friend called and had to leave a message instead of speaking to someone. The owner said they were having issues with the phones and cannot obtain any messages left. So, since we technically didn't have a reservation, we had to wait all of about 15 minutes before we could be seated which was not a problem. Owner said to make sure for now you actually speak to someone to make the reservation. About $130 for two not including tip. Two appetizers, four beers, two mains, and dessert. And they threw in the cordial. I wish the business continued success!

Yelp
I feel like we went perhaps on an "off" night. Made a same-day reservation for my husbands birthday. We were a party of 5 plus a high chair. When we arrived at our reservation time, a woman (not sure if she was hostess/owner) told us they were running behind. Totally understandable. After about 20 minutes I saw some people leaving and asked if we could grab their table since we were the only ones waiting. She responded it was a high-top table and that we were SUPPOSED to sit there but they didn't know we needed a high chair, which wouldn't fit. I reminded her that I requested room for a high chair earlier when I called and even saw it written as a note NEXT TO MY NAME in the reservation book. She then said they were just super busy. When we sat, the waitress came over and informed us that our first round was on the house due to the mix-up, which was very kind. Then, after ordering our entrees, mine was forgotten. I was told it was coming right out. Then I saw our waitress watching the television for a few minutes with some other employees. At one point, she ran to the kitchen and brought me my food....once everyone else was done. I brought this to her attention and she apologized. It wasn't worth the fight so I had it wrapped to go. I am giving two stars not because we had to wait, but more because the reason why wasn't the truth. It is totally understandable restaurants are short-staffed; however, please don't say it's because the customer didn't say something... as you are speaking to them... over a book... that has the request written in giant letters. And then on top of them forget one of the meals because employees were watching television.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
So I was recommended by a friend to check this restaurant out. Absolutely awesome! Such a pure German vibe from the building, decor and menu. We tried Nurnberger Rostbratwurstchen and wiener schnitzel and Rouladen.
google avatar

Gladys S.

Yelp
Amazing traditional German food! Get the muscles!!! And make sure you have bread to dip in the sauce. Never had anything on the menu that wasn't excellent! The service is great! Everyone is very friendly and took great care to make sure we had what we wanted. Highly recommend!

Yelp
First and foremost,we will return. They've ave an extensive German food menu. Outside dining has a different menu, its cash only.(ATM on premises) started with cocktails(old fashions) Bryan makes a good one. we split a bowl of goulash soup. Very good. The chunks of beef were tender and sauce was good.( needed a little more salt). Entres of weinerschnitzel and rouladen. Schnitzel served with home made spaetzel, vege of day cooked perfect. ROULADEN(stuffed with onion, sauerkraut, pickles and bacon. Two huge rolls served with red cabbage and an amazing dumpling. We saved room for desert of German chocolate cake. However, we got the Black forest cake. After we both ate that first bite realizing it was not German chocolate we ate the whole thing. That was corrected and we got what we ordered. Having ate the Black forest cake we took just one taste of the German chocolate and took the rest home. We had both leftovers from dinner and desert. We opened the desert(German chocolate cake)at home and by this time it was at room temp and so much more flavorful. A glass of milk and yikes! Toasted! Reservations are needed. We arrived at 6 and the place was hopping. It is a big facility. We ate at the bar. The reason for the 4 star review was it was our 1st time and they have such an extensive menu. The partners are retired NYPD one of them born and raised for a while in the fatherland. They have a good thing, great location with lots of space. No issues with service. Look forward to the next time. Oh,there was a severe thunderstorm while we were there, power out and back on instantly as the crowd cheered. Almost forgot,I am not a beer drinker but they have 12 or 13 German beers on tap and several types in bottles as well.

Mike C.

Yelp
Make no doubt about it, this is an authentic German restaurant. Walking into the main dining room and feel transported to the country of Germany. Or, weather permitting... venture outside and have outdoor seating with drinks and a more bar friendly food menu. There are two major reasons why this establishment did not receive five stars . The first is my party traveled over 50 minutes to this place excited to sample their lunch menu on Sunday. When we sat down in the main dining room, we were informed her lunch menu is only available Monday through Saturday. Nowhere is this listed on their website. We then tried to order potato pancakes, and then were promptly informed yet again due to a supplier issue there were no potato pancakes available at all. We politely excused ourselves from the main dining room, and sat outside to sample the more bar friendly food menu. It was enjoyable, but not what we came for. We are still undecided if we will return another day to actually sample the lunch menu. If we do, rest assured, we will call ahead to make sure items are available.

Yelp
Great food and staff. One of the owners was kind enough to squeeze us in the other night even though we did not have reservations. Food was very good and a nice beer selection. Highly recommend going there.
google avatar

Olly A.

Yelp
Met an owner, he was awesome. His parents, off the boat. Awesome. The beer. Awesome. Schnapps. Awesome. Food? Irritatingly awesome....keep getting the same thing. Service. Awesome. The place. Awesome. I leave here happy. Every time.
google avatar

Yelp
My brother was excited to take us here for a holiday family dinner. Even though we had reservations, the place was way understaffed and we waited 20 mins to sit. While we stood in the front door area, with nowhere to really relax, the kids and I saw 2 mice running across the dining room. Now we're in the middle of nowhere, and if you come here you'd understand. I hadn't eaten anything all day, so we stayed. That was something I'd regret. I'm not going to go on and on about just how terrible everything was. When your under staffed and overwhelmed I get it. But we basically wasted a perfectly good night off on this dump. Don't make the same mistake I did.
google avatar

Adrian V.

Yelp
Great place. Been here 5 times, always good food. Awesome service. Wait staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A lot of interesting drafts, Bitburger. This place is in the rotation of restaurants we regularly eat at because it never lets us down.

Ana L.

Yelp
My husband and I had a 6:00 reservation. We were not seated until 15 minutes later. In that moment we understood it was a busy time and a three day weekend. Once seated we proceeded to wait another 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The waitress took our drink and entree order. We continued to wait a total of one hour and a half before we expressed our displeasure to the owner. There was only a "I told you so" type of response. In addition, the maitre'd/ owner passed our table more than once and never asked how we were doing. Lastly, we were placed a in a back room that was very cold. We left money on the table to cover our drinks and We will never dine there again.

Yelp
Everyone should have a Nurnbergers near their home. They always remember who you are. The German food is beyond awesome. The mussels appetizer is fabulous. The chicken cordon blue is amazing. On the second Sunday of the month. (Don't hold me to this.) they have an Irish breakfast with Irish music. What a great time. It is truly a fabulous place. I could go on forever about the food. The pear martini is delicious. Just go and find out for yourself. Say hi to Linda

Allan S.

Yelp
Nice large bar inside, in warmer weather they have a small outside bar. Food is pretty good not too expensive. Great selection of german beers on tap. Bar fills up fast on weekends, popular spot with the locals. Friendly staff.
google avatar

ian c.

Yelp
Atmosphere is very nice, servers attentive and informative. Potato pancakes were so-so, tasted a lot like a big hash brown. Pickled herring not bad, large serving for an appetizer. Red cabbage, great. The chicken cutlets were very thin but excellent with the garlic butter. All of the wursts were spectacular, cooked to perfection. The pork loin was a bit dry, and the potato dumplings were unfortunately a disappointment. The desserts were amazing. It was very busy and we were advised that they were short staffed and training new people. The wait wasn't too long, I recommend reservations for Saturday night. Overall a positive eating experience, but not a memorable one.
google avatar

Francesca L.

Yelp
I spent my birthday here last weekend. The food was fantastic (I had the schntizel trio special & my friend had the horseradish crusted pork chop) and so were the cocktails (Old Fashioneds) but Bonnie, our server, was AMAZING and made it a really special day for me! When I come back, I will make sure she is working before I come in!
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
We ate here in a party of 3 adults on a busy Saturday night with no reservations. The staff very politely sat us after a short wait. The entire staff were friendly, attentive, and appeared to enjoy the restaurant and each other. They were a well run team. The food was some of the best German food that any of us has eaten outside of Germany. I recommend the pickled herring starter. Betty, our server, was fantastic and treated us like family. Thank you!!

Yelp
What a fun new addition to Lake Ariel! The Nurnberger Bierhaus has a killer atmosphere and authentic German decor, from Oktoberfest banners to bier steins on bier steins. Coming from a German family, I can also say the beer offerings and food menu aren't too shabby either. They offer daily German beer specials, and all beers are served in special glasses to suit their type. The appetizers are fun and authentic, with pretzels and grainy mustard galore and the most delicious spatzle with fried onions and cheese. The menu was also very friendly to various dietary preferences, with gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options not typically easy to come by in a German restaurant. Add some beer cheese into the pretzels mix, and I'd call it a home run.

Therese C.

Yelp
We were visiting from Buffalo NY and passed by the restaurant on our travels. The service and hospitality was outstanding. The authenticity of the food and decor was amazing. My husband felt like he was back in Germany. The wide variety of beer on tap was much appreciated. Next time we are visiting here we will definitely make it back.
google avatar

Reagan B.

Yelp
Simply amazing! Top notch quality German cuisine, excellent ambiance, and very pleasant staff. Wish we learned about this restaurant sooner. We will definitely be back for more!

Fletcher B.

Yelp
Yummy food I think the beer is good my family said it was I personally do not try the beer so yeah

Yelp
Fantastic overall experience! Food is very good and authentic. Hard to say if it's the best German option in the region (there are several legit competitors in the area) but rest assured it will not disappoint. Service was outstanding! Super friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable about food menu and beer options. Decor and ambiance is perfect. Feels like you're in a real German beer hall. This was the best restaurant experience in the area thus far.

Yelp
The food is really good. I love pretzel rolls. Put a burger on one and you've got a customer for life. Friendly staff is always a plus. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Sooo good! We'd never had German food before and can't wait to get back. My wife is very particular and she raved about it! Looking forward to our next meal there! Highly recommend

Yelp
Our second stop here. The first time we didn't know we should have reservations, but the host was accommodating and sat us at the bar. Had a great conversation with the bartender. Ordered a German bier and a few appetizers. Excellent and on spot with the Allgäuer Käsespaetzle, Except the onions were not deep fried, being picky here :). Our second visit was with friends and what a dinner! I had the Beef Rouladen. Just what I remember when visiting family in Germany. My son had the Schnitzel, no complaints there! We will be back soon to try more appetizers (Vorspeisen) and main dishes for sure! So many to choose from. The friendly staff really adds to the experience. Of course none of them speak German, but that's asking a lot :)

Yelp
Have never had a bad meal here. Great German fare and feel. Extensive beer list, outdoor seating, friendly staff and solid German food. Prices are reasonable and the portions are large, you can easily take half home for lunch the next day.
