"Do you prefer your BECs on a bagel? NY Jumbo Bagel does an excellent one. That said, their breakfast sandwich on a roll is very respectable. This thing is hefty without being ridiculous, and there’s a generous amount of melty cheese. BEC Power Points: Lots of cheese, and the perfect not-too-big, not-too-small size. Penalties: It’s a bit remote, on the far northeast Corner of Midtown. Served Until: All Day We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Google
Runny egg, melted cheese and crispy bacon. Put that in a bagel with friendly service and you have Jumbo. Great breakfast.

Google
Delicious bagels!! So glad I walked in the freezing cold to try their bagels. I was so disappointed the other day trying a different bagel shop with a LOT of hype and after waiting for 45 minutes in a chaotic line, I was surprised at the lack of flavor and hardened bagel I got. I made sure to tell the gentleman at Jumbo bagels how much better their bagels are than the place close by. Definitely give them a try!!

Google
A super casual bagel shop offering a range of fillings in the UES. In my opinion, the quality of the food as well as the presentation is subpar. Also, the service leaves a lot to be desire. I am sure there are better options!

Google
I found the bagel with bacon, egg and cheese for breakfast was delicious and didn’t break the bank like most sit-down restaurants in the area. This place is usually pretty busy so it’ll take you some time to get in and out, so come a little earlier. I don’t know when the rush time is so check through google maps. They have so many options so choose something different every day. Enjoy!

Google
Bagels were excellent but on the smaller size compared to other bagels we’ve gotten in New York. But taste wise it was definitely outstanding. We loved how it was easier to bite given its softer shell. Also bring cash if you want to avoid the 4% credit card fee!

Google
Is it possible for a bagel to be dry? I dunno but that's what it was like. It wasn't hard or stale just very regular for a 4 star establishment. Everything Bagel with Cream cheese 7$ Also lacked flavor (seasoning)

Google
We have eaten at so many great places while visiting here however this has been by far our fav!!! My girls have eaten their way thru bagels for breakfast each morning and loved each one but this place takes the BIG WIN for sure! Their homemade hot sauce is a MUST try if you like a spice!!

Google
Finally gave this place a try, and honestly, despite the queue suggesting otherwise, I found the bagels quite meh. They offer a standard variety of cream cheeses, nothing ambitious. But ultimately the bagel just felt kind of flat compared to others around town. Not horrible but not worth going more than around the block for.

Yelp
Visited for the first time this morning. It was a quick walk from our hotel. I had a cinnamon bagel with strawberry cream cheese. My husband had a pumpernickel with olive cream cheese. Do yourself a favor and go for one of the flavored cream cheeses. You'll thank me later. The bagels themselves were amazing. Probably one of the best I've had. We'll stop in again when we visit NYC next.

Rachel N.

Yelp
Not bad for a shop that looks like a corner deli. 3.9/5 flavor - Pretty yummy! Salty and flavorful. 3/5 texture - Decent chew on the interior despite looking a bit flat. Not bready. No craggles however on the exterior crust. 2/5 ambiance - Basically a corner deli slash Middle Eastern takeout counter. Very hole in the wall.

Waylon J.

Yelp
Your classic NYC bagel shop. Limited seating, plenty of bagel and spread options. Even when it's busy the food comes out pretty quick and is really flavorful. I definitely want to try some of the other flavor options but I'll be back for that. The team is nice in a classic nyc fast pace.

Miranda M.

Yelp
The breakfast bagels are amazing! The variety of bagels is excellent! I enjoyed every bite and honestly it really is jumbo! I only finished half. It travels well as I ate the other half on a plane ride. The service was helpful and quick! A great place to pick up and take on the go.

Yelp
It's rare that I will say this, but the bagels are too big. Yes, I know, what else could I expect from a restaurant that is called "jumbo bagel," but sometimes you want a little bit of hyperbole instead of that descriptor actually being delivered. That said, the bagel sandwich with lox spread was very good and I would certainly go back to this restaurant if needing a bagel in this neighborhood. A bit pricey, but the bagels were very good with a well-balanced outer crust with good quote tooth resistance," with a well formed should we go on the inside. Perhaps some will say that the bagels are too sweet, but I still feel this is a solid choice when you need this New York staple.

Allison C.

Yelp
Close to $20 for a bagel with scallion cream cheese and lox. Only put cream cheese on one side and gave two slices of lox per bagel. Shame. This place was my go to for years. Bagels have changed, not the crusty outside/soft inside they were so well known for in the past. Want to keep supporting them over the chains in the area, but this is ridiculous.

C B.

Yelp
Food - is fairly standard. The bagels didn't taste as fresh to me as some other spots in the area, but a brekkie sandwich does the job. Service - is efficient. No frills, but they will charge you a fairly high credit card fee which I was not expecting. Not a lot of sitting room - more of a to-go place.

Mark G.

Yelp
Great bagels etc. I come from New Jersey just for them. Ok not really. My son and daughter in law grand daughter live in the area. Good excuse to see them. Haha

Yelp
Last week I tried NY Jumbo Bagels for the first time. After eating my first Baker's Dozen I can easily say this is my favorite Bagel Shop in the area!!! Absolutely worth the extra 2 block walk!!! Bagels were superb!!! Perfect crust, delicious chewy insides, seasoned perfectly!!! LOVE their salt, pumpernickel, egg, plain, sesame, and poppyseed bagels!!! Everything bagels needed a touch more salt for my taste. Regardless, NY Jumbo Bagels is my new favorite on the UES - if not all of Manhattan!!! They come out like fresh bagels when warmed whole in the air fryer at 325 for 1 to 2 minutes. Service was fast and really friendly! Servers are hilarious in Spanish, too!!! Can't wait to go back!

Lora C.

Yelp
Quite an operation! Good food. STRONG coffee OMG!Bring cash if you don't want to pay the 4% credit/debit card fee. Good service.

Yelp
Legit bagels and cannoli in one place! This bagel shop is way more than bagels! Yes, they have fabulous bagels - crisp on the outside with the perfect chew inside - and they come in all the regular flavors plus some very unique ones: Russian pumpernickel; rainbow; pumpkin to name a few. And the schmears! So much goodness! And of course bagel breakfast sandwiches and the classic bagel with lox, cream cheese, red onion and capers. But they also have different kinds of soup, salads, Italian pastries, the NY black and white cookie, NY crumb cake (my fave), falafel, spanakopita and sandwiches. Located right next to my friend's apartment, whenever I visit I head to Junbo Bagels for my bagel fix. Nothing compares to a NYC bagel! I'm a purist so my go-to is a poppyseed (not toasted, I want to taste the freshness) with scallion creamcheese. Soooo good. I need to book my next flight to get a bagel, I mean to see my friend!

Mona T.

Yelp
i've been here twice-- the first time, i got a veggie omelette on an everything bagel and the second time, i got a lox and cream cheese with capers, onion and tomato. - veggie omelette: a little bland and the egg was kind of overcooked; wish there had been more filling in it, as that would have balanced out the bread to filling ratio and textures better. an affordable option overall-- i just wish it could have given more in both flavor and filling. - lox and cream cheese with capers, onion, and tomato: the total for this came out to over $18 which is kind of crazy and overpriced even for NYC standards. you can never really go wrong with a lox cream cheese bagel in ny, and this one tasted fresh and was bursting with flavor. the textures, however, were not as ideal. the cream cheese was too watery, leading to the sandwich itself falling apart way too easily. the bagels themselves are good quality though-- fresh, well-toasted, dense, and pillowy-- though not really any more so than your average NYC bagel. otherwise, the lines usually aren't too long and service is very quick-- overall, i'd recommend if you're close by, in a hurry, and looking for a quick and convenient breakfast stop.

Vishnu G.

Yelp
This is a good option for bagels. I have ordered from here a few times, and I especially liked the black Russian bagel. It wasn't too dry after being toasted, and the vegetable cream cheese was a nice accompaniment.

Ashlea C.

Yelp
This was the first bagel shop we stopped at! I'm glad we did & I loved that it was so close to where we stayed. The bagels were so delicious & not overly dense which seems to be a commonality with bagels in general. I got the everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. It was so good, I'm still thinking about it lol! I was with my family and everyone else loved what they got as well! My toddler even ate a good amount of the bagel & she's usually picky haha!

Steph W.

Yelp
Has consistently provided fresh, warm, pillowy bagels. By comparing neighborhood options, this place has delivered and I am revising to bump up to 5 stars.

D B.

Yelp
OVERCHARGED 2x!!! Ordered tuna & tomato on a plain bagel 2 days in a row. The menu stated the price as $8.75, but I was charged $9.50 the first time, & then $10 the next day for the exact same order!! UNACCEPTABLE & I will not return.

Steve A.

Yelp
Bagels here. It also has other food and sandwiches. NY Jumbo Bagels is pretty okay. Gets busy. The prices are average for this kind of thing. Fresh bagels. It smells so good. They really are jumbo size. Lots of good flavor. They aren't too crispy with a good amount of softness. It's about $5 for a bagel with a spread, like the many kinds of cream cheese. They didn't have any of the tofu vegan kind you see at so many other bag places though. It does have peanut butter. This is good on a toasted bagel, so it melts it. If you're looking for more of a meal, you can get one of the sandwiches which include things like eggs. These look like they can cause a few heart attacks but people apparently love these. It doesn't have much room inside. Outside there's not even any tables. This means plan on eating it along the way.

Akshita P.

Yelp
Epitome of a New York Bagel‼ Quick service, fair prices, and good portion. I got a toasted whole wheat everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, nova lox, tomato and onion and it was to die for.

Rainey C.

Yelp
Got the pumpernickel bagel with LEO (lox, eggs, and onions) and was a pretty solid bagel. I thought the bagel itself was really chewy and jumbo (lives up to its name!), but wish there was more lox in the filling. Was about $8, which is pretty standard for any NY bagel spot (for a breakfast bagel). Would come back if I was in the area, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Allyson W.

Yelp
Skip Essabagel line and come here. Authentic New York style sandwiches and bagels. Quick and easy service.

Vanesa H.

Yelp
Love NY Jumbo bagels. I fell off the bagel wagon a few years back but eating one recently made me reminisce about just how good NY bagels are. The cinnamon raisin was dense and chewy, with a strong skin for crunch and a generous dose of raisins. I went a bit hog-wild and also tried bites of the sesame and plain. This is carbo-loading in its most perfect form. Also perfect were the cream cheeses. I'm generally not a fan of cream cheese (if I had to pick a perfect bagel topping, I'd go with either hummus or guacamole ... yes, I know). But the ones here were velvety smooth: I was especially partial to the brown sugar maple one, as well as the version with flecks of scallion.

Sydney T.

Yelp
My partner and I kind of stumbled upon this place. Our initial plan was to check out Ess-A-Bagel because it was recommended as a "must-go". Ess-A-Bagel had a LONG line, similar to the line for Russ & Daughters (between 45-60 minute wait). We decided to check out a local bagel shop instead of waiting in line for the hyped shops. I'm really glad we opted for this shop. The bagel's texture hinted that it had properly risen. It wasn't dense, and there were air pockets. The person who helped us added lots of cream cheese and they loaded up on the lox. AMAZING. We forgot to ask for the bagel to be toasted so it was a bit tougher, but it was still a great bagel! And only $13!

Sabrina P.

Yelp
Best bagels in all of NYC. Truly the best! My go-to is the everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and if I want something more filling I go with a bacon-egg-and cheese on an everything bagel toasted. I recommend ordering pick up through Seamless, as the place (no surprise) gets crowded on weekend mornings/early afternoons. Friendly staff - I come here almost every week and so do both of my roommates! Thank you, Jumbo!

Andrew S.

Yelp
First, I am the definition of a bagel snob. Ess-a, H&H, Russ & Daughters, Frankels, bagel point, have a bagel, angel, black seed, etc etc. jumbo bagel is hands down the best bagel in New York (and if you disagree please tell me where you go so I can go too). The owner and team there have always treated me with kindness and respect. They got smashed by the pandemic (running a deli in midtown east when nobody goes to the office anymore is damn hard). But they are still doing their thing - amazing bagels, nova, tuna, etc. been coming here for 10 years and expect to keep coming back forever

Marianne W.

Yelp
NY Jumbo Bagels is absolutely Five Stars. It's really busy but the line moves fast with three or four employees behind the counter. There's outside seating only. I didn't have trouble getting a seat at around 10am. I did my homework checking the menu before I arrived. I knew I wanted their Russian Pumpernickel Bagel with plain Cream Cheese for my lunch today. It was ready fast and only $4.25! I enjoyed the moist plump bagel with the delicious pumpernickel taste so much I went back inside and bought two more to take home for my freezer. They were $1.25 each which is less than my bagel shop on the Upper East Side. I've decided before winter I'll return again to get a variety of bagels to freeze for the winter. If you're looking for atmosphere forget it. If you want old school bagels that are made on the premises, this is the place. They're made fresh daily, jumbo, plump and the Russian Pumpernickel is now on top of my list of favorites! The Cream Cheese was creamy and dripping everywhere. I think I had it in my hair as I tried to push my hair back from the wind blowing outside! I enjoyed the whipped style cream cheese for a change. I'm recommending as long as you don't expect a seat every visit. Get there early.

Cindy K.

Yelp
Decent bagel, lots of cream cheese and lots of lox. My partner and I found this place to grab a bagel after seeing the ridiculously long line at Ess-a-bagel a couple blocks down. We have no regrets. We split 1 between the both of us, and it was just the right amount. It was still a bit pricey at $13, but well worth it for the quality and quantity of cream cheese and salmon. Bagel itself looked properly risen with a good crust, texture was good. Couple of tips: - It might look busy from outside / have a long line. But the line moves fast. So don't let that deter you! - If you don't want to wait in line for Ess-a-bagel, come here instead! I bet the quality is better anyway. - They have a few tables (small though) outside if you want to sit and eat - Ask for the bagel toasted

Zach F.

Yelp
Kept it simple with a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with butter and it was excelled. Crispy outside, soft and chewy inside. Large, fresh bagels. Can't go wrong here!

Karlene J.

Yelp
A friend and I ordered bagels with cream cheese and coffees to go. When we arrived, our order was ready. There was seating available outside, so we decided to pause and leisurely consume. The bagels were delicious; toasted just right. The coffee was strong and made just the way we wanted. We would recommend this spot. Tip: The line was long when we got there, so we were glad we had placed our order ahead of time.

Jimmy Y.

Yelp
I just recently moved in to the nigh or hood and am thrilled to discover the best bagels in NYC! great service they're always quick and very kind while helping you. I am excited to continue going here to eat

Jordan G.

Yelp
This is my favorite bagel place in NYC! I always get a sesame bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. The out side has the perfect crunch and the middle if soft and chewy! The staff is always so friendly! I love it here!

Charlie P.

Yelp
Laid back and very good value! Skip the big name spots and head here! Quick service, friendly staff, worth the walk.

Nora C.

Yelp
NY Jumbo Bagels Ratings: 4.3/5 Food: 4.5/5 - Fresh bagels for sure, more amazing when toasted. The bagels are fluffy, soft on the inside with a crispy crunch on the outer layer with lots of flavors. The whole wheat everything bagel is covered in a good amount of seasonings too. This place by far beats "Pick-A-Bagel" and can compete with other "well-known" bagel place such as Tompkins, Zucker's, etc. I would say it's a hidden gem and go give it a try. Ambiance: 4.25/5 - Inside is small wit not much room inside, probably like 2 tables to dine-in, however there are some outdoor dining available. This place gave a very hole-in-the-wall type of vibe, mom and pop shop for sure. You can also see in the back that they are making fresh bagels. Price: 4/5 - The breakfast sandwich, LEO came up to be around $8 after tax. Thought it was relatively reasonable for a lox and egg bagel sandwich in NYC. A big plus is that they replaced the egg to egg whites for me without additional charge, that's rare in NYC for sure. Service: 4.5/5 - Good service. Staffs are friendly, nice, attentive, and most importantly they seem to know what they were doing and fast. My bagel order came out relatively fast, and my order was correct. BLUF: Perfect place to satisfied your bagel cravings, especially fluffy, soft, and chewy bagels. Nice people. High quality bagels. Super satisfied.

Kai H.

Yelp
Awesome bagels. If you're looking for a cream cheese alternative - their tofu cream cheese is amazing. I'm not sure how they do it but the consistency and flavor is so good you would never know it's not the real thing. Ate here every morning while visiting NYC! Fast, reliable, and delicious

Robert R.

Yelp
if i could give it a zero, i would. this place is terrible to order from. i ordered a pastrami hero with swiss cheese and it came without the cheese and with lettuce and tomato. i ordered 1/2 lb of whitefish and it was not included. whoever answered the phone there dismissed my complaint and told me to call delivery.com. they refused to do anything to correct the order

Gloria T.

Yelp
Its time to find a different bagel shop for me and my coworkers. This place isnt bad but not the greatest. What we cant stand and cant believe they do is keep changing their prices!! It is not consistant. As of today, a bagel with cream cheese is $4.75. It is a reg plain bagel with cream cheese and it cost the amount of a flavor cream cheese. WTH. They also have a sign that if you pay by credit card, they charge a fee. Ridiculous! Today is our last day at this bagel shop. It was horrible of you to rob our money after so much business we give you. Everyone deserves better and not to be ripped off of our hard earned money. Overall, not coming back here.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Nice people, but the bagels leave a lot to be desired. The seeds do not stick to the bagel which is extremely annoying. I wish I would have taken the time to go to my usual Ess a bagel or best bagels and coffee.

Ellen P.

Yelp
New favorite bagel spot because the bagels are always light and chewy and the fillings are fresh and just the right amount for the size of the bagel. I've gotten the Leo (lox mixed into egg), beef bacon egg and cheese, lox and scallion cream cheese (always w capers) ($12.50) , and light veggie tuna ($7.50). All delicious and filling so you can't go wrong here. Plus, the staff is friendly and patient. They have three two-person outdoor seating set up, too.

Raphael P.

Yelp
Upgrading NY Jumbo Bagel from 3 stars to 5 stars. This is by far the best bagel in the area and is only rivaled by the "famous" places like Tompkins and Leo's. My first impression was not the best but I went back and had a positive experience and now go at least a couple times a month. The bagels are fluffy and beyond superb when toasted. Not too much filler in the middle. Get the sausage egg and cheese over bacon and thank me later.

Lindsay E.

Yelp
10/10 bagels, perhaps the best I've had in my past 5 years living in NYC. Come early for the best ones! Very kind (and efficient!) workers as well - don't let a line scare you away.

Anne B.

Yelp
Delicious! Plenty of varieties of both bagels and cream cheese flavors to choose from.

Nia A.

Yelp
Best bagels in this area -- hands down! Do not let the line scare you away as it moves fast. The bagels are sweet and flavorful in taste, and always toasted to perfection. I've never been disappointed with a bagel from NY Jumbo Bagels.

Austin S.

Yelp
My absolute favorite bagel place in the city. My favorite is their bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I got the sausage egg n cheese once and was surprised bc it's kielbasa sausage. Bagels are incredible. I go here a few times a month.

Anna M.

Yelp
Realiably good bagel- not too big that you can't finish it. Grab on my way to work easy peasy

Antoine L.

Yelp
if you are a New Yorker, born and raised, you will know what I'm talkin about. I am talking about bagels, hand rolled and boiled prior to baking, crisp on the outside and warm out of the oven. Never toasted, eaten plain or simply dressed with a schmear or perhaps some nova and a schmear if you are feeling flush. Forget the salads, meats etc. You come here for fresh bagels. If that is what you are seeking this is the place. Been here 40 years. Thank goodness they reopened after the fire because otherwise you would have to venture outside of Manhattan, likely to Brooklyn, Queens or Long Island, to still find a place like this.

Marissa H.

Yelp
THE PRICES ARE INCREDIBLE! Compared to ess-a-bagel and russ&daughters, it isn't as famous but it's a great place if you are craving a solid NY bagel without the line. I got the LEO breakfast special (lox, egg, onion) on an everything bagel toasted and it was extremely fresh and warm! I loved how it was warm and everything was mixed in (i was shocked since I thought it would be cold lox, a fried egg, and raw onion). I definitely would have added some cream cheese.

Roger U.

Yelp
Four stars for the bagels, an extra because Jumbo gets the important things in life.

Zack G.

Yelp
Pretty solid little bagel shop and deli with a bunch of different pastry options as well as bagel types. The employees were very friendly

Jessica V.

Yelp
Some of the best bagels I've had in a while! For NYC the bagels are reasonably priced and perfectly cooked! They are fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They have so many bagel options, spreads, and sandwich options. If you are in the area, this is the bagel store you MUST try.

Sydney S.

Yelp
This place was tasty! They had some tables out front so we could eat at this spot which was nice. I don't know how much longer we're going to want to eat outside but it's a nice option! They had a great assortment of bagels and cream cheese flavors. I'm going to have to go back in to try the "Super Egg" bagel...it was out of stock when I went in! My boyfriend loved his bagel sandwich and said it was super filling. We love a filling meal for ~$5
