NY Tracks Cafe

My absolute favorite place to go dancing on Wednesday cause I love ploge Wednesday. The konpa music and there dj is really good. There drinks are delicious. The food is absolutely stunning. I love getting there griot with the plantain or with fries. That’s usually what I buy every time I also get a rum punch to go with it. I also love the vibes I get from everyone that comes to dance here. Staff is also super friendly.

The griot was amazing, plantains and pikliz went well with it and made the value of the meal that was already high due to the delicious pork that was tender and nicely fatty, skyrocket. Drink selection was nice as well there's a drink for everyone as every bar should have. Nice atmosphere as well only minus for me is strictly personal. Other than that could easily get to 5 stars and another visit from me.

The vibe was really nice. My boyfriend and I loved the new look. The Dj that was there had a little poor taste in words but the music was pretty good. My bartender rocked. She made me the best Mai Tai. I have had them before and noone ever made them so good. I also used to bartender so I'm always making sure my drink is good. It was on point. I definitely will visit again. There wasn't much of a crowd this time but I think with some marketing and events things will pick up.

Paid 10 dollars to the bouncer because I didn’t have my id, paid another to get in …. SMH!! Absolutely regretted I had one drink and it made me sick, nobody wasn’t even dancing and it’s nothing but smoke all over the place!! I should have listened to the guy next door at the other bar. He told me not to go in there!!!

The dj was good the music was good. The drinks were way overpriced for drinks that came in plastic cups and weren't made properly and for the same drinks the price kept changing I ordered 2 patron margaritas and it was $28 then went back ordered 2 more it was $29 the last 2 cost me $30 mind you these were drinks in plastic cups also the crowd was uneven way more guys than girls

Very sociable environment....food is good ....different nights of fun from comedy...karaoke...and crazy party nightlife. Music varies from Top 40...dancehall...hip hop...r&b and POP depending on the night. Great staff too....and they have hookah....best place in Brooklyn to have a night out with friends and colleagues.

Rnb and Gouyad Wednesdays by Markietoofresh was a nice vibe. I wish the Dj played dome of the classics though. Good looking crowd mixed ages. Drinks are not too bad but watch out for that service fee; and It was appplied twice when it's supposed to be for a single transaction not for each drink. Nice space. I see they serve food so I will definitely try some next time. I like that it's in Brooklyn so I don't have to travel too far to hear some kompas. (Haitian music)

Don't bother to come here. First off, we went there and EVERY table had a reserved sign on it. And the ones that didn't, we were told later on in the night that they needed another table to add to a group table. So my group had to bunch together. The first set of drinks we had were great. The second round, one of the drinks tasted like it had roach spray in it. Seeing as how I was trying to do better with my temper Ichose to remain silent until others were ready to leave. But I promise before I come here again, I will enjoy the comfort of my home.

This place is good for large groups or drinks with a few friends. They have a full bar with cocktails but also can pretty much make any mixed drink. I had Henny n coke but a lot of people we're ordering the rum punch which looked really yummy. They serve food. But it's a simple menu. Salad options. Wings that can be tossed in an array of sauces, french fries. Typical bar food. And they have some other entree selections. On weekends it's great for music and dancing. A great mix of soca, reggae, and a lot of the hits. When I went the age limit was 23 and older to get in. I went on a Sunday. They have a few TV's on the wall but they had it on MTV. A little weird. Watching 90s rock music videos without the sound. Lots of head banging, hair flips, and baggy pants. It was pretty empty yesterday. We ordered the wings with a mango sauce and fries. Fries were okay. Tasty. Nothing special. But the wing sauce was sweet with a little heat. I wasn't really a fan of it. I think I would've preferred buffalo or jerk, or just plain old fried but what got me was that the chicken was undercooked. I was biting into the drumstick and the chicken was kind of rubbery which is a no no. It definitely needed more time in the fryer. I don't mess with undercooked chicken. I'd definitely go back there again for the great music, dancing with friends and strong and moderately priced drinks.

Ahhh tracks. One of my favorite places to have a love-hate relationship with. It recently said on yelp that it was permanently closed but since I was standing inside the lounge while looking at yelp, clearly that wasn't true. But maybe they were closed and reopened? Anyway, I've been coming to tracks for some years now and it's consistently been a spot that's GREAT for if you want to hear good and consistent Caribbean music (reggae, soca, calypso, etc). Music wise, tracks is at the top of the game on weekends. DJ starts with old school and hip hop and then the Caribbean music starts and the place turns up! It's usually ladies free before 12, and $20 after with guys paying $20 all night. The drinks here are really good and inexpensive. My friend paid $10 for a shot of Henny. I paid the same for a jack and ginger. Super cheap! I will also say that the bartenders are friendly and some are heavy handed if you catch my drift. Where Tracks falls short is everything customer service related. Sometimes the door ppl are nice, other times I've seen them be extremely rude. The bottle girls/waitresses are no better. I recently went early, around 11pm and most of the tables had reserved signs except for a few 2 seaters, which my group sat at bcuz it was EMPTY in there. Bottle girl comes and reiterates that the table is only for 2 and we can't sit at the one behind us. Ok, we got it. Never did she say that she would kick us out the table if someone else comes. Fast forward and hour or 2 later, and she comes to ask us to move because someone bought a bottle. Mind you, we had just purchased a big hookah that was sitting on the table. Her solution? That we share another table with some strangers. Literally made us move our stuff and hookah to a random table already occupied by a group smh. And no apology or anything, especially since she never moved the group of Latina girls behind us who also had only hookah and no bottles. Later in the night, security knocked our hookah over while escorting someone out and the hookah woman tried to say she wouldn't replace it, even though it was their Security. At that point I was already annoyed and wasn't gonna move until she agreed to replace it. Moral of the story, go to tracks for music and drinks but don't expect A1 customer service or even respect from some of the ppl there.

Hookah, drinks, bottle service, good music. That's all my crew and I needed to have a good night. Celebrated my besties and close friend 30th birthdays and we had no problem whatsoever. I liked the security guards at the door as well. The young ladies doing hookah and bottle service were nice and helped us with anything we asked for. Good spot. Oh and don't worry- the crowd builds up around 12/1 am and then it gets really turnt.

So Tracks Cafe... I live so close to this place for years but this was my first time there. My friend was celebrating her birthday. It was a small group of us. We got there close to 1am. There was a $20 cover to get in for everyone. They pat you down and check your bag. Didn't really seem like there was a dress code. Some people dressed up and some were dressed all the way down. The inside is bigger than it looks on the outside. We were able to get a small table after about half hours when I couple of people left. The music was pretty good and some people were dancing. Only had the wings and fries to eat and they were fine. They also have hookah. The drinks were just okay. Not sure if I would return, maybe if I didn't have to pay a cover.

Tracks is a cultural gem to the West Indian community; I have been going to Tracks for many years and seen many Reggae,Soca artist perform. Drinks and hookah are ok and I would recommend that that staff become more engaged with its clients so you don't have to seek them out when you need a drink and/or anything else. Tracks also have a newer,second location call Round Two thats more updated .

I'm actually quite surprised how much this place has changed. The first time I came here, it was about 3-5 years ago. It was so dark and dingy in there. I was scared and did not feel comfortable at all! Now, fast-forward. I've recently been back at the beginning of September for my friend's surprise bday party. I was literally in shock to how Tracks has cleaned itself up. It was a complete makeover. It actually reminded me of Fisheye, down the road. The new decor is of New Yorker Chic with ghetto fabulous twinged in it. I say ghetto, for the fact that there was something weird going on in the back near the bathrooms. It was like the ceiling dropped 5 feet so they could add an upstairs area. Nonetheless, I was impressed from what my first true experience was. Since this place is in the neighborhood, I can see it as my new home bar. Sometimes it just gets tiring going into the city to get a drink. I can just walk a few minutes and enjoy. PS there mac and cheese were on point. It was a bit on the salty side, but I was a happy camper, for $3, hell yes!

This venue is very congested and small. Wasn't fond with my experience here despite hearing such great things.

So the employees are awesome!!! But the dj is a literal asshole. Who ever the in the world he thinks he is has no clue about getting a crowd up. I do have to say again the bartenders are amazing but please do not come here and expect good music especially with the asshole djs they hire.

I got to enjoy the atmosphere as me and a acquaintance went there on a week night and enjoyed the $5 food and drink specials. The waiter was so kind and gracious. The dj played fabolous music and this place has a dance floor and VIP sections where patrons can hang out at their leaisure. The drinks and food were good. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy food and drinks on a budget.

I was in the mood for ratchetry and my Wednesday night led me to Tracks. Venue is laid out nicely, feels more like a club that serves food rather than a restaurant with a bar/lounge, which is cool of that's what they're going for. My server say me upstairs which I liked because I was out of the way of the mix but in a great spot for ppl watching. Rum punch was nice, can't have ratchet without your drinks in plastic cups!!!! Lol and I mean ratchet in a good way. It was a good balance of ratchet and chill, I didn't feel like a fight was brewing and the crowd wasn't stush. Might go back if the wind blew me that way. I was apprehensive about trying the food, maybe next time. But if you're looking for West Indian vibes I would suggest giving this place a try.

Celebrated a birthday here on Friday 11/14, WHAT A GREAT TIME. the music was awesome, we did a bottle package, my girlfriends and i never stopped dancing. The wait service was pleasant, the finger food was awesome, to help maintain all the liquor we were about to consume. Hookah's were $30, a great price compared to spots in the city. Tracks was definitley a GREAT TIME, cant wait to come back.

Gave this place several chances because one of my friends loves the music , but the service is terrible ! Tonight I was violated when patted down , it's a club this guards hand literally lifted my bra to check for weapons!!!??? Seriously ? Then the wait staff was rude , we spent lots of money here, but I will never be back !! Horrible horrible horrible ! Simply trashy

This review was for the first year they opened... Not sure how to delete from iPhone app I expected it to be a bad spot. Kinda is, but not not bad at all. Much better than the old Brooklyn clubs years ago.Trust that I avoid going to hood spots. However, if you looking for hip hop and reggae spot in bk, it's cool for that. The bar takes cards. They offer hookah, but hookah is cash only??? Turn off. An ATM is there, but it was usually empty when I went.. To get hookah, you had to go to a separate section approx 20ft from the bar. ATMs inside and around the corner were not good so they couldn't even give me a cash credit. I think I saw a sign that said $200 limit on CC.

Good vibes, great music. Drink was made perfectly, wasn't watered down, cost $8. I also had the chicken wings and fries which was good too. Our waitress was nice. Just what I needed on a Friday night.

Came here last night based on the reviews and there is nothing 5 star about this mediocre place. Every table was reserved but the place was empty. The DJ was good. After a rude encounter with the bar staff, they sat us upstairs. U can tell this place was not meant to have an upstairs but they tried. If your taller then 5"8 don't go up there. The seats were broken. The walls had holes. The waitress didn't come back until an hour later. At which time she told us the only food they have was anything fried. So wings and fries were all you were getting. You couldn't order frozen drinks or the fish bowls. After she told us that we left. Never again.

I miss fishbowl Tuesdays!!!! Definitely a fun spot to come to when you're looking for something local in Brooklyn with good food and huge drinks at extremely reasonable pricing. Didn't get a chance to dance as the night went on but hopefully I get the chance to fix that one day... Soon!

The drinks are usually on point but the food is just okay; I was never impressed when I ate here. The last time I came here was on a Thursday which was karaoke night and we had a good time! The only complaint was the service. One of the bartenders was extremely rude and nasty. Another time I came here, they ran out of practically everything we asked for and it was empty!! If I decide to visit this place again I will definitely eat elsewhere before coming here.

I went here last night and I had an amazinggggggg time. The drinks and food was good. They played a mixture of music which was great. Great atmosphere and it was a full house. I would definitely recommend this place to others only issue is that all the tables were reserved but it's a great place to go with friends or after work

I came here one Thursday night with my friend for Karoake night and had a good time. I couldnt believe how packed the place became for a weekday night. I didnt order a lot of food but had a mango dacqueri and wasnt impressed with the drink. The atmosphere and entertainment was cool and lively. I didnt venture to the stage to show my unskilled singing especially after hearing some of the other brave karoake singers. I was like dang these people can sing, is this American Idol or what. I would definitely return, my friend comes here frequently for the great music and party like atmosphere.

This place is very well opened. I' am here now and I do not know who thought that this was closed but....it is alive and kicking. Not really much my kind of environment but whatever. I' am here for a friend.

I went on a thursday night for karaoke, it was pretty early when I arrived (930pm) so karaoke didn't start for about an hour and a half (1100pm). My colleague met me at the bar, the drinks (wine) and the bar was nice, though we were served on plastic dishes. The food portions were very light so I wouldn't suggest going there on an empty stomach. My main gripe is that they actually need security, apparently there was a shooting there within the past couple of weeks. All in all, considering I know Canarsie, Mill Basin, and East Flatbush like the back of my hand, I REFUSE to EXPECT to get "searched" at a LOCAL BAR. Not only did I get searched when I first arrived, my colleague was NOT searched when she got there (before I did), AND I was given an ultimatum to either get searched or leave after exiting the "cafe" to make a phone call. When I advanced toward the front door to get my things from my seat (I had been seated near the front entrance),one of the bouncers grabbed the door handle where my hand was, thankfully I was unharmed. Along with bemoaning my use of Haitian Kreyol to express my frustration with the incident, the bouncers overall gave me a sense of unnecessary eagerness to perform a "search" a second time. Being that the bouncer saw my colleagues and I at the bar near the entrance, the place was not crowded, and I was within a few feet from all three bouncers on my phone, I felt that their actions (demanding to perform a so called search) were excessive. Karaoke was cute and gets pretty good after midnight from what I heard from other patrons. Apparently I was not impressed by the lack of professionalism in ensuring patrons safety and will not return or recommend Tracks Cafe to anyone for anything.

Went in and instantly wanted too leave too crowded cafe more like club. Not my cup of tea at all. I need room too breath when I go out

Great place to go and have a drink and listen to music. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you're in Brooklyn! Try the jerk wings too!

Tracks will always have a nice atmosphere nice Caribbean vibes and drinks, hookah, and food. Been coming here for almost 9 years and will still continue to come.

The Manager is very rude . Looks like a very dangerous, dark, shady space. I wouldn't recommend this place even if the drinks were free.

Only thing have to say, come here and try there rum punch fish bowl on a Tuesday!!!

The service on a Wednesday night 11:30-1:30 is spotty... Many people walked through the door--mostly posers... Ewww! Stay away, it's not worth the $$$.

Haven't been here in quite some time. But from what I can remember, it was fun. The food was good. I went when they were having fishbowl Tuesday's I believe. Me and my guest got wasted off of them! The staff was pretty good also. Oh, and because they had a party going on later that night, we decided to go early so we can find parking and get seated and eat without a crowd of people around the food. I'd recommend coming here.

This place is okay. The food is alright, and the drinks are whatever. It's a little pricey if you ask me for both the food and drinks for them to be just alright. They have hookah and play really good music. I mean, they go back, way back! Im talking swv, mariah carey old school, which is what i like the most. If you're looking for a place that plays good music and has drinks, this is an okay place to attend. It wouldnt be my first or second choice but its not terrible ! Believe they charge a fee for entry but i always get in free !

Good Jamaican food and karaoke on Thursday nights are a lot of fun. Service is slow sometimes but it's worth the wait.

Went there twice with my girls. both times I had a good time, no problems with the staff. If i wanted to party in Brooklyn at a Caribbean bar I would go again.

Went on a Thursday evening and had trouble finding or getting help with seating. When I did get seats for my party of three, the service from the bartender was horrible. The 2 Long Island ice teas were bad and saturated with alcohol... Usually not a bad thing except it taste disgusting. the solution to the bartender was to add more soda which really made no difference. The only reason I give one star is for the great food after a long wait and horrible service. More than likely never to return and I wish I had 4 hands to give more thumbs down!

Heyyy fellow Yelpers! Im back at it again with eating all the food and loving every minute of it. Came here with the bestie and had an AWESOME time!! Also came here with my boo cakes and had an equally AWESOME time. I have nothing bad to say about this place. It's a diamond in the rough. The food is fantabulous! The drinks are made with a good enough amount of liquor so that your getting your money's worth, but not feeling like a drunk in the process. When I went with my boo cakes, we danced and ordered drinks all night. Had such a great time! When I went with my bestie, we wanted a more low key place to hang after work. I ordered the Turkey burger and fries. Simple but delicious. Made me want to get another one. Their rum punch is one of the best ive ever tatsed with just the right amount of rum. The waitresses are friendly and the bartenders know how to mix a drink. The place used to be under different management. The were formerly called Mystic (I may have spelled that wrong). When I used to go under the old management there weren't many people there but the atmosphere was good and the food was great. New management has brought new business and this place is always active. Check it out when you get a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed!

I recently went here to celebrate an friends birthday. Overall I had an good time with the people I was with. As for the atmosphere that's an different story. So my friend had her own section (thank God) it's an small place so it get cramped pretty quickly. With her own section they provide bottle service, Chasers, hookah,Food & utensils. As the night goes by everything starts to pile up as for as garbage so you would think an employee would come around to clean up right? NOPE! The trash stays exactly where it is. I looked around for an trash can so I can do it myself but there wasn't one. Now for the dress code!! So although it's an little hole in the wall place it's still an nightclub so you would expect people especially WOMEN to dress up. Heels, Dress etc. To my surprise there were more women wearing $10 sandals than heels. Some wore sweatpants!! Girl, Literally sweatpants to an club!! Who does that? & the Men well ‍ They were there. Anyway the DJ was Great 1-10 I'll give him an 7-8. Everyone seemed to enjoy his tunes so that's an plus. I didn't try the food well honestly the entire platter was still sitting there by the end of the night untouched so I can't tell you if it was delicious or Not. But a whole platter of food for drunk people & no one touched it? You be the judge. Soo I don't think I'll go back here. Unless it's the same situation where someone is throwing an party. Hopefully they'll find an better place. Lol But Yeah, definitely not returning.

The best time as far as drinks , music, food. The security are money hungry mongols . Paid to have a VIP section ($$$$$),after i got my bottles n my food order never seen the waiter again. And to top things off every one on my VIP list had to pay to get in(6 people I already paid for). Fat fuck security man asked me the birthday girl to pay after I told him I was having a party there , I told him to check the list he had the nerve to tell me there was no list. Well I started to act up...all of a sudden he pulled a list out pocket (like magic he had a list). Then he said I couldn't get in unless I paid 3 dollars for coat check. Isn't coat check a option and courtesy , especially after spending near a thousand dollars in one night. My hard earned money will be going somewhere else .

Disgusting to say the least. A few coworkers and I went there for the very 1st time on Sunday and the experience was horrible. The way we were treated reminded all of us the reason why it's sometimes not worth it to support black businesses. The staff is extremely huge. To make matters worse, after we waiting 45 min to get our finger food, when the time came to pay the bill they wouldn't accept multiple cards for a group of 6. Even after we had presented them with 2 cards they refused payment and asked for some to be cash and the remainder on the card. We're talking about over $200 tab. Nasty nasty nasty. The Manager who spoke to us definitely has no sense of customer service yet along people skills. The owner usually does business at our place of work. Can wait to bump into them and tell them about our horrible experience. The one star is only because I must do so to write the review but best believe they don't deserve ANY

I came here for the Easter Brunch (brunchandlime). I have to say it was not what I expected at all. We ordered the jerk shrimp and grits, which were too expensive ($18) for where we were. We were extremely disappointed in the lumpy and runny grits that we were served. I know that jerk is supposed to be spicy but it should not be so spicy that after the first bite of shrimp you are about to choke! We had a large bowl of runny and soggy grits with a few pieces of shrimp. I follow the chef on Instagram and believed that with the beautiful pictures of her creations that she would be a top-notch chef. I was wrong!! She hypes up herself a lot and I was fooled. I will probably never go there again.

On Dec 4th 2015 Went out to celebrate my best friend's 30th birthday. Had a blast, however at approximately 3a while sitting in my best friend's car (which was parked right in front of Tracks) waiting for her and our companions to come out the cafe, a young man fired shots into the ground, it somehow hit a bystander. At first it was somewhat of a joke because the shot sounded like fire works, only when i saw the silver pistol and the sparks that hit the ground, along with everyone running for their lives. I locked eyes with the gun man, for sure I should have been hit or if he aimed and fired "I was done". Immediately, I thought nothing else but to duck my entire body over passenger's side. Literally, few seconds when i looked back up security got everyone back inside, all for this one young man (had sleeve tattoos) was limping back to his car, where he had double parked next to me with his car door already opened. For a split second it was just him and I outside Tracks. When he sat into his car (driver's seat), to my dismay he was bleeding through his jeans, groin area. Immediately, I tried to get his belt to use as a tourniquet, we went from having a conversation to keep him calm and just like that he went limp. I tried feeling for a pulse (barely felt a pulse) . While holding deep pressure on his groin, IN DEEEEEP panick, I've never been so scared in my entire existence, fumbled to get my phone in my jacket pocket called 911, and stayed holding pressure with this unconscious stranger the whole time. Ambulance came in record time, pulled him out of his car and revived him.... I will NEVER go back to Tracks. Apparently, if i had done my research I would have known that this is a normal encounter at Tracks.

Went here recently and really enjoyed myself. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The food was pretty good also and you get a nice portion size for your money. My only complaint was that the music (although the DJ was on point) was a little too loud. It was nearly impossible to hear my friend screaming right next to me and we basically had to rely on lip reading to figure out what was going on.

Was pretty good considrering it was my first time their.I was mainly their for the hookah and it was suprisingly cheap.Great selection of food and go again.

I cant understand for the life of me what all the raves are all about. This place totally sucks!!!! Indeed the food isn't all that bad, its eatable. However the service sucks. when i tried to explain to management that our service wasn't up to par for a restaurant that wasn't busy, this guy was more interested in drinking at the bar with his friends. Word of advice,get back to customer service and stop prancing around like some rico suave. Waiting an hour for food in an empty place doesn't work for me.
