O B Donuts

Great donuts, great service! Some of the comments say it's cash only, but I paid with card (and it was an extremely good deal/great price)! I love a coconut donut, and the coconut donut here was easily the best I've ever had. Definitely coming back again soon. Update: been back two more times now, donuts + service have been impeccable and amazing every time. Love this place

Welcoming, fast, and excellent service. My daughter initially requested a sprinkle donut and after we paid, she requested a donut with no sprinkles. They were so kind that they didn't accept payment for the additional donut The food was also quite good with delightful donuts and a great breakfast bagel

The best establishment in all of OB! These donuts 🍩 are unbelievable. Also great bagel breakfast sandwiches. Gives Desperado Bagels a run for their money 😉 . Staff is so nice too. I love OB Donuts 🍩

A small unassuming shop that has the best glazed donuts and breakfast sandwiches. We arrived mid-morning so pretty quiet but I expect the line can easily be out the door during rush hours. It threw me for a little bit of a loop that it’s CASH ONLY as I don’t generally carry much cash but it’s clearly stated on the wall by the register and they do have an ATM machine in the corner. It’s worth a trip, give it a try.

The service is amazing and the food has a GREAT value. I had a donut and it is so good. The location is very nice because it is near the beach 🏖️. I would definitely come here because the prices are cheap compared to the quality of the food.

I've been going to this donut shop since I was little & Im 25 now; so happy to see this place stay after so long! Honestly one of my favorite places to get donuts along with Christie's(?) Donuts across from the PL Library. It's a 5ish minute walk from my house & the staff if always so friendly & welcoming. The donuts are always good & always fresh. If you come early enough in the morning they'll give you couple free donut holes. Not much else I can say really but this place is just the best place to go for donuts & friendliness :)

accidentally went here instead of cliffs cafe which is next door and i was not dissapointed! the bacon egg and cheese on a bagel was way better. so flavorful and delicious for only $6. they even gave us a free donut! hole in the wall family business vibes (it is cash only)

This place has been a favorite since living in the OB/Point Loma area. Now that we've moved we make a point to come back and partake of a local business. Although donuts are in the name, it's the bagel sandwiches you want. The #4 double sided breakfast bagel is so good. If you're wanting something lighter, the #6 is a modest tomato on bagel with seasoning. The people are always friendly and nice- sometime we would roll in at 11am and there are still donuts to choose from. It's quaint and small- they accept credit cards now and have iced coffee! The "OB Special" is Vietnamese coffee soooo good.

Got a dozen of these, everyone at work loved them. They are not the fancy type donuts with specialty flavors and what not, but for your standard donuts shop they are one of the best. Very soft yet a little dense, they are moist inside and have a little crisp outside. For standard donuts they are the one of the best, tied for first I think. Friendly staff, they even threw in a few doughnut holes when I got a dozen!

A cute spot and lots of different donuts to choose from here. Later mornings can get to be a bit busy, but the glazed donuts we got were so soft and delicious, they almost melted in your mouth.

Standard little unassuming donut shop with a myriad of fresh pastries. The gentleman working the counter (which he may have been the only one there, it's a small place, so I can't imagine there being a whole crew) was SO sweet & friendly. It was hard to pick what I wanted.. so naturally I just got a little bit of everything, and just like others Yelpers mentioned, he threw in some free donut holes. The blueberry scone was equally as good and blueberry-packed as everyone else has said, so I won't spend much time on it, but you should absolutely get one if you like blueberries. Perfect light texture. Not too sweet. Just delicious. Not picture - strawberry cream cheese danish. Wow. This is thing so flaky and delicate but doesn't crumble ON you? Don't know how they pulled that off because that's a feat in and of itself. The ham and cheese croissant -- mother of god that thing is a beast! It should be its own unit of measurement. It's SO good. I got mine warmed, and ate some of it out front of the shop, and honestly I think my day is better because of it. The flakiness & butteriness, yet somehow still light, is pure magic. Whatever cheese they put in it (definitely not Swiss, maybe white American?) is super creamy. 12/10, definitely stop in!

MUST TRY!! Unassuming spot that sells the BEST donuts. I lived in the neighborhood for two months and had a donut almost everyday. All the donuts are so fluffy! The place is cash only.

This place is amazing, fresh bagels, cake donuts fluffy ones fritters they're all amazing and being graded by an "I don't eat donuts" person unless they arrive at work to celebrate something or say sorry today sucks here's a donut haha but this place is great been sneaking into my heart for the past three years

Cute little place in OB. I had accidentally went here instead of the Cliffs Cafe but it didn't disappoint! donut was amazing but the bagel was... not my cup of tea. workers were so kind tho!

This place is a gem! The guy working who I'm guessing is the owner is so nice and threw in a couple of donut holes for free. We had the #3 breakfast sandwich and grabbed a few donuts. They were so fresh and light and absolutely delicious. It's cash only and dog friendly.

Consistent quality in really fresh soft and chewy donuts. We typically get a glazed twist, which is our favorite as well as a chocolate twist, which I wish I had glazed on it as well. The blueberry scone is always amazing because it has tons of blueberries, a nice crust, and not too sweet. This morning, for the first time since I've been going here for years, there were no donut holes given with our order, which they usually have. Not sure if OB donuts stopped giving to 3 free donut holes with every order or if it ran out this morning.

Wow. Crazy good. Service was great, the donuts were spectacular and they even threw in a bonus donut with our order.

Fresh donuts made daily! They have a great variety, but also offer breakfast sandwiches too. The service was great; the cashier asked what we were looking for and gave good recommendations. Some seating inside, but also a couple tables outside as well. Only downside was it's cash only, but not a huge deal.

Waiting to try a breakfast sandwich, but my Choc old fashioned and croissants hit the spot. Friendly and busy at 9 am. Cash only and some seating outside. Pastries were a bit dense and not as flaky as you are expecting just FYI. Table's definitely need to be tended to for customers to sit and feel comfortable but I think the busy counter staff just don't have extra time.

Their bagels and omits are absolutely delicious!! This is a very small, quaint place. Cash only. A couple out door seating 3 tables inside seating. Takes a little time to get your bagel but we'll worth it. This is definitely a favorite! On the corner of Niagara and sunset cliffs OC of course

Oh my god, we stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading into the city and cannot describe how good of any experience we had! Walked into and browsed the menu while the girl behind the counter waited patiently. Answered any questions we had with a smile behind her mask. Ultimately split a bacon, egg, and cheese on everything and two donuts with my fiance. Also added a Kona coffee - which was amazing! Piping hot and the flavor was superb. All this, plus a bottle of water for under $15 - what?! Waited about 5 min for our bagel sando to be prepared and inhaled the donuts while we waited. They were so good. Girl behind the counter also threw in two glazed donut holes which was a nice surprise (they were also light and fluffy, not dense and stale like the donut holes of lesser establishments). Grabbed out sando and an outside table to enjoy it at. When I tell you it was phenomenal, I am not kidding. Everything bagel was perfectly toasted and had just the right about of "everything" on it. Egg was soft and fluffy, bacon was CRISPY (and there was two layers of it on the sandwich) and the cheese was ooey gooey and delicious. My fiance loved it so much, he ate his half then ordered another one and ate that whole thing too! The line out the door tells you everything you need to know about this spot and you will not regret stopping in for breakfast!

OB Donuts is that special local donut spot that only San Diegans know about and after you go we can laugh together now that you are in the inside. Enjoy your fresh donuts! The owner was so legit he hooked us up with a few free donut holes, what a legend. Don't sleep on their bagels.

Cash only. The chocolate tastes like a cheap chocolate. The maple had a different color and light maple taste. The jellys and glazed donuts were awesome.

Always delicious and fresh with great selection. The blueberry scone is loaded with blueberries! So good and not too sweet.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. The best fluffy donuts you will ever eat. Their bagel breakfast sandwiches are also the very best. A cool little treat is they usually toss a few donut holes in your bagel bag when you check out. My fav donut place....anywhere. Coffee is also great. Looks like a family run spot. Support the OB locals.

We made multiple trips to OB donuts while on vacation. They have a large variety of yummy donuts, bagles, and croissants. The only drawback I saw was that they are cash only. There is an ATM on site if needed.

Had three different donuts and I really don't know which one was the best. But after spending a week in the donut capital of the world, Los Angeles, I will say I found my favorite at OB Donuts in San Diego. Can't wait to get back. Just remember, cash only

No doubt the best donut shop in San Diego. I've been coming here frequently ever since I was a little kid, and let me tell you, this place is seriously good. The donuts are premium quality and beautifully sweet. My personal favorite is the chocolate bar! BUT, my absolute #1 favorite food in the world is their breakfast sandwich, the #2. It is truly THE PERFECT way to start your morning! Additionally, the staff is extremely kind and welcoming. One time I forgot to take my change and the nice woman I payed came out to my car to give me my change. These people are so awesome, just like this place. If Yelp allowed, I'd give OB Donuts a 10/5.

Yeng Family is the model of refugees turned entrepreneur. This family from Hmong region of Vietnam have been up at 3a since 1987 to deliver the best donuts , raisin rolls, bagels and now 10 breakfasts. This was the launch pad for OB Noodles, 1502 and Skrewball. Hope they one day square up with its first fan David Wells.

The best donuts and fun variety! Such a cute local owned shop. The bagel sandwiches are so amazing too. The prices are so cheap for what you get too. Plus they always have the friendliest staff when we come in. It's always a must stop when we visit. Can't wait to come back.

This place was amazing! The bagel was so good and I got two donut holes for free (which were literally the best donuts I've ever had). I don't normally leave reviews but felt like I needed to for this place. I live austin so I will be sad to not have this place around

I used to live around the corner from here, and my roommate loved their donuts. I never went because work always seemed to have an endless supply of donuts, so I never went out of my way to get any. During the pandemic, with work from home, I've found myself getting donuts more than any kind other kind of takeout. OB Donuts did not disappoint. Yeast donuts were the fluffiest! During our few minutes inside perusing the donut selection, it was a constant in and out of regulars who ordered donuts and breakfast sandwiches. They definitely have a quick efficient system down. And unlike many businesses I have come across who are lax on their masks staying above their nose, everyone in the shop had a tightly secured mask. I'll be back!

If you are looking for donuts or baked goods in the OB area don't even hesitate. My boyfriend grabbed a box of assorted baked goods and every single one of them was outstanding. They're great sizes too, shareable so you can get a few, cut them up and try a variety. All super fresh and soft. We've been picking at them since we got them yesterday morning and they're still just as fresh today. I would have posted a pic of the assortment but we dug into them as soon as the box hit the counter top..Great spot :) Ordered: Strawberry sprinkle donut Chocolate frosted donut Blueberry scone Apple fritter Cinnamon glazed donut And they threw in a few munchkins, much appreciated :)

I have been visiting this business for more than 30 years. They are consistently excellent and a great stop for fresh delicious donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Highly recommend them.

So, my boyfriend and I go to so many different dessert places that there's not many that stand out. This is definitely one of them though. We got an apple fritter, a maple crunch, and an old fashioned. We've eaten a lot of donuts... a lot. And these topped just about every one we've ever had. They're so light and airy. They have the absolute perfect texture! Down sides are there's limited parking nearby since it's so close to a beach and they only accept cash. But the donuts are super cheap so you're likely to find enough coins in your purse to scrape together enough to buy one of these. Amazing!

I loved the Kona coffee flavor as it was mild yet rich in taste. I forgot how good coffee tasted with just cream and sugar. However, I wished they had flavored syrups. My croissant was very tasty. I had the number one with bacon, ham and asked for American cheese versus the Swiss. The croissant was buttery and delicious. The cheese muffin was very tasty yet there was not very much cheese butter dollop on top. Wish there would've been more cheese flavor in the middle.

I was skeptical, as I've been by this small shop quite few times, and it didn't seem special, but I decided to try it. Best blueberry scone ever--chock full of plump berries! I got a maple bar for my honey and it was still exceptional the next morning! I am now anxious to try my usual favorites ( buttermilk bar and plain glazed ). Just as well I don't live nearby anymore--it would be far to tempting.

Ocean Beach has lots of great place to choose from when it comes to food. They also have a good donut shop. I stop by and picked up a croissant donut and I have to say it was pretty good. They have lots to choose from. So if your craving a donut stop by and try this spit out.
