Ô Bánh Mì - Review - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Ô Bánh Mì is a simple operation. This family-run sandwich shop on a quiet Silver Lake street doesn’t have much more than a single communal table, a Buddha statue, and a row of Sriracha bottles. The menu is shorter than a college freshman’s grocery list, but the roast pork bánh mì—previously a Friday special, but now available daily—is what you should order anyway, with soft, well-seasoned meat and a cup of rich broth for dipping.  The cold cut sandwich is fine, but skip the shredded lemongrass chicken that’s a little dry. All sandwiches come with a generous amount of pickled vegetables and jalapeños, but if you consider yourself a pate lover, be sure to ask for extra." - Cathy Park

On the Grid : Ô Banh Mi

"At Ô Bánh Mi menu is straightforward just like their hours. They're open 12-4 everyday and serve about 5 types of bahn mi sandwiches, 2 choices of papaya salad and 2 curry bowls. That's it. Everything is $7.50 except for the drinks, of course. It's a tiny hole in the wall but man, they do it right. There's seating for about 8 inside, cash only and no visible street sign. Seek and you shall find." - Presshaus LA

The Best Lunch Spots In Hollywood

"It’s hard for us to even say “Cahuenga” without picking up a banh mi from Banh Oui. In some ways, we prefer these somewhat non-traditional versions over the straightforward cold cut or grilled pork iterations you’ll find at places like My Dung or Saigon’s Sandwich. For starters, the insides of the baguettes here are always fluffy and soft, with a crunchy exterior. Chicken liver oozes out of the sides at even the gentlest touch. And fillings aren’t typical—they’ve got chicken katsu, fried rock shrimp, sous vide duck breast, and plentyof vegetarian options. We gravitate towards the katsu, balanced out with loads of herbs and crunchy pickled vegetables. Banh Oui is fast, it’s fresh, and if you set your mind to it, one sandwich (and maybe a side of fries or mushroom salad?) can stretch into two meals.  " - brant cox, arden shore

4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"With a barebones Los Feliz interior and its name scrawled on the door, O Banh Mi focuses its energy on excellent sandwiches—visit Fridays for a shredded roast pork banh mi topped with a long shard of crispy skin served with a rich pork jus, and try the classic banh mi dac biet with creamy pate and pickled vegetables; open daily noon–3 p.m." - Eater Staff

This Is the Best Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"At Ô Banh Mi in Los Feliz the shop sources bread from Mr. Baguette in Rosemead and brings together two kinds of steamed pork sausage in its bánh mì đặc biệt; the expected banana-leaf–wrapped chả lụa is joined by a cinnamony chả quế that makes for a pleasant, distinctive twist." - Cathy Chaplin
