I walked into the restaurant hoping for a great experience, but unfortunately, everything ended up being just average.
The menu, for starters, didn't flow well. It felt disorganized, and it didn't seem designed to excite customers or make the ordering process smooth. I found myself struggling to decide what to get, which is never a good sign.
The prices were on the higher side, which seems to be the norm for Texas BBQ. Maybe the idea is that higher prices suggest better quality? Whatever the reasoning, I didn't feel like I got my money's worth.
I eventually ordered a brisket sandwich, a side of mac & cheese, and a can of Coke. The food was... fine. Not terrible, but certainly not memorable. Everything was just mediocre - nothing stood out as exceptional.
What really left a bad impression, though, were the signs. "No public restrooms." "25% gratuity will be charged on abandoned tabs." Laminated notes on the tables instructing you to clean up after yourself. These are not the kind of messages that put the customer at ease. It felt like the focus was more on enforcing rules than creating a welcoming environment.
When a restaurant prioritizes warnings and policies over hospitality, it's a red flag. It's clear that something is off with the management's priorities.
