17 Horizon-Expanding Restaurants in Hillsboro

"While diners will find staples of Lebanese fare such as baba ghanoush, lamb shawarma, and gyros here, the Oasis menu also boasts dishes like whole roasted hen and chicken musakhan, which is widely considered to be the national dish of Palestine. On any entree served with basmati rice, the restaurant’s flavorful spicy mango rice can be subbed in for a surcharge. Desserts are a necessary end to the meal, particularly the kenafeh, a cheese-filled kataifi pastry, or the Oasis Specialty, a rose water-and-pistachio-topped cheese-and-cream confection, both of which arrive fresh out of the oven." - Krista Garcia, Janey Wong

My husband and I, visited Oasis, a Lebanese restaurant, and it was absolutely amazing. The food was incredibly good—authentic, fresh, and delicious. The drinks were just as fantastic. But what made the experience even better was our waitress, Sally (Sallee). She was kind, attentive, funny, and intelligent. She’s a perfect example of how one person can make a big difference in a place. It’s not just about the food and the atmosphere—it’s also about the people who work there. And she is definitely making a difference. We are truly grateful and will be coming back soon! ❤️

My wife and I stumbled across this Gem after meeting friends at top golf. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night or a nice evening out with friends. We ordered the kabobs - mixed and the chicken. The meat was fresh and full of flavor, it was well cooked and not greasy. We paired it with some Turkish coffee and Dubai chocolate to end the night. I highly recommend this place and we plan on returning!

Google
Wow! Immediately became one of our favorites for Lebanese cuisine. Highly recommend the meat mezza plate to share and the lemonades with a touch of rose water are life-changing. Service is the BEST!

Wife and I love Oasis for takeout. We get the skewers and hummus and then add our own fresh veggies. So good!

Gyro meats was cold and not taste fresh at all. We also ordered beef shawarma plate 🍽️ but the beef taste like lamb 🐑 meat in it so we asked waitress is beef mix with lamb meat? Waitress said no, only beef but we for sure taste really strong of lamb meat in it. After 5mins later waitress came back and let us know after she double checked with the chefs, they confirmed their was mix beef and lamb meats but on the menu didn’t say with lamb meat ect. But they was nice enough to exchange it chicken for us.

Google
A delightful gem for Middle Eastern cuisine. Try a special dessert, but be sure to ask your server for THEIR recommendation and then FOLLOW that recommendation for the freshest, most authentic experience. Enjoy your food, and the leftovers are also always amazing because the food is always made fresh here. Including the Naan, ground grains, and the freshest parsley ever. This place is great for a little quiet time as well as a romantic evening out, or even a business lunch. It's pretty 😎 and way better quality and price than the go-to place you all think is good on Main Street.

Google
Nice atmosphere. I enjoyed the combo that I ordered. The lamb is nice, can't comment the beef as I don't take beef. All the dishes that we ordered are delicious as we did share among us. All the different dishes that we tried taste great, shrimp, chicken, etc.

Ahmad R

Google
Delicious dishes and fine potions. We sampled the gyro plate and chicken shawarma, with the chicken shawarma standing out exceptionally. The only minor suggestion for improvement would be fresher pickles, as they would have elevated the overall experience to perfection. Based on our experience, I’d highly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for a memorable meal, and I personally look forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Oasis is my favorite Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant in the entire greater Portland area. I especially enjoy the Hillsboro location and I try to go there as often as possible. Fantastic flavors and service.

Yelp
Went back here after a long time, and it was definitely worth going back I had the exotic baba ghanouj - the jalapenos give the roasted eggplant dish just the right amount The chicken kebabs with rice and hummus was excellent , the chicken was moist and hummus was fresh while the rice was very flavorful The bread here is a whole different ball game. It's fresh and it's soft and pass perfectly with the hummus and baba ghanouj The final item was dessert - don't leave without trying the pistachio ice cream

Yelp
This place is awesome! We came at a weird in between lunch and dinner time, and they were still really welcoming. The restaurant is clean, and well decorated, and the booths very comfy (even for my plus size self!). The staff was excellent, and recommended popular items for the whole family. We had baba ganoush, hummus (with beef and almonds), a traditional gyro wrap, and a lamb panini - a table full of food, and everyone happy with their choices. Would highly recommend this place for generous portions, flavorful food, great service, and a good experience!!

Yelp
Oasis has held this location in Hillsboro for the better part of a decade as some incredibly formidable neighbors--Southern Spice, Pure Spice--came and went. It feeds tables of Intel vendors in for the weekend, Omega Morgan contractors building the next data center, state lab workers saving babies' and animals' lives and old Hillsboro families eating their first falafel in overalls. That the Alkhatib family has stayed here so long an impressed so many is a testament to both the Lebanese restaurant owners who helped prepare the palates around them (thinking the Dibe family at Nicholas and Zeina Shaer at Abu Rasheed) and to their unwavering commitment to the menu. No, they aren't going to tone down the garlica or kibbeh. Yes, the chicken musuken is going to have some kick to it. Yes, there's going to be arak, jallab and ksara on the drinks menu. Most importantly, the lamb and falafel are going to take time because all good things do. The wraps are a bit more than I was used to paying back east, but the masses of workers who come in for the $15 lunch box have mastered the system. Oasis doesn't dumb down the menu and makes its dishes with the unabashed love of place and cuisine they deserve. It made its way through the pandemic by sticking to the game plan, making the food its customers have come to love and never letting the quality of its produce, meats or preparation slip. It is a Hillsboro staple, and the area is extremely fortunate it's remained.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while out and about and enjoyed it. The interior decor is darker with lots of gold and silver accents, and is just peaceful to sit in. It was slower being that I was having a late lunch but the service was friendly and prompt getting me seated and order taken. The food came out fairly quickly as well. The Fetah Hummus bowl order was very taste! The oil drizzle on it was a little heavy for my liking but the hummus and meat were prefect; well seasoned with tender meat. The bread is mixed into the hummus and not served on the side but you could easily split this with someone as an appetizer and order bread.

Yelp
Gyro with garlic sauce is always a win! Playing professional basketball I the Middle East and especially in Lebanon I had gotten hooked on garlic sauce. It has been such a pain to find an establishment with good garlic sauce but I don't have to look no further! I always order on the phone because the food is fresh and take time. The lamb gyro is so good with the warm pita! Winner!! The price is definitely more than the middle eat but that is expected in America. $10-12 for a gyro is reasonable and it is huge!! The ambiance in the restaurant takes my back to the Middle East. It's nice and clean, where you are greeted with great hospitality. I have eaten here 3 times in a month (a little addicted lol).

Yelp
Came back here this Labor Day evening after a long hiatus and was pleasantly reminded how great it is. They weren't busy but they deserve to be. Food is great, with large portion sizes and came out fast. I had the Lamb Stew and it was fantastic (see photo)! I will definitely put this place back on my short list of great dinner spots in Hillsboro!

Yelp
Staff are very friendly! Great service. Good food. Looking forward to going back. Forgot what we had but we got good time.

Yelp
Spacious with cool vibe. Our server was very friendly. The chicken kabobs and lamb shawarma were amazing. Rice wasn't the most flavorful I've had and the stuffed grape leaves were cold. Maybe this is a normal thing but was weird to me.
google avatar

Yelp
We had Exotic Lebneh, Chicken Tawook Kebab and Chicken Shawarma platter and it was all great. Also great service and a nice space.

Yelp
Been here a number of times with co-workers. Great place to take a large group and share items from the menu. Try to come right before lunchtime, since it's a favorite spot for many employees in the surrounding Hillsboro offices. If it's a warm sunny day, I'd recommend you sit by the patio. The food was excellent, service was great. This is probably the best Lebanese restaurant I have eaten at in Oregon. The lamb is perfect and my go-to dish. Nice size portions and the chicken Mukulun was packed with spices, nuts and fresh flatbread. Good Tahini sauce. I'd also recommend you try the Hummus Bi-Lahma, which is garbanzo beans paste with lamb meat and served with two super large tortilla-type pieces of bread (large plate for $10) and the Sambousek with chicken (3 for $6.95) ...large portion but delicious. Lentil soup is great especially during the cold, rainy weather. The prices were reasonable and the food authentic. I would drive here from Portland again for the food.

Yelp
My husband is in love with their lamb stew. I like the gyro. The inside of the restaurant is super nice and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
Get the gyro pizza & the sticky mango rice are delicious. This place is yummy and I will be trying more of the menu! Oh the hummus is very yummy good and tastes homemade. I will say the bread served with the hummus, is very tortilla like which was different than any other bread I've been served in the various types of Mediterranean places I've eaten. I use to have a form of middle eastern/ Mediterranean/ Lebanese food every year for my birthday for years & my neighbors were Lebanese for reference and I grew up eating her amazing recipes. We ordered takeout and food was made very quickly. We drove from the parking lot at Albertsons in Hillsboro, where we placed our order, and upon walking in to restaurant the hostess was just brining the order upfront. Very quick. No idea what dining in is like. My wife commented she probably would of enjoyed her food more had we not done takeout.

Yelp
I was craving Mediterranean food and my husband suggested we try this, we've never been here before. We were seated right away and ordered quick drinks (I got a mint lemonade with rose water) and an appetizer (feta platter). While waiting you can admire the beautiful decorations and music (middle eastern?) playing softly in the background. The wait was short though, the food was out within 5 minutes of us ordering. I got the falafel wrap with a side salad and my husband got gyro shawarma plate. My wrap came with warm falafel in a crispy flaky wrap with fresh cool lettuce and tzatziki sauce. The side salad was drizzled with basalmic vinaigrette with fresh garlic. It was so nice to have a filling meal with plenty of fresh ingredients. My husband's shawarma plate had a tangy garlic sauce and feta. It was served with a side of basmati rice. 10/10 we will come back again soon!

Yelp
Stopped by on way back to the coast from Portland. Wow, so glad we did. We had lamb shewarma and exotic babaganoush. So good. This will be a regular stop for us! Najib was our server and host. He was great also. Very attentive to our needs and a pleasant person.
google avatar

Sahitya M.

Yelp
The service is upright rash! I have never been to a place where the waitress is in such a hurry to do things ! There weren't a lot of people in the restaurant either! She kept rushing us to get the order, take the menu from us, get the cheque, clean the table while we are still packing the left overs in a to-go box ! The food wasn't great either ! I didn't really have a pleasant experience overall! Will I go back here again? Definitely not !! There is nothing about this place that makes me want to go back again
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered meat mezza plate, foul mukmada, and lamb stew. Excellent place. Never been to Lebanon but can already tell this place is authentic. Best was the hummus. My wife really likes the foul mukmada. But there were no bad dishes only spectacular ones.

Mike P.

Yelp
Went for lunch on Monday October 28. Waited over 5 minutes in entry at host stand at about 1:30 pm. Saw server cleaning a table but she never came over to seat me. I finally left so cannot comment on food but I can say there was not attentive service.

Yelp
What the heck? I've never posted for one of my favorite restaurants in the whole area? That is crazy. I eat here at least once every other month. I have introduced almost all my friends and family to Oasis in Hillsboro. Every single one of them loved the food and the service. I have only had one dish that I was disappointed by but that's not their fault. It was exactly as described. The portions here are GENEROUS! I've had many a friend's eyes bug out at the site of the wraps. And everything is flavorful and FRESH. My faves: the hummus (best I've had anywhere), pita bread (I know you are thinking "What's so hot about pita bread?" Well, you haven't had pita bread until you have Oasis' pita bread, so fluffy and chewy and pull-apart good!), falafel salad or wrap, fatoush salad (my fave salad there), feta salad, gyro wrap. Oh, I like to order the mezza sampler which includes: stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ganouj, tabouli, pita (I always order an extra), falafels. It is at least two meals, and always great. Perfect for vegetarians like me. Their shwarmas and kabobs are excellent. I don't eat that much meat but everyone who does, loves them. My husband is a huge meat eater and he love Oasis too! Service is always attentive without being obtrusive. I always can find a table here but takeout is fine too. I honestly can't think of anything to complain about with Oasis. It is consistently tasty with always fantastic service. I've eaten here so many times, I no longer take pictures. I'll take some next time I go and add them here later. Tomorrow sounds good!

Yelp
We have been eating here on a regular basis for nearly three years and the food has always been tasty. Service is quick and friendly and we enjoy eating in the restaurant at one of the booths. Definitely a pleasure to enjoy Lebanese cuisine so close to home.
google avatar

Sasha L.

Yelp
Service was not okay. We asked for sauce never received it for our bread. Didn't even get asked for water refill. Lamb had a smell to it. There's nothing special about the rice here it's steamed has zero flavor. Food tasted bland felt like I was eating in a diabetic restaurant. Entrees come with steamed veggies, salad would be preferred. Please change menu because your food does not taste Lebanese at all!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent choices and a charming place to eat. The service is great. The also offer take out!!

Yelp
What a find! I was surprised to find out they have been in the Hillsboro location for more than 10 years, tucked behind the main Imbre storefronts. I ordered a chicken Shawerma dinner wrap, fries. The Mezza Plate Sampler (V, VG) which consists of hummus, baba ghanouj, tabouli salad, falafel and grape leaves, Sambousek and a cup of soup. The portions are very generous, I will have left overs for days. I don't know how delivery drivers do it. My care was filled with the aroma of Middle Eastern spices. I was so pleased with the taste of each item though the beef Sambouseks I could not put down. Lovers of Middle Eastern food know that all hummus is not created equal. The hummus, baba ghanouj and fresh bread it is served with is 'slap your leg' good! I called ahead ordering direct from the Hillsboro location for pick-up and paid when I arrived. The process met my high pandemic expectations. I look forward to ordering from them again!

Yelp
Way tucked into a corner of a strip mall, but worth the find. Oasis offers a number of Mediterranean and Lebanese items. Tried their hummus bi-lahma and "arabic" chicken. Love that it came with spicy garlic sauce similar to that fluffy concoction called toum. The hummus and gyro meat that the bi-lahma came with was pretty basic fare. The chicken dish was on the dry side but packed a lot of flavors. I do like that it all came with pickles. Often times I get hummus/gyro and find it too satiating. The pickles cut it very nicely. Service could have been better; it was a bit curt and fast. Otherwise, the dining area looks great with their fancy lights and whatnot.
google avatar

Ernie L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a coworker. We started with some hummus and I ordered the shawarma plate. I eat a lot of Mediterranean food and thought this was the worst Lebanese food I've had in Portland. That coupled with it being pricey for what it is gives the 2 star review. All the staff seemed nice and ambiance is great tho!

Lord O.

Yelp
Super spicy food couldn't eat anything it's too hot burning like hell I wish they have an option for non spicy food. Please add this option

Yelp
Used to eat at the Oasis in Murryhill for many, many years. Recently moved out to Hillsboro and discovered there is an Oasis out here! Same brilliant Lebanese food. I've had Lebanese food town in the "city". NOTHING COMES EVEN CLOSE TO OASIS! Same brilliant service, ESPECIALLY THE SERVICE WE RECEIVED THIS EVENING FROM OMAR. Keep doing what y'all are doing, it's the best!

Yelp
The BEST Lebanese Cuisine in our area! The restaurant seems family owned, which adds to the charm. I had no idea what to order, and the waitress took our menus, asked if there was anything we hated or were allergic to (all no)... and she came back with the most wonderful assortment of foods! It was like a culinary dream. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of PDX.
google avatar

LaSheila R.

Yelp
My husband and I come here often. We love the spot, one of our favorites. Food is consistently, fresh and flavorful and waitstaff is inviting, friendly and attentive.

Dorothy J.

Yelp
We had the Exotic Baba Ghanouj , with jalapeños , insanely good. Lamb Shawerma plate, Fatoush salad, and a lamb shawerma wrap .. with garlic fries. The shawerma was delicious, the fries dipped in the Ghanouj was amazing. Great service from our waiter Najib! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Food was good. Had gluten free and vegan option. Large portion sizes. We would go back again.
google avatar

Dahlia C.

Yelp
Wish I discovered this place sooner! The woman who seated us was very warm and friendly, the place had a nice vibe, and the food was perfect and beautifully prepared. We had falafel, Baba ghanouj, and a Chicken Schwerma plate, which was shared between two of us. The Pita Bread was so soft and chewy, which we really enjoyed. I love garlic, so I kinda was obsessed with the garlic sauce and ate it with everything, haha. After stuffing ourselves, there were still left overs that we got to enjoy at home. Can't say anything bad about our experience, it's definitely at the top of my list.
google avatar

Cheyenne -.

Yelp
Cute spot, and fairly affordable. Large quantities, the baklava was super gooey and delicious. Going back again hopefully

Manasa P.

Yelp
Decided to try this place finally. Went here on a Saturday afternoon. The ambience was good with Lebanese music playing in the backdrop. The food was absolutely delicious. The portion size was huge. We ordered one appetiser and two entrées for three people and still couldn't finish. The falafel from here was one of the best I ever had. To the people who don't enjoy tangy food: make sure you customise it with less lemon juice, specially when ordering tabbouleh salad.
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
This location cannot be easily seen from normal traffic. It is tucked away in a strip mall. Plenty of private parking. They leave pita bread, olive oil, and a salt/pepper mix on the table for everyone. I ordered the lamb salad. It was pretty good and a great price. Service was fast and staff is friendly. The waitress was hilarious. The wraps are pretty good.
google avatar

Catrena C.

Yelp
Food is a little better than ok but the service is great! Very clean, and nice place to dine
google avatar

Sadie D.

Yelp
My husband and I go here for date night and the food never disappoints. The portions are large and we typically have enough for a second meal. Sometimes the service is slow, but not enough to make us stop coming back.
google avatar

Eljay G.

Yelp
It's quaint and fairly it with a nice warm cozy feel to the place as well. It's definitely a nice sit down restaurant. The food was very filling and satisfying. I ordered the gyro plate and there were plenty of meat and rice portions for the price. I would go back again for sure! They served the food fairly quickly as well and even provided my friend and I with help ordering as it was our first time going there. Overall the experience was great and the lady (she looks like the owner of the place) was very nice welcoming.

Susie W.

Yelp
I ordered the Tabouli Salad, Chicken Skewer and Baklava to go. Good food, Great service, they have a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking trees and water I want to use on a nice day next time.

Yelp
I have been here twice recently where I was not as happy with the quality of the food as I had been in past visits. I have loved this place a long time and spent a lot of money here over the years with no complaint. The last time with a friend, the hummus was still smooth and creamy but so salty it was barely edible. And that was sad. I chalked it up to an off day. This time with my teen and their BFF, the food was just ok. The rosewater lemonades were $3.95 each and pretty watered down. The schwarma wraps were stuffed full of iceberg and a little light on the meat. The bread is still the same good chewy flatbread it has always been. My side salad had two pieces tomato, two halved cucumber slices, a heap of the same shredded iceberg and a good balsamic dressing which saved it from utter mediocrity. The fries were out of a bag, not crispy, strangely unsalted, and bland. For $8.95 for the chicken wraps and $9.95 for the BFF's beef wrap we were left kinda disappointed and the kids were still hungry. Which for $40 is not cool. I don't think it is our favorite anymore. My teen was still happy " because I love iceberg, Mom" and she was simply starving, but the BFF and I were frankly just not. P.S. Our server and the parking were fine. The restaurant is clean and nice inside. P.P.S. So it occurs to me the iceberg thing might be because romaine is questionable right now. I wish they'd used something else.
google avatar

Steff ..

Yelp
I grew up in Middle East because of which I have high expectations for the food(shouldn't but yes I do). I liked the hummus and pita here compared to a lot of other places in Portland but other than that the food is average. Service and ambience was good.

Yelp
WHOPPER-sized GYRO WRAP!!! Maybe even bigger than a BK Whopper actually!!! And with that thought, here's what I've tried and here's what I love about this little Oasis: ~ THEIR GYRO WRAPS!!! There is just something about them! The price varies between their lunch specials and dinner, but I don't recall paying over $10 for a wrap. Its a large pita bread wrap, nice'n'fluffy; Filled with lettuce, tomatoes, some sweet red onion, and some pickle cuts. I don't recall if it has olives, but the gyro slices were pretty dang juicy and all together it's simply good'n'tasty! ~ I usually order it with gyro meat, but they do offer other meat choices. They've got shawerma meats like chicken, beef, and lamb which are also savory. As well as beef kabob meat, although I've yet to try it. Veggie options also offered. ~ In the salad mood? I personally enjoy choosing their falafel or gyro salads. Both in between $10-12. They're basically the wraps without the pita bread lol. But when I order "to-go", my carton is usually filled to the top! And it always makes for a refreshing choice! ~ As for appetizers and sides, I've had their Sambousek ($8.25 - 3 pieces) which are also crispy and delicious! I've tried threes different types too, one with veggie and potatoes, another piece with chicken, and one with beef which was my favorite! Loved them all actually. Oh, and their Lentil Soup! I've never really never liked lentil soup until trying their version. ~ With work being nearby, I've tried many other items and usually end up with a very satisfying lunch. Oasis has definitely become part of my lunchtime rotation. And for lunch next time, I'm gonna try me one of them pizzas! Regarding Staff and Service, I've usually been served at the hostess counter (between a protective plexiglass) by a cordial gentleman or a lady with curly hair, whom I believe is the manager. But regardless, whether if its take-out or dine-in, I've never had any issue with service. Now after thinking about it, I'm giving that fifth star just because of it. In closing, this Oasis location is tucked away in the corner of a small shopping complex, so it may be hard to find. Because of that, I can imagine this place being an excellent choice for a second or third date type of atmosphere. Test out your date's exotic side, or simply have a quiet business meeting with coworkers. I know covid is still around, so there's definitely less people eating out, but what's also great is the fact that the do have an outdoor patio as well. Yummy food and great service, yep they've got recommendation. That's a wrap! (Get it with gyro too lol)

Yelp
Clean restaurant, friendly servers! Bathrooms were spotless. Food was delicious but could've been hotter, it was nearly cold. Rice tasted amazing! We both enjoyed our dinner here.

Yelp
Huge portions, food came out so quickly, the interior is clean and lovely. I'm recommending this place to everyone.

Yelp
Authentic Lebanese cuisine w. melodious music in the background and good service. Shared a vegetarian platter with our colleagues and ended up getting chicken kabobs w. rice n vegetables. It meet my expectation three ***). Not sure why this place has 4 1/2 *.

Yelp
Good food, a lot of food for the price. The hummus plate was good. I got a lamb gyro, it was yummy.

Yelp
Ordered take out Sunday afternoon around 5PM and the place was really empty. I discovered this restaurant from yelp's suggestion and instantly fall in love with the place. The takeout was quite efficient and when we get to the restaurant everything already packed and placed at the takeout table. I just picked up the one with my name on it with no human contact. This is super nice under the current COVID situation. The food is amazing! I have ordered the lamb shank and it was tender and flavored. You should definitely give it a try! The food is huge and I had leftovers that I can eat the next day for lunch. One thing that could be improved is their vegetables. For some reason, they are tasteless and soggy. Not sure whether it is because of takeout or they just really need to improve their steamed vegetables. My husband ordered kafta shish kabob. The dish is generally good but the kafta is a bit dried during the grilling process. Big shout out to Sambousek (samosas) with chicken. The filling is so tasty and well spiced. The sauce come with it is the best! This dish can serve as a great appetizer. It comes with 3 pieces. Also, while I am writing this review, I have discovered that they actually have a Facebook page and the owner posts different discounted items on the page basically every day. Definitely worth checking out the page and get some lunch specials. Here is their website - https://www.facebook.com/TheOasisSequim/ I would like to order from them again or go eat there in person. Feel blessed that it is so close to us around the Hillsboro area. More pictures coming =)

Yelp
Amazing ambience . Amazing food do try out their hummus and falafels. They serve one of the best pita breads.

Yelp
TRY THE HUMMUS WITH LAMB! This place has some of the most tasty mediterranean dishes around the area. Be sure to come right before lunchtime, since it's one of Intel's employees favorite spot, being so good and close to a large campus. My wife and I decided we wanted to try the DELICIOUS Hummus Bi-Lahma, which is garbanzo beans paste with lamb meat and served with two super large tortilla-type pieces of bread (large plate for $10) and the Sambousek with chicken (3 for $6.95) so we had to take the Salad with lamb ($10.95) and these two appetizers and salad was just TOO MUCH FOOD for two people! The prices are fair: Great food for a decent price and FRIENDLY SERVICE! #PDX #Hillsboro #hummus #gyros #Lebanese #ruizmedina
